Hi,
Crap is a relative term.
What you dislike, others may feel is essential.
If you truly want to make a ROM "crap-free",look into using ROM CLEANER
It will help you in exactly the way you want...
You could also install a custom ROM if you want, those usually have most of the operator and non essential apps removed.

what kind of bloatware is on there? IIRC, all the bloat should have been taken out (carrier apps). you could always use titanium backup and remove all the apps you dont want

I guess my definition of bloatware is different. I hav used Titanium Backup to uninstall and freeze a lot of apps. For me, those were bloating apps. But if you say it is bloatware free then I'm happy to flash the update and uninstall/freeze what I don't want. Thanks.

Took this advice and used Rom Cleaner after a fresh Rom install. Extremely happy with the results!! The only thing I've noticed missing is the ability to play a video that is posted on the live feed in the facebook app.
Trivial, I know but it was useful. Do you know which apk I can install to get this back, plz?
I used the stock list supplied with Rom Cleaner.

Hi
Tweaking the user text , takes a few goes , but once you get it right , you don't need to touch it again.
Sorry, don't know which apk that is.
You could ask in the thread.
Maybe patric will know.
Hi guys
I had a Sensation XE (rooted with custom rom) and made a nandroid backup of it. I want to copy that backup to have a Sensation Z710e (also rooted with custom rom). Is this possible as I need some files from the backup and no longer have the XE model?

Hi,
It should be OK.
It will only give you an error if it does not work.

Should be OK but remember that the phone your flashing to will need to have the same firmware that the old phone did or you will bootloop.

Oh yeah, had forgotten about that. :good:
My sensation XE using a 4.0.3 ROM for nearly a year. It could not boot since hours ago. Just stopped at the beats audio logo. Anyone can help on that? My phone book is very important and I did not backup recently. Fixing the problem or save my phone book are both OK. Apperciate any help.

Hi,
Try to re-flash the ROM.
You will not lose any settings or data.

Hi,
You have not said what ROM you are using.
You must flash the same ROM as you are using.

Going back to stock - the best way is to use an RUU or a backup of your stock ROM (if you have one).
No, it won't remove it, as it's cause by low RAM, so android does what it does best - cleans RAM by closing apps. And sometimes it's the Launcher - Sense (Rosie).
However, there are mods to keep the launcher in RAM. I don't remember the name, but a quick google search might bring up some results.
Correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't think its possible to backup stock ROMs?

what do you mean by that?
to make a nandroid from recovery or are you saying something else?
I dont know what sense restarts are you talking about, and what rom are you using, or are you s-on or off? If your S-OFF, first thing you need to do is to lock your bootloader via fastboot 'fastboot oem lock' and then you can flash RUU.

Last time I tried to backup a stock rom through 4ext, I couldn't, it returned a error which I don't remember.
I google a bit by then and I've read in some forums that we cannot backup a stock rom due some different structure. By then I was dealing with a Samsung / Touchwiz, not sure sure if same applies to Sense Stock.

What recovery did you use by then? Maybe it only applies to Touchwiz. Btw, I made a mistake and I wasn't using 4ext by then, it was clockworkmod.
