[Q] Trackpad Problem since Factory Reset - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I performed a Factory Reset and now my Trackpad seems to have reverted to the 3.0 operation.
The Circle cursor is gone, replaced with the impossible to read arrow and Zoom/Drag with 2 fingers no longer works.
I tried to run an OTA update, but cannot as the program states I already have the latest version.
I have not rooted the transformer and cannot seem to load the 3.2.1 .apk file.
Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: That was dumb
Took the Transformer out of the Dock and found the "Touchpad Pointer Style". Set it and it is operating as expected. Sorry

Dock Hotkeys non-functional?

Hi all,
Fairly simple to explain: Most of my dock's hotkeys don't work.
Back works, as well as screen lock (hit this again does not bring the TF out of sleep, though I don't know if that's normal or not), and the music keys work most of the time. Nothing else does however.
Transformer is a B50 model, the dock is a B60. Running latest firmware. 8.6.5.9 or whatever it is. Stock, unrooted. I've tried hard resets, factory resets, etc. None of that has helped. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Since you are not rooted and still Stock I highly suggest contacting ASUS.
I also have this problem with my b70 stock, I think Asus keyboard services or keyboard background services has closed. Not so sure about it but sometime detach and attach again works

[Q] Touchscreen stopped working on Nexus S

Hi all
Today I was trying to get my nexus s onto the official ota ICS update by flashing it manually, following guides other people had had success with.
I was on the cm9 ics beta, so I had to flash the full rom of 2.3.6.
This worked completely, however I think the ota update file I downloaded was corrupted, as flashing didn't work, it said something about signature verification failed. So I redownloaded it, from the same link, and the new one was bigger. I tried that, and the same error. I tried wiping data/factory reset etc, and I accidentally started to flash a cm7 rom I had on my phone.
I stupidly did a battery pull as it started to flash (the back cover was off already), and now my touchscreen doesn't work. I was able to successfully flash other roms including the 2.3.6 I downloaded, and I couldn't do the first setup procedure (touch the android to begin). I tried cleaning the screen very carefully with 90% isopropyl alcohol, the same stuff I use to replace thermal paste on cpus.
It still doesn't work. I am hoping it is a software issue that can be fixed otherwise I have to return it.
Someone please help
I have used the search function and none of the solutions I found worked.
(UPDATE) I rebooted again, and when the phone booted into cm7, the "internet" icon(the globe picture) on the bottom left of the dock was in the "pressed" state(orange). It was like the phone thought I was holding my finger on it, which suggested a hardware issue. I cleaned it again and nothing changed. Then I held the phone in the landscape position. When the screen rotated, the button stayed pressed. So the phone doesn't think "this part of the screen is being pressed" it thinks "this internet icon" is being pressed. Rotating the phone again and again didn't change anything, the icon was still pressed in.
Defiantly a software issue. I would try to unroot and reroot. Then if it is still not working, try to format the SD card. You may want to considering buying a USB to micro USB adapter to help you, considering then u could plug in a mouse. I have one just in case I need it.
Thank me if any of this helped
Also try and keep this updated with new info. If I can't help, maybe someone else can.
Sent from my XT862 using XDA App
Thanks techno-update, I will try that. I haven't "unrooted" before, Is that just typing fastboot oem lock or whatever it is instead of fastboot oem unlock?
Also, I found a youtube video with the EXACT same problem.
v=zpfE15Xw_os&feature=related
Skip to 3:15, and you will see when he opens the power menu, the phone thinks he is pressing on one of the options, but he isn't.
I will let you know how unrooting and rerooting goes.
Thanks
(UPDATE)
I tried unrooting and then rooting again. It still does the same thing.
Even in cwr I can't use the capacitive buttons to navigate menus, does that rule out software problems? I am really hoping its just a software problem :/
I need my phone for an outing tonight (im in australia, its 5pm now) and I would appreciate it if some genius could solve this
I am usually the "go to fix it IT guy" in my area, but I can't figure this one out. I have tried formatting the phone, reflashing the mod etc.
Is there some more aggressive COMPLETE wipe or something that fully wipes the phone?
UPDATE 2
Guys please help,
I just flashed zulugen mod, as it has the trinity kernel, I don't know much about android os, but I hoped that that might replace the touchscreen driver or something. The rom flashed correctly, but touchscreen and the capacitive buttons still don't work. Please help
Guys, is there some sort of system partition where the touchscreen drivers are kept or something? And when I pulled the battery as it was flashing cm7, it corrupted these?
Is there some way to fix this?
bump
bump. I need help with this urgently. Is it possible the connections for the screen came loose inside? I would crack it open but don't have screwdrivers for the 3 smaller screws on the last layer of plastic before the pc board.

[Q] keyboard wake feature not working after ICS?

