I've designed and built this website a while ago. It was originally designed for the HTC Desire ICS ROM from Sandvold.

The website is aimed at the Developers presenting their custom ROM or Theme in a way that is both functional and "welldesigned".
The main design of it is quite basic. The goal is to not make it too hard for visitors to find what they are looking for. Top reasons for the visitors to visit the website is downloading the ROM they want (with possible addons) and reading what has changed in the changelog.
I've seen websites around that are quite hectic and it is not always easy for visitors to easily find what they want.
On the left of the website, the Developer can showcase their ROM or Theme. It is animated, so multiple screens can be showcase which will fade.
On the right it gives the options to download the ROM/Theme and additional information such as the Changelog and About.
When clicking on the Download button, the whole website will slide to the left which will reveal detailed info and links to the downloads the Developer wishes to provide.
Also added, is the ability to share the ROM/Theme via Social Media (Google+, Facebook, Twitter) to spread the word.
As an additional feature, the website has a specially designed version for mobile view. When the website is visited with a mobile device, it will automatically show the website in a mobile friendly way.
Screenshots (~60% of original size):
After clicking the Download button, the Download Option Panel Slides the website to the left:

The website can be used as (in a way) a template, for everyone to use. You can customize the colors and images to make it fit your ROM or Theme.
Currently there are 5 versions. The HTC One S, the HTC Desire, the Galaxy Tab, the HTC Sensation and the Sidekick 4G.
Only requests by users that can show that they have their own ROM/Theme might be added.
My question is, is there any interest in this from the Developers? It's basicly a very clean and quick way of presenting your ROM or Theme.
At the moment, every ROM and Theme, that have their own website, use a Wordpress (or any other CMS) theme. These are not always as nice and clear to find what you are looking for as a visitor.
For example, if all Developers would use the same template to showcase their ROM/Theme, that would bring a lot more unity on the external websites that are linked from all the ROM/Theme threads on the XDA Forum.
Currently in use, with their own styling of the website, by

This looks pretty damn awesome.
It would be cool if more developers began to use it.
EDIT: I like the design of the site, but I think there should be some more colors at the top. Black with barely visible line is rather meh.
I love the design,I would need this. Is there any download link?Cuz I can't see it.

The plan is to first see how many interest there is.
I think it would also be a good idea to make it available for recognized developer/forum users that actually have developed a ROM or Theme, and not just make it available to everyone.
I think many more people would be interested in this, but as you can see, many people who are developing ROMs,know almost or nothing about webdesign or even website making.
As for me,I would really apreciate if I could have it.
I am silently working on a ROM for the LG Optimus One(later for other phones),which is a very small, slim version of android,ONLY necesarry apps are included, also I'm gonna change some stuff in it to make it as fast and smooth as possible, plus more battery efficient.
I would love to use this as my rom's website theme.
The site itself looks awesome..However I'd prefer to stick with my Wordpress.org solution. I couldnt do without all the plugins on Wordpress and hard coding the databases (I have mandatory registration to download), comment system, multisite db sharing, etc would be so hectic...
Nice work though..What I'd like is to add a Wordpress theme like this.. You get the best of both the worlds.
Any website template can be converted to a Wordpress theme.
Phantom Pt. II, is this a plain HTML website or is it a Wordpress theme?

It's HTML, with PHP includes to make it easy to edit the stuff you would want to edit (so there's no way to destroy the website by mistake).
If someone is able to make a Wordpress theme out of this, I would love to work together. As long as there are no ways money will be made out of my design without me knowing.

I can help you convert it into a wordpress theme if you'd like. I don't want to make money from it so no need to worry about that
Cool. Both, check your Inbox.
Please guys, send me a message when the port to WP is done,I wanna donate for it,I badly need this Looks awesome ^^
I am unsure about making it a Wordpress theme. Possibly not going to happen.
The website itself already is easy to edit in terms of updates and text. The editable texts are in seperate .php files, for easy access.
I would like to thave the theme,no matter if it isn't a wordpress theme.
I'm done with my rom,but I don't want to publish it without me having a decent looking website.
How much should I donate for the website?
I make roms and themes and mods for the sidekick 4g. I'd be interested in using this website.
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA Premium App
Sidekick 4G is available now as well!

