Download link of the RUU file:
http://www.multiupload.com/L3PMXNYAAY
RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_3.13.707.4 (PD98IMG)
This is a modified version of the ROM. It contains no firmware for the phone. If you want to update RADIO and FIRMWARE please download the RUU first and flash it.
I did this changes to the ROM:
1. ROM is rooted
2. Busybox installed
3. Changed the languages availability to european languages:
ENGLISH, GERMAN, FRENCH, ITALIAN
4. content is untouched
5. Changed the file and folder Date to: 06. January 2012 03:13 AM
6. Now the problem with the unformated cache issue should be solved. When you install the PD98IMG.zip the CACHE partition should be formated by default.
7. PD98IMG contains the 4ext Touch Recovery 1.0.0.7
Hope you enjoy this!

It stuck on boot loader.
Any solution????

Will the new release have beats audio? thanks

where is mrt69?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using XDA App

People, the Rooted version is for devices that has firmware version 3.13.707.4 (Asian DHD) and contains no firmware inside as what the mrt69 has said on his first post. That certainly means that your device will not boot if you flashed ONLY the Rooted version.
If your current build number is not 3.13.707.4, you will have to flash the RUU first. However, DHDs that do not have asian ROMs might get error while flashing. Those DHDs might have needed to be S-OFF first before RUU can be flashed. After flashing the RUU, put the rooted version file (PD98IMG.zip) on the root of your sdcard (not inside any folder) then boot on to recovery then accept the update.
I have done this and worked for me.

sharing my own experience to this stock root edition:
Step: 1)if you using stock rom please downgrade it with AAHk and get the S-OFF after u complete go to(it will wipe data so backup before u do this)
Step 2: download the original ruu above u need this because the stock rom root doesn't contain the firmware and after u finished downgrade plug in ur usb cable, usb debug enable and run the ruu and wait until finished
Step 3: before flash this ur dhd must be S-OFF then download the stock rom root then flash it at the bootloader and then you're done!
I'm downgrade from stock rom now i'm using this stock rom root edition so please enjoy it!

@darnvil,
mine is stock 3.13.707.4 without any root/S-OFF. can I flash the rooted ROM?
p/s: I can't S-OFF or root due to the phone is getting "USB Device Not recognized" on my PC. done reinstall HTC Sync, driver, restart on my PC. even flashed back the stock ROM by using the 1st page ROM (using rom.zip from RUU and rename to PD98IMG.zip) but it still can't be detected by the PC. hardware id's from the USB shows as USB/UNKNOWN, no strings of id, no whatsoever..

It says I need Root Access. I need to install superuser but I can't cause my USB isn't working.
go to your market and just download super user and after that download fom manager for free and once you open the first thing you see will be the flash recovery option which comes with the latest recovery. but you do need to be rooted in order to have custom recovery
-Da Reaper
I don't know of a way to root or flash a custom recovery without USB. Have you tried using a different USB cable? Maybe the cable you're using has gone bad as far as transmitting data.
Another way I just thought of is if someone can package up an update to the stock 2.3.3 ROM with root/superuser as update.zip that you can just download, place it the root of the sdcard, and use the stock recovery to update.

3.12 will do both GB and ICS but it isn't a native GB F/W release.
i) I'm assuming you have a Nandroid backup of the original ROM ?
ii) Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767 and get the 1.17 Firmware.
iii) Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178143 and get the 10.58 Radio
iv) restore the nandroid backup.
If no nandroid backup, then I'm sure others can oint you in the direction of the right RUU. Be careful installing RUUs as they potentially update too much.
You can either flash the gb firmware or simply run the latest RUU that you would like to have.
Keep in mind that you will lose your custom recovery.

Eek, never considered trying for S-ON. S-OFF is the main battle.
Can I ask why S-ON ? I struggle to see a need for it apart from returns.

yes, I've already seen that, but there's also an howto in my native language, so I won't mess it up, the question just is, if it makes a difference, that I've got ICS?

