[Theme] MDM's Retro Overhaul for Warm RLS 5 - Better Nate than Lever!!! - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

So for some time I've been working on a theme for Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo. By some time I mean "since the middle of January". I'm a bit late to the show, but I've finally managed to cram enough time into it to get things where I'm fairly happy with them.
The whole theme is inspired by the idea of turning the buttons in the drop-down notifier panel into toggle switches. From there I went with a whole late-70s retro hi-fi and electronics theme.
Features:
Tumbler-style battery meter, complete with rolling animations for every percentile!
Old Sony-style LCD screens for information panels
Clear-plastic back-lit buttons
Toggles!!!!
Copious amounts of faux-leather plastic surfaces!
Here's a few screenshots:

ADDITIONALLY:
HERE is the link to ALL of my graphics files, xml files, etc. It's over 50MB of stuff that any developer is welcome to use for building themes, etc. Please be my guest!
Included are all the various graphic files used in this theme, .xml files for the rolling tumbler battery meter, a bucket-load of .xcf files for GiMP which contain the various layers and options for most of the graphics I've built, and the raw graphics I used to assemble what I've built.
FINALLY:
If any Dev looks through this stuff and figures out how to alter the CHARGING code for the rolling tumbler battery to make the throbber AFTER the tumble-animation work, please let me know as I'd really like to incorporate it in an update.
At this point I'm going to try to put together a theme with all this for Synergy, but it may take some time - so I definitely encourage anyone who is interested to take what you like and have a go at it.
Enjoy!

Wow man this is fantastic work and totally original!

I was waiting for someone to add to the Warm. I love how crisp and clean it looks.

Even though I use the evo 3d as my daily driver I kept the 4g as a backup/testing device. This rom rocks! Very polished, thanks.

Yeah, I'm with everyone else. That's one of the most original themes I've ever seen.

Thanks! If there's demand for it, I could also push out variants with the classic green LCD display, and the more modern indiglo look. I realize not everyone is a fan of orange, I was just trying to really go proper retro.

I'm slowly grinding my way towards a release to go with Synergy ROM. Hopefully not too long to bring it into existence. When I do, I'll post a new thread for it.

[Sneak Peek] Who wants some Rotary goodness? Returning soon to a Sense ROM near you.

After more bootloops than I care to share, I couldn't believe it when this one (see below) loaded up, and it didn't bootloop, a few minutes ago!
FWIW, I am running Fresh ROM (HTC Sense).
EDIT: For those just joining the conversation, this project has become much bigger than just rotary lock below. See Here for more information regarding additional features coming with this pending release.

Hmm, I was just wondering, any way you could make one similar, but with the look of Myn's HTC sense lockscreen? The black with white text and green HTC EVO on the sides, etc... somehow just so it matches Myn's RLS 5 theme... any way to make one similar to that? I'd try my hand at it, but have no photoshop skills whatsoevar LOL

Once I release, themers can do with it whatever the heck they want. That's up to them. I focus on the code .
Lol, I've literally had this up and running on my phone for 30 minutes, after days of work, and I'm already getting requests for mods

Thanks. Still tinkering with some things.
This ended up being a "hybrid" of my original port from the Hero back in the day, with roots from the original motorola droid stock ROM, merged with elements from the CM ROM release.
Still working on a few things. Sucks though, as it has required edits to multiple framework files once again...
absolutely outstanding
Check out the second pic I just added to the OP. Notice I mentioned "hybrid" above? I was able to pull in the music controls from CM for the bottom of the lockscreen as well.
You are brilliant, JS.
We all appreciate your works, and I do believe that nearly all of us use them even if we don't know it.
Thanks for making this a better phone, again.

Ha, I think you're right.
The dilemma is, when releasing, is the "base" starting from the Power Control Widgets framework, stock, both? With music controls, without. Option to go back and forth between slider and rotary, etc.
Yikes.
Looks great I will be keeping an eye on this really like your work.