"Here is a port of the fabulous theme by jdwme, one of the best theme makers to grace android"
Im going to assume that is a self-proclaimed title, because this theme is not up to par.
The icons in the notification bar look horrible, they also look as if they were mismatched from various places - it ruins the feel of the theme just by itself. The power control widget is also a pain to look at, it wasn't even made properly to cradle the on/off green bars, as they can be seen floating ontop of the widget.
Replacing the default icons in a theme also is not a good idea, especially if some of the default are left in-tact.. and if they dont look to good that can also turn people away. I assume these problems are why this theme hasnt become popular, or more so only has one post
Im new here, so I hope reviewing themes in the manner I did is allowed.
This is a port of the original if there is a prob with the theme its self I would have posted in the original thread. Ryan is spending his time porting themes what the hell do you do oh....I know talk S#!t lmao...

As stated its a port of a theme that was made by jdwme. This theme is an older theme and was made for the G1 hence the graphics looking off. This is his original work I didn't and won't modify his work. Also since its an older theme and I didn't modify anything some of the notification icons weren't available so I had to use the default template img's. Which default icons were left intact? Since its a older theme some of the default icons aren't available as android is constantly evolving and google has added many new apps in /system since this theme came out.
The title means just what it says, "Here is a port of the fabulous theme by jdwme, one of the best theme makers to grace android". It seems like a clear statement to me not sure why your confused by it. I'll clear it up just in case, it means jdwme's theme was fabulous and I ported it for nexus. As far as popularity is concerned I could care less if its popular or not, not out to win popularity contests just to present options to people as far as themes are concerned.

If you consider what I did talking "s#it", then hey, you know I'm fine with that. I was espressing my opinion on the theme as all, and I definetly knew what I said was going to start arguements.. well, not arguements, but bickering - in which I don't really feel like participating in. From your logic it seems one who does not make, and/or port themes cannot comment or say anything about other's themes - or to sum it up, those who do not contribute in the process get no say in anything.
Should I make a formal apology for what I said, or should I not post here again for the sake of myself - I'll go with number 2...and number 1. To prevent any soon to be had problems.
I'm, sorry for commenting on other people's themes in a somewhat harsh tone of text :\
Eclair: I am new here as well, but I think the underlying point is that most people offer their products for free and as such no reason to be a pointless jerk(not to mention he clearly said this is a PORT). I am about as third party as it gets being new and no developer, and that comment was harsh however you look at it. You would be better served suggesting an update in the status bar icons compared to simply trashing them.
Just my two cents.
Again, I love the theme and will install soon as it’s updated for Cyanogen’s mod. Too lazy to switch

Eclair~ I think the issue is this:
By saying jdwme is one of the greatest theme creators, that is not to say that this is the greatest theme ever created. Like saying Van Gogh was one of the greatest painters of all time, you may not like one certain painting, but it is still widely accepted that he is a great artist. Jdwme has done a lot for theming, because you are new here, you probably didn't know that. A lot of people on here came from the G1 forums and have been on Android for some time.
The point Manup was making was that instead of being so critical of what you think of it, make something better. The people that create themes, ROM's, and other hacks work hard and spend a great deal of their valuable time doing it. The comment you made came across as incredibly ingrateful of all the work they have spent doing something for free. There have been countless people on here who didn't know much about anything android and maybe a little computer knowledge, but thanks to the tutorials they have learned everything they need to know.
Someone sounds like an over emotional girl (Eclair) =_=;
Hi
I launch this thread for porting Windows phone 7 UI on HD2 with a wimo 6.5 or 6.5.3 rom
This skin must be a pluging as htc sense for replace it (so don't use a WAD or other if it's possible )
This porting is totaly free and all people who want to work on it can share you work here
Thereafter, when the work is well advanced, may be you can make a donation if you love the work done for motivated designers and developers but this work remains TOTALY FREE and all peoples may have all version of it!
At this moment, all donations are refused while a first release is not published
Peoples who want to work on it, you can send a mp if you need a private forum or other for dev/design quietly
I think that dev can reuse a sense elements, if they succeed to extract them
I've a lot of ideas for start it, I will update gradually ideas in this post
For designers:
- What elements can you redesign with WP7 skin? home buttons?
- What elements saw in WP7 movies you can create?
For developers:
- What elements can you extract to htc sense or other pluging of WiMo for reused with redesign or not?
- How to create a skin which integrates in WiMo 6.5 or 6.5.3 in the theme manager?
- How to hind the task bar of WiMo?
- What graphics (button or other) you need to create control buton in plugin?
- Develop a new Shell app?
already designer interested, need developers yet...
For reference of WP7 you can see this movies:

And few screens here:
Things needed:
- need developers
- create buttons of WP7
- see movies for see panoramic background and create it
If you have other references who can interested designer or developer, send me by mail and I will update this post
Thanks for your partipation

it's may be because there is not ideas
I've lot of ideas, I will update my first post with much ideas for begin this project
If you have some clues, please get down to work we're looking forward to getting in touch with such a new OS.......... as long as it is truly new
first post update:
- few ideas for dev and designer (I still have much)
- need developers, already few designers found but other is accept too
- few references of WP7
I've been thinking abit about this, but I really don't see how a good WP7-"theme" can be made. I think a new shell-app needs to be developed more or less from the bottom up to make this work...
What's cool about wp7 is all the nice application, the panoramic backgrounds, and elements shifting independently from each other. You will also need to be able to scroll up and down on every screen.
I've been playing around with some OpenGL-development, but I'm really putting most of my time into the project noted in my signature so I don't really have the time.. I would look at different OpenGL wrappers, both unmanaged and managed to see if the different design-elements can be easily recreated, and then just go ahead and build it from the bottom....
so we must developed a new shell app with open GL?
is it possible to integrate a thème as htc sense in windows manager thème by developing a shell?
in first time, I think that the first thing to create is a design so if scroll effect and other isn't present in this plugin, we shall see when we already done this and when we are a plugin that is work with news buttons of WP7
Any one (a designer) can create all home button of WP7 and see for background? PollPixx? DeKey?
Thanks you
First post update:
- add new ideas for dev
- add new category: things needed
This is nearly impossible...
I mean, we can use programs like WisBar Advance, but it'll never be like WP7: the animations are not supported for what I remember...
The Eugenia Project Developer
-kholk
WisBar Advance is not integrate in the theme manager
Is it possible integrate it?
What is the best integration possible for a theme?
WisBar + links modifications in all elements used by the theme?
Today plugin with WP7 design can be a solution, with a custom windows mobile taskbar
may be that cook a rom with theme modifications is easiest than to create a theme separatly

Good beginning, but I think that dev will need all buttons separatly
I will see with a developer if all buttons separatly is possible because in few time, may be we can move buttons same we want
When we have few buttons, I will attach in first post for that dev can be use it

This is the issue with forums, opinions. You have every right to your opinion, but to tell someone not to post something is wrong. His opinion is, it's nice looking vs. your opinion, it's poor taste to mix match and to post iPhone items in a Android community.
This isn't just a Android community, last time I checked it wasn't. It is a community were we help one another accomplish something. If it is something someone wanted or find useful, then it helped. If it doesn't please you, move on.
Thank you for the icons, will be using them shortly and post screen shots.

I agree with the mixing and matching part to an extent. Icon wise...most apps for android suck and look cheesy or just cut/pasted. Since we share some of the same apps with the iphone i don't see why we cant use the square icons as they sit better next to each other anyway.
I wish the devs of apps would follow google's icon guideline but sadly most don't.
I meant no disrespect by posting these, I just think they look nice no matter the OS. Im using Fresh Rom With these icons.

