I think most of us who are running CM7/MIUI or ICS have been using Volume+ without issue. I don't think it makes the volume any louder, at least I haven't noticed. Definitely the preferred volume app for anyone running a custom ROM.

Volume+ is not the same as Volume Control.
Thanks,it works nice on my KF.
Hello, Would you mind sharing how you were able to sideload the app? I tried ES File Explorer and other file manager apps, but all prompted me to use the Kindle's package installer, which didn't do anything when I clicked the Install button.
Mine is rooted.
Thank you!
I use Equalizer App and it works better than any other I have tried for increasing volume on my phone and kindle fire. Works for all my games, music, movies, etc.

Volume Control is great for hiding a vol slider along top, bottom, or sides to change the volume.
Do NOT watch anime while boosting volume. Ive gone through 3 speakers on various devices doing exactly this. All that yelling is just too much for these little speakers lol

You can get volume + for the Fire for $1.44 usd from Amazon. It will save you about 20 cents.

I would rather spend the extra twenty cents on the Android market.Amazon doesn't give as nearly much kickback to the developer as Google does. Plus the Android market version will update way faster than the Amazon market version.
I use volume + on all of my devices and as long as you have it set properly so that the sound isn't crackling you should be fine. Once you hear any distortion it is time to turn the settings down because you don't want to destroy your speakers. Be safe with this Program!

I doubt it unless he jacked his phone using qpst. You do have to be carefull.
I'll have to give this a try when I get home and get a chance to read up on the op from the evo thread.

Volume+ worked for me. You just have to be careful and not set it to loud.
I've got all the software setup and drivers installed. The QPST could see my phone but it kept giving me an error when I click to connect to my phone. O well guess I'll live with the low volume of this phone till another method is found.

not sure if we can even do this as i cannot get my tbolt into DIAG mode.... anybody know what the code is to do this?

play with the setting while listening to music... that's what i did and i have hardly any distortion.
so i read that the volume+ app will boost sound, it does work for me with the music app but my transformer is already really loud for music.
i want to boost the volume while watching movies as i have some mkvs and avis with very low volume, and volume+ does not seem to work for that through the speakers. haven't tested the headset.
i'm currently not rooted, but if possible i'd root to do this. I just want to be able to boost the volume while watching movies and then go back to normal when i'm doing anything else.
Any ideas?

thanks for the complete lack of help.
You asked for any thoughts. I pointed out an option that you haven't mentioned yet. There's only so much you can do to force the volume to go louder from a software point of view as well as the actual speakers themselves. Thus consider a hardware option of buying external speakers which not only allows you to have louder volume depending on which speakers you buy, as well as it allows you to go back to normal by unplugging them.

Volume+ worked fine for me on the Transformer. You do have to experiment with it a bit. On mine I would start a song playing then open V+, I would set the EQ and volume then hit "enable" and listen to the difference. Some EQ settings and volume settings actually made the sound quieter. For example boosting the volume over 12 made the volume much quieter. I can't remember which EQ setting had that effect but I think in the end I used 11 for the volume (it gets pretty loud and a little distorted if you turn it up all the way after this with the rocker switch, but i figured I could keep that lower anyway) and I used "good quality" for the EQ. Yes I am rooted running prime 1.7 and clemsons version4 kernel. Not sure if you will have the exact same results but hope this helps anyway.

downloan this app to fix the sound but u have to root for it to work https://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.controlapp&feature=search_result
and also download this to make it even better, https://market.android.com/details?id=com.smartandroidapps.equalizer&feature=search_result u need to get the paid app to save ur own presets. hopes this helps
Not sure why this isn't. Bigger topic or why it hasn't been addressed. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say the speaker volume is disappointing. Any way to increase it? Volume control + doesn't work as it doesn't let you increase the volume past factory limitations. Voodoo sound is only for increasing headphone jack quality.
anyone?

Volume+ works for me as well nothing special has to be done I just go into the Speaker Settings, enable the speaker modifications and increase the volume level. I have no idea why you are having problems but there is no doubt that this app makes my phone much louder.
As it was said by the developer, volume+ will not work with a stock rom. Last time I looked, he said it will work with miui and cyanogenmod. Read the notes on the market and his website.

Okay, I'm running Pete's stock rooted 2.3.7. I just removed voodoo and installed volume+. It's working with both speaker and headphone. It is possible that having both installed, volume won't work. It is also possible that since I removed voodoo, volume is working. Increasing the volume limit, step by step, that the boost isn't easily noticeable. I don't suggest this without lowering the main volume from system first. After I got past 8 and around 11, there was a noticeable increase in volume with an increase of distortion too. Going from that level back down to 0, I noticed it right away.
I think the problem before was the increase was so slight when compared to voodoo that it didn't seem like it was working. I'm sure having voodoo installed, even though disabled, was keeping volume from working. Now when I get some time I gotta play with the eq and see what happens.
I prefer voodoo for headphones. It might be my imagination but I think it's cleaner sounding.

You are using the wrong app. Its called Volume+ there is no control in the name.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
This is the app we're talking about:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12599609#post12599609
If you're on CM7 or alike you must first use Titanium Backup to remove DSP manager because it will interfere with it.
If you're on stock, use "best quality" setting on the latest version. That's the only one which seems to make a difference when changing the level but only on stock ROM.
I just discovered why it seemed like the eq wasn't working. If you have volume+ at 0, you won't hear any changes in tone when playing with sliders or presets. You need to get the volume level of the app up to a noticeable level, then you will hear a difference with tone and dsp. The developer even said in his FAQ that volume+ is software controlled and voodoo is hardware controlled. Kinda like the difference between hardware and software decoding when watching movie files.
Equalizer by smart studios it works on music, headphones etc

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for the best volume control solution for a Kindle Fire running CM7. Are there any solutions that allow me to change volume in-app?
Here you go:
https://market.android.com/details?id=rubberbigpepper.VolumeControl
This app, Volume Control, lets you slide your finger across the edge of the screen and it'll increase/decrease your volume no matter what app you're using.
Thanks
Perfect.

Okay so today I'm going to show you how to make your music in both your speakers, as well as your earphones really loud.
We're going to be using the app "Volume+" which is located on the marketplace for $1.99 I think. But in the applications description it says if you visit the developers website http://androidaudiohacks.com you can get it for free. But I'm going to save you the trouble and just give you the link it has on there http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56466503/Builds/VolumePlusv1.9.0.1-FREE.apk
So download that and do the following: (Lets start out with earphones)
-Click "Headset Settings"
-Check "Audio Modifications" this will turn on the Volume Boosting.
-You will then click "Volume Level" on there and select "+1" so this is where it gets tricky.
-After doing that you will need to put your volume all the way up then repeat the process,(click +2, volume all the way up, +3 etc...you can go all the way up to 20)
This only works for like Pandora and Google Music, but I got it to work on PowerAmp(My favorite music player) to do that follow this next small guide...
-Open up PowerAmp
-Press 'Menu' button
-Select 'More'
-Select 'Settings'
-Select 'AudioEngine'
-Select 'Advanced Tweaks'
-Disable Direct Volume Control
Thats it! It should now work for this also!
So yeah guys I just found this as a really nice tweak and thought I'd share with you guys, enjoy!
***ADDITIONAL DETAILS: This can/and may blow out your speakers, as said so by Kenneth.Torres: "I wouldn't suggest going about 10 for speakers, it distorts the sound. And do not go past 12 it will possibly blow up your speakers. "
---But with the earphones I have no problem at all and they sound crazy loud, and not bad at all. Using them at 20.
