[Q] Rom help - Samsung Infuse 4G

What is the best rom out there for the infuse rite now ?

its all relative ..try them and see ..i have tried three but i must say that ZEUS is by far my favorite ..smooth, fast, battery life ..no issues whatsoever for me!! this is my opinion!!

based on my experience if you like to tweak and customize your phone alot i would go with Cyanogen Mod.
if you theme yours alot then MiUi
the most stable one out there that supports Over Clocking would have to be DlevRom 5.0 Infuse Edition hands down.
Zeus ROM is stable but doesnt offer the customization that other ROMS have.
JVT Black 7.2 i liked alot cause it was all black and i could Over Clock it but it was a bit laggy and needed some updating.
The Doctors ROM is decent but needs some work.
these are just my opinions so i hope other people dont take offense.
there are alot of roms out there.
you just have to flash them all to see which one you like haha
Doctors ROM > JVT Black 7.2 > Zeus ROM > MiUi > DlevROM 5.0 > Cm7

If you look through the questions thread you'll see that this question gets asked every other day. From my experience it's personal preference. I don't like being on a rom for more than a day or two so i have to flash something else. You have to try them out yourself to see what you would like.

[Q] Best Nexus S Rom?

Hi guys,
I was wondering if I could get some advice. I had the Nexus One and had Cyanogen running on it, which I loved. I got the nexus S at christmas and love it... the random reboots did annoy me until 2.3.3 came out. Recently I rooted the phone and flashed modaco custom ROM based on 2.3.3 with the KB3 radio and GRI 54 base.
I was wondering if your guys opinions, what is the best ROM to flash, that is stable, with not random boots etc. but an improvment on what I have?
Thanks!!
They're all great. Try them all and see which you like the best.
Personally, I like CM 7 because of the T-Mobile theme engine that allows me to change the appearance of the ROM with the touch of a button. No more constant flashing of themes for me!
CM, only CM)
I was a CM7 fanboy untill i tried MIUI
MIUI without a seconds doubt...

I've tried a lot and although they all have their advantages I always come back to CM. It generally picks up all the great little mods that the community develop not to mention all its own great features.
Bear in mind that it is still not technically stable yet though R2 has been pretty good for me with only a couple of reboots since installing on the day it was released. Once we get the full stable CM7 it will be a tough one to beat
Cyanogen Mod 7 only.

I will elaborate. I've run every ROM available since January (when I got my NS). I've tried almost every release of those ROMs as well and I can honestly say that they are all awesome for different reasons. I try really hard not to be biased to one ROM or one developer because it tends to cloud your ability to try different things with an open mind. Right now I have NANDroid backups of CM7rc2, MIUI, Axura, NSCollab, Stock 2.3.3, Stock 2.3.3 Deodexed, and Honeycomb.
I'm always sad to see these thread because I think its asking the wrong question altogether. What these threads should ask is "What is your daily driver?" because "best" is so subjective to uses and personal preference. What some love about CM7 is also what many other hate. The iOS look of MIUI is both on of its most loved and hated qualities. Whatever tweaks a particular dev or team of devs seems fit to include may be exactly what a person wants or what a person doesn't want.
Now, I've said my diatribe and I'll answer the other question: "What is your daily driver?"
I have two. Some days I run CM7rc2, some days I run Axura. Once the white background issue is cleared up in MIUI, I'll add that to the rotation as well.
Cm7. Other roms are good for if you're bored and want to flash something new. Pretty sure everyone ends up on cm7 for stability and features better than stock.
Axura is my everyday driver. Its fast and its been the most stable for me.

I must agree entirely. I tried CM7 for awhile but it wasn't stable enough for me. I've never had a ROM as stable and fast and clean looking as Axura! I'd recommended at least giving a few of them a try though. The stickied thread by Kenvan is a wonderful resource!

