Hi every1. Below are screenshots from my s2 and iPhone 4.
How can I get my emails to show up just like on the iPhone.
I hate that I have to scroll on my bigger screen when all email look fine to me at 100% even on 3.5" screen.
I'm using k9 but I would have no problem switching
Thanks in advance
Luke

NO! It drives me NUTS. But I have yet to find a way to fix it. I will be following this thread!
Lol. Yea i wonder y they made.it.like this and theres not one app that has this option.
Hopefully some1 will chime in.
as a former iPhone owner also, my biggest pet peeve with droid is the mail app(s). Nothing on droid comes close to being as usable and complete as the stock mail app on iPhone, especially when it comes to Exchange. I would give anything for somebody to make something as decent as the Apple mail app.
Seems to be a problem with ICS update And the stock Android email app. My stock ROM 2.3.6 email app allows me to zoom all the way out. Obviously you can't read all the content but allows you to see pictures.

Out now in the market, but has major issues right off the bat, notably no sound or notification settings. Sort of ridiculous to launch without those!

I don't see it in the market (searching the web version anyway)
Do you have a link?

Where is it, Could you supply a market link please?
Yeah it needs some work I think. I set up a new task under tasker to lower the media volume to 1 when I'm in the game and then restore it back to 4 when I exit.
To find it search under words with friends zynga
Notifications do work though.
Here this the market link for anyone that needs it

Opps wrong link! Sorry! Should be the right one know!

Mine has sound and notifications... Try turning up your volume while in the main menu.
I get notification bar updates pretty consistently. On CM7 nightlies on my G2.

anyone else having an issue where it isn't seeing all of your contacts? it is bringing them all up except like 4-5, and of course those are the people I want to play against.
I HATE the full screen pop up ads.
I hope they release a pay version soon.
Also...I'm getting a lot of fc's and it lags and delays when its changing turns.
Yes...buggy like crazy. I expected much more from Zynga. Especially since they have great work on the i-devices.

I'm guessing that it only does your e-mail contacts, because the same thing happened to me and it seemed to coincide with people that I've e-mailed instead of people that I have on my phone.

Agreed - need a non-buggy. Ad-free paid version pronto. I still can't believe there are no options for sound.

That's what I thought at first too but it sees some facebook only friends as well as some contacts that only have a phone number...pretty strange. The ones it doesn't see are actually some of my must frequent contacts too

This problem plagues tons of android 2.2.x devices...captivate and atrix included. They located the problem and patched it in CM7 for SGS. When we get it ported, the problem will go away.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
Does anyone have problems receiving MMS pictures from iPhone users?? I tend to get a long message saying "one or more of the message components have been deleted by MMS Adaptation. Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your terminal."
I used to get a similar message on the Atrix. Why the hell does this happen??
Not an Android issue, it's AT&T wanting to give you a "multimedia experience" which annoys the hell out of me. Once the ROMs come out, it'll be gone. It was the same with the HTC Aria, Samsung Captivate, and HTC Inspire 4G... With my last phone, Inspire 4G, any rom applied broke the play-button thing, so photos just showed up like on normal phones.
Why must AT&T try to get their hands all over everything? It's so annoying.
First thing I did when I got my phone was delete the stock samsung mms app and replace it with the stock aosp mms app
I use SUFBS but root explorer does the same....

