[ROM][2.3.7]Compiled CM7 for Infuse - Nightly Builds - Samsung Infuse 4G

UDATE: Uberamd has a nightly build system up now. Read on for the link to it!
Since uberamd stopped updating his semi-nightly builds of CyanogenMod 7 for Infuse back in November, I kind of took it upon myself to post updates to his thread. Well, it's up to 82 pages and it's getting pretty cluttered. As such, here's a new thread that I'll keep updated with CM7 builds for Infuse.
Now, the most important thing I want everybody to remember is that LinuxBozo is the man when it comes to CM7 for the Infuse. Uberamd is the man behind the nightly compiles and build system. Credit for development should go to them and other Infuse developers, as well as to the CyanogenMod developers.
I've been using CM7 on my phone for months now, and I can say that it's completely worthy of being a daily driver for me. The only thing that doesn't work fully is Bluetooth, and since that's mostly just the audio stuff (which I don't use anyway), I consider this to be a complete ROM. Your mileage and needs will, of course, vary. Having said that, keep in mind this is NOT an official CM7 build.
Directions for flashing (shamelessly copied from uberamd's post):
Ensure you have both root and CWM. See the reference post if you do not have both of these.
Copy ROM .ZIP to SD card
Shut phone off. Hold Vol Up + Vol Down and Power on device
Wipe Data and Cache (Wiping data will remove your installed applications and settings. You have been warned!)
Flash CM7 zip
Reboot. You will get stuck at Samsung screen. This is normal.
Pull battery, and reboot into recovery (Hold: VOL+ VOL- Power)
You should now be in ORANGE -OR- BLUE CWM
Go to "mounts and storage"
Select format /system
Reflash CM7 zip
Don't forget Google Apps as well. You can get the gapps easily using Rom Manger -> Download ROM -> Scroll down to Google Apps). Google Apps download link is also at the bottom of this post
Reboot into CM7 goodness, made possible by LinuxBozo
Please remember that I am only compiling and uploading this ROM. For changes to CyanogenMod, view the changelog or LinuxBozo's CM7 source post. PLEASE search that thread and this one before posting. There are a great many questions and answers at both places, and odds are your question has already been answered. Searching is your friend, and your responsibility!
Every time you flash an update, you will have to flash Google Apps. I recommend keeping this on your SD card at all times so you can just flash it after you flash an update.
Nightly Builds: http://stevemorrissey.com/android/roms/infuse4g/CM7/
Google Apps: http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
Google Apps Mirror: http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
SD Card Settings:
By default CM7 will mount your internal SD card as /emmc and the external SD card as /mnt/sdcard. Since this is not how any other ROM works, and since it's probably not the preferred behavior, you will likely want to change this. You do so by going into the CyanogenMod settings under Application and checking the "Use internal storage" box.
Single APN Settings:
I got this from a thread in general a while back, and it's always worked perfectly for me. This will keep your data connection from bouncing in and out and will also allow you to get MMS.

Open Phone Dialer
Dial: *#*#4636#*#*
Press Phone Information
Hit Menu
Choose Select Radio Band
Choose USA Band
Turn on Airplane Mode for about 20 seconds and then turn it off
Please let me know if there's anything you think I missed in this post. I'll be keeping it updated and I want it to have the most relevant and useful information possible.

The only problem I am still having is data dropout when opening the market. The market has been updated to the most current one.
I cant find the specific post about how to do an apn fix, but if anyone can either link me to that or instruct me on how to fix that it would be greatly appreciated because I love this rom.
thanks

I modestly undervolt my phone, and I have fantastic battery life. That's always been the case with CM on my phones. Consistently better than anything else I've tried, and I've tried lots (as I'm sure anybody here can imagine!)

Well, Polish is in the list. I know there was a ton of translation work done in the CM7 tree last week. I guess try it and see!

Camera quality?
The camera does not seem to look as good when taking pictures as compared to MUIU or other roms

I love how fast the ROM seems to be, but I keep getting force closes all over the place.
Any possible fixes?

Do a fix permissions through CWM yet? Did you restore anything other than apps with Titanium Backup or anything? I know that's been known to cause problems in other CM builds.

