Thanks, I'm going to try this out and see how it is. I'd rather have the 14-toggle and extended power menu so this works perfectly. Just an FYIm but the link to the Team Wafflehouse UCLE2 Modem doesn't work. It looks like the complete link wasn't posted properly.
Anyway, thanks again and I will flash this as soon as my phone is fully charged.

Its there its in the open its the only log in the op and R2 link isn't up yep, we are still working on it.

Hmm, I must be doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what it is. I followed what was posted in the OP, but I don't seem to have some, if not all, of the features such as the 14-toggles or the extended power menu. It seems like it's just the stock ROM, all the stock features of the UCLE2 release included. I wiped data/factory reset, cache, /system, and dalvik cache a few times like most ROMS for this phone suggest. Then I flashed the linked UCLE2 modem, as stated in the OP, and onto the ROM itself. I rebooted and let the phone sit for about 10 minutes as usual and it broke my root. I flashed the provided fix for that several times, but to no avail. And that's where I'm at now.
EDIT: I didn't notice this before, but the provided root fix gives me this error when I try to flash: E:Error in /sdcard/ROMs/Smooth Ice UCLE2/icsSuperuser-3.0.7.-efghi-signed.zip (Status 0) Installation aborted.
I thought that it might be a corrupt download, but I tried downloading a few times more and transferring to my phone, but it gives me the same error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to have the toggles and the extended power menu.
Thanks.
EDIT 2: I probably should have asked this before, but does the RC1 include all of these features or just the RC2 update, which I know isn't out yet?

With the superuser zip you've got to keep flashing it over and over til it installs successfully and I think its only R2 that has the extended settings and the 14 toggles

These rom's are meant for people who are on MetroPCS. Please don't use them if your sprint or anyone else. Here is a Completely Detailed How To on how to Provision your phone for data and mms.

3. Flash MetroDroid
4. Reboot
5. Enjoy! =D
Rom will Wipe DATA and SYSTEM so if u have anything you need from your current apps be sure to back it up =P
Instructions for MIUI or AOSP Scripts

Also if your Youtube isnt working on MetroDroid do this
Have wifi on even if your not connected and then don't this and wifi will work
dial ##3282#
edit mode
enter 000000 (or w/e your msl or spc is)
goto advanced
scroll to rtsp proxy address and http pd proxy address and change them to 0.0.0.0
hit back twice and now try YouTube. Then while on data be sure to have wifi on even if its not connected to anything and YouTube should work

this is probably not the kind of post you want on your thread, but can you share the settings you used to get "everything" working?
right now i can receive MMS (with wifi off) but can't send out. K9 mail receives and sends email only over wifi. everything else (market, facebook, web, texts, etc) work on data network.
i have way too much put into this rom to consider flashing for a while, that's why i'm not flashing yours.
a reply here or via private message would be great!
well if you use dsixda's kitchen first thing you want to do is go to advanced options and add use option 17. then go into /system/etc/ and make a folder called init.d then unzip my rom and copy the 08metropcs in the same location and rename it to 01metropcs and place it in your init.d folder that will give data automatically also go into the bin and copy u2nl and then go into xbin and copy sqllite3 and place it in their respective folders. Now to get the mms app to default to having 500k max message settings go into /system/customize/MNS/ and copy default.xml and place it in the respective folder if your using the latest OTA as a base just use these files from my /system/app folder and put them in yours
htcMessageUploader.apk, MediaProvider.apk, MediaUploader.apk, Mms.apk, TelephonyProvider.apk, UploadProvider.apk,
VVM.apk, WifiRouter.apk
and that should let your mms work fine in the default app
and thats about it i think
well actually one more thing but it actually depends on the rom your using as a base
also depending on the email i get a few to work for gmail it works fine on 1x, yahoo mail with the yahoo mail app from market lets it work fine, hotmail is the only one i havent gotten to work yet but you could just go online for that i guess
doing it right now... lets see how it goes...
I just installed it and i don't have WEB or MMS plus my network still searching...
what could be that problem?....
have your setup your phone correctly? cuz if not data nor mms will never work im using it on my phone and it works just fine on first boot
plus your phone has to be on metropcs cant be on sprint. a rom wont make your phone to metropcs unless your phone is in their database
i still got no signal it says ANALOG B...
I think im....
If you have MSN or Yahoo messenger pls let me know.. so you can explained detail by detail...
I will rlly appreciated...
Ok first is your phone on MetroPCS or is it on Sprint? Also if it is on MetroPCS has your phone setup correctly?
My phone its under metropcs network....
Setup correctly you mean?... now that signal came back...
& i keep getting this error...
DATA CALL FAILURE
Error code 67. registration failure. Your pcs vision username and/or password may be incorrect. please try again...
mmmmmm What i need to do to fix that...
yea your getting that because your phone is not programmed correctly and if you dont have any experience in this it will prob be hard for you. Im going to right up a guide in a few days to help people out with this so for now you just have to live without mms and web. you should still recieve phone calls and regular messages but til you program the phone correctly you wont have mms or web
ok thanks
Im trying to help out a friend because he has metro and he bought a evo so what i got to do after i flash the rom thanks
remember to make a rom for the incredible as well!
guys u have to flash your phone to metroPCS first you cant just put a rom on it and bam your done. Later today ill write up a guide so sit tight
Error 67
My evo phone was flashed for revol wireless and I have the same issue. I have put all the proper network settings in, rooted, Installed a new rom.
Whn it attempts to connect to web and mms all I receive is error 67 also.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Does anyone have a preconfigured rom for revol?
for revol just go to the Droid Eris page and you'll find Tolken419 MetroPCS thread he has a script for it that you run in recovery and use autostart
Waiting on that GUIDE
I tried that script and I still get the same error 67 message message. Any other ideas?
thanks Again

