it works on the OG SGS2

No, the two phones have different baseband chips, so baseband files will be different. Besides, I tried that app and it didn't work

He is right the apps dont work go here http://www.cellunlocker.net/

[Q] Porting Infuse to Cincinnati Bell

Anybody have any luck porting a Infuse over to Cincinnati Bell?
I seem to only get the Edge network and can't receive MMS (even after trying 247,987 different settings....)
What a fantastic device and I sure would hate to lose it.....

What bands does Cincinatti Bell use for 3G? If they use the same bands as T-Mobile, this would explain the Infuse being stuck at EDGE. There is no way around this.
They use the same as T-Mobile so it will be edge only.
Yeah it is the same as tmobile. 1700/aws is the typical band for their 3g I'm pretty sure.

Gentlemen, thanks for the info.
I was fairly certain that was going to be a hard limitation. I just wanted to run it by my XDA friends before I had a visit to eBay.
I was given this by AT&T as a “gift” if I would stay with them and admittedly it was enticing since I actually found the Infuse as close to perfect for my needs.
Oh well “eBay meet my Infuse…..”
Ps – anyone want to make a recommendation on a close replacement out of these choices (or what to avoid);
HTC Panache
Huawei Ascend
Samsung Vibrant
Samsung Nexus s 3g
Dell Streak 5
Motorola Milestone XT720
Tmobile actually has a goods selection of nice android phones like the gtx2 galaxy s 4 and some others which should work nicley on cincy bell. But if tmobile merges with att idk if they will tell bell to find a new frequency or if since they are local att won't care thinking it won't clog up the data bandwidth too much. Then you'd do all this for nothing you know what I mean lol
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997R using XDA App
If you liked the infuse, the vibrant is going to be very similar, possibly the nexus s as well. Personally, I would grab a tmobile HTC sensation from the marketplace on here or eBay for 350-400 or so and use that.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
I would avoid Huawei at all costs. Their policy on updates is, "Want an update? Buy this slightly modified variant of the same device you already own." and "Accessories? What accessories? That dock connector is just there to look pretty and sell tablets to idiots like you that don't know us yet."
Yes, I'm a VERY bitter S7 owner.

Galaxy s 2 T-Mobile or the international vrs?

I'm considering buying this phone outright to replace my vibrant and was wondering wich one I should get...pros/cons.
Never tried the international vers with the exynos processor but the tmobile version is definitely a beast and the data speeds are ridiculous. I would suggest getting the tmo version. Also you would probably be able to get the tmo version cheaper.

T-Mobile told me that the 3-4g data was compatible and that everything would work fine so long as it is unlocked.

Nope, T-Mobile and the Telus version are the only ones that support T-Mobile's 42mbps. The only good I have heard about the International version is that it has a better processor than ours and that the software is free of lag. Our phone has a slight lag, but nothing major. Its hard to explain because our phone feels so fast, but every once in a while you'll get an occasional stutter. That minor issue seems like its just software based so it should be/can be fixed.

What about our 3g bands?
The exynos processor is a beast. My lady has the att gs2 and its pretty snappy but there's not much noticeable difference. I'm super happy with my gs2 and the snapdragon s3 is no slouch.

3G and 4G will not work. I just sold my white i9100 because I use T-Mobile. If you've never had the i9100 you'll be fine but if you ever hold them side by side, you'll be sorry you did. The exynos runs circles around ours in real world use. But really, if you're T-Mobile and have never had the i9100 you'll love it.

I kinda figured that, and is one of the reasons I made this post.....I am curious as to how many different customer service agents I could ask that, and how many different answers I'd get
I strongly suggest the international version. Sure the T-Mo version has a bigger screen and higher data speeds, but the screen also has a lot of issues (manufacturer's fault, there are dark blobs and lines all over the place in gray and black areas), and the data speeds are not going to make much of a difference, trust me, especially if you're in an area with really good service. Plus the Exynos blows Snapdragon out of the water with overall performance, as well as benchmark scores. Plus if anything, it will be much easier to sell.

Only touchwiz rom is free of lag since its hardware acceleration gingerbread roms are not hardware accelerated. It's hard to make a single core lag with a proper kernel and software enhancements on gingerbread. Once we get ics it lag will be virtually invisible on all devices.

It comes down to hardware , the Exynos cannot get TMO 4g speeds it is not capable, but it is a "faster" CPU, so if you want 4g speeds now or in the future the Exynos in the international is not going to work regardless of the frequency.
This is the reason that the TMO version has the Snapdragon.

The T-Mobile GSII if you'll be using T-Mobile. I like the shape of the I9100, too, but no 3G/"4G" is the ultimate dealbreaker especially on a $600+ phone. There is also the GSM Galaxy Nexus which has T-Mobile 3G AND the slightly higher resale value. I wish more OEMs would build phones supporting AWS bands. HTC does this with most of their newer phones. Samsung does so but only at the behest of Google, it seems. Motorola and Sony-Ericsson should follow suit. Didn't mean to go off topic but that's just my $.02...

T-Mobile "Rugged" Phone

So I just switched from Sprint to T-Mobile and am very happy. I like the fact that I have a sim card and can switch it from hone to phone. I have the Samsung Exhibit II 4G and like the phone. My question is there any "rugged" phones out there that would work for T-Mobile? I also am interested in a "Rugged" flip phone that will do Phone/SMS so that if I am going to some place that might be real hard on a phone, I can put my sim in it and sill have phone and texting. I know Sanyo makes a nice small flip phone that is rugged, but I don't think it uses a sim card.
So what "Specs" am I looking for when seeing if the phone will work on T-Mobile?

