[Q] Wireless keyboard with Transformer - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I got a wireless keyboard for christmas and I am having trouble setting it up.
it is bluetooth and i have successfully paired and connected them - i tested it on my macbook and it works fine on there so I know it isnt the keyboard.
Do I have to configure the input settings at all? Ive tried looking but cant see anything in the settings.
im using the latest prime rom with the oc kernel.
Ill try and find the link to the keyboard I got and update this post.
Any help is appreciated. Cheers!

I think it should work immediately after pairing up. What your bluetooth dialog says?

Hi, thanks for the reply. How do I view my bluetooth dialog?

Well, I was talking about the settings page of bluetooth devices:
- Settings / Networks / Bluetooth settings
There is a list of devices and it should say "connected" under your keyboard.

yes it does say connected. any other ideas?

[Q] Bluetooth with Droid 2 paired but not connected

I am trying to pair my Droid 2 with my Gtab to use as a GPS. When pairing via bluetooth, everything goes fine but once the pairing is successful there is no connection, only paired but not connected. Rebooting does not help and when I long press on either device there is no option to connect, only unpair. I am running VEGAn beta 3 on the Gtab. Anyone know of a solution??
please see
I had the same issue (althoug it was with a HTC). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=874401 <--hope this helps
Thats normal. Whether I pair my tab with my phone or my bluetooth GPS device, the bluetooth settings shows Paired but not connected. I go into my "Bluetooth GPS" app to initiate the connection. When using my phone "ShareGPS" has to be setup and running.
Thanks for the quick reply guys....I'll try it out on the way home tonight to see if all is indeed working as it should.

Apple bluetooth keyboard

I can't seem to find a definite answer to this: Has anyone had an Apple bluetooth keyboard work with their g tablet? There's a laptop like case for the ipad that has a bluetooth keyboard that I would like to modify for the g tablet, but I'm not sure if the bluetooth keyboard that comes with it would work.
Thanks
I tried my friends ipad keyboard case but couldn't get it to connect to the g tab. Wish I knew how

Same here. I have an iPad (company issued) with the keyboard but I can't make it pair with the gTab. It sees the keyboard and asks for a code and I've tried 0000 and the classic 1234 and neither seems to allow a connection.
A while back when I was looking for something similar and found this.

At the time the seller claimed it would work on any bluetooth enabled device including Android devices even though he doesn't list it in his description.

I read that you can pick any code you want, then type it on the keyboard and hit "enter".

I tried that just to check but no dice. In order for me to type it on the keyboard it needs to be paired with the device. It doesn't pair so that didn't work. It was worth a shot though.
I tried using a seperate device and that didnt work either. Maybe some hack????
I tried typing on keyboard too and that didnt work... thought about it but no go.

I enter "0000" and it paired, but it shows up as paired, but not connected.
I tried..same result. Wouldn't pair
Hi all,
Sorry your having problems, what you need to do is get blueinput
its on the apps store, it works kind of.
Its been a few weeks since i set it up and used it,
From what I remember you have to install the apk into the system apk section on your tablet then just load the app and select the blueinput keyboard then it works.
it is limited and I lost connection a lot but as far as I could see it was the only way to get it to work.
Yes i used this with the mac keyboard, there is a topic on it somewhere in the g tab forums, and I believe it was a tutorial how to get it fully working.
If you guys cant find it I will do some digging or reinstall it and tell you all how to do it.
Yeah blueinput is what others are using, with that said most bluetooth things require a different program to get connected which sucks. They should have at least gotten bluetooth mouse and keyboard working in the Android OS by now...
actualy i found the post where all of the info is at.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=869747&page=4
also gunsjoe there seems to be a way to do this without blueinput.

I have not tryed prscott1's method my self but i think otheres have said it works.

[Q] Atrix Keyboard with Charge

Thinking the Droid Charge supports the HID bluetooth profile, I purchased the Atrix keyboard; however, I cannot seem to pair it. I put the keyboard in pairing mode and then scan for Bluetooth devices. On the Charge I select the "Motorola Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard" from the menu and am given a message "Enter xxxxxx to pair with ...". This message disappears in less than a second and I'm given the error message "Unable to establish communication with ...". I never have the chance to enter the code on the keyboard ...
Any thoughts? Thanks for your help.
I believe I read somewhere that this was supposed to support the HID profile out of the box I'm not 100% sure though. You could try one of the HID drivers from the marketplace I think one is called blueinput or something similar. Post back if you get it working cause I would really like to have a wireless mini keyboard for this phone as well.

i'm not sure if this is helpful, but I paired a bluetooth mouse with my Charge, using no special drivers. I would like to know if a bluetooth keyboard would work with it though.