Fixes
I believe I fixed the permissions issue with 0.2_1, however just in case, here's the fix thanks to corradokng
Code:
adb shell
su (go to phone select allow)
cd /data
busybox chmod 771 /data/app
busybox chmod 644 /data/app/*
exit
Changelog
Code:
0.4
-inlcuded bali kernel (thanks drhonk)
--- this allows init.d to work which allows tweaks to be executed properly
--- also allows my permission script to run, it will fix your permissions every time you reboot
- no more FCs, all apps work on first boot
0.3_2
-settings restored (had the lockscreen one, causing issues)
-framework restored (same thing, left in the lockscreen one)
-both of these fixed the Mms crashing issue
-you must mount system, data, and cache for it to flash properly.
0.3
-fixed big & ugly quickpanel bar
-optimized version
-everything should work without having to mount /system /data and /cache, but it doesn't hurt :)
0.2_2
-fixed the fixed fixed permissions
-mounting in updater-script testing
0.2_1
-removed lock screens until we can get it working without FC in the browser
-updated version to display correctly
-fixed fixed permissions (??? let's hope!)
0.2
-fixed gingerbread keyboard fc
-re-added Samsung boot sequence so it's not blank (if you use a kernel that supports bootanimation.zip you will see the trigger one)
-added Corrandokng's port of Whitehawkx's lockscreens, power menu, & clock options
-fixed permissions on /data/app
-added Bloater, I will add apps in later (please don't try and download Vibrant apps, you may be sorry if you do and it doesn't play nice)
-added zipalign apps at boot (thank the darkyyrom team for their better zipalign script)
-added Trigger theming to dialer & settings
-removed some more bloat
Download 0.4 - Mirror
md5: 5D48D3CD58CFB5E63D64D66E614A656C
"Nightlies"
0.3 Bugs
-factory restore doesn't work in Settings
-have to uninstall apps that come with it for some
Oh shyt some ROM's rollin out!

Also. This rom is just some 7zip magic, nothing too serious, yet.

Must wipe data or it will not work - just installing does note clear the databases that is installed on first boot of a fresh ROM, If you don't wipe it is not going to work
Have CWM installed
reboot into recovery
wipe data first (if comeing from an old build or changing to a new rom)
Install any ROM that does not alreay have it
install LargerMMS.zip
Reboot

you have to install this after a fresh wipe of data so it would be flash rom, cleear data, then flash this and reboot and it will fix the tiny MMS
Awesome Thanx man!