This is a post from Android Central member ccw1134:
"So let's set the table here. Facebook Push Notifications are the golden egg that we're all looking for. Well after reading this you can go obsess about something else...finally (I know I will). I have been beyond frustrated with the chaos that has surrounded this subject. I've spent way too many hours reading and reading then reading some more. I am proud to say that I finally cracked the elusive Facebook Push problem.
I switched from Verizon to Sprint last week (work decision) so I went from a Droid Incredible to a EVO 3D. I was hoping that my Push notification would work when I switched since they never had. To my dismay they did not. My daughter went from a BB Curve to the Motorola XPRT and her FB push notifications worked! She always would always say "Dad you're phone's not so Incredible now, is it?" So when I got my EVO 3D and it didn't work I really became obsessed. After comparing settings on both phones and Facebook settings I found the one anomaly. The list of authorized apps within Facebook (Account dropdown>Account Settings>Applications on the right side of the page) on the computer showed "Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones" on hers but not mine. It's so simple yet outside of the box. The key is BlackBerry permissions! I am willing to bet that everyone who has working notifications on Android came from a BlackBerry. Okay onto the good stuff.
- Find someone with a working BlackBerry. This could be a friend or any store that has activated demo phones. - Using the Facebook app on the BB log into your account and wait for your stuff to start appearing. I did not log into email or anything else, just FB. - After you see your Newsfeed updated with your information simply log out. - Go into your FB settings on your Android phone and check the Notifications box. The refresh interval doesn't matter (it can even be set to Never). - Notifications should start appearing as you get them (Comments, Wall Posts, Pokes, Likes, Messages, etc.)
I did notice a couple of things that I hope get improved in the notification process. Messages and Friend Requests have their own separate icons for notifications just as they always have. Comments, Wall Posts, , Tagging, Pokes and Likes all share the new notification icon that you will start seeing. Because of this if someone pokes you and then you get a comment or whatever, your Poke notification is gone (I'm assuming because the FB App doesn't officially support Poking yet therefore it doesn't know how to handle that notification) and won't know who poked you. Also if you should happen to click on the poke notification doesn't take you anywhere useful, just the list of notifications (for the same reasons listed in the previous sentence). This is a small sacrifice for now. If someone tags you in a post (I assume a picture will be the same way) you also will still get an email notification to whatever email you use. Just an FYI on that.
For the record I am on Sprint using a nonrooted HTC EVO 3D running 2.3.3 and Facebook is version 1.6.3. I do not believe the carrier, phone model, OS or Facebook version matter but I know there are those out there who want to know this type of stuff."
I will be trying this out, seems promising according to replies there!
(mods, I wasn't sure if this would be the right place so feel free to move it.)

Nope. I came from BB to Android and while I had notifications working about a month ago with a FB app update (nothing to do with switching from BB to Android), they no longer work and they didn't work when I initially switched over either.
I just checked my account settings and the Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones is still listed there and still has permissions.
Think it is just a coincidence for you.

I don't know what the difference is but I installed the blacked out Facebook located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200174
And I now receive notifications for the first time. I just installed the apk today so for me it worked and I have no reason to understand, just that I now get notifications. Can someone else confirm with this that they receive notifications?
The only way i got them to work was to create a new fb account.

Sure fire way to fix this:
Deactivate, then immediately reactivate your account. It's kind of a reset button.

Nope, did it last night. Deactivated, then signed back in to reactivate, all from the browser. All your settings, friends, and such stay the same. Now I get every notification.
So you deactivated your whole account from the computer browser? Then reactivated it? No blackberry hoops to jump through.

Wow. So many different fixes it almost seems like coincidence now. I know facebook is free and all and we shouldn't ***** but those guys are getting rich and not really giving anything back. I mean come on? Don't you think somebody that works for them uses android app and can see it sucks?

I have never enjoyed the Facebook app on my Xoom due to many problems with different versions of the application. Unless someone can provide you with a solution that you're satisfied with, may I suggest to you, Friendcaster, easy to use and looks beautiful.

I love my N5 and will never go back to the land of Apple, there I said that and feel better.
Now, with that said, I do have 1 bug that has been bothering me for awhile. The one app that I miss from my years with iPhones is the bitesms app. It was nothing fancy really, just; notified you when a message comes in, lights up the screen, shows the message and allows you to respond. I've been using ledblinker (don't have THAT iPhone now do you) and 8sms + stock message. Now this works pretty good, but its not always stable.
So, what is the technical reason that this is such an issue? I tried most of the other sms apps in the store and nothing worked well for me. It surprises me that no one has created an app that mimics bitesms for android. Does android not allow this type of notification to be controlled programmatically?
I've tried handcent, chomp and go sms. I'm willing to try any suggestions, but I'm really curious as to why this is an issue.
Have you looked at textra? I use it on my note 2. Made by the people that made chomp and bite

Dang, I did try that, forgot to add it to my list. Thanks for the response.
I really would like an explanation as to why there is an issue with SMS apps? I searched and really just saw some info about the way the interfaces are exposed, but nothing really explaining the reasons. I did not want to create another try the top 5 SMS apps, I think I tried em and I'm pretty OK with 8sms but would like an app just a little more like bitesms, but kudos to the dev for 8sms for sure!!
textra all the way, the dark mode does it all pretty much, I've had some issues with the MMS option to wake up data mobile everytime you want to send a pic, but it seems fixed now, I've tried handcent as well but this one is so much better.
Have you tried sliding messaging? I haven't and use hangouts, but I've read a good bit about it and it seems pretty cool