-Download superwipe for sensation
-Download a radio for gb here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178143
-Download a gingerbread rom whichever you like.
1)Put your gb rom and firmware file into the "root" of your sd card and reboot into bootloader (or use volume down+power combination when the device is off). It will detect your firmware (if it doesnot not detect, select fastboot). select yes to upgrade and wait it to finish the upgrade.
2)Then power off your device and take your sd card off. Then volume down+power again (bootloader). Place your sd card to your device and select recovery. Connect your phone to your pc via cable and select usb mount (usb toggle for ex4 touchrecovery). Replace your firmware file with the radio file (the same file name) using your pc. Then apply superwipe and flash your rom as usual.
3)reboot into bootloader again and select yes when it asks to upgrade your radio (if it doesnot select fastboot again).
4) When finished, restart your phone and wait for the rom to boot!

can you please help me with step 1) & 2)
so I put the gb rom, the radio & the firmware on my sd.
then flash firmware, then radio, then superwipe & finally rom?
i think first thing is firmware, then super wipe in recovery mode, then rom and after long boot radio..
i do radio flashing with fastboot. connect phone with usb in terminal:
adb reboot bootloader
if you are in bootloader then in terminal:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
you must change radio.img with your radio name and i asume that you have ADB and FASTBOOT, you can get this from android dev..its named android sdk

Actually both radio and firmware have the same file name (the name is PG58IMG.zip) ıf you change the name of one of the files, fastboot will not detect the file. SO ; you have to put the firmware and rom into root of your sd card FIRST. When flashed the firmware, power off the device and just unplug your sdcard. Then boot into bootloader again (volume down+power when the device is off) As the device cannot recognize an sd card this way, it will not try to upgrade the firmware automatically. Then when the device is turned on into the bootloader give it 5-10 seconds and plug your card. Then go to recovery menu. And choose mount usb storage when the device is connected to pc. Delete PG58IMG file (firmware) Then superwipe and flash your rom. Then put your radio file which has the same file name with the firmware into root of sd card. Boot into bootloader and upgrade it. That's all!
If you are confused about unpluging sd card, then plugging again while in the bootloader menu, that is just to deceive the bootloader as i told before. If bootloader finds PG58IMG file in the sd card you will not be able to get into recovery menu. Alternatively, and easier method is to delete the firmware file after flashing it by using an external card reader instead of getting into recovery and mounting sd card via phone.

But be aware that changing back to s-on is reported as a bit more risky! . If you miss any step, there is a high possibility that your device will be bricked. Be careful

Bootloader unlock problem!

Hey guys i have a problem with the bootloader of my chacha. I just bought this phone because my legendary hd2 broke. I've tried serveral times to unlock my bootloader of my chacha via the htcdev method but without any luck. Everytime I try the ruu it gives me the 170 error code which indicated my phone isn't connected to my computer.
I tried changing usb ports without luck and installing htc sync, but the device doesn't get recognized by eather the ruu or htc sync. So does anybody know a solution so I can root my phone?
BUMPY
Bump!
Try skipping RUU Update step, maybe you don't need a hboot update. It worked for me and others as well.

You cannot do anything until you unlock the bootloader or s-off your device.
Apparently the problem is within HTC USB drivers.
If you have successfully installed HTC Sync and/or HTC USB drivers on your workstation, then enable USB debugging option on your phone and try to connect the USB cable to USB ports on your motherboard (at the back of computer case).
If this is not working, then probably the best option is to use somebody's else computer with Windows XP 32bit to unlock your device.
Or try a hardware reset on your PC. This will let your PC recognize the phone as a new device. Or try to fix drivers when you plug it in. This can be done from the config screen (Not sure what's the official name for in english windows... Only worked with dutch versions...

This is a brief tut on windows:
Download adlx' small fastboot tools: link
Download adlx' recovery (best one is 5.0.2.8) - couldn't find link, search it in a development section.
Download superuser zip: link - it is in the attachments - su-2.3.6.1-ef-signed.zip.
Extract fastboot and recovery. Put recovery.img in the folder where your fastboot tools are. Navigate the command prompt to the fastboot folder. Connect your phone in fastboot mode and type this command:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
This will install recovery.
Copy su zip on your sd card.
Then just flash superuser zip through recovery and you will have a rooted phone.

