well as per my expireince , i will show you how i port roms
things required:
dsixda rom kitchen
linux environment
a base rom (like fitdroid,etc)
to install the kitchen follow this thread :

METHOD:
run the menu file in terminal
you will be greeted by the text menu
put a base rom and the rom you want to port in the original update folder
choose 0 : advanced options
then 19 : porting tools
type 'a'
choose the base rom
then choose the rom you want to port
after all , press 99 : build rom from working folder
test your rom
note :
* don't forget to edit your build.prop in your working folder before uplaoding
*if the camera doesn't work , replace camera modules from /system/lib folder with the ported rom
HOPE IT HELPED.......................
The base rom is the stock rom right and the other rom is the one to be ported right....?

In case you don't want to use Linux as your main OS you can set up a virtual PC and load Ubuntu in that for development of porting purposes
I recommend either use Ubuntu 10.4 of 11.4 Dont use the latest version of Ubuntu I had some issues with it

You can use FiTdroid by vishwanath as base!

Yes because they are in RFS filesystem they are in .TAR
use FITDROID as base it's fully bug free and everything works as it should

I tried to deodex my fit running Fitdroid v2.0 using x-ultimate. Here are the steps which i performed:
1] Unzipped xUltimate-v2.3.3.zip.
2] Connected my phone to the PC via USB.
3] Launched Main.exe
4] Did step 1 followed by step 2.
5] Now when I tried to do step 3, It says File not found even when there are files in the origi_app and origi_frame folders.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

what themes are you trying to flash? and how do you apply it?

This mod is originally by AndroidON (thread here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411317) so credit to him for making this known. And please read the thread before implying this to your phone.
I've made 2 files for KQB ROM. One is for stock deodexed KQB, and another one is compatible with nail16's swipe to remove notification mod. Don't forget to mount system before flashing.
This mod will disable 'ScrollingCache' in OS. It will improve scrolling in applications where some apps are found to stutter when scrolling.
NOTE: Make a backup copy of framework.jar in case if you want to revert back to original. And backup your rom in case of bootloop

Please try this file. Have made it two or three days ago, you can flash it simply via Recovery. Don't know if there is a real difference but it won't damage anything. If it does, I'm not responsible for anything happened to your phone.
Edit: New file, removed volume-tweak 'cause buggy...

It disables 'scrollingcache' and smooth apps that stutter/lag when scrolling. As for the screenlock lag, try setting your onscreen/offscreen governors. Or you can try softlocker from market.

Maybe the framework.jar is different as this one's based on BroodROM. Try ravox's file above maybe it helps.

There's a bug with the media volume. If you rise it from zero to middle it stops there and then it rises again. Will upload a new file without volume-mod.

not really much actually, but that's the same for all tweaks, they all make a small difference but all together they make a great difference
so seems at least not to brick anything... i think it really has a small effect but it also could be just a placebo...

Not special bro, its just a Custom based on Indian ICS..
Although, can take some suggestions bro.. We can add some more mods if we try and look, everyone's suggestions are taken.. So. as always try somethin new.. If u get screwed up wit it, jus flash d ROM again.. Yes, we all got rooting fever..

Have you removed the msg limit of 4 msgs then it autoconverts itself to a mms?
Bdw the 15 toggle button zip i have is getting kind of weird when flashed.. Just the time goes %0/%0/%0/..rest is all fine..
If you can mod it properly for.our phone..should i give you the zip so that you can add it up?

I have added the Touchwhiz 5*5 launcher apk and CWM flashable.. (Not my work, thanks to ADAM and PANKAJ)
Also added the 15 toggle mod with updated binary for our phone (Thanks to Vikesh for teaching me how to port something useful for our phone
And thanks to THE DROIDSTER for providing us with the link..)
Check if both of them work perfectly with our device in your rom.
If they do..add them to your ROM it will surely get more electrified
Rest see the link for deoxed rom touchwhiz launcher because i have not added the widgets pack so they aren't working currently in my phone. For them to work, add the widgets pack too might help.
But one thing more..Touchwiz and CM like launchers is getting monotonous..add something different..like the lg/moto/xperia one. Our Royale doesnt even have one Roms with them
This is Great Deepankar Buddy. I have seen that it has animations like my Note 2 in toggles.

Buddy seclauncher 2 is an apk extracted form "TouchwizUX-1.5.1-5x5.zip"..
Rest zips are CWM flashable..Tried the toggle files i.e "s3 toggles stock.zip" and "15_toggles_Stock.zip"?
TAKE BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING THE ZIPS!!!!

i downloaded a european version of 2.3.6 and meta-inf and boot.img from them custom rom jana 6.7
i didnt anything , no rooting no adding/removing apps , i just wanted a clean original rom
i did wipe data and cache partition and dalvik
after choosing install from sdcard it says update completed and nothing wrong , but after reboot system now it just stuck at the first screen showing samsung galaxy fit s5670 )
the problem is a non-booting rom

i made 3 roms and 3 r not booting , after seeing the two threads i puted their links up there i though i just found a clean rom to put my favorite apps and just with kitchen i will be able to flash like any custom roms , but no
in the deoxed rom i just add 6 apps on data/app , and on flashing it , cwm says bad rom , installation aborted
Don't use meta.inf of jana rom...it uses ext4 partition while the stock deodexed one still uses different partition...pls use meta.inf of stock deodexed rom by vishwanath patil...it was released way back..so plz search for that in dev section...

afaik this aint the truth..everything related to partitions is in ramdisk which is in boot.img as the op used jana's boot.img i find no problems but i think jana uses aroma so that may be the issue..

I said cz i found a line which says format line to ext4...may be thats for just showing...nyways m sry if i was wrong...
