So after 2 days of trying to go from froyo to gingerbread to get raverX3X's octane rom I initially lost my mobile connection somehow. I noticed it last night while I still had froyo. When I switched over to GB this morning I noticed still no network? Idk if it has something to do with the process of installing the roms, or T-mobile's problem? I'm not even sure if I have the rom in hahah, so it'd be nice if someone can at least confirm that for me.
Heres some info on the phone.
Mobile Network Type: Out of service
Mobile network state: disconnected
IMEI: Unknown
IMEI SV: Unknown
Firmware version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: Unknown
Kernel version: 2.6 35.7-T959VUVKJ6-CL694130
Build number: GINGERBREAD.VUVKJ6
I need my connection going to make work easier lol. thanks!
These people are likely having the same problem.

I don't understand how all of your IMEIs got wiped.

Oh I'm not the only one thank god haha. Yeah hopefully there will be a solution soon!
mrchovee, do me a favor and take out your battery for 10 minutes and see if that fixes it and post back please. Thanks in advance.
I wonder if the IMEI actually got wiped, if it can't be read (permissions), or if it has something to do with the modem (baseband) not being recognized?
- If you have CWM installed have you tried booting into recovery & fixing the permissions?
- Have you tried flashing back to stock using Raver's ODIN KJ6 ROM (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353176) or one of the KC1 ROMs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129933)?
Wow taking out the battery for 10min worked perfectly! thank you so much!! right before work too haah!
Nice find, Silvercar!
Glad it worked.
EXACT same problem here since last night :-(
Still searching for solutions.
I have one question, I made BU's thank god, what I want to know if ROM BU's actually back up all folders including the EFS, which holds the IMEX etc ??

OMG, it worked.....everything is back to normal...IMEX too...wohooooooooooo
So this is a problem related to No SERVICE......cause the minute i had service back, everything reappeared.
Now, I have to do all my New Rom's again.........small price to pay for a solution
I had the same problem and I ended up doing an exchange for 20 dollars since I was still in warranty. I wish I knew about the battery trick earlier...
Just so everyone knows I started a thread called "No carrier signal + IMEI Problems = take out your battery" a while back. Try and search it, it should come up.
damm thats crazy the battery thing worked
haha i thanked you bro
So I flashed CM7 on my D2G and after the reboot I tried to boot into my clockworkmod recovery to wipe the data so the bootloop would end, but when i hold power/x I get the little android guy with the exclamation point in a triangle above him but when i press the magnifier/search button nothing happens. I know that all I need to do to make the rom work is wipe my data. so how would I go about doing that without having to reflash with sbf and everything? is there a way to fix my clockwork mod? or another way to erase my data?
First, you cannot enter CWM like that.
Power + X takes you to the stock recovery; on 4.5.x, you need to press the volume buttons together to enter it, not the hardware keyboard's Search button.

I know that this is anancient thread, but i decided to take a crack at mt D2G today and successfully rooted it and was able to get to the bootstrap recovery, but after installing the cm7 and gapps, the darn thing is just stuck at the red m screen indefinitely. I let it sit there for about 5 min, and to avoid having my battery die, i pulled it and started reading. I really dont wanna sbf it (if i really dont have to) and i need to get to clockwork recovery. Any suggestions?

that was my fear :/ in my impatience, i SBF'd and got it to boot back up just fine, but now im curious as to what i did wrong in my flash... im no noob, i have 7 android phones and theyre all happily rooted with a bevy of rom nands and zips at my disposal to flash whenever i want. Its not rocket science, but the bootstrap thing is just weird to me... i factory reset, wiped caches (a couple times for good measure) and then flashed the rom zip followed by gapps and there i was... stuck at that go..amned red M... what the h-e-double hockey sticks am i doing wrong here??

I suggest just using Pooka-CM4D2G-GB-20120519 it is newest cm7 that works on gingerbread kernel

worked like a charm!! (since we're both in south dakota) if your license plate starts with a 1, lemme know when i can buy you a beer!
only thing fishy is how verizon/motorola changed the unlock codes, so that some d2gs can not be unlocked, most still can be unlocked, there is atleast 3 different code generating algorithms, you may need to try all 3, but the 1st one works for most

no, if you want it unocked, and not using verizon, you need to buy a code

all 3 of these should work, if first code does not work, only retry it 1 more time, then request a different code or a refund.
you have a limited number of tries before you get locked out, so don't waste them on a code that doesn't work

Hey guys. I'm new to the Android community and I have this AT&T One X that was running a 4.1.1 stock ROM, until I flashed it to Cyanogenmod 10.2 specifically wanted to use the hotspot function which I couldn't use in the stock ROM. Now that I'm on the CM, I miss the Beats audio feature along with the stock camera app and lock screen. I came across a ROM named Liberty, but it's unclear whether or not it supports hotspot and I searched through pages of it and looking for a Q&A, but no results.
In conclusion, I'm looking for a custom ROM that runs on Sense for it's camera app, Beats audio drivers, quite possibly a nice weather lock screen, and also supports hotspot without being under AT&T's contract. Anything else with those will be a given.
Any version of the OS and Sense will do as long as it's stable. Thanks in advance.

Does it support the hotspot feature without being under AT&T's data contract? I looked at this update at my very first attempt of updating/custom ROM's but it wasn't clear.

It is rooted, but every time I tried turning on the hotspot, the same block pop-up would show up. I looked at different forums and they just use apps to bypass the carrier block but never worked for me even with my phone being rooted... That or custom ROMs which actually work for me, but don't fit all my needs.
Fastboot getvar all please
At&t ROMs deliberately break the hotshot feature. You need to use a non at&t ROM.

My G2 sometimes takes a long time to send texts. It isn't AT&T related since my nexus 5 has no issue. I don't think it's ROM related since it does it across all ROMs. However, I don't know if it does it on stock ROM. I don't think it does though. It's been a while since I've been on it.
Any ideas? APN? LTE? modem?

Ive used this same patch that was mentioned earlier in the post...im on stock rooted 20k and it works awesome. Not sure if the new 20y fixes the problem....but guess we'll have to wait and see if someone can make a flashable version.

Contrary to what you believe, it IS AT&T.
I have had a number of phones that all behaved the same way on AT&T's network.
Some pages come pretty quickly, and others take up to an hour to show up.
Friends on Sprint or Verizon have no such issue, generally.
I just got a warranty replacement and rooted it and put on MOAR 2.2 and am running the latest KTOONZ kernel .....in fact it would let me do the stock kernel...it froze up during boot until I flashed the KTOONZ kernel. I'm not sure if it's because the replacement phone did an OTA update before I flashed the rom...I don't remember having the spark logo on my previous S5 before warranty replacement. Is there a service I need to turn on using a debloat tool? I used the Aroma bloat tool that comes with the Rom to make sure the Smart Remote service was installed and I made sure it was turned on in accesability....I have no way of know if it's a hardware issue or a kernel issue, but it seems unlikely it's a hardware issue...since it's a brand new phone. I'm going to do a nandroid backup and try flashing a stock 4.4.4 rom to see if that fixes it, but I'd rather skip that if there is simple fix or test. Thanks ahead of time for any help anyone offeres.