Here is an update that works on Android Revolution HD 1.1.2 ROM that will allow bigger MMS size pictures to come through.
TO install
Must have S-off
Must have Android Revolution HD 1.1.2 Or any other ROM that works with CWM from b1nary
Must wipe data or it will not work
Have CWM installed
reboot into recovery
wipe data first (if comeing from an old build or changing to this rom)
Install Android Revolution HD 1.1.2
install LargerMMS.zip
Reboot
Thanks Mike1986 for the scripting help

Hey...The picture comes out a little "larger" but more blurry...any reason why? How can we fix it? Does it work w/ the 1.1.3 Version recently that came out?? thanks in advance great job!
Is there any way we can increase the sizes just a little bit? Like 200K, 400K, 700K? Or are they suppose to be a certain size? I did read going too big doesn't work and defaults back....
I try it with virtous but it say abort the installation,i did the wipe and everthing but not result...
Is there a way you can edit the xml so the max filesize is 1000k instead of 300k? Maybe 300k 600k 1000k like it is on stock?

its in OP LargerMMS1.1.zip I have not tested it but give it a try and make sure you wipe data first
there is some issue with this:
only tried ARHD included version but i think its the same rigth?
so it works if u set meg size to 1mb and paste an img with less then 1mb (lets say 800kb). then image comes fullsize full res.
but if u paste an img larger 1mb it will be resized to standard mms size (200-300kb) regardless what u set as max msg size.
2nd issue is that it seems to work only for some provider, e.g. tmo us. there we tested it and it worked like described above.
i tested it under vodafone germany. same behaviour like above when creating the mms. but when i try to send it i get something like:
sending aborted after multiple tries. service not supported
seems the provider is blocking such big mms. also if i send an standard mms (200-300kb), the mms i recive is just 60 kb so its again resized anywhere after sending it.
for now thats all
Can someone tell me exactly how to install this? Do I flash a new rom like LeeDroid then flash this straight after?

[GUIDE][Nov.6] CM7 Bible - How-To & Fixes - Radio Bootloop Fix, Browser Fix and MORE!

