[Q] Porting Sense 6? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I don't know if this has been asked, I could find 2 threads on XDA about this topic. That's about it. I just would like to know if its possible, I'm no Main line developer, Just some knowledge on how I would start would be greatly appreciated! I have built a few ROMS. I know how to use gerrit, and all that other good stuff! Just, I don't know where to begin in porting sense? I honestly would love to see sense on our Skyrocket! I'd love to be apart of the porting process to, and maintaining it! I just need a push in the right direction..

Well.. get yourself a pizza, some coffee, a night to spend and start making own.
Of course, this WOULD be great, but somebody has to do it. Why not you?
Your thread is only contributing to the unorganization. I agree with the guy above, make your own! I made my own, with bookmarks.
This is when i ask why ANYTHING other than ROMs are in this section of the forum since its development...
Figured crap like this would go in GENERAL section or something. Same with all the people asking for help and why apps dont work...

[Q] Can someone point me in the right direction?

I Just rooted my skyrocket. All is well, but I am looking for a pure google ROM (one without touchwiz!!!!!) lol. I love the galaxies phone but hate the overlay! I love Sense or pure goolge. I know it is early for the skyrocket and everyone is busy putting there own touches on there ROMs. If anyone can point me in the right direction. Please
Just hit F5 on the Skyrocket Android Development forum, or try and make one yourself! You could start with like BoneStocketeer and try to remove the stuff you don't like maybe...
Good luck. Sorry for the somewhat useless response but I don't think there's an easy flashable ROM for you or else it'd already be on these forums.

Where to start...

I want to get started developing for the Shift, any devs out there wanna point me in the right direction as to where I should start? Preferably some Shift specific guides, if there are any... I am not a noob, I have a pretty good knowledge of the Android system.

Well not sure what your going for. Do you mean Roms, Mods, Themes, Hacks .... . There's a lot of stuff out there that still hasn't been done or can be tweaked. You just have to pick something, and dive in. But if you can let us know which direction your leaning toward. it would help in pointing you in the right direction. HERE is always a good place to start .

ROMs and porting mostly... I didn't know if you needed to start in one place
You can start with learning dsixda's Android Kitchen. Then check out THIS thread. After that you can check HERE thread. Also you may want to choose an APK editor. Keep in mind that nothing usually goes as planned when Building / Porting a Rom. So I guess one of the biggest things you need when doing a Rom, Mod, or Hack is the ability to work patiently. Plus staying motivated is a big thing. Cause it can get Ugly sometimes . Lastly read, read, and read some more. Ask a ton of questions whenever you can. Hope that helps .

Everybody's rom

I AM NOT A DEV, I'M JUST THROWING THIS IDEA ACROSS!
So I was reading in the Evo4gLTE forums and I saw this super awesome thread. Inside it, I found an idea that could seriously come out to be awesome.
Thread is linked here for those who want to know.
The best part? ANYBODY can join! Anybody can help make the rom better!
What I want to suggest is that we have something similar here, for the sensation! Our device may be "old"(not really), but it will never be dead. A community rom would definitely be great, and it would also spur development. The developers won't even need to have the device, since we'll have so many testers they can do the testing.
What say you, sensation forum? Should we start a community rom?
What kind of rom should it be? Sense? Aosp? Boot2Geckgo? WM6.5?(Just kidding, don't even think about it)
How would we go about this project? Cloud storage is a must, and IRC chat rooms are useful, but it won't be easy.
I thought this would be a great idea. Guess nobody else does.

Push towards porting Sense 6!

I've searched, and found some threads. Just non of them really answered all my questions. My big question is, how would I start porting Sense? I mean, I've built a few ROMs, Cherrie picked some fixes and wrote some code in my day. I'm no rookie, But I'm also not a great WINARD.. yet. I'm just hoping maybe someone can point me to a thread, or give me some advise on how to start porting Sense 6? Where I should start, I know its difficult. I would love to give it a try still, If anyone could give a old kid some advise. It would be appreciated!
