Ics firmware, outdated use Mike's latest release. - HTC Sensation

Here is the ics firmware from the leaked ics Ruu. Big thanks to rcteam. Ruu is a beta release so flash this at your own risk.
Rename to pg58img. This firmware is missing system and recovery.IMG, but will update the other partitions. Once flash restore nand or reflash Rom once update is complete.
http://db.tt/HMWF5RaX
Edit: So I downloaded this package to make sure that it works and is not corrupted. It is not corrupted.
Here is a md5 you can use to make sure that yours is not corrupted either.(believe it should be for all other downloads)
md5 checksum: 147CBA54E2B4756B5CA76AD8B0350CE3
after flashing read third post down.
While flashing the pg58img and you get a model wrong id in the middle of flashing you need to supercid. Link to supercid. Someone in mikes thread reported that you can supercid while in hboot 1.20.xxxx
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
Thread to mikes thread if you experience in problems, trouble, or to report feedback.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618
Another note, difference between hboot.
1.20.xxxx, 1.19.xxxx, 1.18.xxxx will have locked at the top, to unlock you can htcdec unlock it. There is no performance difference between any of the hboot including eng hboot 1.17 shipped or revolutionary. As mike stated most user will be fine with hboot 1.18.xxxx-1.20.xxxx as they do not use fastboot write commands and they can just flash through pg58img files.
But for others if you want fastboot commands you can flash eng hboot back 1.17.xxxx
Link to ziggy's post if you want to eng hboot (1.17.xxxx) back
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20681060&postcount=22
After flashing, dzdata will delete userdata so you will have to reflash rom or nand backup. YOU WILL STAY S-OFF FROM FLASHING THIS AND ANY OTHER HBOOT!!!!! This has been stated many times in numerous thread and I believe everybody is getting tired of answering this.

They already released the RUU themselves here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408961.
So not sure what you posted?

Side note. Hboot will say locked. If you don't like it just reflash eng hboot. And you will stay s-off.

It's not the ruu. It's the firmware inside for those who don't want to go through the process. And this won't upgrade the system partition or recovery.

Since s-off stays (right?), are there any disadvantages to keeping the updated hboot and just unlocking it via htcdev? Or is that even possible? I wanted to try the new radio, but I read that it's unstable unless you keep the hboot.

Ok considering people May have bricked their device in the other thread....anyone successful in flashing this let us know....I'm not going to risk it until I know It's safe

Heh. This thread and one of the other reaction threads to Steve007's firmware zip really made me do some searching and learn a bit more about the different kinds of bootloaders. That said, all of a sudden I'm not so brave to flash this right away lol.
Sucks what happened with the other firmware package though. Really bad timing.

i just did that yesterday and it worked
only difference that i flashed the rom.zip extracted from the ruu
i deleted the recovery image incase the new hboot locks the phone again
i then restored my backup and voila
the weird thing is my bootloader says 1.20 and unlocked at the top !!! any ideas
i didnt try flashing another hboot as i would like to keep the newer radio which is a little better than old 10.58
other than that ICS works way better with it`s own firmware

This bricked my S4G last night. Steve's zip may have been bad.

It needs Qualcomm QPST or a Jtag to recover. I'm exchanging it through T-Mo for warranty. I think he posted a corrupt file with MD5 sums, so I verified MD5 sums match to a corrupt file and flashed, leaving me with a paperweight that won't even turn on.

Flashed it last night, i knew at the time i should have removed splash1.nb0 as my custom splash with "property of ....... my email, brothers phone no was replaced by stock HTC splash
RCMix ICS rom definitely running better with this, did the HTC dev unlock but couldn't get fastboot to flash my custom splash so used PG58IMG to go back to older hboot, everything seems fine with old hboot and new radio

Flashing firmware from anything other than a release RUU is just asking for a brick. I couldn't advise more strongly against it unless you're already considering buying yourself a new device and need a potential excuse.

only disadvantage is losing fastboot commands. flash hboot 1.17 through bootloader like how you would flash this package. Since all the partitions are updated you should be fine in running any hboot with the newest radio.

[Q] About flashing ICS RUU

Hi all,
I searched everywhere and read everything about this, but it seems to be a little confusion yet
I would flash the new Sensation XE ICS RUU, but firstly I have many question:
1. I didn't do Super CID on my Sensation (regular, not XE, not 4G), must be done? I'm already S-OFF with Revolutionary.io tool and I can flash whatever ROM do I want.
2. If I doesn't like anything can I return back on 1.17.1111 HBOOT?
3. What are the requisites before flashing?
4. IT IS SAFE?
5. Anyone flashed that? Can you tell me some tips or perhaps warnings?
Sorry for being noob. I repeat: I read everything in this forum, but before flashing I want to make sure of everything twice.
Hello, I'am new in this forum: I have htc sensation xe, full originally, S-ON....ecc..
also I too am still confused:
1)Can I try the ICS Ruu with htc sensation xe S-ON?
2)If what is the procedure to do this?
Thanks in advance and sorry for being noob.