[GUIDE][Nov.6] CM7 Bible - How-To & Fixes - Radio Bootloop Fix, Browser Fix and MORE!
FIRST POST IS HOW-TO, SECOND POST CONTAINS ALL THE FIXES AND WORKAROUNDS
GENERAL INFORMATION AND HOW-TO INSTALL / UPDATE CM7
Alright kids,
We are all very happy that CM7 finally came out to play. And we thank kmobs and the whole CM7 team for all the hard work. They are just... AWESOME!
But while we have that, we also have a lot of people that are either first time android users, or that are just too busy to follow the thread, or just are too lazy (nothing wrong with that, im lazy too )
So here is a guide on how to install CM7, and I will gather all the fixes from the other thread, and will also if I forget something - let me know what I am forgetting and will add it in this thread.
Now here we go:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~I am not to be held responsible if you brick your device following these guides. If you brick it - blame Santa, not me!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
INSTALLING CM7
To install CM7 on your device, you need to first download it from HERE. Once you do that - please follow the next steps:
Code:
1. - Put the ROM on your SD card
2. - Reboot into CWM Recovery
3. - Do a Nandroid backup of your current rom. Just in case.
4. - Wipe Data/Factory Reset
5. - Wipe Cache
6. - Go into Mounts
7. - Format /system
----- I always do that, and dont have a single issue..
8. - Flash your Rom
9. - Go into Advanced, Wipe Dalvik Cache, Fix Permissions
10. - Reboot phone
Alright, once you are done with the reboot, it will start loading the ROM. Let it be for around 10 minutes, so its done with everything. Dont set it up, Dont do ANYTHING. Just watch some youtube, or have a beer, or call that girlfriend of yours. Now after the 10 minutes are done (or at least 40 minutes if you talked with the girlfriend ) - reboot the phone again.
INSTALLING GOOGLE APPS
Now its time to get Market, Gmail and all the other goods.
Here is the newest google apps - HERE
Now download the newest Talk with video - HERE
Once you do that - Put them on your SD card and reboot into CWM Recovery and follow the steps:
Code:
1. - Do a nandroid backup of your current ROM. Just in case things go south.
2. - Flash the Google Apps
3. - [B][I][U]AFTER THAT[/U][/I][/B] flash the gapps with new Talk
4. - Wipe Cache
5. - Go to advanced
6. - Wipe Dalvik Cache
7. - Fix Permissions
8. - Reboot Phone
Now set them up, and you are set. You have MARKET!
UPDATING FROM AN OLDER BUILD
If you already had the CM7 on your device, and want to install to the latest Alpha - follow the instructions:
Code:
1. - Download New Update
2. - Reboot into CWM Recovery
3. - DO A NANDROID BACKUP!!!!
4. - Install the new update
5. - Wipe Cache
6. - Go into Advanced, and wipe Dalvik Cache
7. - Reboot and enjoy the newest Alpha!
8. - If it runs worst than the build you had before, and you didnt do a backup - blame yourself and Santa for destroying Christmas, and start over.
RECOMMENDED RADIO
persiansown said:
I recommend using radio 10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01 because this is the radio that we personally tested.
Please note flashing someone else's kernel may ruin your experience with this rom and I advise against it. This rom was a joint effort between Bumblebee, cretin45, toastcfh, defer, myself, and the rest of the CM team.
To install it - just put the zip on your SD card, reboot into bootloader, select Bootloader and it will ask you if you want to apply the update. Press volume UP to apply update, dont shut off the phone, and when its done - press Power to reboot.
DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME OF THE FILE
STUCK IN A BOOTLOOP AFTER RADIO UPDATE
If you are stuck in a bootloop after the radio update, all you need to do is the following:
Code:
1. - Open the back cover
2. - Remove the SD Card
3. - Pull the battery out for 5 secs and put it back in
4. - Put the cover back on
5. - Press Vol Down and Power at the same time. Keep holding on Vol Down till you get in bootloader
6. - Select Recovery
7. - Wipe Cache
8. - Put your SD Card back in
9. - Reboot phone and its all working again. Yey.
Here is another solution, thanks to joshndroid for the tip !
joshndroid said:
tony..
may i suggest in your guide thread to cm7 as a possible solution to the radio to flash AFTER you flash the ROM/UPDATE...
also;
maybe can i suggest to take the radio.img file out of the flash zip and flash it with fastboot...
1. Open zip file and place the radio.img into the location of your adb/fastboot (platform-tools or tools, depending how you set your fastboot up)
2. Place your phone into fastboot.. by connecting phone to computer and typing
adb reboot bootloader
OR
by turing your phone off and holding volume down + power on buttons
3. flash radio by typing these fastboot commands
fastboot flash radio radio.img
4. once that is finished restart phone by typing
fastboot reboot
i did both of these things and accrued no problems and as you know im not a TMOUS and it seems that every EU phone owner blames the ROM for being american in region, which we both know that is not a problem..
INSTALLING CUSTOM KERNEL
