I am a beginner
i want to run cyanogenmod 7 on my samsung galaxy fit
if i had any problem regarding cm7 after installation can i reinstall official stock rom again on my device or we cannot install official rom again?

Did you do a nandroid backup of your Stock ROM before installing CM7?

after installing cyanogenmod roms we can only upgrade our phone to cm roms or we can upgrade to any official firmwares?

get a good sd card and backup custom rom first before you attempt changing the rom.

[Q] Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D Koodo "network" problem cyanogen 7.1 kang

Hello... I am a new ( noob ) in THE XDA forum. So if I do a things that I'm not supposed to do, told it to me. ( I speak french so I will do my best I can )
Now the real things:
- I flash my GT-S5830"D" to cyanogen 7,1 ; 9, official, unofficial... What ever, with no * succes. (I dont now if the "D" is important)
The wifi always crash ( need to close and re-open it ), my ACE wont receive SMS or share it "sometimes" and the DEL brightness always change ( the screen become black and after it come like normal )
- I'm with Koodo ( TELUS ). I think that Koodo are the problem, because they make our Android OS and bla bla.
- If you cant help me for CyanogenMod, try to restore of my first OS.
-->I backup it with CWM 5, but it wont install it correctly. ( boot logo stay on the "Galaxy ACE bla bla..." )

P.S. if you help me and it work, I will work to help programing Galaxy ACE! I promise.

try restoring it via CWM recovery.. if no success try flashing via odin.. hope it helped

Thanks for the anwser... I flash my Galaxy with Odin, but the same problem start! I take an official firmware of a galaxy Ace 2.3.4, so I don't understand why!?
CWM... The first time I install CWM I do a backup. But when I was trying to flash cyanogenmod I do a bad thing and I restore with no problem... Now the phone ( when I try to restore ) do a boot loop ( I think ) on the Galaxy Ace... But I can restore cyanogenmod!
So help me please

Yes I've try full or not with Odin and the firmwares install with no problem. It is when I open the phone problem start. I can rarely share a SMS or receive.
So I'm relly thinking that a need a special Koodo firmware or a developper who can create me a special firmware.

Okay,
First thing, CM7 will work with your Ace.
Second thing, you cannot use CWM to restore a backup of a stock ROM.
Third thing, check your APN settings. You are going to need to manually create a Sp.koodo.com APN with all the settings detailed inside.
Did you have any problems flashing?

Hi,
no I have no problem for flashing ( I think )... So I cannot flash my stock ROM with CWM? So how I can flash my stock ROM?
( a guy of Koodo told to me that the installing, unstalling, installing,... broke the motherboard. Does it's real? )

Yes you cannot flash your stock ROM with CWM, flash it with odin instead.
About installing-uninstalling thing nope it will not break your motherboard and it has nothing to do with it

Just flash a different ROM via CWM 4 or 5. My favorite is the Myth, it's based on stock with a couple of nice performance mods. It works great on the Ace.
PS. Don't listen to Koodo, they don't know what they are talking about...

XD Koodo... So I flash The ROM you told and it seem to work... But today I reflash it because again it was laging. But I think it is a Koodo service problem. Thanks... If you have other firmware better than TheMyth, I will try it.

You may try flasing tj_droid Stocklite v6.. based on the latest firmware DDKQ8, Pure stock bareboned + Scripts - will definitely makes your phone smooth..

Just follow the simple instructions
Remember to adhere strictly to the instructions otherwise u can get into problem
After installing u will not see your messages..so in that thread some files like <All System Apps> are given..unzip them and put on ur SD..
then using any Root explorer paste those files (like mms.apk for messaging service) in /system/apps
Thats all...u will see a great ROM...extremely fast with ICS layouts..

Ok my problem seem to be resolved... On the internet I finally found a Koodo 2.3.4 galaxy ace firmware to flash with ODIN. So I flash it, but I reinstall CM 7.2.0 FAT KANG and it seem to work now!! But Cyanogen doesn't detect Koodo carrier, it just detect Rogers, Telus (Telus=Koodo) and an other like 3016...

To answer your question or anyone else's, you'll have to change the CSC to Telus/Koodo. But first make sure you're on a full-package DTLKI4 firmware
First, write down your IMEI that you find in About Phone > Status
Then go into your phone dialer and punch in *#272*your imei#
You'll have a list of CSC codes to choose from, and hopefully TLS/KDO will be on there.
Changing your csc WILL do a complete factory reset on your phone, so be prepared to do that.

Can you please share your experience on how to get CyanogenMod onto an Ace Koodo phone ? I am confused reading bits and pieces of instructions , sometime diffcult to link up all together from a time line perspective.

[Q] Damaged S3? S4 Revolution v11 ROM

I have been trying some new ROMs on my I9300. During the process I installed the S4 Revolution ROM V11 Beta 2. The ROM works but is quite buggy and slow so I decided to flash it back to Omnirom. However since then I get no network connection for internet or calls. I get the same with the stock firmware also. If I reflash the S4 Revolution ROM I only get network access if i select to install the "XXEMG4 Modem" on setup.
I have tried wiping cache, formatting partition and reinstalling other ROMs but still no luck getting the network back - Only on S4 Rev ROM.
Is anyone able to offer some insight in to this?

In my opinion, I would drop S4 Revolution ROM and make the move to Sac's Custom ROM. It is the most stable ROM that I have flashed. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2512983

Disregard url. Thats was for Sac's Custom Rom for the S4. However, there is a version for the S3.

make a nandroid from recovery just in case
the flash the newest version of the rom without wipe

I always wiped cache +dalvik after having flashed the new zip file. You shouldnt lose your settings, you might need to do a full wipe at some point if you're starting to experience problems though. Didn't have to do that myself, yet, but I (and you will at that point as well) might have to look into getting something like titanium backup then.

Does it come with the LG Backup app? Does the stock LG launcher work?

LG backup is included, as is stock launcher but launcher won't open due I believe to non-standard DPI

lg launcher also works..and dpi seems to be stock..

Yes you are correct, Home launcher does work and DPI is set to 480

Hi. Flashed this rom yesterday and working perfect. It is as snappy as V10f on ART. The only problem is the native email client won't charge any emails... I can configure all the accounts but the emails won't load.
Aside of this, everything is working flawlessly

D838 Freezing sometimes
After installing Drake v1 my phone was working fine until yesterday when it froze thrice. And what freaked me out was when i woke up in the morning it was switched off and wouldn't turn on even when i plugged in a charger. But after sometime when i plugged it to my laptop it turned on. Any ideas why this happened? Keeping in mind i did everything as mentioned.

I flash my G pro 2 (16G) to Drake Android 5.0.1 V1. It works OK, due to some reasons, I would like to get back to stock ROM. But, no matter how hard I tried to use KDZ way to flash back to stock ROM, it always says "No upgrad items to fix."
Can anyone assist me to flash back to stock ROM again?

Good work done and i can guess that this rom was taken from future v3.0 but its good u edit for good but its only for d838 but can b installed on f350 variant.. but come to actual point that i m having same issue as i had with future v3.0 that i can't send ams to anybody.. do u have any solution to that?? After installing this u will get cross error on flash tool while going back to stock but i managed to come back to stock and at the moment i m at stock f350k as sms problrm is prevailing in ur rom for me..