If you can get a mouse to work without having any special drivers/apps to support it then it at least means that the phone does support HID protocols which would mean that generic bluetooth keyboards should work. If the keyboard requires some sort of special driver that is installed after pairing it most likely won't work, though.

I should clarify and update this - the device I have is a bluetooth presentation remote/mouse. It can switch between mouse mode and presenter mode. It works for a few minutes, but then loses connection. It works fine with a computer, so I don't think there's a problem with the remote.
You can connect the Charge to BT keyboard and don't have to root..
Thanks to another member TylerMF you CAN probably pair the Atrix (also for Xoom) keyboard.
See his thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28133531#post28133531
He connected his BT keyboard to an Evo successfully.
I have a Samsung CHARGE and I had the same struggle, but followed his instructions and am now connected to both the Atrix/Xoom keyboard and a Logitech bluetooth mouse.
Very nice!

Tip: How to pair Logitech Tablet Keyboard with Gtablet (cyanogenmod 7)

Hey everyone I wanted to share how I got the "Logitiech Tablet Keyboard" (model #: 920-003390) to pair with my G-Tablet.
My G-Tablet is running CyanogenMod 7.0.3-Harmony (uses Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread).
On the tablet:
Turn on bluetooth:
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Bluetooth
Go into bluetooth settings:
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Bluetooth Settings
(turn on keyboard, I hit the "connect" button on the other side of the keyboard however this may not be necessary; bluetooth icon on keyboard should be blinking)
Under "Bluetooth devices" on the G-tablet find the "Logitech Tablet Keyboard GEN" and click on it.
It'll ask you to enter the pin. I tried entering "0000" and it didn't work so after some searching around I did this:
When it asks for the pin enter "0000" and after you click ok... immediately type on the Logitech Keyboard (not the tablet!) "0000" and press <ENTER> key
If done correctly it should read, "Connected to hid device" if it says, "Paired but not connected" then hit a few keys on the keyboard to wake it up.
I haven't tested it with other Roms or versions of Android (the keyboard is made for 3.0+ so if you have that installed on your G-Tablet and the ROM supports bluetooth then it should work out of the box) but if it does work on a different ROM, Android version, etc please post here so others can get help!
Thanks!
Thanks, this really helped me with my Atrix 4G
Just wanted to give thanks where thanks are due...yesterday at work we had a blind gentleman (who only spoke spanish, as well) come in and want to pair this Logitech Keyboard (for Android 3.0+) to his Dell Streak tablet (running Android 2.2). I pulled up xda on my phone and sure enough here was this tutorial and it worked like a charm! He was incredibly grateful so thank you OP for this tip!
I recently bought the logitech keyboard for my g-tab running brilliant corners and I have tried this method many times with no success. I had to download an app called BlueInput and it works just fine with it. The android function keys don't work but i'm typing on it now. I didn't really want to spend $13 on an app for it but who am I to complain when I got the keyboard on a cyber Monday deal for $39. But if somone knows why the function keys don't work and how I can get them to work it would be much appreciated.
I just bought this keyboard an followed these instructions and it work for VEGAn_TAB VEGAn-7.1.0-smb_a1002.
All buttons seam to work but the HOME key.
not sure why?

Bluetooth missing in settings page

Hi,
I have purchased an Energy Sistem Android Smart TV Box running android 4.0.3.
I rooted it.
This box has no bluetooth capability, but bluetooth share service is running.
I have a BT keyboard I want to connect to.
I plug my bluetooth USB dongle but I still don't see the bluetooth button in the settings page right under WiFi.
I think that if I could have this button displayed, I could turn on bluetooth and connect my keyboard.
Does anyone know if there is an xml file to edit for this or is this more complicated and needs a dev environement ?
Any clue much appreciated.
Thanks
in fact /system/bin/bluetoothd is missing
this is called in init.rc
would there be any way to get the service binaries from another distrib ?