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE INSTALLING THE CM7/AOSP KERNEL, AND NOT THE SENSE ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are having any issues with the current CM7 build - you can always flash a custom kernel. Head over to Faux123's Thread and download the newest kernel. Just to be on the safe side - download the regular newest kernel, don't go with the extreme edition (if this is your fist time flashing a kernel), as it might be unstable for your device.
How to do that, you will ask?
Code:
1. - Download the kernel
2. - Put the .zip on your SD card
3. - Boot into CWM Recovery
4. - Format Cache
5. - Flash the .zip file
6. - Go into Advanced
7. - Format Dalvik Cache
8. - Reboot your phone, and enjoy your new kernel
Big ups to Faux123 for all his great work, I have been following him since the MyTouch 4G, its always a pleasure to see what he has cooking for us!
FIXING SOUND VOLUME
To fix the sound volume - you need to do the following:
Code:
1. - Go to Settings
2. - Go to Cyanogen Mod Settings
3. - Go to Sound
4. - Scroll down and find "Always play on speaker"
5. - Check Notifications, Ringtones, Alarms
Now you have a full working Sound. People say that right after you connect your headphones - it removes these settings. So you might have to do them one more time. Just do it! There is no known permanent fix right now. Hopefully in one of the nightlies it will be addressed.
HOMESCREEN LAG
If your homescreen is lagging, like mine did - I suggest using a different launcher. I removed ADW and installed Launcher Pro. I havent had a single moment of lag after that.
Or you can head over to the second post, and download the 2D or 3D replacement Launcher, which will make things better. Big thanks to xboarder56 for sharing them with all of us!
BATTERY ISSUES
First - If you have problems with your battery draining too fast - maybe its because you installed another kernel. So try reverting back to stock kernel (Follow the "flashing CM7" guide, just dont wipe anything).
If issues are still there - Try to recalibrate your battery. You can do that by two different ways:
1st - Charge your battery to 100%, drain it all the way till it shuts off. Now dont turn the phone on, just plug it in, and leave it like that for 7-8hrs. Best done overnight. In the morning - turn on the phone, and repeat everything again. That should fix it.
2nd - Download "Battery Calibration" App from the market. Install, and follow the guides
BETTER CAMERA FIX
Alright, thanks to jjdeveau for this fix. If you do not like the camera that comes with CM7 - you can use the MIUI Camera.
Here is how to install it:
jjdeveau said:
Okay so.. For all of you who want a better camera. Here is the miui camera apk.
DO NOT JUST INSTALL IT!
#1 Open rom manager and Back up your Rom
#2 copy to system/app replacing the stock one.
#3 change the permissions but tapping and holding on the app and going to properties then hit change make sure the permissions looks the same as the other aps in the folder.
#4 open app let it install.
#5 I had to reboot phone then it showed up in my aps as miui camera.
The downside is the camera zoom still does not work and it does not support the front facing camera. tap to focus is working as well as the stock effects. it also has the panoramic view and is about as close to the sense camera as you can get right now.
CORRECT APN SETTINGS FOR TMOBILE-US USERS
Fixed my issues with Wifi-Calling MMS.
I talked to TMobile and they gave me the correct info for the APN settings.
I deleted both of the APNs listed under wireless settings and created a new one.
Just in case any of you are having issues with SMS or MMS using Wifi-Calling.. give this a shot.
Create a new APN.
Name: T-Mobile
APN: epc.tmobile.com
Proxy: 216.155.165.050
Port: 8080
Username: leave blank
Password: leave blank
Server: leave blank
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.050
MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication Type: leave blank
APN: default,supl,mms (Very important to not have a space in there.. just the ,)
hit the menu button and hit save. then use that apn. You should now have working MMS and SMS.
Hope that helps. Cheers.
FLASH PROBLEM WITH STOCK BROWSER
There are two workarounds to this issue:
1st one is - just download and install opera mobile from the market. It runs flash with no issues.
2nd one is coming to us, thanks to LSears:
For those of you having problems with Flash, it seems to be happening on a few devices with CM7.1. It can be fixed by altering the config.data file of the plugin within any app using it.
So, with the default browser as an example, you'd need to change directory (in ADB shell or a terminal emulator) to...
/data/data/com.android.browser/app_plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer/.macromedia/Flash_Player/
and then alter the permissions of the config.data with...
chmod 000 config.data
I've also done the same things within the BBC News app and BBC iPlayer. All now work perfectly! I hope that helps those with problems.
GPS LOCK FIX / WORKAROUND
For people that have GPS lock issues - I have a little fix/workaround that worked out great for me and my issues. I hope it works for all of yall.
You need to go to the market, and download GPS Test by Chartcross Ltd (its free).