After using an iPhone for years its very interesting how the two different power user crowds differ. Most people on android are interested in custom ROMs, power efficiency, overclocking, performance, etc; the crowd at MacThemes is all about theming and beautiful designs.
I'm grateful for the community we have here, but I do at times miss the designers in the iPhone community. For that reason, I think it is perfectly fine to use their icons (with credit, of course). I just wish we had a powerful theming application like winterboard... (okay, fine, we have metamorph...)

After using Android os for a long time, I wonder whether I could get rid of the original android interface and some fixed functions.
So, after confusing for such a long time, I decide to develop a new os which could be installed on Android Smartphone, and I have been putting my effort on it.
PLS Read Carefully before downloading...
But there are two bugs for foreigners that I have already known and trying to fix it.
**Known issues:
1. The weather which on the front page only works in China.
2. News widget is now Chinese and if you do not want to see it, you could close it in the settings.
I’m so sorry to bring you inconvenient.
Even thought I call it GEAK OS, But actually it is a series of apps which including launcher, massager, dialer etc.
I start with important apps which are highly used in our daily life like these.
Install instructions:
- Here is the test version,
And refer to the latest post.
Thanks for using my os, and cause I have been give out too many codes, and some of you just uninstall it right after installing.
I know im not perfect for the present, That's why I need your help.
U could talk with me and guys who like Geakos too.
Some guys have been giving me very good feedback.
I have to thank them sooooo much.
So, If U REALLY want use Geakos and are happy to stay and talk, you could [Mod Edit].
Hope you could give me some ideas about my job.
Let's make it better together !!!
Do not forget to like me ^^
ALSO, you could tell us your advice about our operating system.
I plan to update Geak os every week depending on your needs!!! This week on Wednesday!
But once you uninstall it, you could not update to the new version...
I have to mention this again, thanks so much for the support on FB and xda.
Thank you!

For the first glance, it is a little similar with miui.
But im trying to develop something different and new.
Hope you could give me some ideas and suggestions
And I plan to update every week!
Thank you
i know and it's a good idea...
for android rom could be a good alternative to miui lite..
however i have a suggestion to you :
you could add miui lite mode
http://en.miui.com/thread-19498-1-1.html
edit
i try it on miui 6 on mi2s and works good..
has alphabetically order of apps..very very nice..
however when i go in application settings in geaok osstatus bar don't see god because in under application settings..
Then can you add news from google weather and news app..It should nice..
another thing can you add infinite loop??
maybe it's useful for some people..for me it's useful when i work and i need a simply interface..
I knew "the medium is the massage" from Mc Luhan's famous book cover error, but if now we also can send a massage, great !
PS : just a joke, no offense !!

Thanks for your advise!!
I will analyze your need carefully and let you know which one may update in the following version.
For the news problem, im try to find API, but google's news and yahoo's news do not have articles in details. so im still trying to find some better.
Do you know the address of some good news API?
Have a nice weekend ~
for news you could use feedly api so everyone can use own feeds..
or integrate a simply rss aggregator..
Still a problem...

Contacts App shows Contracts inside. Please fix it. and the graphics can be a lot better. Its very choppy now with edges breaking. also the black theme and black text makes difficult to view certain screens/options. Hope to see it fixed soon.. All the best.
And is there a settings option??? I couldn't find one.

And for the graphics you mean the wallpaper?
Also the setting option is in the file of Tools on the first line of home page ~
Do you think it is better to just leave it alone on the homepage instead of in the Tools file?

By Graphics I meant the icons. It is very choppy (like stretched making it blurry for example the new msg icon in messages, phone dialer screen etc). and yes a straightforward icon for settings would be nice.
Also would there be any option to show the contacts photo in the contacts app?? That would be really cool.

Don't be a jerk, themes can't give massages.
You could probably get a better feedback if this was made public. Also could diagnose the problems quicker! ?