Did you backup/restore your apps with TiBu? You have to be careful how you restore them or you will get FC's.

I just followed the instructions in the first post word for word. Didn't clear dalvik or anything like that.
Should I re-flash?

Hmm. After I flashed most of my apps were still on my phone. Now that I check, I'm getting FCs on almost all of them.
How do I just wipe the slate clean? Load CM7 onto a fresh system?

[Q] Small MMS on TMOUS issue in ICS ROMs?

Any known fix at this point for the small MMS issue on TMOUS in ICS ROMs?
I think honestly this is the only thing holding me back from running an ICS ROM full-time. I've flashed a few and found that everything else worked to a degree that I could handle - EXCEPT that!
I noticed that there wasn't the issue in the Virtuous Inquisition ROM, but I'm leaning more towards the Sense side of things.
Thanks!
Id like to know the same?
Did you try this (under the heading of "Small MMS"):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405457
Go to ics fixes thread and use small
Mms v1.1 fix... It solved my problem but for some reason v1 and v2 didn't work..so you might have to Try all 3 to find the one that works for you

MMS Fix!
ok first 2 things need to be done. open the rom zip file and go to system/customize/mns and open the default.xml file with an editing program.
in this you will find the following.
<module name="MessageConfig">
<function name="setting">
<set name="single">

false

false

false

true

false

Normal

100K

200K

300K

300K

true

Click to collapse
Change the values in red to say 300k,600k,1000k,1000k
Then from there when you flash the rom go to your apn settings and make sure you only have one. delete the mms apn if you have it. the only one you should have is data.
edit the data apn to say the following

Ok ladies and gents this mms fix that steve007 posted on does work. This is what I did to get it to work.
You will have to start fresh.... install zip and place on sd card first.
1. Data factory reset
2. Install rom, DO NOT REBOOT
3. Install mms fix
4. Reboot ROM go through setup.
5. IMPORTANT...DO NOT RESTORE ANY PREVIOUS DATA
6. You are good to go normal MMS size.
AGAIN IF YOU RESTORE DATA FROM PREVIOUS NANDROID BACKUP THE FIX WILL REVERT YOU TO SMALL MMS. I did pick and choose what I wanted to restore from Titanium with no ill effect...

Hmm, I must be doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what it is. I followed what was posted in the OP, but I don't seem to have some, if not all, of the features such as the 14-toggles or the extended power menu. It seems like it's just the stock ROM, all the stock features of the UCLE2 release included. I wiped data/factory reset, cache, /system, and dalvik cache a few times like most ROMS for this phone suggest. Then I flashed the linked UCLE2 modem, as stated in the OP, and onto the ROM itself. I rebooted and let the phone sit for about 10 minutes as usual and it broke my root. I flashed the provided fix for that several times, but to no avail. And that's where I'm at now.
EDIT: I didn't notice this before, but the provided root fix gives me this error when I try to flash: E:Error in /sdcard/ROMs/Smooth Ice UCLE2/icsSuperuser-3.0.7.-efghi-signed.zip (Status 0) Installation aborted.
I thought that it might be a corrupt download, but I tried downloading a few times more and transferring to my phone, but it gives me the same error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to have the toggles and the extended power menu.
Thanks.
EDIT 2: I probably should have asked this before, but does the RC1 include all of these features or just the RC2 update, which I know isn't out yet?

FIXED!
But after flashing a Sense ROM pre 4.04 - I got LTE to work.
Yay! Looks like that's what did the trick. and I also just left the APN as it was in the newest build of CM10
1. Boot into recovery
2. Make back up of most stable ROM
3. Factory Reset
4. Wipe System
5. Flash Clean ROM 4.0
6. reboot
7. Reset back into Recovery
8. Factory Reset
9. Wipe System
10. Flash CM10/JB Google Apps
11.???
12. Profit - Get LTE

If you flashed CM10 you shouldn't be seeing "MMS protocol" setting when adding the APN. One question did you dial *#*#4636#*#* and selected LTE,GSM,CDMA only option after you added the APN?