CM7 for me.. the settings that CM7 offer are just too good to give up.
Axura for speed and animation, and CM for usability.
I use axura as a main rom and stock as backup

Stable ROM for lite Android user (At&t Nexus)

I really hate to start another "best ROM" thread but I need some help from experienced Nexus users. I recently rooted my girls Nexus S in order to get rid of some of the bugs with the stock ROM. I put the latest CM stable on the phone but after a few days she started complaining about random reboots. I'm looking for a stable (stable being the keyword) ROM, with maybe a few added features. Also considering just putting a custom kernel with the stock ROM but once again looking stability. I wish I could just steal her phone for a week and find out for myself but sadly I cannot. Thanks for any suggestions!
oxygen seems to be your best bet. stability, functionality, and great features (like status bar toggles). it's pretty much the gold standard and i've yet to find any fault with it.

if you wanna have stable one , stock ,oxygen and CM7 are your options
but i strongly suggest you try MIUI at least once , specially with these tweaked version such as Brainmaster's

Yeah, I know about MIUI as I've used it on my Shift but I think she would like to stick to more Vanilla Android. CM7 is where I had problems on the phone.. several random reboots. I'm going to snag her phone today or tomorrow and try Oxygen and Stock with a custom kernel.

If u are looking for a stock looking rom I would say try bugles beast rom. Its stock but with modifications to improve user experience. I've never had issues with his rom no reboots or freezes. And it has great battery life. But I will also vote for brainmaster miui. Very smooth. Ohh and another good one is dreamsforgotten tsm pool party rom. It has custom lockscreens and its snappy and smooth.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm just going to have to steal her phone and try out a few of the different ROMs/kernels ya'll suggested. Btw, I've never been a big fan of Sammy but after getting it rooted and ROM'ed, the Nexus S is a bit pretty slick device.

As many people said, Oxygen will be your best choice. But u definitely want to give Bugless Beast a chance.

Keep in mind, the *best* ROM varies from person to person.
That being said, Check this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=943
For AOSP Roms, I personally like Liquid Smooth. Fast, stable ROM
and its been themed/skinned to look a great deal like Ice Cream Sandwich.
CyanogenMod 7 is another popular ROM for T-Bolt. Even tho it's not "officially"
supported, it appears to work just fine.
(Liquid Smooth is the ROM I'm currently running).
If you like SENSE Roms, the BAMF series seems to be quite popular and
the IKream series also looks great.
I personally suggest that you hack the phone with Revolutionary, then
do a full backup with ClockWorkMod. After that, you can flash all the ROMs
you want with a simple restore to put you back to stock.
Since you're experimenting with ROMs, I suggest you stick with ROMs that
do not require a new Radio. Radio's can brick your phone and there are plenty
of ROMs out that work with the Stock Radio.
Good Luck!
I really like Liquid Smooth 3.2. Its super fast and looks amazing. It's much like CM7 but I like it better. I rarely have force closes or any bugs at all.
Liquid 3.2 for AOSP with IMO's latest kernel. Don't forget to run speedtweak.sh after installing kernel.
Infected eternity Sense 3.5 with 3d custom Rosie and CPU running at 1.5.
If you like sense 2.1, well than you have no taste lol.
i have liquid smooth 3.2 installed and it run very nicely... i was wondering if anyone knows where to find some nice themes for this rom? i did a search but i cant seem to find any themes for this rom, is there a ICS theme available?
I use infected eternity 3.5 and love it. Good fast Rom with plenty of support.

The absolute BEST ROM (for me!) is the one I run. The BEST ROM for your cousin will be the one he likes.
I run Eternity, I also like Liquid Smooth and (oddly enough) I also like the stock ROM but rooted and de-crapified.
i personally like DV's miui but its not the stablest yet.

