EA Games won't download additionalndata - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hi all I have Chainfire downloaded and am rooted. A lot of games do work and I'm pleased however I downloaded NFS Hot Pursuit and Madden 2012 and they install fine. However they hang up when attempting to download the extra data. Others download their data fine. EA server? Or something on my end.

Maybe it's EA sever not recognizing our device. Try copy the data from a SGS2...

OK well I have the atrix and tried to side load but couldn't even find the. Apk file. Its not with the other apps. I'll keep hunting. Plays great on my 4 inch atrix lol

Well I found the. Apk and sideloqded it but still wouldn't download the additional data. Maybe I don't understand. Would moving these from a SGS2 be better than an atrix? And why. I figured phone apks were all the same.

You were trying to copy the .apk, not the data. You need to copy the downloaded game data from another phone and put it in the internal memory of the tablet. You could try pulling the data off of the SD card of the Atrix. That might work, although the SGSII would be the surer bet because it has a similar hardware profile to the 7.0 Plus.

Probably a dumb question, but how do I copy the data?
I am having the same exact issue. I'm rooted with chainfire and nvidia plugin. I was able to Install NFS Shift, but it gets hung up when trying to download the additiknal data. I tried to restorr App and Data from a TiBackup off my SGS2, but it still tries to install the additional data and freezes.

restarted Xoom and now low Space ?

I restarted my xoom after it was acting funny (all stock 3g verizon) and when it booted back up I was getting an error message saying I'm low on space and I went from having 1.7 gb of apps to 20 some gb. I have seen something like this happen before on a phone but it was becuz I was messing with things and massing things together. I Imagen a full wipe and restore will work, but is there any thing else could with out starting fresh and most of all what could this have been to avoid.
Get a file manager that shows folder sizes and find out wtf is taking so much space then get back to us.
Macbots drool as I XOOM through the Galaxy to my hearts Desire on the back of a Droid.
Get the app called diskusage it shows the size of everything on the phone/tablet on an easy to read grid

Tried to install diskusage but no app will install now from the market. Tried looking around with file manager but don't seem to find any big file or folder
great now I have this problem... refuse to flash to factory
Known issue, check the motorola forums. I think its a cache file.
Btw: wrong ub forum, post in qa or general next time.
Sorry, thought this was in dev.

Download File manager HD. Go into the menu in the top right and select storage analysis. It should tell you which folder is taking up the most space.
I had this issue within the first week of ownership. I couldn't figure it out so I formatted. Hasn't come back since.
This is an issue faced by some of xoom user.. check out motorola owners forum, the motorola seniors r trying to help

[Q] Rooting a Nexus S ICS on a Mac without wiping?

Hi everyone.
I've poked around and I can figure out how to root without wiping, how to root ICS on a Nexus S, and how to root a Nexus S on a mac, but not all 3 together. I can technically run windows on my Mac but its slow and not the greatest experience (I had headaches using parallels for my Nokia E71). The reason I ask for a no-wipe is because I pretty much have all the settings and everything exactly as I want. If there was a way to 100% clone the memory card and internal memory I would but all I can find are programs that'll back it up once its already rooted.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Wiping isn't that bad I do it every other day. And with all the backup tool Like titanium, etc it makes it even easier.
I also rooted my nexus on a iMac. It took maybe 5 minutes.

Thanks.
For now, before I root, can I just copy over everything on my SD card to my computer, root and then overwrite the SD card with what I copied to my desktop? Eg. I have a few gameloft games that are hundreds of megabytes in size; I don't want to have this cause them to break or force a re-download.
And I'm still unsure about what's in the internal memory. I know certain things are remembered as part of the Google cloud but is everything remembered (for lack of a better term)?
You can copy the games folder to your computer. And music, etc too if you want. All Google stuff is in the cloud so you'll get that back when you sign back in to your google account during setup.

Thanks for all of the help, david & esteway.
I guess my final question is, even though I'm running ICS on a Nexus S (I9020), I'll be okay if I follow steps 1 through 5 of the first link below, and the proceed with the steps in the second link, correct?

Thanks for the vid you made, I'm not sure if there's any difference between the NS4G and the i9020 w/ ICS....
Years of being used to Nokias has made me a little more tentative before I try anything

[Q] Modern Combat 3

Ok, I've searched for two days straight now and I hate to open another MC3 thread but I keep finding the same solution to the problem which does not resolve it for me(editing the build.prop).
Has ANYONE gotten Gameloft's Modern Combat 3 to work on their SGS2SR? I've edited my build.prop 3 ways from Sunday and it hasn't changed a thing. I called Gameloft and the guy said it was compatible with the phone and it should be working, and sent me a new copy, still didn't work. I refuse to believe that it works perfectly on a SGS2 but not the Skyrocket, there has to be a way! I've heard people running non-stock roms run it fine, so what can I do to my stock rom to make it work?
I couldn't get it to run either. However, you can go to some apk sites that will tell you how to make it work. I believe it requires you to root your phone tho. If I remember right they use root explorer to change some stuff. Good luck I just gave up with gameloft on this phone. EA games work great.

