[Q] CPU 100% problem - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folks ... I'm havig a problem with the cpu running at 100% alot of the time ... i cnt seem to figure out whats causing it
I was running Prime OC kernel and setcpu running it at 1200 ... thought it might be Setcpu, so uninstalled that ... rebooted and CPU spy shows it still using cpu at full. Installed blades kernel and it shot up to 1504 full CPU usage (even though i flashed the 1.2 default)
Flashed the stock kernel and its now sitting at 100% 1000 !!!!
Unless cpu spy is showing me false results i dont know what i've changed or installed for it to suddenly start doing this .... Head scratching moment ...
Advice welcome

P.S. screenie is when i was on prime OC kernel

Have you tired re-flashing your kernal and rom?

Tried 3 kernels ....
I think its due to cpu spy though thankfully... running a cpu load widget now and its results are alot more pleasing to the eye
Cpu spy must have been updated recently i suppose and for some reason its knockedthe results askew.

Why isn't my phone running at 400 Mhz?
the kasier processor slows done when not on full load as to save bettery. you would want your kaiser running at 100% all the time or it would be dead every 45 minutes
Yeah, that definitely makes sense. Thanks, austinsnyc.
I agree with austinsync... should be like that...
once it happened to me to have 410mHz, as well!

yea ive had 416mhz. it changes lol.
so if im running all kinds of programs like a movie, internet, gps, bluetooth, ect. the cpu speed can sometimes get over 400?
it automatically adjusts mine goes from 375mhz to 420mhz
I've been searching all over for a clocker also. There's time when I'm at work, and all I ever use the phone is for email, because I'm very mobile.
I barely play music, or watch movies, so I actually need something to limit the speed, there's time I need battery span, than speed at work.

Quadrant score van 1100 => 1450

Found a nice tutorial which explains how to compile a new kernel with 3 patches starting from the bravo stock sources.
http://arighi.blogspot.com/2011/01/howto-install-custom-kernel-on-htc.html
One of the patches is the BFS scheduler.
I compiled the kernel with -O3 optimization and left out some things (e.g. PPP, IPv6).
Procedure went flawless (but of course requires certain level of linux skill).
After running Quadrant with this new kernel my score went up from 1100 to 1437 (with setrCPU to keep the 1GHz frequency on).

Note that I am using the stock Sense ROM (OTA upgraded to the HTC Froyo update). The compiled kernel can be installed using Clockworkmod recovery.

How about posting scores running at stock CPU speed 1024Mhz (or as near to stock speed as your kernel permits) as some ROMS only run stock kernel and therefore can't OC
Quadrant score of 2035 running 2.10.401.4 with stock kernel, as per screenshot

Help! Benchmark suddenly shows crap CPU.

Hi!
Since the day I got my Z3, I've always had around 25000 "points" in Quadrant Standard benchmark. Now, however, the phone won't even reach 13000.
From a screenshot shot back in august, CPU points is 91152. If I run the same benchmark today, it is somewhat around 38000.
What could be the reason of this? My currently "profile" is 300-2457mhz, interactive/cfq.
Normal:

Today:
Try a reboot and retry quadrant without opening any apps.
i also feel CPU usage is high in new update. all video players are lagging.
tried repairing/resetting through PCC. formatted memory card. still video lags randomly on all the players.

I have tried this many times. Reinstalling SetCPU and SetXperia, but it just keeps getting lower and lower.. At the moment it wont even reach 10000 points.
