I Just rooted my skyrocket. All is well, but I am looking for a pure google ROM (one without touchwiz!!!!!) lol. I love the galaxies phone but hate the overlay! I love Sense or pure goolge. I know it is early for the skyrocket and everyone is busy putting there own touches on there ROMs. If anyone can point me in the right direction. Please
Just hit F5 on the Skyrocket Android Development forum, or try and make one yourself! You could start with like BoneStocketeer and try to remove the stuff you don't like maybe...
Good luck. Sorry for the somewhat useless response but I don't think there's an easy flashable ROM for you or else it'd already be on these forums.

Hello all, I'm new to Android, with my new Infuse 4g.
I was disappointed to find out that this phone still has froyo, even though ICS is out. Can I please get some Gingerbread?!
I know this is probably out there somewhere but I've been on this site for about an hour now and I haven't gotten the hang of navigating through it properly yet. If someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction, so that I'd be able to hack/root gingerbread onto my phone, that'd be lovely. I already found out how to root it, with SuperOneClick. I just need to figure out how to get gingerbread mod.
Again I'm completely new to android and I don't know the terminology. So please be kind.
Thanks ahead of time.
EDIT: I have an AT&T samsung infuse that is unlocked, but I use T-mobile for my cellular service. (If that matters)
First...go to the development section

thanks
Herp-a-derp
That would be a good start. Thanks!
Welcome to Android and XDA!
Try THIS thread out first, its got a lot of useful information, in fact, it's my obligatory "noob" post for new users lol. (Pay special attention to the ClockWorkMod or CWM part, that'll be your best friend.)
The Infuse was my first android phone too, and I loved it. When you do get to the point where your ready to install a Gingerbread rom, check THIS one out. It's not the most current rom out right now, but the developer has some killer instructions to get you started. If you mess up, there are plenty of ways to get you back to normal.
Once you've got that up and running, you can head back to the development section and try out Revelation Rom or Zeus Rom (both great and up to date Roms)
Last but not least, the "thanks" button is a good way to show your appreciation for ppl that have helped you out, it's down there VVVV
Sorry...did not mean to post that. Was going to write up a long post then had to take my son to the bathroom. Thought I backed out....posted instead.
I think it was covered in the post below mine.
My advice...read, read, read. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Just best to do so in the Q&A. And try all the roms out. All are supported by great developers. Try them all...then find a home.

try this man
Try this bible link below for the infused. worked perfectly for me.

I want to get started developing for the Shift, any devs out there wanna point me in the right direction as to where I should start? Preferably some Shift specific guides, if there are any... I am not a noob, I have a pretty good knowledge of the Android system.

Well not sure what your going for. Do you mean Roms, Mods, Themes, Hacks .... . There's a lot of stuff out there that still hasn't been done or can be tweaked. You just have to pick something, and dive in. But if you can let us know which direction your leaning toward. it would help in pointing you in the right direction. HERE is always a good place to start .

ROMs and porting mostly... I didn't know if you needed to start in one place
You can start with learning dsixda's Android Kitchen. Then check out THIS thread. After that you can check HERE thread. Also you may want to choose an APK editor. Keep in mind that nothing usually goes as planned when Building / Porting a Rom. So I guess one of the biggest things you need when doing a Rom, Mod, or Hack is the ability to work patiently. Plus staying motivated is a big thing. Cause it can get Ugly sometimes . Lastly read, read, and read some more. Ask a ton of questions whenever you can. Hope that helps .
Hello fellow xda members, I am some one new to this forum. As I have been with sprint for the last few years. I am not a spring chicken at this. I have owned a touch pro TP2,epic 4g and a Gnex. So I kinda love the best of both worldsTouch wiz and jellybean. i have been running jellywiz Love the rom but i wanted to try something newer. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a rom that has quiet hours in some form and touchwiz. Besides the older build of jellywiz it would be very appreciated.

thanks a lot man. i'm sure they will. It's been a long time for me. Posting anything but a thank you. or just buying someone a cup of coffee .
I don't know if this has been asked, I could find 2 threads on XDA about this topic. That's about it. I just would like to know if its possible, I'm no Main line developer, Just some knowledge on how I would start would be greatly appreciated! I have built a few ROMS. I know how to use gerrit, and all that other good stuff! Just, I don't know where to begin in porting sense? I honestly would love to see sense on our Skyrocket! I'd love to be apart of the porting process to, and maintaining it! I just need a push in the right direction..
I've searched, and found some threads. Just non of them really answered all my questions. My big question is, how would I start porting Sense? I mean, I've built a few ROMs, Cherrie picked some fixes and wrote some code in my day. I'm no rookie, But I'm also not a great WINARD.. yet. I'm just hoping maybe someone can point me to a thread, or give me some advise on how to start porting Sense 6? Where I should start, I know its difficult. I would love to give it a try still, If anyone could give a old kid some advise. It would be appreciated!
