[Q] ICS Firmware Issues - HTC Sensation

I've been using VirtuousICS with pretty much terrible battery issues (drains, wrong value, random battery drop) so I went back down and flashed Android Rev HD 3.611.
Im still getting a really weird battery issue however, 4ext read my battery was at 23% I restarted the phone and then it read that it was fully charged.
I thought it was the Kernal but with the new flash the kernal was changed so it cant be that
I've gone into clockwork and deleted the battery values, so im thinking now is that its the ICS firmware that im still running which is plaguing my battery.
Does anyone know if I can go back down to a gingerbread firmware that I can run instead of my current ICS firmware?

I had these issues with the GB firmware, so I'd be careful. May not resolve the issue.
Have you tried the latest 4.0.3 ICS firmware?
I found reflashing a new version of recovery fixed these issues for me on GB.

Not yet, can I have a download?
and I just flash and then remove from Sd right?

please help phone random restart

ok so a while ago i decided to try gb and found it was worse than froyo so i reverted back to froyo. but when i was in gb i had so many problems like radio disconnect and random restarts. now both were installed useing cwm so im wondering could my phone still have the bad ep1w radio and be running froyo? or is that not possible?

no if you used Odin to flash back to EE4 then you have the EE4 radios, if you flashed stock froyo/custom froyo in CWM then most likely you still have the GB modems which you can check by seeing what it says under baseband in about phone settings... if it is still GB radios no problem just Odin the EE4 ones, however in my personal experience those were horrible radios and my phone works best with the GB ones
hmm ok well i tryed the gummy gbe 2.0 and thats when i started getting reboot problems and radio cut outs. so i reflashed ee4. ill try a odin flash instead of a cwm flash.

[Q] Droid Charge Baseband-Help

Ok..I always try to figure it out by searching the forums...could not get there this time. I had Humbles rom on the phone...then I realized I should update my Baseband...so the mission starts.. I started on Basband ep3 on both the first and second lines..after reading it sounded like I needed to flash back to stock to get the update to ee4....I first deactivated voodo by adding the file directly ...reset phone then waited while the sexy voice said it was deactivated... then I flashed the stock rom...when I powered up the the phone on stock ...it did download the update...while installing the update it crashes and does not install correctly...so after messing around I re-flashed the stock rom and then downloaded the update again.....same thing happened.....then after reading some more I thought maybe my partitions where jacked so I flashed charge.pit ...now my phone wouldn't even show signs of life...stressing a bit ....I was able to flash Hummble 4.0 which brought my phone back to life...happy that it is working I'm now back where I originally started but now I'm on Ep1...even worse than before I started..lol
Does anyone have any ideas why it would not update? any help would be great!
Ep3 is the newest radio version. Ep1 is the second newest. And ee4 is the oldest. So you were really trying to unupdate. You are fine with the ep1 modems. But if you want to upgrade flash the ep3h radios through Odin.

Yep
I'm confused....thanks for the clarification.... I thought I had to go to stock to get any updates...whats with all the posts talking about that?
any quick link to where I could download the ep3 for odin? much appreciated

Here ya go - EP3 Modem
The only reason you ever need to go back to stock is if you want to "unroot" your phone or to fix soft bricks. The baseband version corrosponds to the type of radios your phone is running (how you get your signal). And the radios are always independent of your ROM. Here's a short overview of the different radios from beginning to present.
ED1: Original charge modem. (sucked).
ED2: still sucks.
EE4: Latest official update for the droid charge. This is the radio that most Froyo Roms are based off of.
<I'm going to skip over a few because they are kind of non-existant now>
EP1Q: A leaked Gingerbread Radio. Significant improvements in signal strength.
EP1W: Improves upon EP1Q radio by handling data switching better. (A lot of Gingerbread ROMS are based off of this radio).
EP3H: The newest radio and probably the best. Some small improvements in data switching and got rid of occasional "popping" sounds from EP1W radio. Most of the newest ROMS use this radio as a base (Meaning they are optimized to use this radio).
Long story short, use the latest Radios. They always bring improvements. =)

Factory Reset

I've been experiencing the same battery jumps that others have (randomly turn off, battery drops, turning off and then having more battery etc etc)
I was wondering if I can factory reset with S-off.
Are there any files that I need or anything to do a correct factory reset.
What is it you mean by factory reset?
The wiping of all data etc or wiping and returning the ROM you got the phone with?
Edit: Either way both are possible with S-OFF
Sorry for the poorly worded question?
I've been having so many issues with battery drain, random turns offs, battery resets I just want to turn the phone back to the way it was when i got it out of the box.
Stock Kernal, Stock Firmware, Stock OS.
Is there a thread or ROM that I need to look at?
its all in the first post but a way down - read very carefully my friend
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
What ROM, firmware, radio etc are you currently running?
Check Settings > About phone
You should be able to find most info there, radio version will be called baseband.
Rom: ARHD 4.1.3 by mike1986
Firmware: I believe its 1.17 but im not sure
Android Verison 2.3.5
Kernel Version: Sebastian Faux 0.2.8
Radio Version: 11.65.3504.00P
Build Number: 2.08.401.1 CL
Im also running OSX a lot of the guides im reading have information for PC's so dont think I havent done any research im just a little lost.
Some of the issues you will be having will be due to that ROM being in beta,
also I see your using the radio from the latest ICS RUU leak which is not the recommend radio to be using with that ROM.
If I was you I would attempt to flash the stable version of the ARHD ROM HERE
Ensure you read the post carefully and follow each step. I would recommend having SuperCID before flashing the firmware and super wipe before flashing the ROM.
And make sure you use the recommend radio also clearly pointed out in the post.
EDIT:
If you have issues flashing the radio as described by mike1986 have a look here and download a flashable .zip for the following radio, which you can then flash from your recovery
10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2
If all that seems to scary it may not have been such a good idea to jump in the deep end. Take a look at running an RUU as mentioned already in this thread information can be found HERE at the bottom of the first post
As always ensure you are 100% sure and happy you know what you are doing and double check everything before you do anything, as any of these processes done incorrectly could brick your phone
Nah none of that seems scary, ive flashed roms and firmwares and kernels before I just wasnt aware of the radio problem. Ill try to flash the radio and report back.
EDIT:
I wasn't aware that ARHD 4.1.3 was a beta.
Can I flash the radio without using ADB I had issues setting it up on my Mac

