I installed ARHD but alas, its configured to appear as a Sensation XE. This breaks compatibility with Order and Chaos. I was wondering, can someone tell me exactly what lines to change, so that my phone appears as a Sensation 4G?

Not possible through build.prop
I tried it myself by opening the file with ES File Explorer and edit it as text to the line with ro.product.model=HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio to ro.product.model=HTC Sensation then save it and reboot my phone but it won't change in the Phone Identity tab of "About my Phone" in settings.
Just don't care, still you have a HTC Sensation and why bothering about the XE with Beats Audio, you just have the same specs right now only the design of your phone is the original Sensation. That's the only difference
If it wasn't for order and chaos having issues with "Sensation XE" I honestly wouldn't care. But since the game constantly ask to be updated if it's an XE, then we have a problem.

Edit build.prop file, clear market data, reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvick cache then reboot and it should work.

this is not specially for ARHD , i did that on the rom i use
my method for modifying build.prop will change ONLY the name in setting \ about phone ,
to have true configuration , maybe you should take a look at the link mentioned in Post #5 above
How to edit and Replace
open rom zip file in a winrar window
open system and drag build.prop to desktop and leave winrar window opened
use editor ( usually that don't remove coding ) , i used notepad ++ to open build.prop . you can try notepad for the Build.prop it could work
press (ctrl + f ) to search for Sensation XE or XE , edit the highlighted string XE to 4G to and save as build.prop ( not build.txt )
look at the icon for build.prop and remember the shape inside winrar window
now drag the edited file into winrar window and click yes , if it replaces the old and there is one file then finished . if you have 2 files delete the old one ( have the icon you memorized ) and rename the new one by adding " .prop " .
there is another file that would include the Sensation XE name , its for the mail ( i.e for web ) you can do the same with it also , it is located in system \customize \MNS\default.xml
you can additionally make a search that include ( search inside archives ) for that word and modify it when possible if the above didn't solve your problem because of different structure of the rom

Most all of the ROMs are set up for the Desire. I would like to rename it back to the Inspire. I have tried the /system/custom/CID/default.xml and it doesn't have the permissions to allow this. I tried to chmod to 755 default.xml through the command line tool and doesn't allow me to do so. I have heard of a apk that or mod that does this for you.
Does anyone know of this, and can give me a link to find it?

For what it's worth, a clean install of the latest GB RUU will show your Inspire as "Desire HD" in "settings". I really don't know what the big deal is. If you forget what your phone is, look at the back. If it has an AT&T logo, it's an Inspire; if it's a HTC logo its a DHD (unless you're this guy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215759).

it does work you have to be on tmobile for it to work i have it working on a eu rom but i am on tmobile
Tried on InsertCoin 2.2.2 on tmous. Got an unsupported device error. Didn't xxx with my cid.

You have to edit build prop to show HTC Sensation 4G instead of Sensation with the Z number. Edit those aspects, along with commenting out a reference to Europe Pyramid, reboot and it works. I am a paid user of the app and have used it on EVERY ROM posted here on XDA. Since the build prop files are slightly different on many of these roms I am giving only a general guide. It does work for every rom. You just have to have YOUR current ROM appear to be a stock TMobile user. Editing the build prop won't affect anything else regarding these specific edits. I uploaded my file I am currently using with SenselessExtreme. Just look for any of those references that do NOT match up to an HTC Sensation4G but say Sensation Z710e and change.

Not working
I'm on SENSEaY XE's current ROM and trying to get T-mo TV to work. But no matter what I try I can't get it to work. Since most build.prop files are different, does any using this ROM have this app working and if so how did you do it?

There is just one line to edit:
ro.product.model=HTC Sensation 4G
...all build.prop may be different, but they all have that line. Change whatever it is to what is shown above.

Thanks, drivn2fast! I figured it would be something simple. Just an FYI to anyone else out there that is trying to do the same.... use either ES File Explorer or Root Explorer to make the changes. I tried a built-in file manager from the ROM and it wouldn't work.
I read the advice drivn2fast gave and I found what he is talking about. I found it on Root Explorer, but I can't get my keyboard to come up on the phone to make the edit. Any suggestions? Thanks loads!!!

Hello I rooted my Tmobile US Sensation and installed Insertcoin rom. I really like the Rom. I need to download a banking app from the market however when I try to it tells me this app is not availible to our device (HTC Sensation z710e) I understand that it thinks I am using a Euoropean Sensation because thats what the rom is setup for. I have done some research and thought I could change a file to reflect I have a TmobileUSA Sensation instead of the z710e... I have ES file explorer so I can edit a file. From reading here I thought it was the build.prop file but that doesn't have anything in it that looks correct to me.
Anyways I am sure this is an easy fix any help would be greatly apprecited
This can be done by altering the following line in: /system/build.prop
ro.product.model=
From whatever it was to: ro.product.model=HTC Sensation Z710e (Or whichever you want)
Reboot and all is well.
Download Market Enabler from the market and it will enable you to use any market yuo want to download your prefered software.

I changed mine from ro.product.model=HTC Sensation Z710e
to
ro.product.model=HTC Sensation 4G
Also tried Market Access and Market Enabler non of these will let me download my banking app. It still thinks im using the europe one. I have tried rebooting.. Any other ideas?
Solved this on my own by copying the build.prop from Android Revolution rom and putting it into the insertcoin rom. Not sure if this has any negative side effects that I don't know about but it's working now.
I would suggest using a program such as notepad++ and comparing the 2, just to see if there are any major differences
It's the ROM fingerprint that you need to change as that's what is checked. You just need to edit that line in the build.prop to the one from your region's ROM

Got it Thank You! I was more questioning the lib directories because I copied all those over as well. It has files like librilswitch.so likneto.so libhtc_rilswith.so libganril.so I put these in the insertcoin rom as well. Anyone know what these are?

Im not too sure whats happened but after flashing the ICS roms my sensation XE thinks its a Sensation. In phone identity it just states sensation and the model number z710e.
IS this just due to the rom or have a messed somthing up?

It's just a line in an xml file that is displayed in settings. If you want it to say sensation xe with beats audio z715e then flash an XE Rom

That is one of three lines that need editing but the other 2 are set in /system/customize/CID/default.xml and are only loaded on first boot so really best thing to do is flash an XE ROM or a ROM that has XE support

Try push the attached file to /system/lib using ADB or a File Manager in root mode and set the permissions to whatever the other files are in /system/lib.