Open the program -> hit the menu button -> select Settings -> hit "Clear AGPS" and after that hit "Update AGPS". Give it a few minutes and you should have a much better reception and lock on more sats. I got 6 sats locked from the inside of my house.
If it stops showing you the GPS icon - thats fine, just reboot the phone and it will all be ok.
It's bit obivious...
but I would add doing Backup before wiping/formating etc... just if something goes wrong.
Why not put this in the cm7 thread in the op just pm the dev
Cause in my experience - there is NEVER any guides provided by the CM7 team. In every phone sections that you look at - there is always a separate thread for guides and fixes.
Plus all the questions that are answered in this thread are asked over 15329852 times in the ROM thread, and its probably good to have them all in one place, instead of people having to read through hundreds (soon to be Thousands) of pages...
I would add a step for making a nandroid backup. Good writeup though.
They might, but that doesn't really stop the billion questions asked all the time, so that makes me think that people are not going to the wiki, they are looking for answers up in this forum.
Just a little anecdotal support-- when I rooted my first Android device (Nexus One, if it matters) I started off in a Guide thread in the Development section. Of course, I did finally end up at the CM Wiki, which I don't think it could hurt to link to eventually.
However, the extra bits at the end about flashing the latest GTalk and workarounds for common bugs in the Alpha version are things that I don't think would necessarily make it to their official Wiki. I think the scope of this thread is perfectly helpful
Very useful guide.
what is the recommended radio for cm7? I searched the cm7 thread and read the question asked several times but no clear cut answer. Might be helpful to add that info for people like me
Also, on reboot I lose network connectivity and have had to flash twice already...full wipe both times. I think it might be radio related.
[RECOVERY][MOD][1-June-2012] RA-supersonic-v4.3-smelkusMOD
Description
This is an Amon Ra style custom recovery based on drellisdee's (aka getitnowmarketing) source with a few changes added by me.
The "nandroid" script includes code to auto-reboot your phone upon completing a backup, which could be especially useful after a long, compressed backup, but it's never been an option in the UI. I wanted this feature to be included in the backup and restore menus simply for convenience, i.e. restore a nandroid before going to bed so the phone is ready for you in the morning, make a backup while you're mowing the yard so the phone is ready for you when you come inside, etc.
Accordingly, I modified nandroid-mobile.sh to include autoreboot on restore and modified and built a new recovery binary to offer autoreboot in the backup and restore menus. While tinkering with it, I decided to modify the font color and background graphics. Themes and features explained below.
Change Log
Code:
v4.3 - Add Get Current ROM Version to Other menu
Add initial dalvik wipe to Superwipe to ICS and AOKP themes from v4.2.1
v4.2.1 - Very minor
Update mason theme to new logo
Add initial dalvik wipe to Superwipe (forgot it on v4.2)
v4.2 - Add Roboto font (from CEnnis91)
Reorganize and clarify wipe menu, add Calkulin's Clear Temp (wipe Temp Files in recovery) and Superwipe
Center main recovery screen header and switch to all caps
v4.1 - Added two new choices to the top of the wipe menu:
Combined cache & dalvik wipe
Combined boot, cache, data, system (aka Calkulin's FORMAT ALL) wipe
Changed auto-reboot message from "Rebooting recovery..." to "Rebooting phone..."
v4.0.1 - Fixed symlinks to dump_image and flash_image, which should correct any restore issues from v4.0 (thanks drellisdee)
Modified nandroid-mobile.sh and extracommands.c to allow recovery to handle autoreboot versus the script (thanks drellisdee)
Added message and three second delay before autorebooting (thanks drellisdee)
Features
All features from v3.11 + autoreboot + improved wiping options + roboto
Known Issues
None at this time
Important Notes
1. To autoreboot, just select that option along with your other backup/restore choices and run as normal. Upon completion, you will see a reboot message along with a three second delay before rebooting.
2. The AOKP theme is just that-- a themed recovery-- not officially endorsed/supported by the AOKP team so please don’t bother them with anything related to this recovery.
3. Compatible with nandroids made under previous versions of Amon Ra (and probably CWM... dunno, never use it. Someone else that tries- Chime in!)
There IS no better recovery than this for the evo. No way, no how. It's a pleasure to have this on my phone bro. Thanks for letting me test it. All of the greatness of amonra and so much more. Now xda members get it! Even better.
Change, nothin' stays the same. Unchained, and ya hit the ground runnin'.
I'd never trust another recovery on my evo =)
Been running this since it dropped on TCD. It would be foolish to run any other recovery. Thanks for doing this. The reboot script is such a perfect addition.
What about an option for auto reboot in flash menu? When selecting the last item to flash you could check auto reboot instead of going back twice for reboot. Just throwing it out there, not sure if its even possible.