So heres the problem, the the mobile dock battery saving mode is unchecked, so I should be able to wake up my tablet by pressing a key on the keyboard dock. Since the ICS upgrade this hasn't worked for me, on WW .11 and .17.
I have a B40 TF and a B80 dock. The mobile dock version is EP101-0213, and on stock WW.17.
I didnt do an official Asus ota upgrade, instead I flashed a complete WW .11 rooted. I'm just wondering maybe if the dock version needs to be updated.
Everything else works except that the tablet does not wake with a keyboard press.
Does anyone else have the same problem? or a solution?
Bump
So I'm guessing that this is not a common problem from the lack of responses.
Can anyone at least confirm that my mobile dock version number for WW .17 is correct?
Has anyone else followed similar upgrade paths and not had this problem?
Last question. I'm in Canada, before flashing the HC prime rom for the first time, I didn't make note of the original firmware. Is WW the correct firmware for Canada?
Hopefully someone has some more insights into the inner workings of the TF..
Thanks!
I can confirm - I believe that this is a known bug...
Its pretty much hit or miss with that as there are atleast 2 different dock revisions. If you double tap the trackpad with two fingers with or without the batery mode on it should turn the tablet on
Asus Support
So I sent a support request to ASUS for this issue:
[Problem Description]
ICS WW .17, Since the ICS upgrade, I am no longer able to wake the tablet up by pressing keys on the keyboard dock. NOTE: I have unchecked the "MobileDock Battery saving mode" option in the Asus customized Settings menu. When the tablet goes to sleep, the ONLY way to wake it is to press the power button, pressing any key on the keyboard dock will not wake the tablet. This is not as it was designed.
Click to collapse
and here's the response:
To resolve the issue, we recommend performing a full factory reset. Prior to performing the full factory reset, please back up all personal files because data will be erased during the process. Note that all your applications are tied to your Google account. Please remove the micro SD card if you have one inserted.
To perform a full factory reset please follow the instructions below:
1) Enter Settings menu
2) Select Privacy settings
3) Select Factory data reset
Once the factory reset starts, simply follow in onscreen instructions. When it is complete, the unit will restart.
Click to collapse
Clearly they think I upgraded from HC to ICS without having done a factory reset (? hah!). I've actually done many ... (damn reboots) .. and am limiting the apps that I install so I don't get more reboots.
Admittedly, I've only done the data wipe with CWM, would doing the wipe through the android settings be any different? it will wipe my SD card.. but before wiping all of my files, does anyone know if this will make a difference for my keyboard working?
Cheers.

[Q] Is it possible to hide mouse cursor?

Hi everyone,
Is there anyway to hide the mouse cursor when using the docks touchpad?
Im using DosBox Turbo and its very confusing when you can see 2 mouse cursors on the screen, Does anyone know if it can be hidden either within the emulator settings or the TF101 settings.
Many thanks in advanced.
Needs a version of CWM recovery, flash the preferred zip. (No-circle in your case)
Pointer without circle click.
Thanks for your quick reply,
Ive flashed the zip but now its stuck on the Asus loading screen with the circle.
Any ideas?
Im on ICS Revolver.
The zip was designed for aosp based w.w so it might cause problems. You can get into recovery fine right? try reflashing the revolver rom over it and should boot up
Yep ive reflashed the Rom and everythings back to normal, I should read the entire thread before I jump in and start flashing things ,
Anyway this is on hold at the moment because now my transformer wont charge due to a loose connection in the usb cable, Thing is aswell I dont think theres anywhere locally were I can by one so gonna have to order online and wait
Update:
New usb cable arrived today and tablet now fully charged.
Still havent got rid of my cursor at the moment, Im happy with my current rom and dont fancy changing it, Does anyone know if there are any mods to Revolver rom to hide the cursor or can the other mod by modified??

[Q] keyboard issues- want to change ROM

Hi all, New guy here.
i was told to check out this site to see if i could fine the solution to my issue with a used TF101 i purchased.
i am not fluent with tablets and rooting, etc. so bare with me.
The problem is that when i received the tablet the on screen keyboard was filled with some japaneese writing where the keys were.
Which confused me, i went into the settings and changed the setings to the qwerty style keyboard and everything looked right on the touch screen, but when i docked the unit onto the keyboard dock, some of the keys would not type the corresponding letters or symbols,
such as when pressing shift and the underline, i would end up with the squigly line left of the number one, and other keys would not work properly either.
i asked around and my findings were that the unit was running a stock japaneese honeycomb build ROM,
(my current build is Htk75.jp_epad-8.6.5.13-20110925)
and that i would have to install a new rom to get the keyboard to work properly i have looked at the how to root in the asus section, and it said that i must be running ice cream sandwhich, can someone help me understand what i need to do and what steps i need to take to fix this without creating a paperweight.
the info i have so far
ASUS TF101-1B218A 32gig currently without micro sd in the slot ( will change this weekend when i purchase one)
my build = Htk75.jp_epad-8.6.5.13-20110925
when pressing the power and the volume down key and then the up key, i receive the green android guy with a exclamation point in the center.
i have downloaded the zip file from asus for the us build rom, and put the unzipped zip file into the sdcard directory, and rebooted,
but i was told that it should try to update itself after i rebooted, but nothing had changed at all, still the same without any update notifications etc.
sorry for the length, but any help will be appreciated and i will thank you in advance for info you may have.
thanks
mike
