[THEME] Meizu port enom 1.5.1 - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Here is a port of the fabulous theme by jdwme, one of the best theme makers to grace android. Absolutely all credit goes to him! A personal thanks to him from me for allowing me to port over his themes. Theme is for enom v1.5.1 only, when cyanogen releases his stable version will port it over Make sure you backup before flashing and don't blame me if you do something wrong. Make sure to come over to nexus nation, all kinds of good stuff going on there for Nexus! Link in my sig

awesome looking. Cant wait for CYanogen version.

"Here is a port of the fabulous theme by jdwme, one of the best theme makers to grace android"
Im going to assume that is a self-proclaimed title, because this theme is not up to par.
The icons in the notification bar look horrible, they also look as if they were mismatched from various places - it ruins the feel of the theme just by itself. The power control widget is also a pain to look at, it wasn't even made properly to cradle the on/off green bars, as they can be seen floating ontop of the widget.
Replacing the default icons in a theme also is not a good idea, especially if some of the default are left in-tact.. and if they dont look to good that can also turn people away. I assume these problems are why this theme hasnt become popular, or more so only has one post
Im new here, so I hope reviewing themes in the manner I did is allowed.

This is a port of the original if there is a prob with the theme its self I would have posted in the original thread. Ryan is spending his time porting themes what the hell do you do oh....I know talk S#!t lmao...

As stated its a port of a theme that was made by jdwme. This theme is an older theme and was made for the G1 hence the graphics looking off. This is his original work I didn't and won't modify his work. Also since its an older theme and I didn't modify anything some of the notification icons weren't available so I had to use the default template img's. Which default icons were left intact? Since its a older theme some of the default icons aren't available as android is constantly evolving and google has added many new apps in /system since this theme came out.
The title means just what it says, "Here is a port of the fabulous theme by jdwme, one of the best theme makers to grace android". It seems like a clear statement to me not sure why your confused by it. I'll clear it up just in case, it means jdwme's theme was fabulous and I ported it for nexus. As far as popularity is concerned I could care less if its popular or not, not out to win popularity contests just to present options to people as far as themes are concerned.

Ryan no prob man stick to the nation his name is Eclair~ means he is sweet inside lol...

If you consider what I did talking "s#it", then hey, you know I'm fine with that. I was espressing my opinion on the theme as all, and I definetly knew what I said was going to start arguements.. well, not arguements, but bickering - in which I don't really feel like participating in. From your logic it seems one who does not make, and/or port themes cannot comment or say anything about other's themes - or to sum it up, those who do not contribute in the process get no say in anything.
Should I make a formal apology for what I said, or should I not post here again for the sake of myself - I'll go with number 2...and number 1. To prevent any soon to be had problems.
I'm, sorry for commenting on other people's themes in a somewhat harsh tone of text :\

Eclair: I am new here as well, but I think the underlying point is that most people offer their products for free and as such no reason to be a pointless jerk(not to mention he clearly said this is a PORT). I am about as third party as it gets being new and no developer, and that comment was harsh however you look at it. You would be better served suggesting an update in the status bar icons compared to simply trashing them.
Just my two cents.
Again, I love the theme and will install soon as it’s updated for Cyanogen’s mod. Too lazy to switch

Eclair~ I think the issue is this:
By saying jdwme is one of the greatest theme creators, that is not to say that this is the greatest theme ever created. Like saying Van Gogh was one of the greatest painters of all time, you may not like one certain painting, but it is still widely accepted that he is a great artist. Jdwme has done a lot for theming, because you are new here, you probably didn't know that. A lot of people on here came from the G1 forums and have been on Android for some time.
The point Manup was making was that instead of being so critical of what you think of it, make something better. The people that create themes, ROM's, and other hacks work hard and spend a great deal of their valuable time doing it. The comment you made came across as incredibly ingrateful of all the work they have spent doing something for free. There have been countless people on here who didn't know much about anything android and maybe a little computer knowledge, but thanks to the tutorials they have learned everything they need to know.

Someone sounds like an over emotional girl (Eclair) =_=;

