(Q) How to disable the update notification? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did a search but I didn't find it, I could have missed it so I'm sorry in advance. I just want to be rid of the triangle update notification. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Settings>Applications>Manage application>All>DMClient>Clear data

Then if you are rooted you can freeze dmclient with titanium backup or just switch to a custom Rom

Thanks for asking this, I wanted to do the same as I just rooted and it was trying to update already.

Titanium Backup does not have the freeze feature on the free version.
I ended up using an App called Root Uninstaller

If you also stop the application here then it will never run again (also after reboot).
But when you want it back just use the check update under about tablet.
Worked on mine TF.
You then don't need Titanium Backup for this.

[Q] Titanium Backup asks to install each app

I am trying to get my phone to stock condition. Unfortunately, Titanium Backup keeps asking me to hit "install" for EACH of the 75 apps that I am trying to install. I thought it was supposed to be semi-automated? Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Max
I sure would like a way to do this faster too - last time I restored to stock I had 95 apps to restore ....... one at a time.......

I figured out how to do it. The paid app works perfect. I'm cheap, but it was worth it for me.

Verizon Software Update Coming In! Can't Stop!

I'm having a problem with the first Verizon update. I have a rooted, unlocked GS3 running the stock ROM only slightly modified. I thought I had FWUpgrade frozen, but apparently not. I do not have the purchased version of TiB and I used multiple apps to try to freeze the system app. I thought it was a success, but obviously not. Now everytime I turn my phone on I am seeing what is shown in the first attachment. The second attachment is showing what TiB shows when I look at FWUpgrade. I don't know what to do and need some help on what plan of action to take! What are my options? I've been wanting to flash a custom ROM and considering most of those have FWUpgrade already frozen that would solve my issue... Thanks for the help!

Thanks so much for the fast reply!!! I do not have the paid version of TiB, so I just disabled it with Root Uninstaller and now it shows up as frozen in both RU and Ti. After taking it off of airplane mode, the update is no longer showing up!!! :good: Thanks again for the quick reply!!! You saved the day as far as I'm concerned!
No worries. Glad to help when I can.

Possible to re-run aroma installer?

I just installed CR 5.0 and I selected some bloat that I don't want any more in aroma. I I can't get rid of it anymore. Is it possible to rerun it? I do I have to re flash?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
You can just wipe caches and reflash ROM. You'll have all your data but not the bloat you don't want.
Or use something like titanium backup to just uninstall the bloat you don't want.

Thanks for the quick reply but I have a very nooby question. How do you use titanium to backup and restore. I thought I new how to do it but It ended up not working. I saved my backup to my sdcard and tried to restore right from there. Any help on what to do is appreciated.

Two things, what is the error for Google play. Also to unroot just open supersu and under options there is a unroot option.
But let's fix your play first. Have you cleared app days by going to settings app management finding play and clicking clear data

Try clearing the data of play store first. Do you have super su or super user app? Also did you change anything else? And what do you mean update, like the ota?

Then you're not rooted anymore anyways. If you try a root app it will fail. It sucks but in your case I would say perform a factory reset

You don't need your computer. Plus as far add I know it doesn't work on a Mac. Use " super backup" to save your texts, " easy MMS export" to save MMS, and ROM TOOLBOX to back up apps. You're going to lose all your app data though. Once done under security option in settings select restore

[Q] Suppress OTA 4.1.2

I've looked and I can't find anything on this. Is there a way to edit build.prop or something to suppress this update? I've tried several roms, there is always something that does not work. I could live with it but my security camera software is not connecting on the latest attempt, I'm perfectly happy with what I had. I haved restored back but the notification persists.
Freeze the system app "sdm 1.0" using an app like Titanium Backup. After doing this, any time you try to check for updates in Settings, it will force close.

Thanks! It is frozen and it force closes as you said! Great!
Great! Will have to try it later this week, after I restore what I had before the OTA. Thanks.
