HELP: Every rom different than sense 3.0 stucks at HTC logo screen - HTC Desire S

Hello everyone,
I have a Desire S S-ON, rooted, HBOOT is 2.00.0002 and radio 3822.10.08.04_M.
My problem is that the only ROMs I can successfully flash are the SENSE 3.0 roms, SENSE 3.5 roms will stuck on the HTC logo after reboot (the flashing process is successfull), and the same thing for MIUI.
I would like so much to have the MIUI rom as I had on my old Desire, but I cannot find a way to fix the problem, I have also installed 4ext recovery instead of ClockWork but nothing changes
Thanks a lot for anyone who might help, I tried to search in lot of forums but did not find a solution..

[Q] Want to revert to original ROM-HELP PLEASE!!!!!

hi,
I rooted my htc desire a few days ago using unrevoked 3.2. I then backed it up and wiped the phone and installed a custom UI (MIUI). I had loads of trubble with installing the rom and then found that my back up wouldnt work either. Today i tried a hard reset but when i boot the phone up all im getting is the o2 boot screen (branded phone to o2). All i want is to go back to what i already had on before (htc sense 2.2), no other custom roms
thanks in advance, please help. my phone is useless at the moment
I may not know much about HTC hardware and sense i do know that if can find the original ROM there should be instructions to install it or just try flashing it. I'm sorry if im mistaken.
How do i flash it and what does flashing do?? and were can i find the original ROM? sorry im a noob
Download and flash RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed.exe from here: http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/
You may need to have HTC Sync installed on your computer to flash the RUU.
This information is well discussed in the Desire section of these forums, you should check it out.
Good luck.

[Q] From stock to ARHD

Hi all,
I tried some searching, before I started this one. And I allready want to offer my apologizies if I overlooked something. There is so much info on these boards.
Anyway. I have a Sensation which I've S-off'ed with the Revolutionary tool. After that I changed CID and installed a stock HTC ROM (I came from Vodafone branded).
I've read trhough Mike's thread for ARHD and instructions on installing it, but it only mentions that I should flash it using the Recovery that's coming with the Revolutionary tool.
Should I run the Revolutionary tool again (I allready gained S-Off) and install the the recovery, or is it just possible to install the recovery alone? And if so, where can I find the version that comes with Revolutionary?
Thanks in advance.
Since you are S-Off just download the ARHD zip and place it on your SD card. Then open bootloader...etc and it will install

Hi,
Your best bet is to download 4EXT(check my sig),which is like a next generation recovery tool, and install it.
Place the new ROM on the root of your sd card, together with a super wipe zip.
Then ,from your homescreen you can open 4EXT ,go to recovery, install zip from your sd card.
Choose the super wipe zip, followed by the new ROM.
Hit proceed and wait.
Thanks man,
I'll have to read up a bit. I'm kinda new to all this. Since everyone was mentioning CWM I thought it was the only way to do it.
But if I'm not mistaken, I install EXT4 while running OS? And next time it boots, you have a different recovery. I'm used to only seeing HBOOT

Hi,
Go to settings >power, and make sure fast boot is UNCHECKED.
This will enable you to enter recovery.
Install EXT4 while running OS.
One of the best aspects of 4EXT ,is that you do almost everything from your home screen.
Wow, thanks for the information. I appreciate that.
Will go at work with it and get ARHD to run, instead of the stock one. The reactions on the releases at Mike's thread are all really good. And it's nice that is has stock look and Sense.
Only doubting on which one to install, the 3.x.x or the 4.x.x. I believe it has to do with Sensation vs. Sensation XE ROM, but if Beats Audio is the only difference (which I guess, is not ) than it shouldn't matter which one I take.
Any suggestions on it? I'm just an average user.

Hi,
I suggest you start with 3.6.5 ,which is a Sense 3.0 ROM ,and see how you get on.
4.1.6 is a Sense 3.5 ROM,but it is still a test ROM,and therefore not 100% functional.

This is being asked twice a week. Please search, or just look at the threads - no more than a couple of forum pages and you'll find the answers.
And stock ICS has bad bugs.

[Q] Desire S touchscreen not respondig after ICS RUU upgrade

Hi,
I've a strange problem.
At the last day I tried to upgrade my DS with RUU (stock ICS rom, downloaded form the offical HTC site)
The flashing finished successfully, after system boot up I can't do anything. The touch screen simply not working.
I tried with some other ICS based custom rom via CWM, but no one works.
After that I tried a JB based ROM, it's worked, but it was very very very slow. When I touched the screen, the response coming after 2-3 seconds.
When I downgrade to 2.3.5 everything works fine. Why is that? Please help me! Very many thanks!!!
Deatils about my DS:
locked
supercid 8x1
saga pvt ship s-off rl
hboot: 2.00.0002

The Desire S comes with two types of display panels, Sony and Hitachi.. The majority of the devices have Sony panels and almost all custom ROMs are aimed at it. So hitachi panel owners are at a disadvantage. Most of the time the device doesn't boot. You need to check your panel. There are several posts in the development forum about it.

That's just wrong.
1. Only jb roms (and balele) have any issues with non-Sony panel support
2.if there is a problem with that, the rom will not boot, so that isnt anything to do with this thread
Thanks guys for your replies. Yes, I read out a thread, about the LCD panels, and there is no posts about conflicts with ICS.
So what should i do, what do you think about it?
Do you have any advice to me?
Thanks a lot!
UPDATE: I tried some different ICS based custom ROM, but no one works. Today, I tried the Virtuous Quattro ROM, and it works. Can you tell me, what's the difference between this ROM, and the others? Thanks a lot!
Can u try installing 4ext recovery and full wipe , and flash fallout evolution rom (most stable ics )? Cwm gave me problems like that
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda app-developers app

Definitely 4ext is far better than CWM. Never misses a shot since I have first installed