Yes! I don't think there's been a theme done for the desire Rom ?? I also agree with your comment about manup, I've learned alot from him as well
manup is a really good guy, he loves helping the community, he loves teaching people, but lately there is a group of people whom im not going to mention theyre names who enjoy bashing noobs or people who just want to learn, and also dont share theyre work and keep theyre work amongst themselves and brag. Theyre moral is making the android community look bad. I love helping people myself. Ive gone bankrupt helping people before i help myself its just the way i am. But enough of this, Should i do something different with the notification icons or no. Id like to get peoples opinions on this theme before i make the beta release tonight.
!!
To be honest with you, the desires notification icons are nice, if you do change them it will add more originality to your theme, I'm sure some people would appreciate that...
(and yes, I know who your talking about)...
if i make my own notification icons, should i release the beta tonight or should i do the icons which will take a few days, and then release.
Last screenshot update guys, i gotta goto work. I think these screenshots are hot. Might have a beta release tonight.
I really like it. Plus, you'll have the distinction of being the first one to release a theme for the Desire ROM ever. (Well, technically there've been mods here and there--like NexVision's in the other thread--but never anything put together concretely.)
not entirely Manup did NexDesire but released it as a rom. I would release it as a rom but im not fully knowledgeable with cookin up roms just yet but im learning. My plan is to port the x10 rom over to the nexus. But im having trouble finding a dump.
Is this going to be for all Desire ROMs or just Manup's, cause his is kinda old.. and I really don't want to downgrade for beauty.
It's for modcacos desire time, when manup does his desire Rom ill see if he wants me to port it for his.
The Experion theme was always one of my fav looking, so glad you bringing it to the Desire rom, always nice to try another color theme. Id say def release a beta tonight cause I want it!!! Keep up the good work.
Yes, that looks amazing! The old 'rosie' look feels a bit tired some after a while (though always a nice refresh from the more 'dull' 1.x android), and having some transparencies and some new colors would make an better 'refresh'!
Thanks for doing this, it looks fantastic so far! Keep it up, well hope you do .
(oh and dont worry about the other morons out there, just remember you are you and you get rep for YOU. so if you help and take initiative (you did), you will be noticed for that )

I'm going to go ahead and call this dead...I can't find anyone willing to work on this, and those I did find are out of contact, or cannot work on the theme...so yea, I'm going to reach out to some people, but the future of this theme isn't looking good...sorry guys...anyone who wants to pick up this theme let me know via gtalk ([email protected]) or email (same email)

latest updated version coming soon (Statusbar and statusbar icons)
UPDATE 4/30/2010 ADDED MODIFIED CHOMPSMS 3.8 APP AND MODIFIED OFFICIAL TWITTER APP AS ATTACHMENTS
From David1171
This is the first public release and there is still a lot we plan to do with it, so bear with us.
Minimalistic Beta
http://android-theme-minus.googlecode.com/files/Minimalistic_Beta.zip
Alternate Widgets
These are widgets that were made during the testing phases, and are the ones shown in the current screen shots in the OP. The widgets in the above file are about 40% transparent (vs. 50%) for the black ones, and have a slight shadow underneath them. The calendar widget is also only at 25% transparency and has a black border around it.
http://android-theme-minus.googlecode.com/files/Minimalistic-Flat-Widgets.zip
Since we have yet to do the status bar icons (just had other things we were working on first), I recommend that you install the desire notification bar for your ROM from here, so that you can have a decent looking status bar, and a proper working services.jar.
Once the theme gets large enough, or enough is done with, then we will start releasing the bulk of it as flashable updates, and leave morphs to smaller parts of it.

For More Icons to use with Bettercut you may need to resize the icons yourself to 72x72 if you are using an app on the dock as it may cause distortion in its fullsize (no clue if the 72x72 icons from better cut don't distort)
i used the ecqlipse icons on Deviant art...search for those and use bettercut to apply...especially since all of those will be in data/app and thusly not useable by Metamorph anyways.
here are two sets I know off hand...

I'll do my best...I hope me and David can work something out...due to its lack of overall complexity (with most things being a shadeless, transparent black white or grey) it should be relatively easy...if I knew anything about .9pngs and XML etc, I'd prob do it all myself...
I love the look of this! Would very much appreciate if this became reality, good luck!
Seems like it could be a great theme.
I know currently there is a closed beta of a minimalism theme for the Droid, which should be available to the public around the beginning of May.
I'm sure it will take little to no time for someone to port it over to the Nexus when it does become live.

seems like your pretty good with photoshop yourself. why dont you make your own theme?

Yea the coder for the theme is a beast. Xeudoxus has edited so much of the xml's in order to get the theme to where it is now.
Also I made an icon pack beta for that theme last weekend on saturday. Spent about half a a day vectoring icons. I will redo them with lowered opacity on the black so it will look nicer, but this is just a sample:
I can upload them if anyone needs them.
very nice...me and david1171 are working on a version of the mockup i presented here...well it feels like he's doing all the work, I don't really know much on how to theme and whatnot...need help on an accent color to complement the white/grey/black...any suggestions?
If your theme is as thorough as the one on alldroid, you got a person who will theme right away.
Also as a side note, will that theme ever make it to our nexus one, seeing as how its for the motorola droid at the moment

no offense to any themers, but with the exception of a few themers a lot of themes have seemed very chaotic.
Exactly, some are too unorganized. One I seen "minimalistic" in your theme header I was sold, I feel the more subtle a theme, the better. Good luck to the both of you.