I don't think you can only "try". Maybe once you flash that RUU you can't reflash older RUUs back.
I'm not sure if you need super Cid completed. I have done it, since in the flashing forum, it is one of the steps to follow. I believe it is needed to flash rims to do with different carriers.
When you root your phone, go into clockworkmod recovery and backup your rom. The you can flash ics Tom and return to yourl original if you wish.
That is what I did. The ice roms. Are fairly laggy atm, so I revert back. Hope this helps

If you are on a Sensation (non XE) then yes you should need supercid as you are installing a rom not of your carrier. Here is the way you can test. Download it and try to flash it. It will not let you if it has a CID issue then you SuperCID.
2 - Yup just flash the hboot from an earlier rom
3 - Check this -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414243
4 - Yes and no. If you mess up doing SuperCID you have a chance of bricking your phone but if you follow the instructions you should be fine.
5 - I haven't but across ARHD, Virtuous, RCMix, etc I have seen many who have and are up and running.
So I that I can try the sensation XE ICS RUU without the super-CID and with HTC sensation XE original and witouth root(S-ON)?
Then to return to the starting point (Android 2.3.4 and sense 3.0 original ) just reinstall the original RUU(RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.4_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_220036_signed) from here:filefactory.com/f/c87a2330449af512/?
thanks in andvance
If you are S-ON do NOT - under ANY circumstances - flash the RUU
If you do you will NOT be able to downgrade to a previous RUU as you won't be able to S-OFF your handset. You will be stuck with it until such time as Revolutionary works with the new HBOOT (if at all)
You have been warned...

hboot 1.20 doesn't remove s-off, and hboot 1.20 can't be s-offed
RCMix ICE v1.1 doesn't have hboot 1.20 so you have obviously flashed a RUU or the new firmware did you install busybox, su, recovery, etc as required if you flashed a RUU no root no flashing new roms

Any ideas to revert back to older hboot's ? RUU.exe files won't work anymore, can't flash other radio's etc...

CID and MID changes

Hi all,
New to sensation, and I'm going to be a bit cautious and ask before royally messing up...
Going for ARHD and I'm looking at firmwares. My cid and MID do not match with supported devices listed. So, what is the likelyhood of a brick if I edit the files to include my id's? Would it be better to force another id on? Is it possible to change the MID in fastboot at all?
Currently rooted and have necessary recovery and gingerbread ARHD.
THANKS!

Hi,
When you did s-off,did you do Super CID?
Is your phone S-Off and SuperCID?
You can check if you're are S-off by booting into recovery, and you can check if you're superCID by using fastboot in the terminal.
Code:
fastboot getvar cid
This command will return 11111111 if you are SuperCID.
If you want to flash 6.0.X you need to install new firmware, the PG58IMG.zip package. You want "Firmware from 3.12.401.2/102 RUU"
make sure to check the md5sum of all packages and follow the instructions for all the roms diligently and you'll be ok.
Don't want to superCID? Use the firmware in my signature I have added most to supported devices

hopefully when I get the suggested radio to flash it'll be sorted. The one on the ARHD thread will not flash for me doing it the way in instructions or manually in fastboot.

I guess that it's simple to change that. However I don't know if this helps for warranty purposes
Flash an ruu. It's the safest and easiest way

If you've unlocked it via HTC you can't have it back to 'Locked' - you'll always be 'Relocked' from now on. An RUU will make no difference

Try to s off using revolutionary , then flash a ruu and s on. This *might* work. Instructions are in a sticky thread somewhere. Don't return the phone with revolutionary hboot back, its automatically out of warranty

It doesn't work. "Relocked" is still displayed. I've tried that.
You have to revert the flashing of Unlock_code.bin somehow.
BTW: please use "thanks" if my answer helped you.
It really doesn't matter, if you used HTC Unlock your warranty is void, they know you unlocked, other than changing the word what the hell is the point. The new firmware 3.32 from Mike removes locked message replacing it with Revolutionary. Be careful flashing firmware it can cause bootloop if done wrong and those new firmwares 3.30 and 3.32 are only for ICS, GB will bootloop.
restore rom image
I'm wondering if restoring a rom with cwm and the rom is before unlocking
the bootloader with HTC method will make a difference
You CANNOT get it back to 'Locked' as nothing we have available to us (RUU, OTAs, FW, etc) touches that part of the phone

Restoring a rom does not change the bootloader.

I was hopping to restore misc partition, but it isn't. Changing the bootloader does not
help.