I just used the APN that was set in CM10 as default after many tries... I didn't try the above method. Yeah, that was the APN I got from another thread.
But after flashing a Sense ROM pre 4.04 - I got LTE to work.
Yay! Looks like that's what did the trick.
1. Boot into recovery
2. Make back up of most stable ROM
3. Factory Reset
4. Wipe System
5. Flash Clean ROM 4.0
6. reboot
7. Reset back into Recovery
8. Factory Reset
9. Wipe System
10. Flash CM10/JB Google Apps
11.???
12. Profit - Get LTE

Great! And if you want to make it permanent reboot into recovery and make a backup of your setup. Wipe everything minus system. Then flash a sense ROM wait for it to acquire lte and reboot to recovery again do a factory reset only and restore the backup of cm10 and you should have lte even after you reboot.

Boost Mobile APN fix for any ROM

Okay so first thing is first let this be known that this was not created by me. I'm just sharing along since I found a fix. All you have to do is Google up "universal boost mobile APN fix for d2lte" its a mod created by mopedryder. All credit goes to him. I haven't thanked cause I'm not on the thread. But here you go. This will fix the APN. Receive and send MMS and also fix "roaming indicator" to "Boost Mobile". Hope this works for everyone else like me.
Currently tried with C-Rom. Try it out and share your findings
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE! FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK
All Thanks go to MOPEDRYDER
How to:
1) Flash rom of choice
2) Let Rom update and finish.
3) Reboot to recovery, MAKE BACKUP, Flash fix
(wipe dalvik/cache if you want)
4) Reboot and change settings in Hangouts.
5) Test it
Since the fix is meant for the LTE network from Hangouts APN's select "Sprint CdmaNai" There are two of them so select the one that works best. I usually use the first one.
So far what i have tried it on.
*CM11 - Working with fix and using hangouts.
*Paranoid Android - Working with fix and using Hangouts
*C-Rom - Working with fix and using Hangouts As of C-Rom v7 data won't work on xt1031 so MMS will not send. And no you can't do it over WiFi might as well send it through regular Hangouts.
*Slim Rom - Not working. Just hangs at (Sending)
*Lego Rom - Not working. Hangs at (sending)
*Gummy Rom - Working with fix. Using hangouts.
*AOSB (ProBAM) - Not working. Hangs at (sending)
*Omni Rom - Working with fix. Using hangouts.
ALTERNATE FIX
After flashing APN fix and that didn't work try this:
1) Download 8sms from the playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thinkleft.eightyeightsms.mms
2) Go to settings in 8sms-> MMS settings-> add the following
MMSC: http://mm.myboostmobile.com
MMS Proxy: 68.28.31.7
MMS Port: 80
3) Test it. Should work just fine.
Try this fix before and after flashing the APN fix with ROM. This won't work on ProBAM ROM for some reason but feel free to prove me wrong.
Mopedryder actually replied and gave his own input and this is what he had to follow with that ks go to him one more time and also junkie2100

Boost LTE fix
R2 is basically a install binary update.
Here is some backstory / info on the 'fix':
The primary goal I set out to do was to get lte working on our phones with CM / AOSP ROMs(I have a G3 Virgin Mobile phone). Secondary, if able was to get MMS to work. MMS is still a challenge to say the least. In order to get LTE / MMS to work on Sprints network you need to identify yourself as Boost / Virgin on the Sprint network...with correct settings and at times credentials. The APN settings I made actually is a combo of both Sprint and Virgin/Boost settings.
Beyond the APN settings I made a simple bash script to 'find and replace', or if not found input the settings required. It also adds a eri.xml for the phone to identify itself as Boost / Virgin.
Getting MMS to work on LTE made me pull my hair out. Virgin mobile(Boost) working on Sprint networks when it comes to MMS messages is an over complicated issue caused the providers. When attempting to receive MMS on LTE networks with stock MMS or some 3rd party MMS apps it returns with a "HTTP error: Authorization Required". When trying it on 3G its no problem. Seems they required "Authorization" for MMS on LTE but not 3G - go figure. Hangouts basically works for all because the app itself doesn't use the phones APN settings. It tries (and does) to attain what carrier you are on and use its settings. In our case it will identify you are on the Sprint network and use those APN settings. Why don't we set our phones to the Sprint settings?...no LTE then.
For Samsung phones (My S3) TW ROMs use a system called chameleon to attain both LTE and SMS/MMS ability. The chameleon system will not work in AOSP / CM ROMs. The system "shows" itself as Virgin Mobile for phone/network but Sprint for MMS.
I have also found this fix doesn't seem to work on MIUI ROMs either. Haven't figured out why. For some reason every S3 sprint MIUI ROM wont even boot on my phone.
For my fix - if anyone wants to use / edit / repost it I say go for it. Open source at its finest. Best way to learn IMO is to reverse engineer something....just be careful :fingers-crossed:
As for the code if anyone wants to see it without unzipping:
The reason this is capable of flashing on multiple phones is partition specific blocks are not used.