You could take the statusbar icons from my theme, seems like it would fit your minimalistic look.

It's still undergoing extensive work, but this is a small update (well actually first update)
looks good so far, me and David are sitll working on the details and minor things, and are attempting to make this a systemwide theme so yea, don't overhype it and PLEASE don't bump often or whatnot...it'll get done, and it'll be marvelous.
It'll prob be realeased as a series of morphs...
icon test
widget test
a lot of work to do here...but I figured I'd update you guys.
going to mirror this in the OP if I can.
Just wanted to chime in and say that the status bar is going to be like the widgets as it is in the mock up in the OP, so that people wouldn't think the desire bar is part of it, that part of the screen shots are from me running my full theme while testing the small things already done, and from the previous things AbsoluteDesignz was/is running.
If people would like a morph of the widgets, I see no reason we can't put that out.
The battery icon in the screen shots is the current battery icon in its current phase though it may change.

Yuck. Let's keep iPhone icons off of our Android phones. I don't care what you do to your phone but let's at least not post them in an Android forum.
PS: I was an iPhone user for a year and I think it's poor taste to mix and match images from two very different operating systems. Oiiii vey

This is the issue with forums, opinions. You have every right to your opinion, but to tell someone not to post something is wrong. His opinion is, it's nice looking vs. your opinion, it's poor taste to mix match and to post iPhone items in a Android community.
This isn't just a Android community, last time I checked it wasn't. It is a community were we help one another accomplish something. If it is something someone wanted or find useful, then it helped. If it doesn't please you, move on.
Thank you for the icons, will be using them shortly and post screen shots.

I agree with the mixing and matching part to an extent. Icon wise...most apps for android suck and look cheesy or just cut/pasted. Since we share some of the same apps with the iphone i don't see why we cant use the square icons as they sit better next to each other anyway.
I wish the devs of apps would follow google's icon guideline but sadly most don't.
I meant no disrespect by posting these, I just think they look nice no matter the OS. Im using Fresh Rom With these icons.

After using an iPhone for years its very interesting how the two different power user crowds differ. Most people on android are interested in custom ROMs, power efficiency, overclocking, performance, etc; the crowd at MacThemes is all about theming and beautiful designs.
I'm grateful for the community we have here, but I do at times miss the designers in the iPhone community. For that reason, I think it is perfectly fine to use their icons (with credit, of course). I just wish we had a powerful theming application like winterboard... (okay, fine, we have metamorph...)

I ORDERED MY NEW PHONE!
For those that don't know, this theme has been delayed for weeks because I am a clumsy bastard and shattered the screen on my phone.
I punched my bank account in the face and my new phone is coming on Thursday (8/5/10)
________________________________
This started off as just the clocks....but it has become very popular and people are asking lots of questions about other parts of the featured screen shot so I am going to release the FULL theme here.
It will most likely be a 5 step process that I will guide you through. A lot of this work is modified versions of other peoples mods which are in themselves modified versions of HTC or Microsoft software.
I have the knowledge to make my own cabs and make everything an easy install, but I do not want to steal anybodys work and pass it off as my own, so I may simply post links to the mods needed, then post my graphics that will make this theme.
So this weekend, when I update this page with a HOW TO on how to install this theme, you will have to do this...
1.) You will install the proper rom
2.)You will then install a few cab files
3.)You will then copy some graphics files to your phone and install a few more cab files
and you're done.
My skills lie in USER EXPERIENCE DESIGN (aka UX design). I know a bit of coding for Windows Mobile 6.5.x and I know a bit of Manila coding. But I am an expert at every single Adobe Program and have a knack for making graphics go well with any style UI.

WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS THEME?
The temporary name I came up with is "Urban Vandal"
For anybody who knows who the graffiti artist "Banksy" is...I am a huge fan. I wasn't really thinking of Banksy's work when I made this theme, but when I tried to think of a name, I thought of Banksy.
Urban Vandal seems to fit BUT...
I want you guys to try to come up with a name
Either post a name in this thread or PM me with a name you think fits and I will probably pick one of your names instead of "Urban Vandal"...it's just something I thought of very quickly.

Yes I have very little time on my hands I work in advertising and design in Boston. I just got out of school and I'm currently trying to land a job so as soon as I can I'll get this up. Even though I could post the files its not as perfect as it looks. The minute and hour hands need to be updated to the actual ones the watch has and theres no second hand. Plus when you swipe it looks kind of jagged as do the edges around the clock right now. Anyway, despite how much I like these I want it to be up to par for mass consumption
Just so you know its not that I dont WANT to put them up right now its just that I am extremely busy.

No probs Jquill. I fully understand. Hopefully you'll find time soon.
Also, any chance you could send my your bottom softkey bar please (the two green boxes).
Many thanks.