Yes they all say to edit the build.prop, which I already did as many different ways and I can figure. Nothing has changed a thing.. Trying to find out what is different in other roms vs stock rom that lets them play the game and not me. I have a LOT of other gameloft games that work fine, including MC2..
It is now available in the new market. At least a version of mw3.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk
I had it installed and working from a previous build.prop edit, but now its showing In the market with no edit, installing and running flawlessly on SkyIcecream
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk
I tried the new version(on stock, not icecream) and it didnt work..
But my dumba** figured out what I was doing wrong.. It took me all that searching around to figure out that the build.prop edit requires a reboot after you edit it. Not one of the forums mentioned that and for some reason I couldn't think of the most simple solution on my own..
Soooo anyone wanting MC3 to work, edit your build.prop to look like a HTC Desire HD(theres a million and one threads already on how to do so), mount as R/O, then REBOOT. Works like a charm.

problem w games

Hi, Ive done my share of ROM switching recently and one problem i have is with restoring in-app downloads on a new ROM. Games like Shadowgun keep asking me to redownload the inapp game files 250 even though i had done that on another ROM and im sure the file is still saved somewhere on my sd because i never removed it. I Dont want to redownload because i pay a lot for the extra gb i download from my home connection.
another game, real racing asks me to buy the app even though i had done so before on the absolution rom. I pressed the buy game button from the app to see what will happen and it just linked to a page in the playstore that eventually told me what i already knew ... that i had already bought the app. so i go back to the game hoping the issue is solved and instead i still can not continue the game because it thinks i have to buy it. so. .. I'm stuck. .. can't play without buying and can't buy it again ( not saying that i want to or should have to) because it says i already bought it :s

Don't know if this helps, but uave you tried clearing the cache from the store? Reboot after just in case.

TF101 Space Error

Heya all,
I've been searching for over an hour now and haven't found a response, so please forgive me and direct me to the appropriate thread if one exists. Here's my problem. When I went to bed last night, my TF101 was fine. No errors, running smooth, no problems. Plugged into the dock, and I put it on the charger, as I do every single other night, before I went to sleep. This morning, however, it's as if a band of demons has run amok in my TF101. I'm lagging all over the place, crashing, freezing- you name it, it's happened, short of the device fully erasing itself (I backed everything up a bit ago, just in case). NOTHING has changed. I've managed to resolve all the problems short of this one: I'm getting (and appear to be) damn near out of space in my app memory. I have the 32gig model, rooted, stock rom but Guevor's kernel v22.1, OC to 1404 per SetCPU default profiles. No app updates have installed, and no new apps have been installed, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how in the world I suddenly have no space left when last night I still had over half my memory empty in this device. I'm not a major Linux person, but am capable of following clear directions for troubleshooting, and any help is welcome.
Thanks in advance folks!

(edited because I can't spell for crap this morning)
Your transformer may in fact have been possessed by a demonic horde. I recommend you factory reset in CWM (wiping cache and dalvik-cache as well) reinstall your ROM and have a priest perform a proper exorcism on the device. See if that helps.
Damn. Thanks for the reply, Thing. I think this is one of those cases where one seeks advice because even though they know the answer, they don't want it to be true. I was really hoping to manage this without having to reset. As ridiculous as this will sound (because it is ridiculous), I don't want to lose all the work and progress I've made on my Sims Freeplay game. I've got MyBackup Pro, but that doesn't seem to play well with SU, as I just get the "SuperUser has been granted access" or whatever it says when it tries to run, and it's never backed up the app quite like that before, the full progress. It only re-installs the .pkg file. I wonder if Titanium Backup would work better. Your thoughts?
Incidentally, Thing O Doom, you were the one who saved me from the horrible doom of being unrooted. I was not thinking, and updated to .24 without making sure to back my root up, and sure enough, got stuck. Your method was the one that worked for my rather touchy and pissy, although beloved, Transformer. I swear, this thing is possessed by VIKI from I, Robot.
Which brings me to my next question.... Please bear in mind that this is WAY out of my depth, so if it's ridiculous please be careful when you fall out of your chair laughing, but is there some way to extract my Sims game, with all it's progress and data bases, from a nandroid backup, and then just insert/install that back onto my TF101 after the wipe?

Titanium backup.....backup app and data (not system)(do a batch backup for all your apps)
Free on play store.
Just redownload and then reinstall tb after flashing any rom & batch restore your apps with data.
Use the tick in the top right corner to see the batch options. Regularly redo your backups for modified data aswell.
Thanks Scotty.
Unfortunately, I may be out of luck. It seems like no matter what I uninstall, I can't clear any space at all. It stays at around 225MB free, despite me having uninstalled around 300MB of apps, clearing caches, and not having more than 13gigs full in the first place. I wonder if there is a way to side-load it. Like, download the .apk file and install from there... Hmmm.... I'll try that, see if there's any luck there. I paid for Titanium a while back. I just downloaded the Revolver zip (if I have to flash, I'm putting a rom on here, and not messing with ASUS's silliness anymore), so it will let me DL from the web...

OK, I managed to get TB to install, and now have backups. I noticed that TB has a feature called "Extract from Nandroid", and am hoping that if the backup fails somehow, I can pull it from the nandroid. Here goes nothing. Thanks for the help guys!

@Thing, the restore worked. Whatever the Horde of Demons THOUGHT it was going to get away with has failed, and I now have a quietly behaving TF101 again. I'm giving Revolution a test spin.
@Scotty, thank you again for your EXCELLENT suggestion. My Sims backed up and restored beautifully from TB, and it's now my daily driver for backups. They've made a lot of improvements since I stopped using it in favour of MyBackupPro.
My TF101 is purring along, better than before now, and I'm quite pleased with it. Thanks again guys.

I have the same problem also.. every weeks or so my TF would run out of space..
I read somewhere. Here in XDA that to check the logs folder in. /DATA/LOGS
Some apps keep making a bunch of log files and it would filled up my TF free space.. now I just check the logs folder and delete those pesky files (I use es file explorer)
Hope that help you..
Thanks for that! I've bookmarked this thread so I can try that before wiping next time. I've also switched to Titanium Backup, since it actually restores the app data as well.
