i just want to give everyone a heads up , i have a unlocked iphone and i took my sim card with the blackberry data on it my iphone INTERNET worked and i was able to download email check my voice mail and do everything the iphone has to offer except downloading the voice mail option .which i don't mind. so you can use any data plan on the ipone if it is unlocked
Is there a way to make the google contacts native to the phone so that I could do a back up with the ATT address book? It seems that I can only do a back up of the transferred SIM contacts. I know that it seems redundant since it's already on google's cloud but I just wanted to try the ATT service.
Both my wife and I bought the Infuse yesterday. Mine is a stopgap until the Galaxy S2. We are both having issues with the native mail client.
In my case I use imap and the program does not delete my email when I tell it to, it just comes back. The mail app doesn't seem to have any delete options like k9 and others.
My wife uses the mail app for exchange, with the exception that it does not give a summary in the notification bar(like K9), she is having problems with mail being pushed to her phone. It seems to work sporadically.
I wanted to know if anyone was having any such problem.
not specifically, but i've always had problems with Samsung's email app. i was able to put an older version of a Samsung email app on the phone (the version bundled with the Firefly ROM for the captivate), but the one that came bundled with the Infuse did not work well with my exchange server. i told it to download "headers only", but when i opened a message and click "Load More Details", the body never loaded, just said "null"
also exchange related, whenever i received a message on my old captivate, the notification sound would play, but get cut off halfway through....weird. sometimes it wouldn't even make it halfway through, the sound would only play for a split second, barely noticeable, missed several messages.
Where can I get this mail app?
head over to the captivate development section, download the firefly ROM, it's a zip file, unzip it. goto /system/app and you'll find email.apk
Same problem.
Switched back to K-9 Mail instead.
If you are in the default mail client and you go to incoming server settings there is an option from delete email from server and you can choose an option like "when i delete from inbox", atleast it is for me i have pop mail though.
Ok, a little backfill here. My wife and I got Note 5's about a month after release around the time updates were released allowing RCS functionality. I loved advanced messaging, mainly because I could text full resolution pics less than 10MB.
When it came out, I remember if one of your contacts had it, the messaging icon under their contact details turned from orange to green. Also, if I remember right the only way to mms a full size pic was to share it from the gallery to messages, not attach a pic from within the messages app.
So, I realize it had been a good 6 weeks or so since I've been able to text large pics to my wife. Her contact details icons are no longer green either. There is an S6 and an S6 Edge on my account also and none of us can advance message each other.
I also cannot use RCS with a friend of mine on Tmobile with a Note 5 either. I went to a Tmobile store and they said maybe binge on was affecting it, I obliged them and disabled binge on on the other 4 lines, mine is unlimited and had been off since announced. We tried that, to no avail and the service rep said I should call tech support. Called, they escalated it and created a trouble ticked. Called me back today saying there were no network problems, to go to a store.
I took to Twitter with @TmobileHelp and they had me make sure VOLTE was on and WiFi calling, which it was. Had me clear data on the messages app, restart device, still no go.
I did a full factory reset, no go. T-mobile's twitter help created another ticket for me and said they escalated it and will follow up by this friday.
Some other notes is all devices are completely stock and fully updated, no root, and we all live in strong service LTE areas in SoCal. I've travelled in a 200 mile radius the last week checking my RCS, and it doesn't work anywhere. Well, I should clarify that Video calling on LTE works, just not advanced messaging.
I haven't found any cases of this on the Web anywhere else. Has anybody ran into this or have any other tips I have left out?

try this. go into contacts>"my profile" which is your name> and enable "profile sharing" on both devices. that was my issue back when i first tried using it, but it works fine now. its spotty sometimes, but it does indeed work for me.

Mine was shared but not my wifes. Changed them both as well as cleaned up several duplicate contacts. No dice. Each "my profile" for the respective device shows green icons on its own device. But on the other devices it's a no go. They even show that they are shared via profile sharing on the opposite devices but still won't light up green.
I'll post up after tmobile follows up on the tech ticket today or tomorrow.

That's weird. But good luck! Also you could try two more things , when you factory reset your phone make sure you enable enhanced features after you log into your Samsung account, but before you do that try to wipe cache/dalvik and see if that helps. But before you do that wipe enhanced features cache in applications and see if that helps.
Lol yeah I know its all jumbled up lol
Well, factory reset both devices. Logged in skipping Google and Samsung logins. Manually added each other's contacts on the 2 devices, enabled profile sharing, opted into enhanced features, WiFi calling preferred and connected.
Restarted both devices, no advanced messages. Can video call no problem, although the video call icon is not green either like it used to be.
Is anybody in SoCal able to use advanced messaging? At this point I'm calling it a network issue.
Tmobile said the network is fine, they are sending 2 new sims to try.

I'm having the same problem. I have the s6, everything updated yesterday, I turned on everything I need to turn on and it's still not working. It's really frustrating.
Solved with 4 new sim cards. All contact video and messaging icons lit up green after about 1 minute of having the new sims in the 4 RCS capable devices on my account.
Since I swapped my sim into this T-Mobile branded Z Flip 3 I've been getting a "<Subject: NoSubject>" line on top off all my MMS. Getting it on group text on every text, since group texting uses MMS.
Was just wondering if I'm the only one getting this, since I didn't find this on my search?
man... I guess I'm to only one

I'm experiencing the EXACT same thing with my new Unlocked Z Fold 3 (that has a T-Mobile sim card installed). I've spent the last 90-minutes on the phone with T-Mobile support, and they are dumbfounded. Next they are going to reach out to Samsung. (If you do a Google search on this subject, you'll see that it goes back years on various Samsung models on the T-Mobile network.. I've not come across any posts that explain how it was ever fixed. Hopefully they'll find a solution for me, and I'll be sure to reply here, if so.)
As a work around, you could try installing a different messaging app from the Google Play store. I went with Textra. The Textra app does NOT display the "Subject: NoSubject" (even though the "Subject: NoSubject" is appearing in the exact same text message when viewed inside of the Samsung Message app.)
Honestly... without sounding bad, I'm at least happy it's not just me.
You can download Google Messages and it will fix that, but then you are giving Google all your text messages also. You also cannot use "text and call on other devices" with google messages.
I'm almost 100% sure that it has to do with their Messages application
This is the only thing I do not like about this phone. Hope TMobile can fix this asap
is "download automatically" turned on from the messages settings?
you should contact T-Mobile
Yeah, it's setup to download automatically.
I did contact T-mobile and they are aware of the issue
