[HELP] Unlocking Sharp Aquos SH-01D NTT Docomo Phone outside of Japan - General Questions and Answers

I am based in UK, I bought an SH-01D, unfortunately it arrived locked. Now instead of sending it back to the seller, I was looking for other ways of unlocking it.
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1751240-Help-Unlocking-SH-01D-outside-of-Japan talks about buying an IMEI based code for unlocking, does anyone know where to get one?
I then researched into the possibility of using hypersims, but I am wondering because the SH-01D uses a micro sim like the one in iphone 4, a hypersim will not work right? I mean if I cut the hypersim it wont work yeah? Or are there versions of hypersim which will fit into the slot of my phone? I have searched but can not find!
There is this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gevey-Sim-Generation-Uncut-Version/dp/B004T1R5AY but it is for iphone 4, will it work in Japanese phone? Has anyone tried?
Or http://www.dealextreme.com/p/turbo-...ard-tray-holder-for-iphone-4-4-1-to-4-2-70710
Please help, I would hate to send the phone back, I spent most of the days watching the fedex tracking lol and I don’t want to do that again!
Or should I wait and hope for root, as that would hopefully mean deleting the simlock from the sytem?

[Q] Unlocked HTC Desire and Froyo

Hi all. I'm new to all this after sacking my iphone in favour of the wonderful Desire a couple of weeks ago. I bought the phone on an O2 (UK) pay and go contract and have put my old iphone sim in which works fine. I am keen to get the 2.2 update so paid to unlock my phone having read that unlocked phones can get it now. However, my phone appears to be unlocked as I can use my wife's 3 sim in there but I still can't get the update yet. How do I do this? Do I need to put in a sim from a provider that has released the update already or is there another way round this? Any help would be appreciated as I am learning my way round what appears to be a great OS and phone, even though I appear to have wasted cash unlocking it!
Thanks, in advance.
Note to self-read the forums..!
I've seen how to do it via the Gold card method but would appreciate advice as to which ROM to use...I'm assuming as I'm branded to O2 the O2 specific one is correct? 124865?
I can't post links yet unfortunately.

[Q] SIM Unlocking [smart]phones nowadays

Hey, everyone!
I was perusing the forums for sim unlocking an HTC 7 pro. Many years have passed since I adquired my 8125, and it is still serving me faithfully. Yes, it is still working
Back then we just had to flash the roms, I think the radio part did the trick, and then phone was thus unlocked.
But the couple of hours I spent today looking for some insight only led me to 3rd party sites which charge money for sim unlocks. Those require the carrier to be mentioned in order for them to provide an unlocking code. So I can't just buy a phone off ebay and expect to get a code from those sites. US cellular, for instance, is never listed on them. Besides, $25 is not bucks where I live >.>
Is that really how SIM unlockings are handled here now, or have I just been really unlucky with my skimmings and searches?
TYVM, have a great day!
I believe there is no free option in order to get the HTC 7 Pro unlocked, unless you can get the seller to call their cell phone provider to get the code. Most, if not all, windows phones don't have a free option to unlock but I could be wrong on that. But if you already have a HTC 7 Pro I think you're gonna have to cough up some cash and use some unlocking websites...
Well, thanks for the straight answer.
Oh, no, I don't have one, yet. I was thinking of Buying one off Ebay, used and locked. It is harsh having to pay for switching carriers, but maybe that is what they had intended with their locking in the first place
Hmmm. Do you know, by chance, if this is the norm for smartphones recently, not being able to sim unlock them at home? Or is this device special for that matter? or was it not popular enough to tinker with it?
TY, again. Peace
I wouldn't say your device special in regards to that, all phones come SIM locked. Its just some android phones are easier to unlock during the process of rooting phones. I know for my old HTC touch running windows, it was easy to unlock since you basically had to move a couple files. I think windows 7 in general makes it harder in general to unlock as opposed to android.
hi, i have Huawi U8150 and it's network locked i can't run all the SIM card.. it can be unlock..?

[Q] AT&T Nexus S International Unlock Help?

Hi all, my parents are heading out of the country soon. They wanted to pick up a cheap android phone to take with them and to give to a relative there, and I was suggesting the Nexus S (it's around $100 on craigslist and ebay)
However, I'm curious if there is any sort of carrier-lock placed by AT&T on their phones that makes it so I can't slap in another SIM card from an international provider?
I've always heard nexuses don't have any carrier locks, but wanted to clarify. If it does have a carrier-lock, is there an easy guide to getting around it?
Thanks in advance!
There is no lock.
Sweet! So I can just pop in any SIM card and get service (don't need data really)?
Yes. As long as the carrier supports the bands the phone uses. Almost all do.

[Q] Active simlock on TF300TL from AT&T

I came into possession of 4G/LTE tablet Asus imported from the U.S., but not everything is as it should be.
Namely, it turned out that the tablet is sim locked for AT&T. I searched XDA far and wide and have not found a way to remove it (unfortunately not as easy as in the case of telephones).
Due to the fact that I work in a computer reseller company I have access to a unlocked version, which is not sim locked.
And this raises the question:
Is it possible (with app or via adb) to clone (1:1) a file system from unlocked one and put it into locked one? Whether it make a difference?
I'm not asking if changing ROM will remove sim lock (cus it won't) but there might be some important files that contains information about sim lock which after replacing will do the trick

Are you sure? Con somebody confirm that?
Anyone? I'm in the same boat.
You can't. My boss had Dell streak locket to Vodaphone and changing ROM didn't help. He had to receive SIM unlock code from Vodaphone.
Besides that, if you live in USA, unlocking SIM is illegal from one month ago. Best option is to trade locked for unlocked one.

Only illegal if it was purchased new, after that law went into effect...2/1/13 I believe.
There have been like 4 or 5 different threads here all asking the same question:
No so far there is not a working UNLOCK solution (other than maybe getting a very understanding CSR at AT&T. Maybe just maybe if you told them you were traveling to Mexico/Canada and wanted to use a local Pay as you go data plan...then maybe...but probably not)

[Q] I can't find sim unlock code for Samsung Note 3 n900W8

Hello XDA-Developers,
I am at my wits end. I can not for the life of me find a Sim Unlock code for my Samsung Note 3 N900W8.
I will start from the beginning... I purchased this phone from a woman who is the manager of a telecommunications in London ON. She listed the phone on Kijiji as "Brand new in box, unlocked!". I met her at a kiosk for my carrier to test the phone on one of their sim cards. It turned out the phone was sim locked. She seemed nice enough and genuinely surprised when it came up sim locked. She said she had received the phone as a promotional gift from her company, but didn't like the size of it and wanted to use her existing phone. She asked me if I would prefer to have her get it unlocked or she would take 50$ off of our originally agreed price to put towards the unlocking cost. I opted to get it unlocked myself, my mistake lol.
First I had to find out which carrier it was locked to so through a process of elimination I figured out it was locked to Bell. I contacted Bell and asked to get a sim unlock code from them. They said that they have no record of my phone in any of their data bases and that I should contact Samsung and confirm that my phone is locked to Bell. I contacted Samsung who confirmed that my phone is locked to Bell. I contacted Bell again and they put me through to tech support. He was a nice guy, but didn't give me the answer I wanted lol. He said that because my IMEI is not in any of their data bases that there's no way for him to give me a code. He suggested flashing a different kernel and it would remove the sim lock? I'm sorry I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff. Anyways, I have taken the phone to 3 reputable phone repare shops in my area and tried cellun******.net. All have said that they can't find an unlock code?
You guys are my last resort, any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thank You!