Just tried this with Lego ROM...did you have to clean install for it to work? I still can't access my APN settings. It says Boost for the service now instead of the Roaming Indicator message but still no MMS support. I know you gave the link for a different thread with the methods for the fix but can you give detail on the exact steps that you did for it to work on the Moto G please? It would be greatly appreciated, MMS is the last thing I'm missing, I'm loving everything else about my current ROM and really don't wanna go back to stock.

Alright so I've been going from ROM to ROM to see which one plays nice. My first was c-rom and that worked. Then I tried pa and that also worked. Anyways the apn's only go to hangouts since that's what it's meant for. Now I'm using Lego ROM and got some reason it won't send the pictures through it. The APN I pick from hangouts is SprintCdmanai.

I was currently testing this with Lego ROM. And I can't seam to get it to send MMS either. It works with the previous ROMs I've tried.
1. Flash whatever ROM you are going to use.
2. Complete your setup. Let everything update.
3. Flash APN fix, boot when done.
The APN settings only show up in hangouts.

I started out with a clean install of Lego ROM when I flashed this fix. I, too, an not able to send/receive MMS or pictures. I'm going to check the Lego thread and see what the OP SARS @vitokes- have you tried this fix on Slim, that's what Lego is mainly based on....
I do think that access to the APN settings in the actual Settings menu has something to do with it. Also, it took me a bit to get the ROM to give 3g since it won't stick if you select Preferred Network in the menu. You actually have to go into the Phone hidden menu info from the dialer (*#*#4636#*#*).
@ricola1989 I haven't had a chance to test on slim. I will after work though.

By "hangs"
I mean it hangs at just sending. Doesn't send an MMS. Or receive. And then once left for a minute or 2 it says it can't be sent. Touch to retry. I think the problem is slim ROM in general..
Edit: also the only APN's you can use from the list are the bottom 2. They are meant for CDMA network.

RingPlus provisioning on Cyanogenmod

hey guys,
I'm currently running CM13 nightlies and want to do a clean install without flashing over my current setup. is there any way i can retain my provisioning while flashing a new cm build? i tried wiping and installing a new nightly build. everything booted fine, but the phone was not provisioned. even after flashing mvno slayer, the phone wouldn't register to the network.
I have to flash back to stock and then flash cm if I want a fresh install?
Provisioning *should* persist through flashes... unless you're changing providers.
I was able to get my device provisioned for Sprint on stock when I used it, and then was able to flash any ROM I wanted. Never needed to go back to stock, but I always stayed on Sprint.

technically it's ringplus (updated title), but I don't think being an MVNO makes the process any different. So if I wiped and flashed a new CM build but couldn't get the phone to register, what can I do? Trying to avoid going through the whole process of RSDlite back to stock and starting from complete scratch...

I'm not following - was it working before, and the act of updating the ROM to a newer build of CM broke the provisioning?
Never heard of that before, but have you considered it's the update? Have you tried restoring a backup? You do have a backup...?

Yes, everything was working fine. I wipe, then flash a new build of CM, but it doesn't register with the network. Restoring my backup has everything working again. It's just that the rom has been quite sluggish and I wanted a fresh start. I don't know if it was always like this or because of an app. That's why I'm starting over

Just try to clean wipe the working ROM, see if that works.
If it does, I'd say that update of CM is the issue.
Did you ever find a solution? I am having the same problem. If I install the latest CM 13 the phone no longer connects to the cell network. Stupidly, I did not do any backup, so the only option I have to go back to the stock ROM. With the stock ROM the phone connects to to the network with no problem.

