Hi all I am kinda new to this forum, I recently purchased a HTC touch pro 2 second hand, it was used originally on Verizon, it was unlocked and worked just fine until I switched my sims, from Digicel Jamaica, the phone worked fine using my sim for one week then all of a sudden nothing, I can't make or receive any calls or messages or access any of the services associated with any sim. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I've recently got an Xda2 and had all the fun of trying to get it to unlock. having followed all the info on the web and runnung an unlock program on the phone itself, I can insert my SIM, enter the code and all looks fine....but i'm unable to make or receive any calls. Also, I dont sem to be able to find any contacts. Very confused! The SIM works fine in my other phone?? Any words of wisdom would be very welcome at this time,
Many thanks in advance
maybe you could try to use another sim to see if the xda is incompatible with that sim cards it's not unheard off
OK.....this is a bit wierd. I've tried another SIM, still vodafone, but its about 2 years old. It works! Why? Whats the difference between my vodafone SIM and a 2 year old vodafone SIM?
ask vodafone i know that 3 made it so their sims only worked in utms phones maybe vodafone also found a way to block other phones
Hi!
I have had my Touch Pro for about 18 months without any issues. I bought it SIM free and then inserted a SIM only SIM from O2.
Last week I moved to a SIM only deal from Vodafone. Now my phone reboots itself intermittently. This occurs during calls and when an incoming call is ringing it. I have never seen this behaviour prior to switching to the Vodafone SIM.
Things I have already tried...
- Getting a replacement SIM from Vodafone. This behaved the same way.
- Factory resetting the phone. This did not fix it.
I believe that I have a healthy phone and a healthy SIM. Any ideas about why they would not play nicely together?
Can it really be that this phone doesn't work on Vodafone? If so I might need to move back to O2, which would be crazy.
Thanks in advance.

update
I have now moved back to O2 and my phone works perfectly again. Obviously, this is very strange!
Can anyone out there explain this?
Regards,
Adam
at least u know what 2 do when u want 2 restart your pda...just phone yourself.
Actually...i have no creative comments at all. Sorry.
Hi all,
Just seeking some help, I've recently got a HTC Mozart and I've upgraded it to unlocked Mango. Problem is I bought it locked to Orange UK and I'm with Vodafone. I've just today got an unlock code and it's worked in accepting the SIM card but there is no signal and I can't call anyone. My contacts and messages have come up though.
Any ideas of what the issue could be?
Thanks for Looking.
Have you tried using the connection manager to switch it over to Vodafone?
Yes, I've switched it to Vodafone Contract on connection manager. I've rang vodafone to see if they are maybe blocking the signal as it's a new phone but because the sim works in my old phone they say it's 100% a problem with the phone.
Could it be that I typed in the code after I had upgraded to custom unlocked mango ROM?
And also I hear you have to type the unlock code twice on orange phones but I can't type it in again, there's no option to.
This phone was bought less than a week ago, I can and am considering returning it. I've rang HTC and they think it's a problem with the handset.
I too just got this phone like you, from orange, had it unlocked and have come to the conclusion it just doesn't work on vodafone.
When I did a search for networks on the phone tmobile, orange and 3 uk all came up but not vodafone. I also tried my 3 uk sim and it worked fine. i'm now back on my blackberry as it's the only phone i have which will work with the vodafone sim.
the phone i am keeping. vodafone i am not.
Thanks Livett, that's what I was thinking I tried a t-mobile sim and it worked fine. I think I'm going to change it for an Omnia 7 as I've still got a couple of months of my contract left and my other phone is a £10 vodafone branded phone. Worst phone I've ever experienced. I won't be staying with vodafone though.
Hi, I just thought i'd give you an update.
I updated to Mango last night on this phone and managed to get the sim working. It flits between Edge, HSPA and GPRS connections. Do Vodafone even have 3G? Either way it doesn't work, it's atrocious. I managed to send a text to myself on HSPA, recieved it, picked up the handset and then the signal dropped.
I think it's safe to assume Vodafone does work on this phone as it's unlocked, it's just Vodafone is so **** at coverage it's not even worth it.
Thanks.

2 months ago a friend of mine bought himself a bad esn motorola droid ultra for Verizon carrier on ebay and it works for T-mobile and AT&T just fine. His droid ultra was running stock android 4.2.2. Just recently I bought myself a bad esn motorola droid ultra for verizon on craigslist that's running android 4.4.4. I'm with T-mobile service, but I like verizon phones so I bought it thinking that it would work for T-mobile. Unfortunately to my surprise when I put in my T-mobile nano simcard, I notice that for the first 2 seconds it would seem like it's connecting because I can see two white bars then all of a sudden it would vanish. And all I see is a black triangle with dark-gray lines next to the wifi signal indicator, and not only that but I would also see something that reads: RESTRICTED ACCESS CHANGED on the upper top left corner. I tried changing the settings to GSM only and still that doesn't work. I tried using the Phone Info app to tweak the settings and still that doesn't work. So my best guesses are 1) sim tray is bad. 2) it has a bad esn so verizon blocked the phone from being used because an Apple tech person told me that Verizon, T-mobile, and AT&T shares one database where they keep and block all bad esn phones. 3) Motorola disabled the gsm radio on the 4.4.4 android update because Verizon didn't want people on T-mobile service using this particular droid ultra phone on the T-mobile network, so that's why Motorola was so quick to release the 4.4.4 android update for it. Well what other reasons for it not working for T-mobile I don't know. I guess I'm stuck with a giant ipod-touch like android media player. Any suggestions on how to get T-mobile to work on it would be great.
The Sim may be bad. My tmo Sim just went bad.

Just went tried it with an AT&T nano sim-card from my brother's iphone 5, and the droid ultra was able to pick up signal; and make phone calls and send text messages right off the bat. I figure it could be my T-mobile card so I went and bought a regular standard size T-mobile sim-card, and had it trim down into a nano size sim-card; but unfortunately it still wouldn't work. So my guess is that in order for the droid ultra to recognize the T-mobile sim-card it has to be an original nano sim-card. I will go to Tmobile store and buy a nano sim-card and see if it will make any difference. Thanks for your suggestion.

Dude any bad esn from verizon is not going to work with tmobile anymore. T-Mobile and verizon now share block list. At&t doesn't share verizon's bad imei thats why it works with at&t. Before Verizon bad esn phones worked with T-Mobile now it doesn't.
