Motorola Defy vs Galaxy s 4g? - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Which is better, Motorola Defy or Galaxy s 4g? and why? Can someone please help me out here?
Sent from my sgs 4g, wishing it was a nexus s...

I have both ...
Defy has CM and lots of roms.
Sgs4g has a bigger screen and is much smoother / faster.

And your verdict would be...?
Sent from my sgs 4g, wishing it was a nexus s...

Well, ladies and gents, I've finally gone and done it.
I sold my SGS4G.
*Cries*
But on the bright side, I'm stoked to go purchase a used Defy from a friend.
Thanks for all your input, and I'll miss these hallowed halls! Cheers mateys.

It's personal opinion... my wife loves the defy... I ditched both for my N1.

Worth it?

So right now I have a rooted hero runnin 2.3 and I want nnothing more than a new phone. I'm highly considering the ns4g, or tue evo. I'd like some ffeedback from nexus ownerson wwhat they think about the s, thank you in advance

I came from the Hero running 2.3 to the nexus myself. I can't get over the difference. It's amazing how easy it to read thing on the screen, how much bridget everything looks. Just the over-all better-ness of the phone. Do it, you won't regret it.

The evo hasalot of Dev support. But its aging hardware will be hurtfull for you after a year. Get the nexus just better over all and of coarse its a Google phone so no waiting for a port you get it first

Can't the same be said for the Nexus; hell a new nexus has already been announced. I am not partial to either one as I have access to both; simply playing devils advocate.

But the evo hardware is going to be far slower in a year than nexus hardware. The Hummingbird processor we've seen in the SGS family is by far better than what the evo is sporting.
I don't have a single concern about my Nexus S (or Epic) not being adequate in a year or two.... I have used an evo now and I already feel that it's a slow clumsy device shoe-horned into a large enclosure to attract the "hummer crowd" ... bigger is better, am i right?
I just got rid of my epic for the ns4g (cracked screen on epic). My fiancée has the EVO and I have to say its a night and day comparison. Battery on the nexus is much better. Everything is smoother, and of course the display is 100x better. The EVO is a nice phone, but hardware wise its a bit out of date.

True but right now a evo will get screwed playing angry birds with ad's with kernels and cm7. Its a nice phone but getting one now would not be a wise descion with this in the same line up

Ty everyone, the nexus being a Google phone is the big selling point to me, I do like the size of the ebo, my dad has one, but it can get a little laggy sometimes, I still have almost a year to upgrade. But the nex will still be my first choice. Unless the nrxt one comes to sprint, and has ics and dual core p:

I had a Nexus S. I honestly miss it, but the G2x hardware is a million times better. The main thing I miss about the NS is the large variety of roms (I guess cause the phone has more devs since its older) and that 4 inch Super Amoled display.

Left my Nexus One in a pants pocket and ran it through the wash last April. Tried going back to my still perfect launch day MT3G for a week or so but it was too damn slow. After just a few minutes of researching my current on-contract choices I picked up my launch week G2x in a local T-Mo store.
I like my G2x alright, but I do miss my rock solid N1.

N1 is gone, but I swap around with the rest.

[Q] What Sprint phone should upgrade to?

I'm still sporting my original HTC Hero (Cyanogenmod 7) rooted etc etc etc...
I was seriously wanting to upgrade to the EVO 3D but some more devices have shown up lately, as of today also.
Thoughts on what I should get? I want power, I tether ALOT so that is a factor. I'll be rooting etc.
Anything other than the EVO 3D I should consider?
Don't get the evo, get the nexus s 4g. I left the evo for this phone. Best decision I've ever made this phone has more developers, no bloatware, faster, smoother, sleeker, more updates. Do not miss my evo aat all.

Correct, but sense takes up so much RAM, it makes the phone super sketchy. My friend has the 3D and when he speant the weekend with me all weekend he was saying how mine was faster, he liked the super amoled screen, just get it trust me.

Sasmung Nexus S -or- Samsung Epic 4G ???

I'm thinking about switching from T-Mobile to Sprint because their service sucks by me. I'm torn between these two phones. You think it would be a no brainer to go with the Epic, but there seems to be a lot of people complaining about LOS issues.
Which phone is better and why?
Thanks everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

Nexus s is better here’s why
- Bloatware free
- Upgradable to ice cream sandwich by google
- great and large community of devs
- pretty good battery life
Nexus s. I had the epic. Its a good phone but I'm much more happier with my nexus. And we have official cm7 and miui. Epic doesn't.

Why would going with the Epic be a no brainer? It is almost identical to the NS but without the benefits of prompt updates (literally just received an update to the version of android the Nexus s launched with almost a year ago.

I only stated that because it has better specs (e.g. CPU, display, etc) and it's newer.
GS II epic or the epic 4g from original GS? If its the GS II I would get that over the nexus.

Whatever the hell they call it for the newest one with Sprint. I believe it's the GS II (aka Epic), right?

That's the Epic 4G Touch, not the Epic 4G.

Is it worth it?

Currently an SGS user but sadly it's dying more and more every day.
I've always wanted to own one of the Nexus series and I'm too poor for the Galaxy Nexus or the SGS2.
Is it worth the side step from the i9000?
Seeing as it's currently being sold for £200 sim-free.
I think it is but its really up to u u need to go out to a store an look at an an get a feel for it an see if u like it an see if u think its worth it. But I do like it its snappy an fast an smooth I really like it
I did a similar move from the Galaxy S Epic 4G, totally worth It in retrospect.

The SGS is not much different than the nexus. Just wait or panhandle to buy a galaxy nexus.

But the dev community we have is far superior to that of many of the sister sgs phones.

I moved from SGS to nexus s and I have had happy times ever since.. SGS grew tired in few months.. May be cuz of rfs etc.. Anyway now I am running ICS on nexus s and simply loving it..

Sell your Galaxy S and buy Nexus S. It has Android ICS. Galaxy Nexus is too expensive.
