I am trying to get my phone to stock condition. Unfortunately, Titanium Backup keeps asking me to hit "install" for EACH of the 75 apps that I am trying to install. I thought it was supposed to be semi-automated? Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Max
I sure would like a way to do this faster too - last time I restored to stock I had 95 apps to restore ....... one at a time.......

I figured out how to do it. The paid app works perfect. I'm cheap, but it was worth it for me.

Yup, took my phone out of my coat pocket and the thing was hot looked to see what processes was running strange one, this Factory Test what is it?
If you are rooted and have Titanium Backup, simply freeze it.. I did when I first got my SR back in November and haven't had a problem.
I use bloat freezer free. Allows you to scroll through all apps and shows which are running( including system apps that are hidden) I freeze tethering manager to allow use if native AP app and freeze bloat

LOL crazy!
But seriously why is your phone not rooted?? It's free easy and makes your phone so much more usable.
I did a search but I didn't find it, I could have missed it so I'm sorry in advance. I just want to be rid of the triangle update notification. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Settings>Applications>Manage application>All>DMClient>Clear data
Then if you are rooted you can freeze dmclient with titanium backup or just switch to a custom Rom

Thanks for asking this, I wanted to do the same as I just rooted and it was trying to update already.
Titanium Backup does not have the freeze feature on the free version.
I ended up using an App called Root Uninstaller

If you also stop the application here then it will never run again (also after reboot).
But when you want it back just use the check update under about tablet.
Worked on mine TF.
You then don't need Titanium Backup for this.
Does anyone know here what app that's ok to freeze using tb?
Im afraid to use kj6 debloater because i might need those app later on.

You can always back up your apps with TB and reinstall back later.

You're making it harder on yourself. Do a full titaniumbackup and then use my debloater. If/when you need the app again do a titanium restore for that app. Much easier than freezing by hand.
ok...
can u just give me a list of the apps to remove?
anyway i just wanna remove those BACKROUND RUNNING APPS
I agree with FB backup->debloat-> enjoy lol
Look at a rom in the development section called SimplySimple he has a bunch of apps removed and he lists them that might help you know which apps are ok to remove

I use Gemini App Manager. It shows you which apps have "autorun" code in them and you can selectively kill the "autorun" codes you want.
Nice

You should still debloat. And help us keep the forum from getting bloated. Your post today could have gone in your previous thread. And consider hitting thanks.
If you want a list of apps you can safely remove try this.
Debloat. You have no idea how much ram will free up. Just do not get rid of Visual Voicemail. You already have a copy of the rom you downloaded- just unzip it, look in the system folder, and there will be all of the apks that come with the rom. If you want those apps back, simply load them on your sd card, and push them using a program similar to root explorer back into the system folder that they were originally located.
If your running Valhalla Black, don't get rid of Amazon Mp3.
I make the mistakes so you don't have to
Why not Amazon mp3?

At first it caused a process related to it to keep bringing up a force close message. The only way to remove it was by removing that process.
Here's the catch- once you remove that process, a process called com.android.xxxx (can't remember), starts force closing, which in turn resets your phone. I was also loosing my signal randomly.
I also had flashed other roms before. It could be some part of my phone was corrupted. I couldn't get a log because quite frankly, I needed a phone that worked again. I would just be safe and leave it alone.
The debloater is completely safe though- just don't get rid of visual voicemail.
I froze the amazon mp3, but all is well

That's the difference. I deleted it completely. Good to know it worked.

Ok, here it goes. I have been using tbu for a few years now on various phones. I am using version 3.9.0.1. This is one of the first problems i have had with it. When I go to install or uninstall any app, I get a force close. I have tried numerous things to get it working again with no success. Anyone have any thoughts?

The only thing i can think of is, i have too many apps backed up. I have 247 user apps that equal 3gb. I don't know, I'm lost on this. I might back them all up on my computer, then start uninstalling them normally. I'll get rid of 50 or so and then use tbu and see if it acts any better.

Have you contacted the developer? Also they have a decent troubleshooting wiki over here that talks about FC's and crashing >> Titanium Backup Wiki

So is it okay to flash it over jelly bean? I heard that once you go to an upgraded ROM it isn't that simple to downgrade it back.

No, you have to do a full wipe. Which is wipe data/factory reset and format system in recovery then you can have your gb rom back.

It's not safe to restore apps from different android versions. They might force close, install them fresh from the play store to be extra careful.
Happy flashing

For some games it will work. But it is always better to do a fresh install, I guess restoring your levels in games wouldn't be a problem, Just don't restore important apps like root apps or something.

Can I ask why you are deciding to downgrade to GB?
Already did it. Just for a change. My phone was pre loaded with JB when I bought the phone so I'd never seen GB on this.
Now it is much faster and very good battery backup.