This has been on my todo list ever since getting the EVO back in October. The darn Power Control Widgets have been taking 100% of my "free" time.
I wanted to step away from that for a bit and work on something else.
It's more fun to get something new going, than it is to keep working on tweaks for the same thing (that gets boring).
Will this cause the alarm clock issue?
I would love to have this it looks awesome.

[Theme] 4/26/11 CLeDInc's Slate Matte Green Theme v1.1 for SkyRaider 4.0

I am a Junior in High School and I made the Tron Theme. I wanted venture away from something so specific to one group so I decided to make a clean, simple theme. It's still green but it's a slate type green and I think a got rid of all the shiny elements of the original sense to make it look more professional in my opinion. Many parts are now based Gingerbread (Check Marks, Status Bar Icons, etc.) but themed in the slate green look.
Link to my Slate Red Theme: Slate Red XDA Thread
For the most part I themed everything myself but some status bar icons are from MIUI.
I would also like to dedicate this theme to those suffering Japan. I have close friends and family over there that are doing fine but there are many that are suffering. If you are planning on buying something from Amazon, please buy through my school club's Amazon link so that we can use the commission to donate to Japan. Please find it in your heart to take one extra step if buying something through Amazon to help those that have lost everything.

Also, theme looks great. Humble suggestion though, maybe add a few more green accents throughout. Nothing heavy, just little accents. Perhaps around the flip clock or something? Theme rocks either way.

how do you go about skinning a new theme? i'd like to give it a try myself, i like your theme but I was wanting a lot more black with shades of gray through it(still with the light green accents)

EDIT:just did like 2 minutes of researching and found out its the framework-res, com.htc.resources and other various system/app apk's. Seems like a lot of work so i think ima pull apart one of the previous SR3.5 inverted themes and recolor it/keep some icons
Well I'm gona try getting as close to this with an inverted theme as possible
[saving image space for 8 posts]
i'll make a thread if it gets serious
No problem take your time. I've taken AP test before...besides I got my own term papers I'm suppose to be doing
Ok I got some free time from finishing HW early and tried to fix the readability of the friendstream widget for about 45 minutes. I cannot find the xml to change the text color so you guys might have to wait awhile longer; I'm going to ask ihtfp69 for some guidance. I did however make the readability for the bookmark widget and the agenda widget a lot better. New link up.
Some one should make this a CM7 theme. its honestly one of the best looking roms i have ever seen hands down. matte colored themes are just amazing and this one does it the best

[Theme] SteamPunkish theme, initial release. Feedback Requested

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I have spent many a sleepless night working on this and it is a few boredom filled days away from initial release, but far from completion. I am looking for feedback! If you don't like something, tell me and I'll look into it.
This started out being a Steampunk theme, and I think keeps the basics of it, but is not full out Steampunk.
It will be for most roms using the VillainTheme system, not theme chooser. There will not be a battery % displayed in the status bar, just the images as normal.
BEFORE YOU POST, CHECK THE SECOND POST FOR THINGS I'M CURRENTLY TRYING TO FIX / EDIT.
Pay no attention to the LauncherPro dock and icons at the bottom and let us begin...

Things I'm trying to fixImage #1
Make the on / off icons bigger. Also some of the on / off buttons are not made yet, I forgot about those
Image #3
The USB stick is colored when you mount your SD card.
Image #4
Same as #1, maybe make the background more see through.
Image #5
Add a background image to the dialer. Probably leather.
Working with Mister Hat to make another dialer.
Image #6
Align icons
Image #7
Align icons
Image 8
This image is to show you the change to the desk clock, I don't like the time bars.
Misc
Also changed a couple of icons. What do you guys think; change them automatically or let you change them using adw or whatever?
Code:
8/23/11 Uploaded initial test release.
Suggestions so far:
Rounded corners on tabs.
Get rid of antique phone icons.
The maindock area reminds me of starcraft
Antique phones
I don't dig the antique phone icons, especially the grey one used in image #5 for the phone tab / dialer.
Also, I think you should make rounded corner tabs instead of black/white gradient.
Looking forward to it.
Yeah I agree, I loved the colorized theme.. this one would be something I'd rock in my late 60's.

