[Q] Sensation XE can not boot. ROM used for a year. - HTC Sensation

My sensation XE using a 4.0.3 ROM for nearly a year. It could not boot since hours ago. Just stopped at the beats audio logo. Anyone can help on that? My phone book is very important and I did not backup recently. Fixing the problem or save my phone book are both OK. Apperciate any help.

Hi,
Try to re-flash the ROM.
You will not lose any settings or data.

Hi,
You have not said what ROM you are using.
You must flash the same ROM as you are using.

You are right. Actually, I really can not remember which rom I used. I will try to find that.
Many thanks to you!:good:

Just what I'd like to get hold of as well!
In case the stock RUU doesn't turn up, I'm researching the feasibility of backing up the stock HBOOT and Recovery and reinstating them after a nandroid restore of my stock ROM (in the event I want to return to stock) but as yet haven't found a clear and proven approach.
Its also possible an ICS RUU will be made available in the next few months at the same time an OTA update is made available (if and when HTC / Vodafone get their act together) ...

It ended up better than I expected! Just posting to show my urgency and raise awareness! Who knows some guy might have it..
And yeah an official ICS RUU might surface in the next few months or so.
Hey guys,
I'm wondering if anyone has updated to new Vodafone ICS? My update failed and I need either the OTA that is downloaded while updating or a Nandroid backup.
Really appreciated..

[Q] How do I get a stock ROM?

Hi All,
I'm about to root and flash a new ROM onto my HTC Sensation but before I do so, I want to have a backup of the stock ROM in case I need to take the phone in for a repair.
I'm looking for the Vodafone Australia HTC Sensation stock ROM but can't find it!
Does anyone have one which they could send me a link to?
Or, is there a way which I can make a backup of the stock ROM from my phone?
Thanks!
EDIT: just to clarify, I've tried searching for the RUU but there don't seem to be any for Vodafone AUS. So is there anyway to backup the stock? Thanks! (I'm not exactly a newbie at rooting/flashing, just never had to worry about backing up for warranty purposes before)
i was wondering the same thing! cant find the ruu! hope someone can guide us to restore without a RUU
or some method gets invented

Im bad at posting links. Head over to sensation android development section. Find the roms collection thread and it should have plenty of choices stock and custom.

Not sure if it helps, there are many of RUU in shipped-roms.com, Sensation related ROMs are in http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Pyramid
@tingtan Thanks for the link. I'm not sure which one the Vodafone AUS one is. Is there anyway that you or someone else could match it for me? Here is a screenshot of the software info for my phone. Thanks!

hey did you find a way to do it?
People, before you flash a new rom you need to make a nandroid back up! In case you need to restore your phone for what ever reason.....
This is also done in clockworkmod recovery.....
Hit the backup/restore button and you are good to go.
If you look at the step by step install protocols in the tread of your choosen rom, one of the first steps is DO A NONDROIDBACKUP....
Goodluck!

Thanks for the tip! And I assume that if you need to take the phone back for some reason, just restore, unroot and S-on?

you cant S-on without a RUU though? thats what the guide says?
If you do restore, you are unrooted.... But be careful restoring s-on, its more riskie than requiring s-of! Read the threads regarding this proces and do what it says every step!

You'll need to have stock recovery and bootloader, which a nandroid backup doesn't save. And only an RUU, AFAIK will give you those.

Here is a link to an Australian Vodafone stock RUU, I note yours is a slightly newer version than this RUU, however I would expect this would be fine if you need to go back to stock.
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c13...00U_10.14.9035.01_M_release_220002_signed.exe (thanks to Football)
BTW you either need your stock RUU or you need to have backed up stock recovery and Hboot before rooting (via temp root) because these are overwritten in the revolutionary s-off and custom recovery installation process. A nandroid backup is important but it won't take you back to stock.
For a short time I've got the RUU in my dropbox, it might be a bit quicker and less ads! http://is.gd/Vaq45l

[Q] Upgrading to ICS results in boot loop

Hello,
Recently, I treied to install an ICS ROM on my HTC Sensation. However, after installing the ROM (something I'm not new too) it repeatably crashes and reboots.
I've tried three ROMs, (Extreme Sensation, Virtuous Quattro Alpha 3, and TripNice) and all three have resulted in this boot loop. I've wiped the phone every time, so this is not the issue.
Any ideas on how to help would be great,
Thanks in advance.

Did you update your firmware? If not, go do it... there are many guides available, and it is mandatory. READ THE GUIDES THOROUGHLY BEFORE DOING THIS AS IT CAN BRICK YOUR PHONE.
have fun ^^
You need to flash a new firmware upgrade. This should change your HBOOT. Read the ROM thread, it will show you what firmware to flash

Somethings wrong

Hey guys
My brother got the sensation a while ago, so i took it, rooted, and flashed a new rom.
I also think I updated the firmware because its running ICS(used to be 2.3).
Anyway, the phone is very laggy and slow plus when I get a call most time it reboots.
I flashed cyanogen rom (4.2.2) and through the set up it rebooted.
I wiped every thing before I installed CM.
Has any body experienced this before? any ideas?
Thank in advance m8s:good:

lol, thats the problem i guess. Its not lagging on 4.2.2 but when I get a call it reboots..
any ideas guys? could it be a hardware issue?
guys after flashing CM10 the phone works great but it over heats a lot and most of the time when I get a call, I answer, it reboots..
Whats the problem with this phone
I don't think it's a hardware issue. You could try a stock ROM or an RUU to see if the problem is fixed. Try clearing the cache and data from the phone app and see if that fixes it.

Before installing CM10, I cleared the cache and date, rest to factory and wiped dalvik cache. I always flash roms on my oneX and DHD but never experienced this problem.
I noticed something, after booting in CM10 for the first time, the prior venom wallpaper was there which was awkward...
could be this the recovery? Im currently using CWM flashed directly from play store.
PLZ help guys this phone is becoming very annoying, almost every call I receive it will reboot
Hmm...I am running out of ideas. I think you need to somehow re-install the phone.apk, but this is coming from a semi-noob. You might need a pro to help you on this.
One more idea... Did you try putting a piece of cardboard by the battery to keep it in properly (although it's only when you open the phone app)

Hi
Which developer rom are you using and also which kernel you are using ... Try to change your kernel ...
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using Tapatalk 2
Flash 3.33 firmware. Try a Rom with sense 3.6. Elegancia works well. Then try different kernels. Lets see if u still have these issues.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using xda app-developers app
Thanks guys. I will try different roms and kernels and ill post back.
Ill also try the card bored thing because I thing it reboots when I move the phone vertically.
Ill post back when I find the right solution.
Thanks again
Here it is...
As I mentioned in the first post that my brother uses the phone.
Sorry to disappoint you but the problem was from the battery
I dont know how i did not think about it.
I folded a piece of paper and placed it behind the battery and since then it never rebooted
THANKS GUYS!!!!

It will not work, you'll probably get in a boot loop if it even shows the boot animation. Don't try it, ROMs are highly specific to the phones they're made for.
What were you looking for, specifically? Sensation's got some great roms, maybe ViperS 5.2.1 might do the trick for you?
