Go Launcher EX - WiFi Related Lag? - Kindle Fire Themes and Apps

So I've noticed with Go Launcher EX that with WiFi turned off or with it on but no connection that scrolling through the home screens and app drawer is laggy and stutters. Once WiFi is connected this are very smooth. This happens with the stock ROM and CM7. Has anyone else noticed this and/or have any suggestions on fixing it?
Edit: Moving the minimum clock speed up to 600MHz with SetCPU takes care of the lag but I'm sure I'll burn through the battery a little faster.

I haven't noticed anything like that, are you on the stock ROM or something else?
I still use the default Kindle Launcher, so it is a bit laggy when I launch Go Launcher EX and it isn't in memory.

It did it with the stock ROM and now does it with CM7.

Silly question, but do you have issues w/ home screen redraws as well, or no? If so, it still sounds like a loading thing. If not, that is strange. Maybe it has a few built in widgets that are getting upset about not having access to the outside world?

Custom Launcher being killed?

Everytime I use either ADW or Zeam, I have problems with the Launcher, I assume, being killed off by the system to free resources possibly?
I never used the Sense Launcher, and I really do not plan to--it's not as customizable as I would like (maybe if I can add 5 Rows and a new Dockbar I would?)
Anyhow, this is a huge problem I found with my OG DROID. It was 99% solved with my Fascinate. Now on my TB, it's back at it again, constant redraw. Anytime I am in a memory intensive situation (especially, but there are exceptions to this rule), and I hit the home button, the Launcher is blank and restarts. This surely can't be a memory problem with a phone that has 768 RAM.
I am not rooted, and I don't plan to (did it with my Droid, Fascinate and Nook Color--I simply want a phone that I am happy with as stock.)
Any thoughts on this? Anytime I bring this up, most claim it does not happen to them. I am an app whore, so my phone is loaded, but still?
Thoughts? Ideas?
It used to happen to my D1 and I think it was because of the memory.
You might want to get rooted, and install a senseless rom, therefore you won't have rosie taking up resources, since you don't even use it.
I use launcherpro and I am using a senseless rom and it never happens.
Hope this helps

Do either of those launchers have a setting to "keep in memory" this may help you out. I know LP does, not sure about those since I have never used them. Check out the settings for them, hopefully there is something like that in there.

ADW does have a "system persistence" but he said he is taking it out because it doesn't work on 2.3 plus. I use it and it doesn't change anything.
Zeam is minimalistic and has no system settings. I tried LP (I have the paid versions), and the same thing...

[Q] lag badly when quit an APP for a second

hi,
i'm rookie, so here is the question. when i quit any APP back to the main menu, at the moment i slip the menu, it almost spike there for a second, lag badly. is that normal to everyone?
galaxy s with stock XXJVR+speedmod+EXT4 lagfix
Sounds like the launcher is no longer in memory and it has to be loaded again, this takes some resources and probably makes your device lag.
Some launchers have options for that, i know ADW does, check yours.

Launcher crashing or being weird

I've been having problems with the default ICS launcher sort of crashing. i say "sort of" because it deson't actually crash because if it did...it would restart.
the desktop part of the launcher stops drawing. the wallpaper is still visible, and the dock still functional. i can still scroll, etc. the only problem is that the icons/widgets are gone. it seems like i can still click on them however, they're just not visible.
the only way to fix it is to force stop the launcher. which i don't mind doing once in a while, but it seems once it happens once, the launcher becomes relatively unstable and it happens often. a restart would re-stabilize it until it happens again.
anyone have the same issues and possible workaround?

I had that issue with go launcher HD, I switched to apex so far no iconless screen. And it is better then stock. You may want to give it a try
Native launcher crashes
I have tha same issue, i really like the native launcher, don't wanna change.
I think it's a widget related issue.
try removing all the widgets from your screens and see if it solves the problem

Home screen re-draws?

Nearly every time I exit an app, then home screen has to re-draw itself. It just seems very laggy, and I'm not sure what I'm doing to cause this behavior. The worst culprits seem to be my beautiful widgets home clock and my astrid tasks widgets. They take a good second or two before they're re-loaded into the home screen. Is this just an example of TW being terrible? Are others having this problem?
Thanks!
I notice the same thing and I'm not using those widgets. It's kind of sad some of these issues that have plauged android/Samsung since the S1 still exist.
That tends to happen after I am done texting someone, and then hit the home key. The only thing that redraws is the TouchWiz weather widget. Kinda sucks but I imagine another launcher would help.

I notice it after texting also. Especially if I hit the home key while the status of the text is still 'sending'. Very annoying, and kind of frustrating considering the specs of this phone. I can't imagine why the launcher can't be kept in memory, considering there's two gigs of ram on this thing. I guess I'll try moving to a different launcher.
I found that all touchwiz widgets suffer from this (weather, clock, calendar). The problem went away after I installed 3rd party widgets to replace those. I also installed Nova Launcher and I noticed in Nova, the stock calendar widget would still do the annoying refresh.
Stock bloated roms will cause this. Move to synergyRom and the redraws will be gone. FOR-EVER
VERIZON GALAXY S 3
I'm using Apex and have not had a single redraw. I'm mostly stock but rooted with a lot of apps frozen or removed.
One issue I do have is with an app called Agenda Widget; it doesn't redraw but occasionally when I return to the home screen it reloads my appointments. It literally takes a fraction of a second but even that annoys me. It's not a redraw because I can see the widget but it says "loading" where my appointments should be.
I used Apex for a long time & recently switched to Nova, both of these can be kept in memory which totally eliminates the redraw problem.

[Q] Black screen and wallpaper pop-in when exiting apps to the homescreen

This issue is a little hard to explain in greater detail than the title states. Happens quite a lot lately when closing an app. Basically after exiting to the homescreen via the home button I'm faced with a second or so of a black screen then the wallpaper and app icons just pop onscreen. Very annoying. Does anyone here know why this may be happening or what possibly might be causing it? I'm rooted pretty much stock with the Franco Kernel and xposed and only a few xposed modules.

Can you post a screen recording?
Stock home-launcher? Or custom one? If so it might be custom home launcher issue,or maybe xposed module issue.
Is it a launcher redraw, like what happens when the phone is out of memory? Or is what you described something else?

It's actually Nova Launcher. Do you think a launcher can cause something along the lines I (tried to) described?

I guess that sounds about right. Just now went in to Nova's advanced menu and an option was there for aggressive desktop which did mention about redraws and such. I checked it so I'll have to play around a bit to see if it'll make a difference. Thanks for mentioning it.
I've seen the same thing after playing a game on stock. Think it is the aggressive memory management in 4.4