I'd recommend the Motorola defy. I had one when I was with T-Mobile. I planned on going back to tmo and getting one for the same reason you want to. Overall its a great little phone.

Skyrocket vs. SGS II i9100?

I'm looking at buying a used phone as an upgrade. I've got the no-upgrade T-Mobile plan so I'm paying out of pocket full price.
I am looking into getting a Galaxy S II and the Skyrocket seems to go for around $50 cheaper on ebay than the i9100. But specs wise it seems the same if not better (bigger screen and LTE). Is there a reason that I'm missing?
I'm looking for anything in the $250-$300 dollar range, so if you can point me to something better I'd appreciate it. I'm currently using the Samsung Vibrant. Most important thing for me is GPS speed and accuracy, which is abismal on the Vibrant.
you do reliaze that skyrocket and i9100 are NOT compatible with tmobile data , and also will not work as gsm unless unlocked ... fast forward , get the t mobile SII.
SkyRocket can work with T-Mo band, but not in stock form - will require baseband flash.
If you're on T-Mobile get a T-Mobile phone.

Canadian Galaxy Note 3 Users

Welcome fellow Canadians!
Seeing as the Galaxy Note 3 is going to be released in Canada very shortly (October 4th), I figured we should get some discussion going on where you're buying, and any speculations to price points.
I just got off of a chat with Telus, regarding an email I had received, offering $50 off a device when you sign a contract, OR, stay month-to-month. So you can save a bit of money for those who are purchasing the phone outright, or even signing up for a new contract. You need to call a special sales line: 1-877-279-3900
Also, while she couldn't officially confirm, the rep did tell me that she would strongly suggest I go to a corporate store on Friday.. Obviously this is just in case there are shipping delays (doubtful) but I think that it's quite safe to say that it's coming out on Friday!
Currently, Wind Mobile is the only carrier to officially announce their pricing, but I think that it would be safe to say that the other carriers will be in line (roughly) with Wind.
- WIND 40: $449
- WIND 30: $549
- WIND 33: $549
- WIND 20: $649
- Outright: $749
I was also able to "confirm" with the rep, that the price point for Telus would probably fall around $799, so that isn't too far off of Wind's pricing.
Discuss anything related to the Canadian launch of the Note 3!

Which International Model Works Best In Canada N900 or N9005?
Hi Guys
As the title states, which model works best in Canada specifically on Bell, the N900 or N9005 model? Also will I get full LTE with the N9005 model? I've tried researching them and keep finding different answers. Sorry if this topic has been covered prior. Just sold my Xperia Z Ultra C6833 to jump over to the N3. Or should I wait for the Canadian release on Bell which I believe is this Friday Oct.4th?

Im having the same problem myself. Wondering which models will work on Rogers with LTE? Its difficult to understand the band and frequency numbers. I have never had to research a phone like this before I bought it. Some of the numbers match and some dont, does that mean it'll work? Or does it have to have every number matching?
But ya, my question is the same, will an unlocked N9005 LTE work on Rogers?
You can't quote me on this, but if you're looking for LTE, then the only version hat works would be the Qualcomm N9005. I believe the N9000 is the octa core 3G international version.

Hey AllGamer, nice to see you back from the Galaxy S2 days
I found the Wind Mobile pricing from Mobilesyrup: http://mobilesyrup.com/2013/09/28/w...laxy-note-3-on-october-4th-heres-the-pricing/
Bell also announced their pricing today as well, off contract: $799.95 (http://mobilesyrup.com/2013/10/01/bell-samsung-galaxy-note-3-to-cost-799-95-outright/). Which is right around the pricing that the CSR told me yesterday.
Does anyone know for sure, 100%, if the T-Mobile version of the Note 3 will work on Wind? Normally this is the case, but I ask because the T-Mobile version is the snapdragon model whereas Wind is going to be carrying the Exynos model.
I really want the dev support, and from what i gather, dev support is going to be none-existent for the Exynos version? Or is this maybe not going to be as accurate as it is/was for the S4? Or am i wrong about the S4 here too? I just remember reading and hearing that samsung doesn't release source code for the kernel etc for the Exynos chips - which i don't understand fully because I did read a few posts about how samsung had released the source for the Note 3 (or maybe it was the Note 10.1 2014) with the Exynos chip...
can anyone shed light on these issues for me?
Specifically, four questions:
1. T-Mobile Snapdragon phone on Wind Mobile? (Or any other snapdragon phones on Wind?)
2. How does the dev support look like it will be for the Exynos version that Wind Mobile is going to be selling?
3. Does the source code that samsung released for the Exynos model of either the note 3 or note 10.1 2014 mean that they are releasing more source code than they used to for their Exynos chips? Or was this stuff all released for other chips too?
4. Do you guys know if there will be a way to purchase the Note 3 outright from wind if you are not going to be on a new contract? I'm on wind already and i want to keep my existing plan because it's a better deal than any plan they have had since they offered this one, but i obviously want to buy this phone friday... i know with the S3 i had to activate a new plan, but of course then i just threw out the new sim card - worry here is that one wind guy told me that for the first month they may not even allow outright purchases only purchases on the wind tab, in which case i couldn't just throw out the sim card and use my old one could i?