It's greyed out because that tab is selected. Also this pic was taken early, it's not b&w gradient, it's all tan. I'll add new photos in the morning.
Also I'll look into the rounded corners. Don't know how to do that yet....

Sweet man! Right now I can't think of anything, but if you are inspired to make anything, standard icons (I don't plan on theming app icons), or whatever. Let me know and I'll throw them in.
Keep up the good work...
I"m also looking into what files draw that button bar at the top of the contacts dialer. I couldn't find it by just looking at the .9.pngs, so next I"ll dig through the xml and find what drawables in calls to make that.
I'm getting the feeling that it may be in framework-res, though...if I find it, I'll share with ya.
It is in framework-res, I can't remember the names off the top of my head, something tab selected and unselected. Thanks man.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
It looks like it's the tab_focused .9's in framework...if you change the shape of that, you'd have to know what else uses that drawable.
However, there is tab_pressed_bottom and such, in Contacts that will dictate a colored bar underneath your tabs when one is pressed.
I didnt' have much success changing the shape of the tabs...I mean, I can change the shape of them, but it just didn't look as good as I had hoped.
So what I did instead on mine, was made the tabs transparent...and then layered up the icons how I wanted them to look. That way, I can make the tab look any way I want.
Here's an example. I am toying around with the idea of making a rounded corner red border to each tab, something like what I attached.
I didn't mean to hijack your thread, I'm just hoping to be nearly as helpful to you as you were to me in the past.
It'd be pretty sweet to use this in the dialer.

[THEME] m00nman's status bar icons for WeaponX 3.0R1

For those of you that like the colored status bar and notification icons that m00nman posted, you will be able to find them here from now on, since it seems he doesn't have the time or desire to keep them up to date. I plan on continuing to update these as weaponx also updates. I am by no means a developer or modder; this is my first "project" of this type and m00nman did most of the work so thanks to him. This is mostly for my own amusement and learning. If you have any problems or suggestions let me know and I'll do my best to address them.
Anyways, here is a flashable ZIP that will install the aforementioned icon pack to your weapon x 3.0 r1 ROM.
Thanks to jcbofkc for the zip, I didn't know how to make one until he provided it.
Let me know if you like it, a simple thanks will do!
Will give it a try. Thanks.
Love it! Thanks!!

I am sure frescoraja or I could later today, but you can do it yourself using UOT kitchen. It is very easy to use. I am a complete novice when it comes to this stuff, but I was able to figure it out. You can change the battery to whatever look you prefer and keep everything else the same including the kick ass toggles. Under the battery option there is one that is green the majority of the time until it get low and tuns red.

I posted the same one from my post in the other thread. I thought that mine included the colored notification icons that yours has (minus the big alarm clock icon, and maybe a couple of others).. But now that I won't be using the g2x, I am going to change the OP to include your icons.
what i do is really simple, first I use 7zip or winrar to extract the apks from the zip files. Then I use apk manager to "unzip" the apk's and then just replace the png files in the weaponX rom apk with the corresponding png files from m00nman's apks. Then you "zip" it back up in apk manager (leave the apk unsigned because they are system apps), and then i just paste the new apks over the old apks in your zip archive.
I just got an HTC sensation as a warranty exchange for my g2x, so I probably won't be updating these any more. I think you're more than capable, jcbofkc but let me know if you have any questions.
In case any one is interested, in many ways i regret getting the sensation (qHD display looks like ****E compared to g2x's lcd, and the thing lags like crazy compared to the snappy g2x), but i know i can always sell it and buy another g2x with cash left over. The main benefit to the sensation is the amount of roms to choose from, and the HTC amaze's camera app has been ported to the sensation. If LG announces plans to update the g2x to Ice cream sandwich, I'll be back in a heartbeat.
Thanks frescoraja, I will keep the thread updated. Might even try a couple of other versions for those that want to keep their rom "as is" plus a little nicer status bar. I will see you again after the ICS update.