Softkey bar in THAT theme is set to just the plain white bottom. The two green boxes come from a modified WM6.5.x theme, coupled with a cab that eliminates the "ok" and "start" softkeys leaving just the two softkeys. Looking to post everything soon. This is my fav look for windows...no need for a start menu softkey on the HD2.
I may change the title of the thread once I release the clocks because I already have a diff post as you know for the wallpapers. This post will probably contain the eco drive digital clock, custom analog clock (with reflecive numbers and black border), custom 6.5.x theme, font changing utility, and font color change instructions.
So I have a very very very very....very very very very....very very very very....very very very very....sad update.
Long story short...I shattered the screen on my phone over the weekend.
Gotta order a new one for $327.99 directly through T-mobile. T-Mobile cut me a good deal because I didn't have insurance so they let me do an early upgrade. Still expensive but better than paying full price.
This is the part where I put a sad face and wait for my next paycheck...
Very sad news
I take it, it wasn't possible to get a factory repair?

T-Mobile USA does not offer any sort of factory repairs...because the factories for HTC are not in the United States. In the states we mainly get out phones covered through a company called "Assurion". Unfortunately, T-Mobile stipulates that you MUST add the insurance feature onto your plan for $7 a month within two weeks of buying your phone. I didn't get it right off the bat and now I'm kicking myself in the TEETH.
So T-Mobile USA does not offer any sort of factory repair program
I did not have insurance on my phone (If I did it would have been $100 for a new HD2)
But T-Mobile still agreed to give me the phone for half the unactivated price, which in my book, is a good move on their part.
here can i get this slider

God I love broken english...
EVERYTHING in this theme will be available for download (both original files and cabs for everything / pieces of the theme) the moment I get my new phone. My phone is broken, I live in the U.S., and I don't have insurance...I am ****ed.
can make a binary clock for the HD2?
I think it's the only thing missing from his thread .... fantastic job.
Thanks
so sad. my friend.
I MUST say..cheer up man.!.
I like your customised chucky rom.
hopely everything gonna be alright.
So...
I am getting a new HD2 this week so I can continue working on my themes!
Finally...T-Mobile let me split up the cost of the phone over my next 4 bills, so I don't have to pay $400 all at once for a new HD2.
Cost of phone + express shipping + taxes = $400
Kind of expensive but it's a brand new HD2 not refurbished and it's equal with the best price I've found online for a brand new in box hd2 with no contract. I'm happy with it.
UPDATES COMING THIS WEEKEND
updated the entire thread...
Changed the title, and updated everyone on progress...see post 1.

[Theme] MDM's Retro Overhaul for Warm RLS 5 - Better Nate than Lever!!!

So for some time I've been working on a theme for Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo. By some time I mean "since the middle of January". I'm a bit late to the show, but I've finally managed to cram enough time into it to get things where I'm fairly happy with them.
The whole theme is inspired by the idea of turning the buttons in the drop-down notifier panel into toggle switches. From there I went with a whole late-70s retro hi-fi and electronics theme.
Features:
Tumbler-style battery meter, complete with rolling animations for every percentile!
Old Sony-style LCD screens for information panels
Clear-plastic back-lit buttons
Toggles!!!!
Copious amounts of faux-leather plastic surfaces!
Here's a few screenshots:

ADDITIONALLY:
HERE is the link to ALL of my graphics files, xml files, etc. It's over 50MB of stuff that any developer is welcome to use for building themes, etc. Please be my guest!
Included are all the various graphic files used in this theme, .xml files for the rolling tumbler battery meter, a bucket-load of .xcf files for GiMP which contain the various layers and options for most of the graphics I've built, and the raw graphics I used to assemble what I've built.
FINALLY:
If any Dev looks through this stuff and figures out how to alter the CHARGING code for the rolling tumbler battery to make the throbber AFTER the tumble-animation work, please let me know as I'd really like to incorporate it in an update.
At this point I'm going to try to put together a theme with all this for Synergy, but it may take some time - so I definitely encourage anyone who is interested to take what you like and have a go at it.
Enjoy!
Wow man this is fantastic work and totally original!

looks good wish we had the toggle bar for synergy and not the recent apps
I was waiting for someone to add to the Warm. I love how crisp and clean it looks.

Wow man. Great work! I am loving it! Wish I could use it.

Even though I use the evo 3d as my daily driver I kept the 4g as a backup/testing device. This rom rocks! Very polished, thanks.

Word. Hopefully someone wilm code it up?

Yeah, I'm with everyone else. That's one of the most original themes I've ever seen.
Thanks! If there's demand for it, I could also push out variants with the classic green LCD display, and the more modern indiglo look. I realize not everyone is a fan of orange, I was just trying to really go proper retro.

I'm slowly grinding my way towards a release to go with Synergy ROM. Hopefully not too long to bring it into existence. When I do, I'll post a new thread for it.
