[i9003] [THEME]Honeycomb-Like bar with Battery Percentage

Like someone ask, here is mine framework-res.apk. Just overwrite the original in system/framework...
My files has been deodexed ( see THIS post) so i don't know if it works also in the stock ROM.... sure it require the XXKB3 firmware....

First you must have the XXKB3 firmware installed.... then:
1- Install the deodexed files i posted here and then overwrite the original framework-res.apk with mine ( you can use any program like root explorer);
2- You can try to install it on the stock XXKB3 firmware (without installing deodexed app) and if it works you can post your result here....

Sorry to irritate you a lot I'm noob at i9003.. i am expert in TAB.. i get scared to mod i9003..
This maybe noob question, how to install the XXKB3 firmware??

Don't worry...i'm very happy to help someone if i can:
1- For the installation of that firmware there're an useful guide here, i'm sure you will flash your device without problem if you follow it: [I9003] Guide : How To flash Samsung I9003 Galaxy SL Firmware
You can download the firmware HERE
2- root your device with [APP]SuperOneClick v1.9.1
3- To install the deodexed app follow my guide on this post: [MOD] Deodexed XXKB3 with VANILLA Lockscreen for I9003! that include also the stock android lockscreen
4- Apply the guide in the first post....

WARNING: Tried installing this on stock rooted XXKB3 and ended up with a boot loop
Had tried rex4u's framework mod before and had no problems, although I reverted back to stock framework later as I didn't like the over-the-top animations. But this didn't work and had to reflash..

I said "STOCK", and I meant to imply 'not Deodexed'. Its a warning for people who are thinking of doing it on stock without deodexed f/w.

3rd app installed forced close after reboot
Hi Skin,
Just curious why every time I reboot my phone, some of the third app force closed after applied your deodexed method and your honeycomb mod theme.I'm using FW xxxkb3 rooted also. Even after reinstall those third party apps. I'm still newbie on this thing.....need your help

One more thing. As I'm no expert on this, doesn't deodexing cause a bit of a slowdown on the device, or rather, slower on the boot up?

[toturial] porting roms

well as per my expireince , i will show you how i port roms
things required:
dsixda rom kitchen
linux environment
a base rom (like fitdroid,etc)
to install the kitchen follow this thread :

METHOD:
run the menu file in terminal
you will be greeted by the text menu
put a base rom and the rom you want to port in the original update folder
choose 0 : advanced options
then 19 : porting tools
type 'a'
choose the base rom
then choose the rom you want to port
after all , press 99 : build rom from working folder
test your rom
note :
* don't forget to edit your build.prop in your working folder before uplaoding
*if the camera doesn't work , replace camera modules from /system/lib folder with the ported rom
HOPE IT HELPED.......................

The base rom is the stock rom right and the other rom is the one to be ported right....?

Hey guyz...what if I am on Windows 7?...Can I install something like Linux to develop/port ROMs?....I've heard about a thing "Ubuntu"...but don't have much info..don't know whether it will work or not?

In case you don't want to use Linux as your main OS you can set up a virtual PC and load Ubuntu in that for development of porting purposes
I recommend either use Ubuntu 10.4 of 11.4 Dont use the latest version of Ubuntu I had some issues with it

You can use FiTdroid by vishwanath as base!
galaxy fit + CM7.2 (2.3.7) + 801Mhz

I guess he meant in which format the Roms have to placed in..
I guess it should be .zip

Yes because they are in RFS filesystem they are in .TAR
use FITDROID as base it's fully bug free and everything works as it should

[Deodexed][Rom][2.3.6] for DDKT1 !!

This is a basic deodexed update.zip for samsung galaxy fit " DDKT1 "
What does it do ?
1. Deodexes your ROM (removes .odex files and saves internal space)*
2. Roots your phone and adds superuser.(latest)
3. If you have flashed a theme and want to revert back to default stock theme then flash it.
4. Deletes all the installed apps and retores the factory apps.
5. Will update all d Apps
6. New version of market added (much Faster)
How to Installation :-
1. Download the file for DDKT1 from HERE
2. Place it in the root of the sdcard.(not in any folder)
3. Flash it via recovery.
4. Do a factor reset (if u want)
NOTE :-
1. Make sure you are using it on DDKT1

hey raj...how to stop that service msg reply tone means the network reply after we text someone comes...that following last msg cost you this much n so..if silent it vibrates yaar and its annoying how to stop that?????this was in xwkq2 also but not in ddkq5 and now they got this in ddkt1...any one knows how to stop it did system sound to zero and never vibrate also??????

hey dude u can try to install. a good kernel with cwm (clock work mod)....a very important tool to customize your phone....then download a custom rom of your choice from the development section (see that ur firmware matches that of the rom) ....follow the instructions there and you will have a full customized phone as most c-roms are pre rooted and deodexed .....when you learn more and get used to the phone you can try miui or cm (but that is for later ...) .......since ur on kpq u can try Poseidon or vurrut roms (Ive used them and they're nice)....

Its Simple
i am using Poseiden's ROM
How to Install it :-
Backup ur apps, Contacts, Messages.
a) U'll need CWM (i use [CF-Root] by Ganesh u get here for XXKPQ)
1) Flash this *.tar file as a PDA in Odin
b) Downlad Poseiden ROM from here or here
1) Copy this zip file to ur external SD Card
2) Goto Recovery Mode Install the zip file from ur external SD Card
3) after installation setup will reboot to recovery mode, wipe Cache & DALVIK CACHE
Done

Can i install miui or,cm7 ? My friend has miui and i like it very much

Hi everyone
I've got few problems in theming my phone, I dun know how to do although i've read a lot of articles about it. So I hoped that someone could help me
Here is my phone's spec :
My phone is rooted
Firmware ver :2.3.5
Baseband ver : I9003XXKPM
Kernel ver : 2.6.35.7-CL696171
[email protected]#1
Build no : GINGERBREAD.ZHKPD
Then come to the questions

FIRSTLY..
I GUESS you are not rooted...
u are running a stock kernal...
u have to flash your phone with a cf-root to get root acces and CWM wihc is necessary to flash files and deodexing...u can flash universal CF-Root by amit bagaria..or Universal beta9fix.tar by XDA_Bam u need to flash them through ODIN...
First Do the above steps..report back if there is any issue...
then move to the next one..

yes DEODEXING is must...
u have to deodex using a simple zip file... from here.. load it into ur mmc and flash using cwm...

and you will not lose any sms...apps or other stuff..deodexing just removes ur odex files and replaces them with jar files to allow u customizatin..

Instead of waiting why dont you upgrade to xxkpq.All the mods and themes are designed for kpq.
And all the files for deodex and stuff will be easily available

u shud move to xxkpq if u want more themes and mods..i guess its a stock rom so it MUST b having chinese language...
To backup up contacts sms and logs...u have an app called Super backup in market.. that wud save ur contatcs ...and For APPS u have titanium backup...
use them to take backups.. after taking the backups COPY THE BACKED UP folders to ur PC...
cz flashing the phone may remove them...
So u need to go flash xxkpq then cwm...deodex...ext4..theme..
copy back the folders and restore whatever u feel lyk..