In my last reply I included a link to a flashable version of the radio. Good luck and let us know how you get on
So everything seemed to go well.
I flashed the old radio and the stable version of ARHD.
My phone was going great for about 4 hours.
Then bam the battery died and when it rebooted it had 8% battery, before it died it had near almost half, looking at the battery graph I can see a part when the graph has a straight line, which im pretty sure isnt right
im charging it now but im not sure what the issue could be.
Still considering a reflash to factory, but im not even sure that would work.
Any help would be more than appreciated.
Thank you.
I had this issue when I just flash a Rom.... Try to discharge it all the way down then charge it full to 100%... Be sure its 100% not the green led indicator... When you're fully charge just wipe the battery cache....
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G with Beats
See but how do I know that its actually completely discharged when it can get low die and then I turn it back on and its at 50%
The same for knowing when it is fully charged?
I dont want to calibrate the battery when it is not perfectly being read.
I tend to leave it on charge throughout the night and then as mentioned wipe the battery stats. Once you have done that if its stable use the ROM for a good few days to a week and the battery will sort its self out

My Sensation reboots sometimes

Hey guys,
I´m new at this forum and I have a question
First I will show you some informations about my Phone:
-My Phone is S-OFF and rooted
-HBOOT 1.27.1100
-Radio 10.14.9035
-current Rom: CM9 alpha Rom
I used some different roms (first some Andorid 2.3.5 rom and later ICS Roms), but my Phone sometimes suddenly shutdown. Sometimes after a few hours, or sometimes after a few days.
It is still the same if I use the original Rom from HTC (with Android 2.3.4 with Sense 3.0).
I don´t know where the problem is ( maybe a hardware error? ), but I hope somebody can help .
I often resseted my phone, but it doesn´t take any effect. I hope there is any log on the phone which I can send you, but i don´t know where it could be
greets
Tobi
Do you use the original battery?
I got the same problems when I use an Anker battery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515181
I still use the original battery...
Have you made sure the firmware is correct for each rom you experience problems with?
I assume you have updated it from original since boot = 1.27
Latest builds need 3.30
Most ics need 3.24/3.25
Some ics (now only older builds i think) and all gb run on 3.12
Check here for info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618
I think i flashed 3.30 on my Phone for the newest ICS, but the problem is, that the problem was still there when I used the original rom unrooted with the original bootloader...
Yes I think 3.30 = 1.27, I've not got round to flashing yet.
Maybe its overheating = rebooting?
It might be worth restoring to stock then sending for repair since issue was present in factory state.

Problem with that is that there is a chance the phone will work properly when they're going to test it... they will send it back unrepaired...

i don´t hope so...
It is true my phone is sometime hot, so I think it is overheating, but often it is still cold and suddenly shutdown. I think I flash it now to stock and write with amazon. Maybe I would have a bit more luck there.

[Q] Random soft and hard reboots on any stock based gb rom?

So I went back to stock froyo and did a complete wipe of everything, even my sd cards. then I plugged into kies mini and updated to gingerbread, and about every time my phone went into standby mode after maybe 10 minutes it would do a soft reboot. I thought it might just be a problem with the stock rom, so I rooted and got a custom kernel, and I installed many different stock based gingerbread roms, all with the same effect. then, I tried cm7 and had NO PROBLEM with the reboots. also, I have no problems on any froyo roms or any aosp based roms. thanks for any help with this
Try using the one click to stock or the updated odin packages. Follow their instructions to the letter....

That didn't work either...

Reboots
I was running MIUI on my phone and had problems and took it to the local ATT repair shop and of course their solution was to clear out the phone and revert back to stock Gingerbread UCLB. It seemed to run well for awhile, but after about two weeks I started having random and multiple reboots too. I then odin'ed the rooted stock gingerbread (I believe posted by Entrophy) and loaded the RemICS 1.2a Rom. It seems much faster and smoother than the stock rom. We will see how it lasts. Does anyone seem to have problems with loaded Roms seeming to deteriorate after awhile? It seems like on both my Infuse and a Captivate that I have, the performance and stability seems to go bad over time...
