[Q] Cyanogenmod in bootloop, clockwork mod not loading properly. please help! - Droid 2 Global General

So I flashed CM7 on my D2G and after the reboot I tried to boot into my clockworkmod recovery to wipe the data so the bootloop would end, but when i hold power/x I get the little android guy with the exclamation point in a triangle above him but when i press the magnifier/search button nothing happens. I know that all I need to do to make the rom work is wipe my data. so how would I go about doing that without having to reflash with sbf and everything? is there a way to fix my clockwork mod? or another way to erase my data?

First, you cannot enter CWM like that.
Power + X takes you to the stock recovery; on 4.5.x, you need to press the volume buttons together to enter it, not the hardware keyboard's Search button.

I know that this is anancient thread, but i decided to take a crack at mt D2G today and successfully rooted it and was able to get to the bootstrap recovery, but after installing the cm7 and gapps, the darn thing is just stuck at the red m screen indefinitely. I let it sit there for about 5 min, and to avoid having my battery die, i pulled it and started reading. I really dont wanna sbf it (if i really dont have to) and i need to get to clockwork recovery. Any suggestions?

you need to sbf, see how to use rsd lite in my list
official cm7 is still froyo, use the versions in my list, they work

that was my fear :/ in my impatience, i SBF'd and got it to boot back up just fine, but now im curious as to what i did wrong in my flash... im no noob, i have 7 android phones and theyre all happily rooted with a bevy of rom nands and zips at my disposal to flash whenever i want. Its not rocket science, but the bootstrap thing is just weird to me... i factory reset, wiped caches (a couple times for good measure) and then flashed the rom zip followed by gapps and there i was... stuck at that go..amned red M... what the h-e-double hockey sticks am i doing wrong here??

which cm7 and gaaps, file names please

i have an OG Evo, a droid incredible (same phone for all intents and purposes), a rezound (that was a pain in thebutt to get s-off on with that stupid wire trick fiasco), a droid incredible 2 (or S, if you will) a sprint S2, sprint S3 (my daily driver) and this D2G, and ive never encountered a recovery quite as "special needs" as what you need to do for motorola devices... this is just so different

I suggest just using Pooka-CM4D2G-GB-20120519 it is newest cm7 that works on gingerbread kernel

worked like a charm!! (since we're both in south dakota) if your license plate starts with a 1, lemme know when i can buy you a beer!

only thing fishy is how verizon/motorola changed the unlock codes, so that some d2gs can not be unlocked, most still can be unlocked, there is atleast 3 different code generating algorithms, you may need to try all 3, but the 1st one works for most

all 3 of these should work, if first code does not work, only retry it 1 more time, then request a different code or a refund.
you have a limited number of tries before you get locked out, so don't waste them on a code that doesn't work

[Q] Lost network connection after flashing to T959VUVKF1 GB Leak

I was able to successful flash my phone with the newly leaked GB Rom. However once I completed the update I noticed that I was no longer receiving data packets and that I was no longer connected to the T-Mobile network. The only way I could make calls was to use "WiFi Calling". I searched the internet for anyone who had this problem and if there is a fix for it, but to no avail. Has anyone encountered this problem and if so, did you find a solution to it?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give to resolve this problem.
I had the same problem. I never found a solution. I am currently waiting for an exchange since my phone is still in warranty.
Flash KJ6.
Expirienced the same flashing KH2 modem over 2.3.6 ROM. you got to admit system boots much much faster.... flash KJ6 and it will return as FBI said.
Sent from me
Had the same issue after flashing KJ6, crappy signal, getting booted off network. Could not get the signal back no matter which ROM I used. Just got replacement phone from T-Mobile yesterday.
As a note: I never lost my IMEI, and I could manually register on T-Mo network, but would get booted after a few minutes, usually when I went indoors - the signal strength became unusable.

Okay, so now I am registered on network, but I have no bars, no 3g. Only wifi calling. It tells me that the "mobile network is not available". What do I do?
Go into the network settings and make the system aka your phone look for it.....if it says none or can't connect....it can be your Sim card is defective ie: it may have been put in wrong make sure it's put in as the phone says ......and if that doesn't work you might need a new Sim card....not company a new Sim card from the same provider

No mobile network

So after 2 days of trying to go from froyo to gingerbread to get raverX3X's octane rom I initially lost my mobile connection somehow. I noticed it last night while I still had froyo. When I switched over to GB this morning I noticed still no network? Idk if it has something to do with the process of installing the roms, or T-mobile's problem? I'm not even sure if I have the rom in hahah, so it'd be nice if someone can at least confirm that for me.
Heres some info on the phone.
Mobile Network Type: Out of service
Mobile network state: disconnected
IMEI: Unknown
IMEI SV: Unknown
Firmware version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: Unknown
Kernel version: 2.6 35.7-T959VUVKJ6-CL694130
Build number: GINGERBREAD.VUVKJ6
I need my connection going to make work easier lol. thanks!
These people are likely having the same problem.

Oh I'm not the only one thank god haha. Yeah hopefully there will be a solution soon!
mrchovee, do me a favor and take out your battery for 10 minutes and see if that fixes it and post back please. Thanks in advance.
I wonder if the IMEI actually got wiped, if it can't be read (permissions), or if it has something to do with the modem (baseband) not being recognized?
- If you have CWM installed have you tried booting into recovery & fixing the permissions?
- Have you tried flashing back to stock using Raver's ODIN KJ6 ROM (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353176) or one of the KC1 ROMs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129933)?

[Q] Post root lag SSG SII LTE

Hello forums. I'm sure I'm not the only one with the problem and I've spent some time looking but no avail in finding a solution. (most likely because I'm unfamiliar with the forums) So getting to the point.
I rooted my Samsung Galaxy SII LTE (rogers) using superoneclick. After rebooting my phone I've noticed a LOT of lag when it comes to scrolling through pages, using/loading apps, and even using the back, home, and search "buttons" on the front. Is there a solution to this? I would greatly appreciate the help.
I've never used one click root but rooting shouldn't cause lag like that. I would personally just flash a new rom rather than go through all the trouble to track down the cause. Do you have clockwork installed yet?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Yeah root does not cause that . You should freeze your bloatware, and try a custom rom like red sonja

Haven't done anything after the root. I originally rooted it so I can hook up my sixaxis controller to it but after hearing what else you can do with your phone I think I'm going to follow that route instead. All I want to do right now is get rid of the stock apps that I don't need, get the sixaxis working on the phone (I've read the Cyanogenmod kernal can do that for me)
But I'd be more then happy to test out new roms from time to time, so first thing is first. What is the easier way to go about Backing up my entire phone so I can restore it to that state?
Haven't installed clockwork yet. What does it do and how do I install it? I'll try and find the links on my own when I have some time but I'm just heading out to work soon (horay for double time and a half) or you could be a trooper and help a noob out.
Edit: So I've figured out what clockwork is and its asking me which phone I'm using, doesn't list my phone there so I just want to make sure choosing the tmobile samsung galaxy sII is alright despite having a rogers SSG S2 LTE

I tried freezing some but I've already managed to freeze something that causes my apps to force close whenever I open it. Is there a list of the bloatware that I can safely freeze or delete?
I'll be looking into which rom I will go with first but for now I'm going to read up about it before I do anything else. Don't want to brick my phone a week into buying it.

Just one question, if I I've had enough of red sonja in the background of my apps and everywhere else is there a way I can remove the comic book theme on the phone while keeping the rom working?

So after trying the ice cream sandwich I think it's alright and now I'm off to take sonja out for a ride. If I backup the current rom play around with lovely lady in red would I be able to just switch between roms after backing them up?
If you boot into cwm. Click backup/restore and backup your current setup then flash red sonja. And do the same think. You can go back into cwm and restore your nandroid backups anytime you want. Just remember to wipe first. But yeah you can switch back and forth and it will take you to exactly how you were set up in each backup

Looks like you got it figured out. They call that a soft brick. It happened to me.
its called not unlocking your bootloader before flashing custom firmware on your device. my suggestion is to read the guides stickied around here before your soft brick turns into a hard brick!
Are you saying that the Rom runs ok but when you goto recovery you get the triangle? i was reading something about how the stock recovery can be re flashed by accident in some situation, try odin recovery again?

Nope. What he did is exactly what droidstyle said. He didn't unlock his bootloader which is the first step you should take after rooting your phone if you are going to be playing with any ROMs.

I think he had to have his bootloader unlocked to flash the Rom in the first place. My guess would be that he relocked it at some point.

its a possibility, but the point is the bootloader was locked when updating.

If CM10 is anything like Synergy it does a check for the bootloader being unlocked and if it is locked still it skips installing the kernel. The rest of it goes along fine.

Be careful. The Ez unlock app on the market is not working properly. It will unlock you but it wont stick. Revert to version 1.2 until 1.3 and 1.4 are fixed. He has posted a link under the app description to 1.2.

