No charging indicator - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

With android 2.3.4 I have lost charging notice that appears when you plug it on charge. It stopped turn the screen on when you plug it to charge.
Now with android 4 my phones little battery icon on top does not indicate that it is charging.
It charges fine but no indicator. When I go to battery setting in settings it shows as charging.
Does any one got similar issues?
I must add that my chargers male part that goes in to phone is a little bit bent.

Question about cigarette lighter charging

I have the HTC car dock with works perfectly, charging my phone up nicely even while the display is on and GPS is in use. Meanwhile my wife's phone in her car dock (also using the HTC cigarette lighter adapter) won't charge. The charging light comes on, but battery power still drops, When viewing battery state charts in GSam Battery, the only change to the steady downward trend is that it turns green when on that charger. It doesn't even slow charge loss when plugged in vs not. I've noticed the same thing when I use a different 1.0 amp rated cigarette lighter adapter for my phone.
My first thought is that the phone isn't recognizing the charger as being capable of a full charge and is just taking a slow charge that isn't enough to even slow the discharge. I found this thread which even though the pics are broken is easy enough to follow to make a charge-only cable. Has anybody done this mod and successfully fixed similar charging issues?

[Q] Nokia Wireless charger continues charging after battery is full

I bought a Nokia wireless charger from ATT online store.
It works on my nexus 5, but when the phone is full charged the LED light on the charger is still solid on (on means charging, and blinking means done). However I go to Setting->battery, and it shows battery is full.
My question is which one is right?
-Wireless charger is still charging the phone.
-The system shows battery is full, so the phone won't be charged. But since the charger is Nokia, so it doesn't know my Nexus 5 battery is full.
Thanks in advance
I believe there phone will stop charging the battery buy the charger won't know so it'll keep going. The phone has the circuitry to prevent damage to the phone.

I purchased (2) tylt wireless chargers from kickstarter a while back and I planned to keep the N5 cradled most of the time.
Unfortunately while the chargers work great they also heat the battery to 110 F while charging as compared to around 80 F with a straight USB charger. I'm afraid this heat will eventually kill the battery. Since the battery isn't easily replaceable I've decided to abandon the wireless chargers.
The batteries and the whole device stays hot after its charged and until I pull it off the charger. I didn't notice whether the charge light actually went out on the charger itself after the charge was completed. If I'm brave or (dumb) enough to try it again I'll report back.
Anyone having better luck with the stock wireless charger or other wireless chargers like the Nokia?
I purchased the same Nokia wireless charging pad, and, despite the LED not turning off on the pad, the battery DOES stop charging once it is full.
This can be observed through a battery monitoring app like Battery Widget Reborn. If you look at the battery graph at any point after the battery hits 100%, and before you remove it from the charging pad, you'll notice an even 2 or 3 percent drop and rise at regular intervals. This is the trickle charge mechanism. Once the battery is full, it stops charging, Once the battery drops down to a certain percentage, the charge resumes, and the cycle repeats itself until you take the phone off of the charging pad.
Same here with another brand on wireless charging pad, I think it's normal

Are you not concern with premature battery wear considering now it's not user replaceable? Heat is supposedly not good for battery life.

[Q] Wont charge when plugged in

Hello.
I have a new Moto g 4g and sometimes when I plug it into the mains to charge the charging battery icon appears and the phone says charging on the lock screen. But as soon as the % number should go up (i.e. after a couple of mins on charge), the battery charge icon is still there but the phone no longer says charging on the lock screen, and it doesn't charge no matter how long it is plugged in for (although the battery doesnt drain either).
I turned the phone off and plugged it in and when it got to the charge screen it kept flicking between a question mark, and the percentage charged amount.
It seems to always charge fine when I plug it into a USB on my computer (although slowly).
Has anyone else seen this? Is it worth completly draining the battery and charging from flat, or would this do more harm than good?
Thanks for the help.

Galaxy A5 is not charging, charging logo blinks while switch off charging

few days ago, my phone stopped charging, then i switch off charging logo starts blinking but no battery percentage was showing. but i kept the phone plugged in, maybe after 30 mins it started showing percentage, i turned on my phone and plug the charger again to check if it is fine, then i showed the charging icon and started charging slowly. but i discover that when i unplug charger , charging icon was still there. i keep using my phone for 2-3 days, shown no problem but the charging icon always on even without charger, i tried other charger and also check usb cable by connecting to a computer. after 2-3 days suddenly everything is fine. no issues for next 2-3 days, then the charging icon and slow charging came back as i fall sleep at night keeping my charger on. but this time when i plug charger, no charge icon, i switch of, usb charge logo start blinking after every 10-12 seconds without battery percentages, i kept the charger on, when i turn on phone, it was charged, battery was fine, but still when i plug charger no sign , but when i switch off it starts blinking , it,s been going on for days. and i,m concerned. Is this hardware issues or is it software... i want to go for repair but i am not sure how should i address the problem to them

Try a battery replacement.

Battery Not Charging

Been having some issue with my Xperia 5 II with wall outlets. Phone does not charge with wall outlet and portable battery. Tried different wires but does not charge. I did notice that when I plug the phone to the wall outlet the phone detects it cause I feel it vibrate but just doesn't charge. However it does charge with the same wires to a computer.
Anyone having this issue or have any solutions?
My phone was dead one morning and when I plugged it in I got a vibration but the LED light that indicates charging did not light. I tried everything and as last resort I went to the manual. It said that if you drain the battery when you start charging it gives no visible clue, none, until it hits around 15%. That was true. I plugged it in and read a book and eventually the red LED came on and the phone charged and all has been well.

before this happen when i charge my phone either below or above 15% it shows the charging icon on the battery and the red LED. And like I mention plug in to charge on the computer under 15% i see the LED on and charge icon on the battery. Nonetheless i will try your method and try plugging it in under 15% to see if it charges.
Tried charging the phone at 0% and also inbetween 0% and 15% still not charging. The only way for it charge now is on a fast charger sony usb c cable.
