Going back to stock - the best way is to use an RUU or a backup of your stock ROM (if you have one).
No, it won't remove it, as it's cause by low RAM, so android does what it does best - cleans RAM by closing apps. And sometimes it's the Launcher - Sense (Rosie).
However, there are mods to keep the launcher in RAM. I don't remember the name, but a quick google search might bring up some results.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't think its possible to backup stock ROMs?

what do you mean by that?
to make a nandroid from recovery or are you saying something else?

I dont know what sense restarts are you talking about, and what rom are you using, or are you s-on or off? If your S-OFF, first thing you need to do is to lock your bootloader via fastboot 'fastboot oem lock' and then you can flash RUU.

Last time I tried to backup a stock rom through 4ext, I couldn't, it returned a error which I don't remember.
I google a bit by then and I've read in some forums that we cannot backup a stock rom due some different structure. By then I was dealing with a Samsung / Touchwiz, not sure sure if same applies to Sense Stock.

What recovery did you use by then? Maybe it only applies to Touchwiz. Btw, I made a mistake and I wasn't using 4ext by then, it was clockworkmod.

What is the best way of flashing an custom Rom?
S-off your device and flash a recovery, then download a rom and install it wih recovery
Best recovey: 4ext beta 2.2.6
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
Don't forget to root your phone after S-offing.
It's be important for flashing a custom rom
+1 for the recovery
If he install a custom rom.it ll be already rooted
Unless he install a ruu
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
Exactly, that's what I'm writing.
he must be S-off with RUU rom, and root too, without problem. It's more practice to making all operations in the same time.
But he said that he want to flash a custom rom, so he must be:
1 - S-off
2 - Root
3- Nand backup (more important)
4 - Flash rom custom
Our posts are complementary
I directly flashed a rom after s-off

Revolutionnary patch, do a quick search and you'll find link easily.
Oh come on
Nandroid backup is useless
I bought my ds and s-offed it directly
No nandroid
No root zip
When you install a recovery, you don t need nandroid unless you want to install a ruu
He want to install a rom,so if the rom is breaked, there is no problem.downloading it again,he can reflash it.
The only thing that is necessary, it s the recovery.with this you can do anything

THIS ONE is newer, faster and better on battery. Also includes rooting tools (to be flashed from recovery).
One malybru quoted is also good, but is GB, one i linked is ICS.
P.S. I'm using it at the moment and am very happy with it (rooted)

Hi,
All I know is that it is very close to stock.
I have never tried it myself.
It will not hurt to try it for yourself.
You can of course flash an RUU of your region and carrier.
This will return your entire phone(including recovery) back to stock.
It will leave you s-0ff.

No, if you still want s-off and root you are better off flashing one of the stock roms.
With ruu you will lose root, custom recovery and other goodies.
BTW, if you have a look under our avatars you will see why we cannot be on T-Mobile US.

RUU stands for ROM Update Utility. It is a utility you run on your computer to flash your device via USB.

Does the rom boot? If so just use the 4ext app to flash a new theme. That should overwrite whatever is corrupted. If that doesn't work reflash the recovery entirely. You can do that from the app too.
If that doesnt work comeback with a more detailed description of exactly what you get.

[Q] JB Sense ROMs not booting for me

I've run multiple versions of CleanROM and also CM10, but anytime I install a Sense based JB ROM (I've tried Newt's, JellyBlam, and a few others), my phone gets stuck on the HTC boot splash, reboots, and enters recovery. I am on HBOOT 1.09 and Ive tried to fastboot flash the boot.img just to be sure, but it still doesn't work? I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, any clue what it is? Thanks in advance.

Maybe you have an init.d folder that is telling the JB ROM to overclock? Could check and delete that first. Otherwise you can double check the md5 of the ROM you're flashing to make sure its not corrupt. Aside from that it might be worthwhile to try a ROM like urdroid which allows you to flash the kernel during the installer.
Dunno man, your problem is a strange one.

Urdroid was another that i tried. It would get to the ROMs boot splash and lock there, but its the only one i recall that even got that far out of the 3 or so that i tried. where would that init.d folder be?
Either the directory of the /sdcard or /. I forget which as I have deleted it. But it should be a folder. Don't delete it if it's by itself.

Really sounds like you are not flashing the boot.img correctly.
Extract the boot.img from the ROM you want to use and install it with:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
You're not alone....

I've been experiencing the same problem on my HTC Sensation 4G for the past couple years since I've had it. I have 3 HTC Sensations in my family and I've been playing around with all 3 phones during the last year. On my sister and my mom's phones, I'm able to install any rom (Sense-based...ARHD, Elegencia; and AOSP/AOKP-based...CM10, Paranoid Android, etc); however, on my own phone, after dozens of installs, trying all types of different kernels and roms, I was only able to install AOSP/AOKP-based ones. I've been running Touchcream ICS rom for awhile, then Paranoid Android, and currently JB Samsation V5 on my HTC and I love it. I'm really not missing out on anything, but it's just weird Sense-based roms just wouldn't boot. After some researching on the forum and experimenting with others, I've deducted that the reason could be very well my own hardware. :victory:
