I would have a month ago as well.
I'm getting the GSM Galaxy Nexus in February...
And my sis needs the keyboard on this phone or I would trade
Also there are some promising ROMs looking to be released soon for this device that I'm intrigued in.

Nope. Undeadk9 has several stable ROMs that push this device very far.

Getting to the top of the benchmarks that you wrote yourself doesn't make your product actually good. Tegra is nvidia TRASH, along with their history of being total douchebags over hardware documentation and the likes. Complete contempt for everything that makes sense.

I would not trade. I'm a hardware buttons and hardware keyboard kind of guy.
That said, I can't stand the MT4GS keyboard. Half the time I press space, I get tactile feedback. Half the time I get tactile feedback, I don't get a space in the text I'm typing.
The Shift, Alt, Enter keys are not where I expect them (one row too high). Let's face it, I'm still in love with my G1's keyboard. Maybe if I could turn my G1 into a bluetooth keyboard, and make the MT4GS accept it as such... possible?
I tried out the Sidekick (much worse, specs-wise)(but hella cheap at the time and still a vast improvement over the G1) and even its keyboard -- while more like what I'm used to -- wasn't quite what I could get on board with.
But no, I wouldn't trade the MT4GS for any other phone currently being sold by T-Mo. Haven't looked at other providers at all.
Id take an Amaze or GSII over my Doubleshot. It was a major let down, I've had 3 chances for those phones. But I'm just waiting for CM9, this kinda is the only duel core KB phone. But for a Atrix 2. Hella No.

I hope the next one is the S4 Snapdragon processor, no need for another until then. I like this one and intend to enjoy it for a while, or until HTC puts out an S4 hardware keyboard one.

I rather have my rooted G2 over a S-On non-rooted doubleshot. There was a fuse that went that renders my screen useless on the G2. I bought this because it was easier to find and the specs are much better. The keyboard is backwards though and a huge let down. Still, its some what useable most of the time. This phone is pretty useless without root. Damn kid upgraded the phone hours before I bought it after I told him not to prior to the purchase. I miss root!

Were I that worried about it myself, I'd have told him he lost out on a sale by doing that after having been told not to. But then, I'd've been using a G1 since October 2008, and wouldn't've minded the extra wait for a decent replacement. Obviously your situation was different; just sayin.

Personally, I like the Incredible's track pad, hated the Eris' /but I can certainly function without it. when you think about it, it's a touch screen phone.. the track pad is just taking up valuable real estate.
I do love the Thunderbolt. It isn't what I hoped it would be. and I wasn't sure about the kick stand. but it looks really well built. And I'm not in a 4G area, so paying for it may not be worth it unfortunately. Hopefully they adequate the pricing so it's doable.

Funny I figured Verizon would've called it a Droid at least. The trackpad really would just take up space on the already large device. it fits well on the incredible though. i had a droid x for a while and I felt like it needed a trackpad even though it was so large. there was definitely room for it on the X

Put It this way... There are justified and explainable reasons for the lack of dualcore. If you think about, Qualcomm is really the best CPU on the market, if HTC would've debuted a Dualcore Snapdragon, everyone would've disregarded the tegra and all its mobile counterparts, minus the xoom of course =)
In Addition... There are NO APPLICATIONS or Android itself is NO WHERE NEAR the use of two cores and hyper threading. This should pick up after Q3 maybe even Q4 when the "Devs and Engineers" fine tune the use of all this great hardware.
For now, the thunderbolt is the best machine. Dual Mics plus the media mics by the camera and speaker as the Droid x had make this a Beast over that chump called "Droid Bionic" garbage. 768MB Ram, Second Gen Snapdragon, Plus the dev support on this makes it insane...

But the evo hardware is going to be far slower in a year than nexus hardware. The Hummingbird processor we've seen in the SGS family is by far better than what the evo is sporting.
I don't have a single concern about my Nexus S (or Epic) not being adequate in a year or two.... I have used an evo now and I already feel that it's a slow clumsy device shoe-horned into a large enclosure to attract the "hummer crowd" ... bigger is better, am i right?
I just got rid of my epic for the ns4g (cracked screen on epic). My fiancée has the EVO and I have to say its a night and day comparison. Battery on the nexus is much better. Everything is smoother, and of course the display is 100x better. The EVO is a nice phone, but hardware wise its a bit out of date.

If the bootloader is unlocked, I might consider it. However, odds are, it isn't. MySense isn't exactly my favorite. The device itself is basically a chubbier Glacier with a keyboard, and not as nice of a screen as the Sensation. I really wish they would've ditched the ugly chrome stylings, but I guess that's their "brand" for this line. The 3.7" form factor is also a little too small for my tastes, and I'm looking to get at least a 4" screen next time. Not to mention: I'm still kinda pissed that T-Mo dumped the Glacier so hard, providing only a single crappy official accessory (BT dock) that didn't make use of the phone's docking pin feature, and smashed in the power button.
The camera is interesting, but the standard Google camera app leaves a lot to be desired, and I would be rooting this thing for sure.
At this point, I think I'm happy with my Glacier until the Nexus 3 comes around. If I had to pick a phone between then, I would prefer the Galaxy S II or the Sensation. How about you guys?

While having a bigger screen does mean bigger touchscreen keyboard and less errors, nothing can ever replace a hardware keyboard thats/as was solid as the g1 imo.
I just can't understand why every manufacturer has a hard time making a 4' screen with a 5 row keyboard? I agree the G1 had the best keyboard, hence why I just upgraded last week because it was extremely outdated.

IMO the sensation really isn't anything special. The screen on it sucks and its not that fast for it being a dual core phone. I've heard some bad things about the Sensation, but I think the sluggish speed is caused by the async Snapdragon that Qualcomm made. Both CPUs won't be on unless they're both needed and I'm guessing that doesn't work really good in Gingerbread, so perhaps on 1 core is active. When the Exynos or Tegra 2 the cores are both on all the time, so they should be faster, although they still clock up and down as normal. The screen in lacking, but it's no S/Amoled or IPS or Retina. HTC doesn't really produce nicer screens like the competition, they use S-LCD or LCD in their phones, not sure if they have any other tech ATM.
Well, I can agree on this. I've never been a fan of MyTouch models, but T-Mo forced me. I've been from a T-Mo G1 (Dream), to a T-Mo G2 (Desire Z), then to a samsung Galaxy S 4g and when it got stolen, the assurant would only leave me with a MyTouch 4g. Really can't compare the screen, but hey, I'm more than pleased. I'm quite impressed this phone doesn't have that much of a great feedback from T-Mo. :/ Oh well.

Sorry was it hard for you to comprehend?
DhD = Desire HD (GSM)
TB = Thunderbolt (CDMA)
2GS = Second Generation Spandragon
So technically Inspire HD (GSM-US) is equivalent of Desire HD (GSM-EU). Since we real pro die hard SmartPhone user know HTC owns Moto and SamSUX, so that's another subject of its own.
Now the point I was making is as you being home user you yourself do not need or dual core mCPU yet. So MT4G is same spec as Thunderbolt (yes I'm aware of the screen and nand diff). Thus last of its kind not failed attempt to upgrade us to dual core when Android framework so far utilizing only cpu0 as cpu1 thread is most not used as OS and App is not using it yet.

Most likely, never had the chance to check. The phone got stolen a month after bought so I could barely play around with it. It's not usual of me to root a phone the same day I get it; I stay with root for a few days, and in this case, a month. Now with the MT4G, no way I was gonna stay with stock for a month, no way. |: hahaha.

Yeah, give it a bit more time than a week... That's hardly giving it a chance. Besides, there is no other super qwerty model out there atm. Comparing this to the Note or SGSIII is difficult because it isn't really in the same category. This device has around the same power as the Note but the SGSIII has a newer style processor that puts it in a different league. If you really love qwertys, then THIS is the device for you but if you could care less about a keyboard... then go for the SGSIII. Either way, you should give it a little more time before judgment. Good luck!

If I were getting a new phone, I would prefer a Nexus model. But the GNex doesn't have microSD so I'm concerned about that. I like being able to use SD cards, and also put in an optional battery. I hope the new trend isn't to go like Apple and make the phone completely sealed, with no additional storage or battery options. That would suck.

You didn't try before buying? That seems to be your Mistake #1.
I will only buy QWERTY phones unless I have no choice. I'm looking at what the G3 looks like or what the next round of specs the Sidekick line brings. The problem with cell phones nowadays is you don't know what's coming out until a month or two before release.

the tmo dealer didn't have any the one day I stopped by... best buy doesn't carry tmo.... and well, the reviews were inconsistent about the keyboard in comparison to the g2 or g1.
Craigslist is where I buy/sell/swap, so its no loss. I don't sign contracts for phones.
as much as I love the g2's keyboard, I can live without just fine if the on screen is ics.