I am about to flash Eternity because of all the awesome things I have heard about it! I had Gingeritis 3D, but it's just too slow for for me after being on it for 2 months.
I can very highly recommend ThunderStick Full Blown if you want a Sense 3.0 ROM.
Using IMO's new 6.1 leanKernal, the MR4 radio... this thing is amazing.
So smooth, no lag whatsoever, and amazing battery life. I believe its the best Sense 3.0 ROM I've tried yet.

There always has to be one of these guys ^, the self appointed search police (btw, your link pops up "no matches" for me).
Some guys read every post ever posted, and complain about all of the ones not interesting enough for them. Rom's change on a daily basis, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with this thread. Even though I have had my TB since it was released, and have followed this forum ever since, I am still interested to see others opinions on CURRENT ROM's. That is why I opened this thread, why did you?
To the OP, I dual boot Gingeritis 1.2 (mainly because it came with the miui bar, even though pvy's app can be had separately in the market now) and CM7 (need it for work).
IMHO The best most stable is Eternity. It also has the best support
The best is the one that gives you the features you need. Everyone has different needs and taste

[Q] Recommended ROM on Samsung Infuse R3VELATION/ZEUS/Vagabond

Hi all,
Please recommend me some nice ROM on the following parameters:
1. Must have Features:
- Stable : Should be very stable, no freezing, no crashes and no major bugs/flows etc.
- Should be fast, responsive and smooth (without overclocking).
- Good Battery Life
- Security: Secure against hackers/viruses /Trojans etc (It should atleast bulletproof if not bomb proof). Hey I am not demanding military level
- Good signal reception for making voice calls and using data over 2G/EDGE/3G network. My country has GSM Band frequency 900/1800/2100. (I would not mind to flash individual modem for that if anybody recommends).
- Good GPS performance.
- No ATT bloatware, FB etc.
2. Some add on features:
- Customization: It would be good if the ROM has some nice customization features as comparison to stock version.
- Good Developer support for issues/updates etc.
3. I dont mind if following features/issues are unsolved in rom
- HDMI out feature
- Bluetooth headset feature (Would be good if Bluetooth file transfer can work).
- 4G network
- Wifi tethering
- Theming/animations etc.
I have tried to narrow down following ROMs:
1. R3VELATION (UCLB3 based)
2. ZEUS (UCKL2 based)
3. Vagabond ROM (UCLB3 based)
4. Any other ROM if some one wants to recommend …….
Thanks for visiting
Nits
Im running ZEUS. my 1st ROM ever. and im not sure i ever want to change.
i believe vegabond is the only one that has hdmi out that works besides that all are good roms it all comes down to personel taste

ZEUS here since it dropped in the dev section.
And the only reason VAgabond HDMI works it b/c it has the stock kernel.
Most of the Infuse native roms based off of leaks are pretty damn stable if you ask me. (that includes the new Revelation Rom)
Vagabond
All the ROM's are good ROM's. I have tried them all and had no problems. I happen to like the base color scheme of Vagabond and the fact that the dev has taken out the most bloatware - including the Tethering Manager- which can be important at times. Currently running Vagabond and seem to get the best battery life out of it - probably because of less bloatware,
All the new Rom are completely debloaded bro

I think i need to install these 3 ROMs one by one for some days to test on my parameters at Point No.1 to finally settle for one.
had zeus and then reva , i liked reva cause it had less lags due to upon unlocking or getting a calll, silk smooth , did not, even try try stock , first day i got,my phone it was rooted and flashed , but since i heard the stock one, vagaboom had beter battery i might try it out next week, this week im just testing out reva

