Haha, I think he's talking about rooting after updated to the latest version.
Updating razorclaw isn't as easy as you may think. A new exploit likely needs to be found which takes a lot more problem solving.

There's a thread in the dev section show how to downgrade firmware and root. You don't even need a PC,
You could download all necessary files straight to the tablet.

First you must have ADB setup.
Good tutorial here for that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071584&highlight=adb+setup
The two files that you download goes in the in platform tools folder
Might look something like this or similar depending on how you install it on your PC
C:/android-sdk/platform-tools
Open up command window and type in the command lines

There was a lot of people asking how to do it since they couldn't figure it out from adwinp's post and any advice was getting lost in the thread.
I just put my own work into a new thread so it was easy for people to find
And this method avoids terminal or adb so is a bit more beginner friendly I was going to wait for the visionary update tomorrow but now thanks to evostance's guide I have permaroot on the day it was found/exploited/invented.

I don't know if VISIONary will just be able to root one Kernel Version, or if it will be able to modify the wpx.ko file depending on your Kernel Version.

Are we supposed to have run VISIONary before we run the scripts? The guide PDF doesn't say to run it until after, but the original forum topic says run it before... because I'm getting that blue screen that does nothing.
Edit: Okay I got it, maybe prefix the part about running the Gscrips with "Open VISIONary, tick "Run on Boot" and then click "Root Now!" before you continue to running the GScript actions.
You need sudo access before running GScripts.

Do you have .NET 4 installed? It should work fine. Read through the thread if you're having trouble with the program.
You could also find the firmware yourself by following the instructions under "How to get stock FW." It requires a P505 serial number, so I can't do it for you.

On your phone behind the battery, the number you need will be listed as the IMEI. Use that instead of the number shown as the S/N. Append the number to the end of this link:

Do you mean you can't get the Yes/No dialog to show up? Looks like driver problems. Make sure you installed all of the Nexus S drivers needed. While you're in bootloader you should see Android 1.0 under Device Manager on your computer. Installing pdanet usually fixes this..Good luck

How to install ADB and Fastboot:
1. download and place in the root of your C:\ drive
2. extract here (not into a sub folder)
3. now open up control panel
4. find system
5. goto advanced settings
6. goto environmental variables
7. in the box that says "system variables" scroll down to find a variable "Path"
8. highlight it
9. click edit
10. add this to the end
Quote:
;C:\android\tools
yes the ; is needed
11. click ok

Use the manual method by Indirect if you want to have more control over what you're doing (also does not void your warranty) and definitely read read read
I would recommend at least going through the whole "user" section of xda-university before even touching your phone, it has tons of useful information

Na i was using you shift rootility tutorial, but i screwed up and put the wrong PG06IMG.zip in the $path. there was 2 versions a 12.7MB and a 227MB one. i didn't realize that i needed to do the 227MB to downgrade first then after it's downgraded then use the 12.7MB one.
so i stopped mid way through and tried to boot normally, which sent me into a boot loop. doing a factory restore fixed the boot-loop and now i am starting over again.

It doesn't matter, you can do it anytime after you have rooted (make sure you flash it in bootloader and not through recovery though)
I was wondering now that djrbliss has released the vulnerability for AT&T SGS4 do we have to wait for devs to do something with it? For Loki tools it seems as if you have to have a recovery already made. Will a current one work?
https://github.com/djrbliss/loki
this seems more like a user made htc dev, not what true s-off "bootloader unlocked" would be. non the less it should work fine. this probably wont touch the write enabled protection on the device. the only issues i see is until we are truly unlocked we will always have that "samsung custom" on out bootscreens.