Tame Blue R3V Theme & 8+ Hint of Color Toggles (03/13/2012)

Full theme in post #2
Alright, first off, this is a work in progress to give some options for a solid rom. These are only the toggles right now and should actually work with any Rom right now that has the 14 toggles (R3V, Vagabond, Zeus)
I think Nun, Ex, and Dman gave us a great base to theme off of with the white and grey in R3velation. I really prefer it all be neutral but with only a touch of color where I choose (whether it is icons or the zips I am providing). I do not nearly have the talent those guys do, but thought I would share some of the minor modding I am learning along the way.
For the record, I will put up a screenshot of what I have done (which is little at this point, but I already said why) and I use the following elements to make a few other changes:
Go Launcher Ex
Icons are Crystal HD which can be found Here so you can give proper credit
For the Calendar I use Calwidget and set the color (free on the market)
For the clock I use Fancy Widgets (free on the market)
As you can see I have run it on my phone with out issue, but cannot be responsible for errors, but of course I will try and help.
Take a look, see if there is anything you like, and flash away.

Hint of Blue (now this is TOTALLY Ex for making the blue and mongo41 for creation of the toggles, so thank them for the blue Mongo toggles he made, I like them with the white)
Hint of Green
Hint of Orange
Hint of Pink
Hint of Purple
Hint of Yellow
Hint of ICS
Here is also a Link for some really good transparent widgets
So far I would like to give thanks to the following people who have helped, created, modified or allowed me to use somethingof theirs to put this together:
Nunhugger, Experiment, Dman, Qkster, Mongo41, Lancelaut, Master&Slave, King murray, FiveOhFox and growing...
This was made and tested for R3velation, so if you use it on anything else good luck.
A Hintish More.....
A little more fully themed Zips for ya for those that want more color. I start off by giving you:
TAME BLUE
If it gets stuck on the bootanimation, simply hold down the power to boot a second time and all should be good. Been testing a few days and all is well. Hope you enjoy.

Yes. That is what I have been doing, right over v2. Since I keeping this at a minimum, it should be fibe even if they update. I know you can use this on Zeus as well as I have flashed it there too.
I will be adding other colors too so keep checking in. Also let me know if you think other items might be nice. Like I want to keep it minimal, but maybe the notification bar, only the clock and data signal.
Just trying thinkof just slight colors, coause I like adding color through other elements, and the white is easy to read for the rest. I really like what Nun and the crew did with this.
Anyways, let me know.

Yes, I already did it on Zeus. Did not want to say that in the OP as I may delve into more system stuff and did not want to mess any one up.
Right now this will work with any 14 toggle I believe as I am altering the lidroid.
Dude i was looking for something like this. Thx buddy! Flashed over r3v 2 and it looks nice

No problem. I am going to try and do a few more. I have already switched my color around a few times with these since it is so easy.

Thank you for the great rom and base. You did the hard part. I hope the few things I do helps people to appreciate it that much more.

Updated the OP with orange
Two more added, pink and purple.
As you can see I am also posting a few colors of the mongo toggles (but not pics since you know what they look like), let me know if you guys want anything. I might color a few more elements in the systemUI like some menus and the notification bar items like the battery wifi etc. Let me know what you think.
Yellow added to op.
Hey, pp. It's looking good! You got this down to an assembly line.
Yeah for these small mods I can pump them out, it will take a bit more when I strart modding other stuff. At least it gives people options.
If you could, you should try and implement the lidroid to vagabond. It is a nice option. People could then flash some of this stuff as well.
For the future I am trying to make things that people could flash across roms for choices to spice it up.
