I'm at like 70% battery and 25% of what's gone after 6 hours is the display, having only been on for 25 minutes total? One fifteenth of the uptime accounts for 25% of the battery loss. That makes no sense...
Is there a good way to reduce battery usage by the display? I'm running at what looks to be about 10-15% brightness, not automatic...

You're on target to get an hour of screen on time, but 24 hours total charge time. You just need to use your phone more It's probably not deep sleeping properly. Try signing out of Latitude and anything else that will wake your phone randomly... email, or facebook updating, etc. Disable background data, maybe root and setcpu and underclock/ undervolt
I came to this phone from an Epic 4g thouch, and the battery life is literally half of the 4G tocuh... kinda sucks. I blame LTE.

I'm not complaining about the battery life as a whole. That's not too bad at all, I'm more confused as to how that much screen time really constitutes the majority of my battery use after 6 hours...

Im in just about the same boat actually, 78% remaining, 36 min screen on time which is 78% of my battery use. 5 hr 9 min

Well thats actually a good thing. The more screen time takes of battery, that means everything else is using less. On the 4g touch some people have 30-40% android system useage and their phone is getting like 7 hours out of a whole charge. You want display high, because when it's on, everyhting is working. Everything else should be sleeping when the screen is off.

did you bump charge? I go down to 99 within a minute and 97 after usually 30 minutes with light usage after charging overnight. Of course the chargers don't keep the battery at 100% because that would damage the battery

I don't overnight charge...Once my phone hits 100 I unplug it and I'm down to 99 very soon after and down to 90 pretty soon as well
Right now I'm at 88% after ~4.5hrs unplugged, including about 30 minutes of streaming Top Gear over wifi.
I'm pleasantly surprised.
I'm having mixed results with battery life. Really good standby time at home, but not so great at work. I work in a low signal building. 1 bar LTE and 2 Bar 3G, but the 3G's data doesn't seem to work on any of my phones. I lose about 40% in the 6 hours that I am there. I guess the aluminum isn't so great in low signal situations?

Terrible Battery Life on Comparison to Others. Suggestions?.

WTF is going on with my battery? I have the S7 Flat snapdragon version (G930v) running the G930u software unrooted which removes all carrier bloat. Screen brightness is set to a little past half way. I have all setting provided by stock software optimized for maximum battery life other than running AOD. I am running a black Wallpaper/Lockscreen/ and an All black theme from the Theme Engine.. Wth hell is going on here. My battery time is looking Rediculous in comparison. Someone help me out here.

I feel asleep around 3am I guess with 89% and woke up just now close to 11. Heres battery over that 8hr period. 5% during that time. Standby drain is not bad it seems. But only 10hrs on 100% is crazy low compared to what some of you guys are getting.
End of Trial:
What can I do to get this increased.?

Is the same problem present with the phones original firmware? What you call bloat may very well be needed adaptions.
Urs is mutch better the what i get, mine drains 40% over night ..
My battery today.

Aod off.

Battery taking a turn for the worse?

When I first got my Note 20 Ultra (Aug of last year) the battery was amazing. Now within the last 2 months is horrible. My phone shows a full charge will last 11 hours and 51m. Just today I was out and about, unplugged at 11am est and by 4pm I was at 41%.
Not sure what has changed. Though Facebook is showing around 10-20% battery usage over the last 7 days which is odd since I'm not using it that much.
Ditch FB* and any social media that's loaded as an app... crapware.
Clear system cache.
Disable all power management.
Now see what's using the battery and if it's appropriate. Go from there.
Install Accubattery to track battery use history.
A well optimized Note should about 7-14%@hr SOT, less than 1%@hr with AOD in tap on mode at night.
After doing all this reevaluate if it's a weak battery or just excessive power usage.
*yeah I know you can't send any FB messages if the app isn't installed... ditch this malware. It's malware by design not coincidence. FB is a menace... learn or get burned.
This is my N10+, the N20U may use slightly more due to variable refresh rate and 5G but should be similar.

I figure a on heavily used Note that's fast charged the battery will last 1-2 years.
My last N10+ battery failed around the 1.5 year mark. I'll probably replace now at 1 year intervals.

Question Battery Life

I am interested in this battery performance? What SOT are you getting? What do you get for battery time the medium power saver mode?
Any screen shots are appreciated.
It's on Friday and I feel like the first 48 hours it was draining pretty quick. I upgraded from the OnePlus 6t and I certainly feel the slower charge.
Waiting for it to fully discharge and then I'm going to give it a full charge and then I will post my battery stats after seeing how long it lasts.
Full charge before bed last night .. and I drove around a bit today with it plugged in for about 30 minutes. Going to bed now at around 50%. Not going to charge until tomorrow.

I am still trying to figure out if I have a battery drain issue. I am getting the same usage as what I did as my A70. After full charge it says it will last around 22 hours. Usage is the same as with my A70, not sure if that is right.

Standby uses about 1% for every two hours for me with Always On Display. That is always my benchmark even for my last Samsung. There's something using battery wildly if it goes too high after some many hours or even within one hour.
A hint there, try rebooting 3 times in an hour or so. My last Samsung had an issue where normally one reboot would fix the battery drain but it would every now and then require two more to fix the drain.
The battery use stats might help you narrow down to something but if not then you have to factory reset or disable or remove stuff. If its with the rom then it gets more difficult.
If you are seeing the 1% standby for even an hour or two then it should be fine there and the drain is only while the screen is on.
You might also be able to spot certain things the the logcat.
Thank you for your reply. I will try to reboot it. I have done a factory reset but it hasn't helped. I will test it for a few days.
I have 9hours Screen On Time on a pixel experience rom.
AOSP does wonders to this device.

You never know. Funny how much reboots fix things that shouldn't need fixing in the first place

Question How hot does the phone get?

On my current phone I've got good battery life through keeping the phone cool. I've head that the Pixel 7 Pro could get hot easily.
How hot does the phone get during normal operations like:
Lots of browsing
Android Auto
Charging
Camera use
Hot, just not as hot as a Pixel 6 Pro.
Not hot at all
This will help i suspect.

Always cool except one time when the youtube app that I I forgot to disable went all crazy. Disabled it (like most apps that came with the p7p) and all is good ever since with outstanding battery life.
Mine was a steady 40c yesterday using mobile data whilst travelling (which i would consider hot), sat here doing nowt it is 26.5c.

This is the answer. ^
If you're not on mobile data, it's generally going to be cool unless you're gaming, but LTE and especially 5G will warm it up very quickly due to the inefficient modem.
It depends on many factors. But it tends to get hot even under "subtle" usage while on Mobile Data. In my case, anywhere between 38-44C on the battery (ambient 21-23c). Skin temperature is higher, always higher by a few celsius degrees compared to battery temp.
And of course we need to take in to account where you are and how hot the ambient temperature is, last summer when we were hitting over 40C in the UK my Pixel 6 Pro was giving overheat warnings even when it was idling. That heat was very unusual for the UK but absolutely normal for some counties for months and months.
Obviously the P7P wasn't out then but it definitely runs cooler than phones with the original Tensor.

Sounds about the same for me, about 70-80F ambient 21c-26c ish, goes up to about 100F or so. Its especially noticeable during data/wifi and charging. Temp goes down after battery is maxed out though.
P7P heats up during normal usage and heats up more with 5G.
With game on, after 15 mins it's too hot. Need rest for 15-20 mins for next usage.
With 1080 resolution battery life is bit better compared to 1440.
