Got it on xmas eve last year, been nekkid the whole time too.
No case, not even a screen protector.

Never
10char

Never, no case, no screen protector this phone is a steel brick

Not once. I am glad I didnt have to either considering how many times I have flashed a new rom to it.

Never. Build 1105.
I did brick it about a month ago, Adam Outler performed the un-brickable mod.

Wife's went back once (should have have went again, but didn't). Mine, never.

Once. It kept going asleep and it was in the known range of problem phones.

Twice, The First Time for hardware problems, the second one!!! Well let's just say that XDA Developers have the best collection of Captivate Firmware Collection Around!!! jajajaja!!!!

3....one hard bricked..then other 2 refurbished had issues. The current one is rocking since last 6 months.
sent from Xronified touchpad

Twice for random shutdowns...then got a 1101 build. Much better.

Zero times! My phone build is 11.03. Never had a problem with it and I get good GPS reception!

never
still rocking a 1007

Never, this 1007 build has been working great for 18 months now.

Have 2 in my family. Have had exactly 5 returns before we got ones that worked properly.

Once and it was my fault, I was feeling lucky and flashed something I knew was a bit sketchy and then BAM!

Once, had a bad 3.5 jack. Over a year ago, still running the 1008 replacement

I have an 1101, but I experience several shutdowns a week. I'm out of warranty now, though, so I'm stuck with it until a phone comes out that tickles my fancy.

Twice. Once it died, and once I bricked it.

What's the date code and first four and last four digits of your IMEI code? I just got my third replacement and it's another in the range of those with random shutdown issue.
I can't believe AT$T is sending out refurbs within the affected IMEI range as replacements for those with random shutdowns.

Apparently not, as the first 2 still had random shutdowns and worse than my original phone. So far, the third one has not shutdown, but I've only had it a day.
At least the GPS works.
Ya they're lots of hardware issues with different cappys. Think I read somewhere that 3 different plants were involved in making them so somewhere good and some not so good. As for me, my gps worked on stock and most custom roms
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Well I bought my Cappy about 2 months ago and my gps has yet to function properly. I even flashed 2.2 froyo UCJI6 a month ago and nothing changed. I had to flash back to 2.1 stock to get the official 2.2 KB1 update thinking that the gps would possibly work but it still takes forever to get a gps lock. I just about given up on my cap. Im do for an upgrade next month and I'm still clueless as to which route to go. Motorola Atrix or Infuse 4g but I'm thinking the Samsung will just be the same problems. Maybe I'll just wait to see what new 4g phones at&t comes out with.

I lied. Since I knew they wouldn't touch my phone sure to gps, I used the "random reboot" excuse. My old phone was a 1007. Karma bit me.
My first replacement in sunday would not get a lock. I left it plugged in for half an hour on the patio. Never got a lock. It kept reconnecting. Called att that day, call from hell, but got a replacement sent out. Waited more then 24 before concluding it works.

Happy Anniversary!

Three years ago today, T-Mobile released the World's first Android-powered mobile phone- the T-mobile g1.
The trusty g1.. Ah those were the days. Mine was a trooper.

just left mine this monday it did me well but i don't miss it!

I can still remember the day I got my G1, good memories.
It was only 3 years ago? Dang...
I actually am looking to buy another g1. I loved that phone.
Crazy how fast Android blew up in the past 3 years, i didnt really feel the need to get another phone till june of this year, and that's cuz the g1 is probaly the most supported device to this day and has craploads of dev support/kernels/radios/bootloaders to change up the performance of the phone. It really was a great and fun phone to have and play with and i might also just buy another one for my kids to play with!
Seems like yesterday... I got my g1 because I wanted to be a part of the android revolution. I remember when jesusfreke said he was done and told is that there was this guy, cyanogen, that we should follow... that was back when he was just one guy! Err, I guess he is still one guy, but you know what I mean... so far it had been a great ride...

Three years?? Damn we are waaay back... at my country android just started to be famous.... it was all about "blackberries" and "iphones" XD XD
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
actually android inc was created in 2003 and sold to google in 2007 thats when they started to make phones
I went to order the G1 three first day it was released and it wasn't available in my area, so I ordered it for when it was. Under day it was to strove out hadn't come when I left for work (i worked evenings) and I live in a small town, so I drove around until I daw the UPS man, and got him up give me my package. First smart phone I had and android had since ruined me
Still have mine, I loved that phone. By far one of the best keyboards to come out on a phone.

I think I got mine on like June 13th or so. It's been good so far.
Some frustrations with certain roms, but then others run really well.
Happy Birthday G2x!
Yep, I got mine on April 20 and am still using it (with V21y now). Mostly haven't had all the problems people have complained about, although it's never been what I'd call rock-solid. V21y seems promising, though.
I got my G2x on the 21st of last year. It's been a great phone in my personal experience.

And their warranty is over.
I purchased mine on release day, and didn't have all the problems that others had. Although, I had to get a new phone using insurance in February because I dropped my original one and shattered the screen. But, even this refurbished one has been great!

I still find myself messing with my g2x even though I'm rocking sprints galaxy s 2 atm, my g2x has also been good 2 me and it still is a beast of a phone. I think the only gripe I have with the epic4g touch is the way the partitions are different on it compared to my previous 3 phones, which I could use link2sd on.

Quality control - my 4th SGS3!

Anybody else out there having amazingly bad luck with your GS3? I just got a 3rd refurb and it came with the power button loose, and fell off in under 3 hours when I tried to use it. They are sending me a new unit instead of a refurb this time - priority overnight. This is the 2nd one I've had with a power button that came off! #2 just rebooted randomly more-and-more every day until I gave up figuring it out after a factory reset and "Safe Mode" start - it would still reboot just sitting there. *SMH* :silly:

Jumped up and down, calmly getting elevated from first-line tech until I got the "customer advocate". She agreed that if I had gotten two defective "recertified" phones, I deserved to have a real (new) one. I had to agree to a two year contract, which in my case only adds 9 weeks to my commitment and they agreed not to change my TOS. Basically they did an end run around themselves, because it will look like I upgraded my phone again, allowing them to ship a new unit. *SMH*

Do you suppose these type of returns are what prompts Verizon to keep the bootloader locked down? If I were Verizon I'd sure want to.

mine has this weird line going down the left side of the screen
its only noticeable if you have a light source shinning on it and holding the device at an angle, doesn't effect viewing quality at all
slightly annoys me but im not about to return it and get a scratched up refurb phone in return

Why you love your Mytouch 4G

There are allot of reasons I love my phone, but just yesterday I dropped mine in the fish tank! WoW I was worried about it not working anymore. Did the normal steps to dry it out. To my surprise it is fine.
Thanks to all of you on xda for keeping old phones working better then factory.

In the fish tank? Jesus. You must have been quick about taking that battery out. That or REALLY lucky.
Ordered my Nexus 4 on Nov. 13th. Still waiting.
Speaking of fish tanks, I went to sea world this last summer and sat in the splash zone for the killer whales and got drenched with my phone in my pocket. I wiped it off and kept using it afterwards like nothing happened. I was expecting at least my mic or headset to screw up but its been fine since.

I've had this phone for 2 years, and it still works well....there are better phones out there now, but none are impressive enough to make me drop $300. Recently rooted it and installed ICS, and at this rate who knows when I'll get sick of it....
I had this kind of accident too. The phone works well after that. This is really a good phone.