Hello XDA friends, today I'll present an app that will make your theming life really easy and pratical.
Theme DIY is an app to create themes (duh!) for CM12 Theme Engine but in a very friendly way. Anyone can use this app and choose the options and then the app will generate an APK file for the theme.
The app is still being tested and if you want to taste the power of theme-creating you'll need to join this community on G+ to be able to test it: https://plus.google.com/communities/108487614858895543145
The developer posted the Play Store link and a direct link if Play Store fails, so check it out!
Attention: I'm not the app developer, I just translated it to brazilian portuguese and wanted to share with you guys.
The G+ community has sections for reporting bugs, suggesting features and a cool theme creations sections so you can inspire yourself!
App updated! (March 24th):
Changelog for update v0.8:
-Removed "Material palette" panel, and replaced it with a more practical solution.
-Updated preview, show settings color instead of accent.
Important information:
Can I share the themes I created?
Yes you can, as long as it is for free. You are not allowed to sell themes generated with this app.
I found a bug, should I comment here?
There is a Bug Report section in the G+ page of the app. And please provide a logcat for errors!
I have a suggestion!
There is a Suggestions section in the G+ page of the app.
How to use it:
Here's a video of the app (thanks to YouTube channel AVKAppReviews):
The video was made in an 'old' version of the app, right now the app supports more features.
Detailed tutorial with images here: http://darkionsblog.com/news/how_to_use_cm12_theme_diy/2015-01-28-81
Check the attachments to see the names of the zones to be modified.
Liked the app? Hit the thanks button and show some love to the developer in his G+ community!

It's for CM12
This is pretty awesome. Is this just meant for individuals to theme their own devices, or can't it be used by themers to create their own themes for the Play Store. What exactly are the limitations to this tool in this area?
I'll need to ask the developer, but as much as I know, you could share your theme if it's free and if you inform that you created it using this app, but using this free app and then selling the themes seems wrong, right?
And if you mean how it works, it generates an .apk, so all you need to share (not in play store) would be sending that .apk to someone.
hi sir, does it works with odexed cm12.
i had to odex my cm12 build otherwise it takes 14 mn 30 to boot (odexed cm12 =1m30 to boot)
edit: yes it works on odexed cm12 ! good job indeed!
Awesome. Will try this. Thank you
Great APP thanks.
1. I found a not themed screen in display /expanded desktop.
2. Keyboard was themed in first time I use it, 2nd to 5th time no more themed.
May someone know why?

With bug reports better to contact the developer - https://plus.google.com/+DarkionAveyDev/posts
oh wow! This looks pretty cool. I'll have to give this a go and see what the outcome is. Thanks for the share.
Thanks for the share
I updated the first post with this information.
Can this be used to make themes for CM11? if not, what would be advised to use?
Thank you

When I first heard about this I thought it was a tool to help Themers create new CM12 themes, but sounds like its just for the everyday user to modify their device. While its a really cool tool, I would have *paid* to have this app catered to theme developers.

IMO, for 90% of the cases, it replaces Themers. I just tried 3 different themes, some featured on xda portal and other locations. All of them had problems with light on light or dark on dark elements, unthemed settings icons, etc. This is the first tool that has allowed me to make the simple tweaks I need to lollipop without breaking functionality...and it only took a few minutes.

I wouldn't say it replaces themers, but I will agree that a lot of the CM12 themes have had issues. But within the last few days there have been some really good updates coming from some of those themers to fix the issues.

To be fair, it's not entirely the fault of the themers. CM12's theme engine is still in a state of flux, and there are a lot of elements within CM12 that still have to be made more "theme-friendly." I'm sure it was probably the same way when the CM theme engine was first introduced in CM11, and also when the original T-Mobile theme engine was incorporated into CM7. It's one of the reasons why I'm holding off on producing CM12 versions of my own themes until things settle down. Once that happens, I'm sure we'll see hundreds of CM12 themes that are just as breathtaking as the ones we've seen for previous CM releases.