I was skeptical when I moved from Infused to Zeus... and it was worth the try... am still on Zeus... beta version
By the way, mine's underclocked to 800, and still have no lag.
I am using Infused 2.2.3 and am loving it. My first ROM. Anyone else using this one?
Zeus is great!
I'm currently on R3velation but with ICS Revamped theme added, aosp lockscreen added, and entropy DD kernal. I guess I would say use anything by Dman & the collective....
Zeus is the most stable right now. And im sure R3v will have most sod's and such worked out soon.
ive tried all three
I have used all three roms and my personal preference is R3velations. its very new and the fasted i have ever used my phone moves right through pages. i had zeus before this and its very solid also and has a ton of addons which make it nice for personalization. they both are similar and very different in their own ways. i love both of em. the infused if you need hdmi, i didnt like and hdmi dont matter too much to me. ill give it up for the tweaks. all these roms are very easy to flash and easy to set up. just like the guys always say make sure u follow directions....
ran MIUI for the longest time.. loved the customization.. but was buggy at times and never knew what the next update would bring or lose..
ran Infused for a while.. it was pretty good
then I switched to Zeus... awesome ROM... very smooth and stable.. and the themes were really nice!
now I am running R3velation. I personally love dark themes. It is super smooth! The OTA app is pretty awesome.. makes downloading and changing themes and icons super easy. The animations are amazing!!!!
I am sticking with R3velation!!!

Infused 2.2.3 was the first Rom that I flashed. It was good. Never had any issues with it. Then, after reading the posts on XDA and over at androidcentral, decided to Flash Zeus (v5). Love it. Can do so much more than with Infused, and the support is fantastic. Considering R3velation, but am very happy with Zeus for the time being.
try the roms and gives them half week to settle...
you mention 3 roms, I dont think that one is better than another, it is what our "need" want to satisfied...
devs here are so pro, so dont worry....
its like giving you the choose between ferrari or lamborgini... theyr all good
All three of those roms you mentioned are great roms. Can't go wrong with any of them. I'd also like to throw cm7 on that list since you said HDMI out and Bluetooth audio isn't important. However, it does have tons of customizations.

Hi all,
Is there any feature available in any ROM/Kernel/Mod by which i can bypass need of pressing power button or vol up down button to bring screen on. (without using Tap-Tap App of market as it keep sensor on and eats battery).
When screen lights go off i just wana press anywhere on screen to bring it back.
I will pay 10$ for that.
Thanks

IF you think about how the application has to function, what you are asking is not plausible.
The phone is never allow to sleep in order to detect the touch.
Accidental touch will also turn on the display.
Your battery wont last any more than 6-8 hours if you're lucky.

[Q] Whats the best ROM for i9020T

Dear friends,
I have Nexus S on t-mobile ICS 4.0.4, i would like to know which one is the best of best room for my phone.
I want a rom that i can count on and theme.
i have found two of theme here on site..
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1483033
2) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425344
Which one can i use for my t-mobile i9020t
Well, everyone will like a different ROM. This is mostly a personal question and you will have to test a few before you decide which one you like more.
Bedalus benchmarks might tip the scale:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1481856
Now, if you ask me, I really like MIUIXperience since it offers nice theming over MIUI (loving Xperia launcher and other stuff). Haven't had any problems with it (except for some known bugs that the DEV is working on).
koush isnt making roms, not for the nexus s at least. you probably meant cm9, which is not koushes work. plus there are many more roms out in the dev section, some are more popular than the roms that you listed.
Where is Bugless Beast on poll!?
Like stated previously, it is all completely up to you. Just try them all until you find the one you like
I'll tell you about my experiences though with CyberGR v10 (previous ROM) and Bugless Beast (current ROM):
CyberGR was great but there were too may mods I didn't personally need. Also, different applications would lag at times like email, facebook, or even the T9 dialer (sometimes it would up to 5 seconds to pull up my dialer and contacts which was ultra annoying). I tried many different kernels and overclocking options but it still lagged or even rebooted. Thus I decided to change.
I switched to Bugless Beast and I am very happy with it as my daily driver. It is very simple mod and close to stock ICS and I just applied my own additional modifications to suit my needs like the kernel change to support BLN, BLD, and voodoo. This ROM is very snappy, has a great battery life, and everything works as far as I know even with my modifications.
May I ask, how do you edit the image files of a custom rom to remove few applications and change the language files