Okay I am a NUBE. I ran casual and then odin everything worked good. ThenI started getting errors when i was opening apps. So I was going to go back to stock. I ran oden again, this time using the bootloaderbaseline.tar 1,030K file. Now I am getting system software not authorized by verizon wireless found on your phone.
Now when I hook up to the usb cable it will not recognize to try and reload the bootloader.
any suggestions... Thanks again.
Try the Note 2 forums here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1886, they will probably be a lot more helpful. This is the Verizon Galaxy S3 forum.

Only stock boot.img works

Hey people, you brainiacs seem to be my last hope.
Been flashing Saturn III on my SV with TWRP and flashed, as the dev stated to do, the boot.img in fastboot.
After rebooting, it stucked on the HTC-Logo with white background till i removed the battery.
Then I tried flashing back the stock boot.img Link: ht tp://fs1.d-h.st/download/00084/DMf/boot.img
With that one it boots n all works fine but the WLAN.
So yeah.. all devs tell to flash the boot.img to get WLAN to work, but if I do so, the whole phone wont start anymore.
Already tried with Saturn III and "my slim rom" from this site.
Here are my phone specs:
K2_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.21.0000
RADIO-1.18.40a.00.05
OpenDSP-v13.2.0268.0620
OS- (with the stock boot.img it shows the OSrev)
eMMc-boot 1024
What I would need is a 4.1.2 OS, stock or slightly modded
Has somebody got any solution for me?
Alot thanks in advance
Strange, as you are S-On, you must flash the boot.img.
You can try to use the boot.img, you will find in this thread.
Thanks for the fast reply.
Yeah, pretty strange..
Tried that boot.img - same effect.
want me to flash that kernel's .zip too?
forgot to tell you: Ofc I'm HTCDev unlocked.

yeah i did.
And explain in a little more detail of what the exact issues are, we will be able to assist you better.
Just so I can get a better grasp(visualization) of what's going on.

You already did the OTA to 422, as i see on your hboot.
Maybe there is the problem.
But if stock kernel boots, but only wifi not working, try to flash this zip from recovery (boot.img for fastboot).
It's stock k2u kernel and the needed libs for Wifi.

hmmm.. what else could i tell you..
Flashing works all fine, i get success when i'm flashing a ROM and sucess when flashing the boot.img via fastboot.
The only thing is when I'm flashing the boot.img of the ROMs, the device won't boot and only show the HTC-logo on white background and never boot (waited a hour already).
The boot.img that i linked to seems to be the only one thats working.. (maybe someone could have a look on what makes that one so special?)
Result in usint that working boot.img on the ROMS is a non-working WLAN.
Please tell me if there is any other specific thing you need to know, as I dont know anything else to write atm.
You flashed a 4.2 rom? Or a 4.1?

Do me a favor
Go into twrp recovery and wipe
System
Cache
Data
Dalvik cache
Then flash rom again
Then reboot bootloader
Then flash the boot.img from inside the ROM
fastboot flash boot boot.img
and reboot....

Isn't Saturn III based on 4.1.2??? Wouldnt that cause a conflict with 4.2.2 since the kernel is found in the boot.img? Like trying to crossbreed a dog and a cat?

I'm running old.splatterhand's Saturn III ROM which is 4.1.2 afaik.
Tried the kernel + boot.img you linked me, old.splatterhand. Still stuck on the HTC logo...
I'm at the end of my ideas..
I'm skimming through these right now cuz I'm at work still ha!

Did that now.. still hangs at the HTC-Logo.
I already tried the kernel of post #7.
@russellvone @old.splatterhand
Correct me if I am wrong. Just going on a hunch. Saturn III is based on 4.1.2. @fwaqo is currently on 4.2.2. So would he not need to downgrade in a sense as far as the necessary partitions (images) would be needed in order for this Rom to comply without complications? Mainly, thinking on the matter of the kernel which is found in the boot.img which is technically a build for the 4.1.2 and not 4.2.2...... Just throwing something up in the air. Take it or bash it. Either way, I still love you guys HAHA!

It may be possible that you received an updated radio with 4.2.2?
The radio may not be compatible?
Why not stay on 4.2.2 rom?

I've updated(we all have) with OTA and are still able to flash "downgraded" ROMs with out issue, as long as we flash the correct boot.img.
I think it's possible that maybe he received an updated radio that might interfere with the booting process???
!#quote my post if you want to get my attention more quickly
Well, then the solution to the radio would be to grab his previous one from his previous ota and flashed that radio and redue the process...

I flashed back from 4.2.2 to 4.1.2 cause I like the design of 4.1.2 alot more. But I can try if it works with a 4.2.2 custom rom and it's boot.img. Is there any stable rom already?