To answer your questions, I was running CM13 I can't find older builds of CM13 that work. The only ones I find are relatively new.
I managed to get voice to work. I still don't have data. These are the steps I took. I am not sure all of them are necessary. But at least now voice is working.
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Click on the 3 vertical dot menu on top right
Select Radio Band -> PCS (1900 MHZ)
Back button <|
Set Preferred Network Type to LTE/CDMA (auto PRL)
Back button <|
Back Button <|
Settings -> Cellular Network Settings ->Preferred Network Type -> CDMA+LTE/EVDO
Settings -> Cellular Network Settings->CDMA subscription -> NV
Reboot
---------- Post added at 05:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:44 AM ----------
OK, now I got 3G data.
I changed
Settings -> Cellular Network Settings ->Preferred Network Type -> CDMA/EVDO/GSM/WCDMA
Reboot
Now if I could only get 4G without losing voice I'd be all set. Little by little...
---------- Post added at 05:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:23 AM ----------
If I go to Settings -> Cellular Network Settings ->Access Point Names, I get a message that says "APN settings are not available for this user". Is that normal? I seem to remember I had a list of APNs.
I've got the exact same problem with the CM13 nightlies on Ting. I've tried a bunch of them all the way back to April and can't get LTE to work on any of them.
If I go back to the stock ROM, it works fine. If I go back to CM11, it works fine.
I don't know if its related or not, but in the SatStat app, it shows a bunch of dashes under LTE and some long numbers like 21474 83647. This line disappears and reappears every few seconds while the app is open.

If it works in CM11 but not CM13, then something changed... Please submit logs to the CM maintainer (radio logs will probably be necessary). Of course make sure the correct settings have been applied.

Net10 APN Settings?
I am giving you how I went from point A to B in this post. My next post will be the correct settings for my new Sprint mvno: Net10.
After getting voice, data, sms and mms working in the rooted stock ROM, I install the xposed framework for Android 4. Reboot
Open Play store and install "Hidden Android Settings" and "NoHiddenPasswords". NoHiddenPasswords is an xposed tool, but does not show up if you do a search in the xposed manager app. Open xposed and Enable NoHiddenPasswords. Reboot.
Back-up your tweaked Stock ROM with TWRP.
Install Cyanogen. When Cyanogen boots up, go to Settings-"Mobile Networks", my educated guess is that the settings for
Data enabled
Data Roaming unchecked
Battery Saving Mode unchecked
Preferred network type: CDMA+LTE/EvDo
System select - set roaming mode to Home Only
Set CDMA subscription to NV
I can at least confirm those work with the two mvno's I have used: Red Pocket & Net10.
The first thing I tried was to the same settings as I showed in my prior post.
I tried changing 8.e. to ##########@net10.sprintpcs.com. Then I tried ##########@sprintpcs.com. Neither of those worked, so I knew I needed to find the value using some tool in the Stock ROM. I googled Android APN settings app, and found "Hidden Android Secrets". It has a APN settings viewer. When I looked at the ones in my phone, I saw some password fields that it would not show me without the help of NoHiddenPasswords.
Then I used Notepad++ on my laptop to copy the information shown in each access point in the stock rom on my phone. I did a new tab for each access point.
It seemed pretty obvious that at least 8e would need changed.
I tried changing 8e to ##########@net10.sprintpcs.com
I then tried ##########@sprintpcs.com
Voice works & SMS worked, but no data nor MMS over 4g.
I notice that none of the access points in my stock ROM has any reference to n.r6.ispsn. There is one with an APN n.t9.ispsn. That is very similar so I changed 8.b. to that. Miracle, I now have LTE data!
Unfortunately, though, the MMS is till not working over LTE.
In my stock ROM, there is one and only one APN with APN Type: default, mms
BTW, there is no space after the comma in the stock ROM, so I changed that.
I merged its values into my APN.
This did not kill my data; so, I tried sending and receiving MMS. Tada, that's it.
