Question Battery Life - Samsung Galaxy A53 5G

I am interested in this battery performance? What SOT are you getting? What do you get for battery time the medium power saver mode?
Any screen shots are appreciated.

It's on Friday and I feel like the first 48 hours it was draining pretty quick. I upgraded from the OnePlus 6t and I certainly feel the slower charge.
Waiting for it to fully discharge and then I'm going to give it a full charge and then I will post my battery stats after seeing how long it lasts.

Full charge before bed last night .. and I drove around a bit today with it plugged in for about 30 minutes. Going to bed now at around 50%. Not going to charge until tomorrow.

I am still trying to figure out if I have a battery drain issue. I am getting the same usage as what I did as my A70. After full charge it says it will last around 22 hours. Usage is the same as with my A70, not sure if that is right.

Standby uses about 1% for every two hours for me with Always On Display. That is always my benchmark even for my last Samsung. There's something using battery wildly if it goes too high after some many hours or even within one hour.
A hint there, try rebooting 3 times in an hour or so. My last Samsung had an issue where normally one reboot would fix the battery drain but it would every now and then require two more to fix the drain.
The battery use stats might help you narrow down to something but if not then you have to factory reset or disable or remove stuff. If its with the rom then it gets more difficult.
If you are seeing the 1% standby for even an hour or two then it should be fine there and the drain is only while the screen is on.
You might also be able to spot certain things the the logcat.

Thank you for your reply. I will try to reboot it. I have done a factory reset but it hasn't helped. I will test it for a few days.

I have 9hours Screen On Time on a pixel experience rom.
AOSP does wonders to this device.

You never know. Funny how much reboots fix things that shouldn't need fixing in the first place

Okay...?
The majority of the people here have rooted.
It won't help. I have deleted the batterystats on mine phone more than 20 times in the last 3 days and there is no change nor hope!
Let me rephrase by saying your ROOTED phones battery stats might be lying to you.
And for the guy who tried it three times and failed. I don't think you took the time for fully discharging the phone. That's right I'm calling BS.
Anyway got to go my battery just dropped 30%
Just wanted to let you guys know that this is completely true in my case. The other night around 2am I went to sleep with the battery around 68%. When I woke up 4hours later for work my phone was turned off. I then plugged it in and my battery was at 0%.
I was on the perfect storm Rom. I then switched to das bamf. Still happens. Tried bump charging and 0-100 charging and its helped but when I reboot the phone the battery shows about 7% less then where it was.

I think that is thy the stock battery icons don't show an exact %, b/c they haven't been able to make it work right. Don't worry though i believe that the devs will get it before HTC.
Ok my battery was just now at 50%. I restarted and now showing 41%. I don't know what's going on.

As I said, you can charge and discharge all day long, it won't help!
Thank you for reposting this. So sick and tired of people complaining about dropping 10% in a few minutes after a full charge.

I think this is a glitch. It drops like crazy after restart but then stays there until it "catches up" I guess.

So far,I have only rooted my phone, not a custom rom. I either have a crappy battery life, which seems better when I shut 4g down, or there is a glitch on the metering. My .02 worth.

Battery getting destroyed lately... ideas?

Starting last night, my battery is getting destroyed when the phone is not in use. I haven't installed anything new, apps included. Running Cleanrom 4.5 DE.

Nothing coming up on BBS. That drop was when I was sleeping. Looks like a 25% drop in the span of minutes. Same thing happened today. Went from fully charged to 90% to 59% in an hour or so of no use. And from the looks of battery usage, it was pretty much just Wifi, Network and screen. Nothing else.
Not sure what is going on really.
something is holding a wakelock during that time, at least that's what I gathered from the picture.

Oddly, the highest wakelock was 5minutes. Didn't have any severe wakelocks. Not sure what exactly would cause a 25-30% drop.
Whole thread on this that I have been apart of. The OP actually has two issues but his second one if this issue and the one that is mostly covered in the thread. Only happens at night. Can't figure out what is causing it. I let AT&T know but they haven't gotten back to me. HTC tried to blame it on facebook. Seems like a handful of people are noticing it. Most wouldn't because they charge their phone at night.

Went through the thread, seems similar but less extreme drop for me. I'm in Queens, NY.
Today my phone is fine... And Friday I had close to 24 hours on battery with around 3 hours screen time and 35% left.
The drop last night was from using the phone, not idle.

