So my little brother recently got this phone for Christmas and I'm just curious if there are any ROM's for it. I could not find anything about it so if there's development for the Galaxy S Prevail, I would really appreciate some links. Thanks for your time.

I used to have this phone and there are a few ROMs for it. Check out the forums at: http://androidforums.com/galaxy-prevail-all-things-root/
CTMod is a good one. The only bad thing is that the Prevail can't be overclocked.

I mean the processor can't be clocked higher than 800 mhz.

Just saw on samfirmware twitter that the galaxy s i9000 is supposed to be getting an official samsung update to 2.3, hope one or some of the devs can jump on this and hook up the cappy owners with a working rom.

Only good thing about 2.3 is google made ext4 a requirement. Rfs can no longer be used.

i think you missed his point.
they handle the update direct for their european devices without the carrier having to test, approve, add bloat, etc. so they generally meet their deadlines.
The i9000 has had froyo for quite a while now.

See these are the responses that are crippling our community. Answer the question with some information and good will versus sarcasm and venom.
Not everyone was born with ability to to distinguish technology and have adb commands hard coded in their brains. Not singling you out man I see it alot. And I can imagine a noob at his keyboard hands trembling in fear of imminent flaming for asking a question.
Yes I encourage the "Search" and I encourage people to fully read threads. I also discourage mobs with torches and pitch forks when some asks a question an advanced user finds silly or whatever. Again just satin this as a blanket statement. Community and unity guys.

Does Nexus S ROM work on Nexus One
Does Droid ROM work on Droid 2 or Droid X or Droid Pro or Droid X2.... just cuz they slightly have the same name doesn't mean it will.
Some common sense helps.
The Does Nexus S ROM work on Nexus S 4G questions I understand, since they are basically the same thing except for the GSM/CDMA radios. But to think Nexus S and Nexus One is alike is just crazy.

The Nexus one is a 3G GSM HTC device. The NexusS is a 3G Samsung device. The NexusS4G is 3G CDMA EvDo rev A and 4G wimax Samsung device . The hardware is very different thus radios, kernels framework, systemui, settings and other system software will be different in order to accommodate each devices respective technology.
Hope that answers your question.

The Nexus One is made by HTC.
Nexus S is made by Samsung. It's not really a Galaxy S variant either.
Why would you want a Nexus S ROM on a Nexus One? I thought ROM is all about OS?

Yeah, I didn't know that. I just figured Q&A is where I should post an honest question plus I was just doing a favor for a friend. Now if I had, "How do I get root and put a custom ROM" on as my topic I could understand the sassyness.

I STILL have my N1. I still flash ROMs on it almost daily. None of those ROMs "blow". This being a development community, I find your comment obnoxious and unnecessary.
Edit to clarify: Allot of hard work goes into creating a ROM. That's why your comment bothers me.

I know what goes into making a ROM. There dev section looks neglected. Found that a lot of the devs don't bother do update there topic if a URL goes down and hell, quite frankly even some of the ROMs don't explain what upgrades they have. One ROM I even found people complaining it was all in Spanish and even the latest MIUI was taken down because of problems.
Go check out the dev sections for the Samsung Captivate and look in any of the ROM topic and you'll see how detailed they are and most even have screenshots.
That's all I meant. This is getting beyond off topic from my original question. Got my answer and that's all I needed to know. Done posting here. Thanks.

You need to install a custom kernel that supports overclocking which can be found in your respective tablets development section.

Awesome girlfriend!
I looked for the first time in the 10" dev section last night and couldn't believe there was nothing at all. There is so much for the 7 so far. Once the 10 sells more units and more people get them a nice smart dev should end up with one and that's where the roms and things will come from. At this point in time I wouldn't trade my 7 for a 10 because I hate the stock firmware so much. It's so laggy and un-ics like.
Good luck, keep SetCPU because it's the best IMO. I've been using it for years.
Verizon Galaxy S3 has finally got an unlocked bootloader. Any chance we will see a sense 4.0 port to it now like the international version and other us carriers i believe?

That would be cool. I'm honestly a fan of Sense Roms, but I dislike HTC a lot.
It may be easier than on the Galaxy nexus/NexusS due to the Qualcom CPU...

We have kernels for AOSP and TW, they'd just need to pick on and modify it if they even need to. It comes down to how much they really want to port it.
