Mms pic quality
I know exactly what you mean about the pictures looking crappy, when sent to another phone. But if you don't use the stock message app, and use something G0-Sms App. It allows you to send full resolution pictures. But there's plenty of apps out there that will solve your problem. That's just the one I choose. Hope this helps your problem

see that UP arrow on your keyboard? keep pushing it until the letters get smaller. it functions as a shift/caps lock key.....

This problem plagues tons of android 2.2.x devices...captivate and atrix included. They located the problem and patched it in CM7 for SGS. When we get it ported, the problem will go away.

Does anyone have problems receiving MMS pictures from iPhone users?? I tend to get a long message saying "one or more of the message components have been deleted by MMS Adaptation. Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your terminal."
I used to get a similar message on the Atrix. Why the hell does this happen??
Not an Android issue, it's AT&T wanting to give you a "multimedia experience" which annoys the hell out of me. Once the ROMs come out, it'll be gone. It was the same with the HTC Aria, Samsung Captivate, and HTC Inspire 4G... With my last phone, Inspire 4G, any rom applied broke the play-button thing, so photos just showed up like on normal phones.
Why must AT&T try to get their hands all over everything? It's so annoying.
First thing I did when I got my phone was delete the stock samsung mms app and replace it with the stock aosp mms app
I use SUFBS but root explorer does the same....

Hi every1. Below are screenshots from my s2 and iPhone 4.
How can I get my emails to show up just like on the iPhone.
I hate that I have to scroll on my bigger screen when all email look fine to me at 100% even on 3.5" screen.
I'm using k9 but I would have no problem switching
Thanks in advance
Luke

NO! It drives me NUTS. But I have yet to find a way to fix it. I will be following this thread!
Lol. Yea i wonder y they made.it.like this and theres not one app that has this option.
Hopefully some1 will chime in.
as a former iPhone owner also, my biggest pet peeve with droid is the mail app(s). Nothing on droid comes close to being as usable and complete as the stock mail app on iPhone, especially when it comes to Exchange. I would give anything for somebody to make something as decent as the Apple mail app.
Seems to be a problem with ICS update And the stock Android email app. My stock ROM 2.3.6 email app allows me to zoom all the way out. Obviously you can't read all the content but allows you to see pictures.

my friend texted me a pic and all it says was downloading... its been downloading for a day and still havent recieved it... can anyone help me?
Don't know if it is true in this case, but be sure mobile data is enabled. This was the answer for a friend on another ROM.

be sure that you're not running to many background apps also this will happen from time to time with any phone, just ask your friend to resend it.
if you still get no response make sure your phone plan includes mms

Have you tried the updated APN settings?
That fixed MMS issues for me...

what network is your friend on? I had an issue for a while where I could send mms to someone on t-mobile, but I couldn't receive mms from them. This has since resolved itself. I had tried everything I could find.
Look here this may help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791526
Did you have data enabled before you received the message? If not, maybe that is the case. I remember once i had data off and i recieved an MMS, but it just said downloading, even though i enabled data afterwards. But when recieved it again with data on, all was ok. Tell your friend to resend you the mms and make sure data is on before you receive it.
There was an IP you can use for you MMS proxy under the APN in the recent past that worked to fix this for me. (Can't find it right now)
I'm currently using the APN that Ryo linked to above... no issues.
This was pretty common with the initial JB builds... newer release would probably cure it too...

I think the IP was in the same thread as the other APN settings... Unless it's a different one.
Yeah, it seems the ICS and JB builds didn't have proper APN for ATT?
That, or ATT just recently updated, and developers hadn't incorporated the new one into Roms?
Who knows... At least this seems to work. (And at least TiBu saves these settings for me so I don't have to keep looking up the thread after every flash. XD)
I wonder if that fixed OP's problem?
Hey guys,
I have a problem that has always been on my phone throughout all CM10 ROMs that I have had. Whenever I would take a screenshot and would want to send it via MMS, it would turn really blurry when it is sent. But I can access it in the gallery app and it is not blurry at all. I think it gets compressed as it is sending, I am not sure.
Anyone else have this problem and/or knows how to fix it?
Thanks

Nah man. No one replied and then I got sad and then I forgot about it lol . I just email the pictures now if they are important. Unfortunately I have not found anymore info on this besides them being compressed while being sent.

Are you using a third party messenger I'm using go sms. I figured it out. You just have to go into settings and mess with the size that it sends.

For some reason every time I get a picture through text from someone it always shows up extremely small to the point you can't even see it. It only started recently and I have no idea why it is doing it. I am rooted but it was doing this way before that. Any suggestions? I've checked the settings for MMS and nothing appears out of the ordinary.

You using a custom rom, or are you running stock rooted?
I have the same issue on CleanROM 5.1 and wasn't sure if it was just this rom or if something else was up.
I'm running cleanrom. It was the first rom I loaded after root. No problems. I swear it is the phone itself...because it did this before root. And after root it worked for a few days I was excited then BAM! Back to microscopic pictures.

i remember reading iin a few other threads around here that its carrier restrictions and is limited to how big a picture can be send through mms and gets compressed, PNG files seem to get compressed alot hence reduces the file size and quality dramatically and causes the tiiny pics.
for me on att ive only noticed this on PNG files everything else goes through fine. running custom roms/stock
Hmm. Yes I just realized one worked from my buddy s3. But it seems to screw up the ones sent from my friends iPhone...talking compressed down to 1kb lol. Literally.

i think that is an issue with the mms compression on the iphone and how our phones uncompress the images. make sure that you have you mms size limit maxed out. and something else you might try is a 3rd party sms app.
Yea I have the option set to max...I figured it was something to do with iPhone. Weird it just started happening. I will try another app but those usually end in people getting multiple text and whatnot. I always use go SMS but people would keep saying "you've sent me the same text twice" ugh.