Battery draining 50 to 5% in 10 mins

I've had my S7 (SM-G930W8) since Jan of last year so it's just passed the warranty period and my battery lasts less than 6-7 hours. It'll literally drop from 50-60% down to 5% in 10 minutes. I'll literally have it in my pocket, take it out to check the time or something and it'll be at 50%, then a few minutes later check it again and it's down to 5%.
I don't keep it plugged in after its finished charging, I use the original charger with a new USB cable. I close apps after I'm done using them. I keep Bluetooth/Nfc off and use only 4G.
I'm pretty sure the battery is dying but on the off chance it's not I thought I'd post here to see if there's some other solution. A couple weeks ago I even let the battery discharge a couple times until it shut off and turned it back on after it hit 100%

Have you tried battery recalibration? Also just order a battery off of eBay for 15 or 20 bucks n throw it in yourself. No big deal. Just don't mess with your screen, they aren't very tough.

Yes as I stated in the original post, I let my phone discharge until it shut itself off and then charged it to 100%, which is how you recalibrate the battery. This has had no effect and the battery will still drop in a very short time.
I also have a cracked screen so replacing the battery would be a difficult task to accomplish without further cracking the screen. Not to mention those $15 batteries on eBay or even Amazon are likely knockoffs and will cause even more problems.

S6 Battery - Accubattery - How is this even possible???

Okay so I have this phone for over 3 years now as my daily phone and the battery started deteriorating fast, up to where I will only get between 1h - 2h SOT (phone was always on stock firmware and not rooted).
So yesterday I flashed Noble Nougat Rom 5.1 with Kiboi kernel.
This morning I installed all apps again and after the battery died, I plugged it in with Accubattery running.
As I write this, Accubattery says 2724mah has been charged in 1h50min and it is 90% charged. Will post a screenshot of fully charged stats.
Battery design capacity is only 2550mah. Is it possible that Samsung limits the phone not to use full capacity of battery and Kibio kernel "opens up" the bottleneck? Are the stats wrong? Does Kiboi kernel mess up charging current recognised by Accubattery? Whatever is happening is beyond my understanding and reasoning.
I ordered a S7 batter to replace the "bad" stock battery, but now the stock battery looks not so bad after all. The proof is in the pudding, however. Will see how this charge holds up and let you know.
Screenshots
Had to unplug phone at 94% to take a call. Screenshots below.

Could be a bug.
Or maybe someone put an S7 Edge battery in your phone before you got it.

Between those 2 options, I'd say it is a bug, because I bought this phone new, unless Samsung put it in there for me.
Okay so I resolved that it is some kind of bug causing Accubattery not to be accurate. After 18h light use I only managed to get 2h30 SOT of this charge. Battery still sucks so now waiting for S7 battery to arrive.
2nd Charge did much better, 3h45 SOT. It felt like the battery will never die (i want to have 2 - 3 full charge/discharge cycles with new rom and kernel).
I think the new rom and kernel is a good match for the battery because I notice a significant change. Usually the battery dropped about 3 - 5% and hour while in standby, now the drop is down to about 1% per hour.
For all of you struggling with poor battery life, I suggest to flash Noble Nougat Experience 5.1 with Kiboi kernel.

Battery taking a turn for the worse?

When I first got my Note 20 Ultra (Aug of last year) the battery was amazing. Now within the last 2 months is horrible. My phone shows a full charge will last 11 hours and 51m. Just today I was out and about, unplugged at 11am est and by 4pm I was at 41%.
Not sure what has changed. Though Facebook is showing around 10-20% battery usage over the last 7 days which is odd since I'm not using it that much.
Ditch FB* and any social media that's loaded as an app... crapware.
Clear system cache.
Disable all power management.
Now see what's using the battery and if it's appropriate. Go from there.
Install Accubattery to track battery use history.
A well optimized Note should about 7-14%@hr SOT, less than 1%@hr with AOD in tap on mode at night.
After doing all this reevaluate if it's a weak battery or just excessive power usage.
*yeah I know you can't send any FB messages if the app isn't installed... ditch this malware. It's malware by design not coincidence. FB is a menace... learn or get burned.
This is my N10+, the N20U may use slightly more due to variable refresh rate and 5G but should be similar.

I figure a on heavily used Note that's fast charged the battery will last 1-2 years.
My last N10+ battery failed around the 1.5 year mark. I'll probably replace now at 1 year intervals.