That is due to corrupted sdcard. Anyway, you can unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery and root without the Hack Kit (take into consideration that is has been discontinued as so has the files and support) Check my signature for doubts

OK, I try to unlock bootloader now. But I got stuck to this (same problem with other guy in this forum, but no lead):
My ROM Software Numbre is 3.13.707.4, and the RUU tool (PD9810000_Ace_Sense30_S_hboot_2.00.0029.exe) displayed the same number. The option I was given was "Update the current ROM version." So I clicked update and it says "From Image Version 3.13.707.4 To Image Version 3.13.0.0". I clicked next to proceed. Then I get:
ERROR [190]: ROM IS NOT UPDATED
Your ROM version is not the latest version.
Please upgrade to 3.13.707.3 to apply this RUU to be able to unlock your bootloader. On your phone, go to Menu > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now. After you have updated, please run the RUU again to upgrade your HBOOT to unlock your phone. Click Exit to quit.
At this point I went back to the phone and performed the "check now", but there are no other updates.
I have google for this (ROM 3.34.707.3) but leads to nothing... no problem solving at all...
Stuck again now....
Updated :
Finally I can root my phone...
Problem described above, can be solved by update the Hboot version manually check this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252161
I can download update Hboot files from the link in there...
Then I continue with unlocking bootloader as describe in your signature (using easy unlock tools) then continue to flash CWM and SU using easy ace hack tools... Wow your tools is very easy to understand for a noob like me
Now, since i already have root access, it should be enough for me...
But just curious, how to gain S-Off access from here... I still not clear enough about S-off and S-On difference, what exactly advantages to have S-Off?
Please help me!

Hi Decasys, follow this step :
*Unlock boot loader with htcdev/bootloader
see your HBOOT version : you face problem describe on this thread if your hboot ver is 2.00.0027 you have to download file as below to achieve version 2.00.0029 because it support token key for unlock.
1. download this rom copy to your c:\ drive : http://www.mobfirmware.com/dl/behtash/imei dhd/rom.zip
2. then download : http://www.mobfirmware.com/dl/behtash/imei dhd/dhd update hboot by behtash.rar
3. run hboot update by behtash.bat in normal mode ,waiting until flash hboot complete
at this point your HBOOT will be upgrade to 2.00.0029 (check it)
*Then continue to use :
Easy unlock tools, follow insctrution in this therad : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133336
at this point, on your bootloader, it will have "unlocked" notification on the top
*Then continue to use :
Easy Ace root tools, on this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2169515
When you run it, just choose to flash CWM (as I remember it was option #2)
And then continue to flash SU (as I remember it was option #3)
That's all, you gain root access.

Update again...
Seems the way I get the root access can't use to install custom ROM.
I try to install cyanogenmod as in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073992
But seems after do all the steps to install a custom rom there, my phone was stuck on HTC logo...
Fortunately, I have do nandroid backup, so I can restore to stock roms...
What i want to ask is, why my phone can't install custom ROM now? I know that I still has S-ON, but is that the cause? If yes, is there any possible way for me to get S-Off and install a custom ROM?
glevitan, i need your help again I think
Update again :
After checking on some place, apprantly i still left some steps
this one :
Flashing roms with an unlocked bootloader
Unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery (CWM or 4ext)
Download the rom zip file you are willing to flash to your PC.
Extract the the boot.img from inside the zip file (do not extract the whole rom)
Put the zip file in your sdcard.
Boot into recovery and do a full wipe (wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, format system)
Flash rom (install zip from sdcard)
Reboot into bootloader again and plug the phone to the PC.
You need to be in fastboot usb (if you see HBOOT USB PLUG in the phone, just press power to toggle)
Open a cmd/terminal and navigate to where the boot.img file is located.
Type: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reboot and now you should be enjoying your custom rom
Finally I can enjoy my custom rom
Finally.
Finally.
I did it. I followed your instructions and I have root my phone.
I'm using the Custom ROM JellyTime and works perfectly.
Many Thanks for your help.
:good:

[Q] HTC Sense UI stops working very often. How to fix it?

Hello
Phone: Sensation XE, 4.0.3 Android, 3.6 UI, Stock ROM, Locked (unROOTed)
So, I'm having a problem with my UI in HTC - it stops working very often. Usually when I'm unplugging the USB cable or changing the mode to Charge only.
I can root the phone and install custom ROM but I don't want to lose all the files [or if you guys can give me some program to back up my stuff, so I could put it on my PC]. Everything is ready to do it (the chinese program to root the phone and the vipers custom ROM is already on my SD card [dont even know if i will lose it after rooting).
But will it help to fix the problem? Because I was thinking that if the UI stops working, so maybe I have to install new one (4.1 included in Vipers ROM, i guess).
And by the way, can you tell me when I would loose the files? (wile rooting or installing the ROM?)
Cheers, Michael.
if you follow the S-OFF procedure backup all your contents from your sdcard to the pc
when you root after S-OFF you sdcard will be untouched
also when you flash the rom will be again untouched

when you do S-OFF you unlock all device's partitions
then you can root and flash a custom recovery
see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661631
by the way how were you going to root it?
The program is called ZhuoDaShi. I accidentally uninstalled the program, because everything is in chinese LOL! I thought I'm launching the program.
But do you think i should download this program again or I shouldn't be bothered and pick different one? (Maybe you could give it)
About the S-OFF, will my 32GB SD card be ok with it?

