So last night I was grabbing a beer from the fridge and a pan of leftover lasagna was about to fall out. I saved the lasagna but I lost my grip on my transformer and it hit the kitchen tile floor from about 4 feet. I panicked when it happened, the bezel popped slightly out if place and the screen cut off, fortunately the bezel snapped back into place and the LCD didn't shatter, everything is fine but one thing.
In the center of the screen there are a few white blotches. It resembles backlight bleeding sort of, it only shows up on dark backgrounds. Here's an example I tried to take with my phone.

Does anyone have a remedy? Is this covered under asus warranty?
Try your luck and tell them it was defective from date of purchase.
it did have backlight bleeding, but this was my 3rd try an dit wasn't so bad as the others so I dealt with it. Should be terms for a new display altogether I guess.
The thing that worries me is that I have a pretty bad knick in the corner from it scraping against something a few months ago. Its sanded down however.
I tried calling the number on my warranty card but its was busy. Its the day after Christmas, go figure.
lol SAVE THE LASAGNA! I too have some waiting in the fridge since Christmas.
But seriously, people have complained about white blotches appearing spontaneously so I don't really think it would be that bad to just tell Asus that it appeared on its own. Though they might reject you on the basis of the sanded down edge/corner whatever and claim physical damage. You're welcome to try and convince them it's only superficial. I think you'll get through.

Well after leaving my night stand cluttered for so long I finally decided to clean it up. I have always just had a hat that I would throw my change and keys in and would tuck my ac cord under so that it wouldnt slide away but today I just grew tired of that. You see my wife has this sunglass holder that sits on her vanity with her sunglasses but really just collects dust. So today I decided that I would take ownership and create something to solve my cluttered night stand. I first broke out my drill and took the sunglass holders off only to then countersink the screws that held the wood to the plexi glass. After that I cut a quarter size whole in the top for this jewel to become my new piggy bank(will find myself saving change instead of taking it all the time). After that I added some leg wholes for andy to rest atop the mountain. The next features were towel hooks to hold my phone, ipod touch, keys, and watch. All and all I am pleased with my setup however am going to order some stickers for the wood to make more appealing. So what do you think??

*looks at my clutter*
damn you clutter
Thanks, I just think the best thing is how I have a piggy bank now that is a pain to get into. Figure I'll wait till its full and buy a new device with all that change
Slick work man. 10 points for the android dude

I had 1 tiny fibre under my screen protector and was going to put on a new one.
So I had some fun!

I don't know if you can see it. But I have full strands of hair in there.
EDIT: Oh my, is there some way for me to scale it down for th forum?
you are too free my fren.... =.="
Doesn't look good...
Try an environment with little dust, eg the bathroom after a shower (humidity helps),
Use sellotape to remove fibres, specks of dust from screen or protector,
Make sure the protector is the right way round (yes, there is a top and bottom for the DHD which are subtly different, as I found to my cost - I think your protector is on upside down, looking at the bottom left corner).
I have never has success reapplying protectors (apart from "during" the first application), whatever the manufacturers say. Easier to buy a new one. A lot come in packs of 2 these days
Yeah I know all this.
When I got my mobile the girl at the shop offered to put on my screen protector and I thought why not! Bad choice... She put it on upsidedown...
So I put on my 2nd one. Then the 1 tiny fiber annoyed me so I took it off and put on ANOTHER one.
But this one was super cheap and didn't fit so I got annoyed and scrunched up the protector, chucked it in the bin but then had an idea to pull some hairs out and be stupid and take a picture.
Time to go buy a quality screen protector!
So, I was talking on the phone in bed and this is what has happened to my phone.

I always did this on my HTC Magic (MT3G) and this never happened in the year I had it. After using my phone like I always had, the backlight has come loose, the screen glue connecting the LCD to the glass has come loose, and now my phone looks awful. I am extremely displeased.
Protip: do not ever put your face on your phone if you intend on hands free usage.
i'm pretty much sure they would fix it under warranty

I'm well aware they would, but it's a pain in the ass since I pretty much always need my phone and my MT3G is half broken.
My point was more that this phone has not gone through even 2 months of usage and it is already damaged; what's to say this won't happen again even with a replacement? I use my technology of all sorts very heavily, and I was hoping that an HTC phone would once again get me what I wanted. This has not shown to be the case. Anecdotal evidence, sure, but it has happened to me and it is quite possible that it could happen again.
sad to see that, even with that hugely obscene glob of glue they put in there...
Sucks that you'll be without a device for a few days, but warranty service should take care of it.
If you wanted to use your paid warranty on it you wouldn't be without a phone since you'd get the new one in before you had to ship the old one out, but that does count as a strike against your paid warranty...
Wish I had some words to make it better...
Hello,
I bought the RN6P recently and noticed there were some reports about a backlight bleeding issue like on the Poco F1 on the internet. But I also saw other people mention, that a certain amount of bleeding is normal, since the screen is being lit from the side.
So I took a picture and I want you opinions on this. The 'bleeding' appears on the chin (maybe 1 - 2 mm; you can see it fading away towards the corners of the screen) and on the top (not really visible on the picture) of the phone, is this a normal ammount or should I try to return it?
From the Xiaomi Forums (better pic quality):

Mine:
well usually there are some bleed mostly around notch as you must have read it, but I am not sure if this yellow ting on the down side is real or just present on this photo - however if it is seen in real this yellow-ish like, it is quite not normal, as it is not close to the screen end, but is rather centered .. I would try to return/replace the piece at the reseller, if possible.

That yellowish stuff are just the apps on the screen. I was reffering to the chin, where it's the most obvious. It's not as bad as with the Poco F1, but it still catches my eye time to time.
Hi guys
I am really having some trouble loving my S10e. The phone would be great - if it wasn't for the screen. The glass is simply glued on the front and thus sticks out by 0.75mm. The corners are not rounded but quite sharp. When I put the phone to my ear, the sharp end scratches my ear and it feels uncomfortable. On top of that, with the glass being exposed like that, it obviously lead to it cracking within the first 3 weeks (see

Is this the same for all S10e? I have searched the Internet for any reviews or complaints mentioning this issue, to no avail. I simply can't believe that this is normal (I have never seen a phone with the glass glued on like that).
Cheers,
Will
This sounds like a faulty handset to me. You'll need to see if you can get it replaced under warranty.
Unfortunately as with all Android phones, this will mean sending your current handset off somewhere and waiting up to 2 weeks to have it inspected, repaired or replaced. You'll need to make sure you have a spare handset lying around. This is one of the things I hate about Androids compared to iPhones. Maybe try putting on a case to see if it helps?
If you had an iPhone, you'll have been able to book an appointment and have your iPhone replaced the same day.
Hey Wutang, thanks a lot for your reply! And all along I thought the glass being glued on like that was (a little silly but) normal for the S10e. I have contacted Samsung again, so I guess we will see.
