Somethings wrong - HTC Sensation

Hey guys
My brother got the sensation a while ago, so i took it, rooted, and flashed a new rom.
I also think I updated the firmware because its running ICS(used to be 2.3).
Anyway, the phone is very laggy and slow plus when I get a call most time it reboots.
I flashed cyanogen rom (4.2.2) and through the set up it rebooted.
I wiped every thing before I installed CM.
Has any body experienced this before? any ideas?
Thank in advance m8s:good:

Nop, I mean it just restarts and works fine.
thank you

You said it lags? Android 4.2.2 should have no lag at all...

lol, thats the problem i guess. Its not lagging on 4.2.2 but when I get a call it reboots..
any ideas guys? could it be a hardware issue?

guys after flashing CM10 the phone works great but it over heats a lot and most of the time when I get a call, I answer, it reboots..
Whats the problem with this phone

I don't think it's a hardware issue. You could try a stock ROM or an RUU to see if the problem is fixed. Try clearing the cache and data from the phone app and see if that fixes it.

Before installing CM10, I cleared the cache and date, rest to factory and wiped dalvik cache. I always flash roms on my oneX and DHD but never experienced this problem.
I noticed something, after booting in CM10 for the first time, the prior venom wallpaper was there which was awkward...
could be this the recovery? Im currently using CWM flashed directly from play store.
PLZ help guys this phone is becoming very annoying, almost every call I receive it will reboot

Hmm...I am running out of ideas. I think you need to somehow re-install the phone.apk, but this is coming from a semi-noob. You might need a pro to help you on this.
One more idea... Did you try putting a piece of cardboard by the battery to keep it in properly (although it's only when you open the phone app)

Hi
Which developer rom are you using and also which kernel you are using ... Try to change your kernel ...
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using Tapatalk 2

Flash 3.33 firmware. Try a Rom with sense 3.6. Elegancia works well. Then try different kernels. Lets see if u still have these issues.

Thanks guys. I will try different roms and kernels and ill post back.
Ill also try the card bored thing because I thing it reboots when I move the phone vertically.
Ill post back when I find the right solution.
Thanks again

Here it is...
As I mentioned in the first post that my brother uses the phone.
Sorry to disappoint you but the problem was from the battery
I dont know how i did not think about it.
I folded a piece of paper and placed it behind the battery and since then it never rebooted
THANKS GUYS!!!!

[Q] Upgrading to ICS results in boot loop

Hello,
Recently, I treied to install an ICS ROM on my HTC Sensation. However, after installing the ROM (something I'm not new too) it repeatably crashes and reboots.
I've tried three ROMs, (Extreme Sensation, Virtuous Quattro Alpha 3, and TripNice) and all three have resulted in this boot loop. I've wiped the phone every time, so this is not the issue.
Any ideas on how to help would be great,
Thanks in advance.

Did you update your firmware? If not, go do it... there are many guides available, and it is mandatory. READ THE GUIDES THOROUGHLY BEFORE DOING THIS AS IT CAN BRICK YOUR PHONE.
have fun ^^
You need to flash a new firmware upgrade. This should change your HBOOT. Read the ROM thread, it will show you what firmware to flash

[Q] anybody got android 4.01 roms?

Hello. I'm semi-bricked so I cannot use android 4.03 roms. They just don't work for me. I loved arhd 5.01 because I thought it would be awful but it isn't. It has epic speech recognition problems though, it just says unfortunately voice search has stopped. It says this for each of the voice needed applications. Does anybody have any other 4.01 roms? Preferably sense but I don't mind
You could try hypernonsense, so smooth, fast and stable.
Is it android 4.01 or gingerbread
Please stop flashing your phone until you know what you are doing. I would think after all of the trouble you had previously after flashing firmware being stuck with s on and your phone being in an unusable state you would have stopped messing with it.
Go back to stock and leave it alone. You are eventually gonna brick it. You need to do a lot of reading so you are not asking for help all day, everyday.

Well im sorry but i dont want to start any arguements. I know exactly what i'm doing and why i am doing it. Android 4.01 roms are the only ones that work for me, yes i did make a fatal mistake but after much reading ( yes i did) i know what's happening
I'm furthermore 'sorry' if i have angered you experienced users but i have not really asked for help with my phone for a while now and i dont intend to. I wasn't posting this to be annoying, I just needed help finding android 4.01 roms and incase anybody else needed them.

Yes I flashed it. I think you should :
1. Flash 3.32 fw
2. Wipe data/ factory reset
3. Wipe cache partition
4. Wipe davlink cache
5.Flash virtuous 4.0.0
6. Reboot
Then if it work you can flash addons, kernels

If it's easily reproducible on an empty (ie freshly factory reset, before you've install your crap) then it would be a warranty job, IMO.
Erasing and repartitioning the sd should solve the problem. vorbeth also had this problem

Thanks Guys... I was wondering and had a feeling that the random reboots were caused by some GPU rendering / utilisation issue because reboots happened most of the time when i either unlocked the phone from sleep or when i browsed the gallery. The rom i used was AHRD updated to the latest and the fact that the adreno 220 was forced by the rom full time was haunting me.
The "strip of business card forcing the batt on its contacts" idea turned out to be a brillian solution. My device became stable with lesser reboots....
I however resorted to reformatting my 32gig class4 microSD and moving only the essentials back last night...
So-far so good. I wouldnt say that its the solution but improved my phone alot..... Worke for me.
SensationXE running stock lernel at the moment.

I also experienced a lot if restarts lately. I don't know if they're reboots, but the white screen with the HTC logo appears and immediately after that the HTC sense is loading. I would have thought that this is "just" HTC sense restarting, but might be reboot as well ... So does this solution apply to my experience as well?

[Q] can't turn on my sensation

Hi guys
after searching in this forum i found no similar issue to my sensation and i have decided to ask on a post ....
i have htc sensation 4g Tmobile (or maybe had ha ha ah ).
the phone is with me since November 2011, and i am flashing Roms here in the xda with no such issue never .before one month my screen was damaged and i have decided to send him to one of the labs for repair, and they did replace my screen and it worked well .after 3 weeks i flashed ARHD 6.6.3 and it worked for few hours and then went dead and i mean can't go either to recovery hboot fastboot even my PC does not recognize it .
i must say that when connecting it to the cahrger the orange led turn on for few seconds and then goes off thats it the phone stays off and sometimes it vibrate few times and the screen is totaly black no light at all .
is that mean that my device is bricked? or it could be related to the screen replacement
appreciate any help

Yes..I think there's something going on with the custom firmware/kernel or whatever we're putting on. I don't think it's the ROM since people with different ROM is having problems with it.
The thing is..all these are happening when the phone actually booted up and then stopped working. Not like it couldn't boot up after attempting to update ROM or install because it was interrupted half way.
So something is messed up and killing the phone. Or is it a hardware thing that many people are experiencing?
The thing is with the firmware....its not like its a test firmware leak anymore. The 3.32 firmware haw been released by HTC as part of their official ICS upgrade. If its part of the problem wouldn't we start to see a lot of failed phones? Also isn't Mike's Rom also based on the official RUU of the HTC upgrade?

If the reboots happen with the flash, maybe your battery is dying. Check if it's getting inflated. You can try another ROM, or resetting your ROM