Hi there again.
I've got a problem with rooting the phone.
So, my phone is S-OFF (it says in hboot) and its locked.
My problem is that I can't unlock it. I have downloaded super user (su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip) and i installed it through hboot/recovery and it installed everything, but i still dont have root rights and in hboot menu it says S-OFF ... LOCKED
Have I done something wrong?

no you are fine now
completely unlocked
ignore the locked situation
you can flash a patched hboot.see here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
flash 3.33 universal
it has instructions on how to flash it
and before flashing check md5 sums
about root flash this from recovery
http://download.chainfire.eu/315/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.25.zip
then see if you have root access
MD5?
I searched internet for it... Still dont know. But Ive donwloaded MD5 Checker and there are 2 options: file 1-file 2 ::and:: text - MD5 / MD5 - text
What should I be looking at?
EDIT:
OK, wait. I know whats MD5 (a bit). So i checked the code from the file i have downloaded - the firmware. It should be same as my firmware?
If so... how can I take my firmware and put it on the pc to check it in the program?

do this
put the firmware zip into the root of your sdcard
then from your device use any file manager you have and navigate to that zip
press and hold in that zip until it pops up a menu
go to properties and select calculate md5 checksum or something like that
then see if it matches with the one from firmware's thread
can I ask a very nooby question?
my steps of which files I should install now are;
1. hboot that u gave me link
2. flash 3.33 - same link
3. another link with super user after installing the files before ?
ok I checked the md5 for flash 3.33 on my phone - its the same as given on the forum
so I should just install it step by step with points that I showed you?
once again, sorry for that question, shouldn't waist Ur time
I still need help! Please

hi, mate sorry for the late
so if you say that md5 sums are matching then:
flash 3.33 firmware.it will take care too for the patched hboot
after that flash the superuser zip from recovery
done
No worrys. Thanks.
I'm just changing to other sd - I have all root files needed on it.
Tell me, why do I need to flash those 2 files (3.33 and su-update) if I already made the root?
But there's one more question bothering me; how can md5 be different on other devices IF its still the same file?
And how should I know if my md5 is different if other users don't give md5 to their files?
I think it was the last question.
Many thanks and best wishes

the 3.33fw gives you also patced hboot as i said
that means you can perform fastboot commands(with locked bootloader you can't)
if you are already rooted then don't use the su zip
1)i don't know.the only thing i know is if you modify a zip file then the md5 is changing too
2)especially in firmware thread it will always give md5 sums for matching because if it is different(bad download or corrypted file)
the device will probably bricked
now if you have installed a recovery try to flash a custom rom
all custom roms comes already rooted
Ok. In hboot it says firmware 3.33
But I still don't have root rights.
What I should do now is install the:
1. Su update (that you gave me) - through; hboot, racovery, install zip files
And if I will have root rights
2. Install custom rom - the same way as step one
AND ALL OF IT WITHOUT CLEARING SD CARD AND MOBILE?

1)backup your current rom just in case(nandroid backup)
2)format all partitions except sdcard
3)flash the rom
done
by the way what recovery did you install?

I flashed the su and after it - I could give root permission for applications.
I installed CynaogenMod 10.1 and I dont like it, because a bit of stuff does not work.
Now Im waiting untill DarkSense will be downloaded.
Im using CWM that came with Rom Menager.
By the way, do you know whats the best solution to keep all my contacts and apps for every rom? (i know that i should restore my old rom and than use the solution [that i wish u would give me], but its still worth it)
And what kernel would u pick to save as much battery as possible?
CHEERS

for your contacts you can use mobile backup 2.it is free in google play store
most users are using titanium backup for apps when they are switching roms.me personally i have never used it
about kernel it depends from your personal usage and what settings will you do(overclock,UV etc)
so long i am using sebastianFM's kernel.i am happy with it
