[Q] Contact pictures not displaying!! -__- - HTC Sensation

Hello XDA sensation users! I'm having some issues with my contact pictures syncing correctly. I'm not quite sure how to fix it. When I go into my actual contacts through phone --> People they won't show up.Hhowever, when I am using a messaging app such as handcent, the pictures display fine in the contact list!
Has anyone else heard of this issue before????
Btw, I am using insertcoin 3.4.5 <--(I think thats the latest one. If not, I'm on the latest one haha) Stock kernel, and I have some mods like the amaze cam. IDK if that makes any difference.
Please get back to me. Thanks!!

This is very frustrating >.<

Look, I'm bumping this because its really pissin me off haha. Does ANYBODY have a solution??

App still works in Froyo with Sense.
Maybe I can port it.
After checking the @mentions on twitter I'm guessing many more users would be ecstatic if xda devs fix this problem... if the dev would turn over the work done so far maybe he wouldn't feel so overworked being a one man show as I believe he put it... then he could focus on his ibuddies better...

[Q] Custom Incoming Call Screen

Hello All,
Rooted Thunderbolt on Verizon here running Adrynalyne 4.1a kernel and Das BAMF 1.3.2. Coming from iPhone, and this is my first Android device, so bear with me if the answer to my questions is elementary or obvious...
I am currently using Launcher Pro Plus, as well as WidgetLocker, to customize the look and feel of my phone. Have things just the way I like them for the most part, with the glaring exception of the incoming call screen, which still comes up with the stock HTC Sense screen (down to answer, up to reject).
Wondering if anyone knows of anyway to customize this a bit?
Also, unrelated, but, why does the resolution of my contact photos suck so bad regardless of what I do? It's driving me crazy!
Thanks in advance for your help.
Ya, my contact pics are also crap. I would also like to know about that.
My contacts are good only if I use the sense Facebook app. Otherwise junk, even if the contact photo isnt a Facebook contact.
Supposedly Google is working on it.

Haha, what a helpful dev! I haven't run into this problem, but I'm not using a vanilla ROM. I'm running Bamf, but I use the vanilla sms app, and haven't had any issues. Sorry, I can't be more help.
this rom isnt all vanilla just some vanilla stuff and still a lil sense in it. i dont know any dev stuff im just trying to be a lil helpful if i can thats the only thing i have came across that dont work right. its a great rom fast smooth and dev is helpful as he can be
but on the other hand my swype auto spaces now with vanilla sms were it didnt with the stock sms
The Dev on the Vanilla Bean rom is great. He is always helpful. PM him and see what he says. He updates often, but his TBolt broke so he can't test stuff right now.

[Q] Video chat is sideways

I've searched the forums, google etc and can't see an answer to this. I've updated my ROM to the latest from Virtuous Unity running sense 3.0 and android 2.3.4 but when i try and do a video call, either with google chat, or Skype, my image always comes out sideways to me, and to the other person, no matter which way i turn my phone.
Any ideas why? Is there a solution? Tried a couple of other ROMs but same issue.
Any help would be appreciated

As far as I know this is a 'known bug' don't think there is a work around for it yet

Is your mirror app unsidedown when you turn your phone to landscape?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
also for me, i can video call with skype without a problem
Yeh so can I. But test your mirror app. What kernel are you on
using 'My Mirror' from the market, no problems in landscape mode.
Kernel is v9.
I'm a bit of a noob with all this flashing lark, i rooted the phone and installed the 2.39 virtuous rom, so no idea if that changed the kernel to the one that the phone came with. How do I know?
Installed latest Skype and you are right video is now correct, but still sideways on google talk which i use more and prefer. So guess it's a google thing?

[Q] Infused or MIUI

i am currently running the infused rom on my infuse 4g and i am noticing a lot of people talking about the MIUI rom. can someone tell me the big differences in the roms that makes them stand out from eachother. which one is more user friendly and such. i have uploaded a screenshot of my homescreen using go launcher ex.
really no replies yet? c-mon people help me out. i have been looking around and found a new rom that looks amazing. i am not a total noob at this stuff i know what i am doing. the new rom that i am looking at is called sensation rom and it looks amazing kudos to the guy that designed it. if you are running it please feel free to fill me in about it too. i am looking to flash a new rom soon and want to know what is the best that i can get for my infuse. here is the link for the sensation rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325177
again all the help i can get from here would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS
you can wait longer than an hour lol
to get an idea of how the roms are different, you can watch some videos on youtube.
miui is a big change from most roms, it's probably best to just flash and see if you like it. it's not like flashing is permanent

the sense Rom is good, i will leave it at that.
i dont like to hype Roms, cuz they are different for everyone....you may not like the features on one while someone else absolutly loves them. Miui is the MOST customizable rom that is out there. Cm7 is a great Rom as well. i can find good things to say about most roms i have tried on the infuse. and i have Tried them ALL...lol
i say flash away, if your not a Noob - i know your not scared of a brick right.
take the time and see if you like it, if not Flash another and another and for ****s and giggles flash another.
trial and error is the only way to really see if a rom works for you.
It's al about personal opinion man, in my opinion, you should backup your current rom and then flash miui and give it a try. the worst that can happen is that you won't like it and all you have to do is restore from your backup.
Its just two ROMs..!! And you are on Infused. Try out MIUI for a couple days and keep what you liked more.

I've just flashed to MIUI. This is purely my opinion alone.
- It's has a very clean interface with no "crapware" at all. I've to install everything from scratch. That's a plus point anyway.
- And there's multitude of customization that can be done. From themes, to settings, etc.
- But the thing that I don't really like is all my installed app sitting pretty on the home screen.
- I do notice that it's faster than the original infuse interface. Faster browsing too.
- I think it has problems handling more than 4 gmail accounts and Google voice seem to be working erratically.
Apart from that, everything works fine and I'm still figuring it out further.
Think of MIUI as a REALLY REALLY GOOD knock off of iOS.
its CM7 with a skin. lol. basically.

youtube would be a great idea if i werent at work where it is blocked. haha. but thanks for all your help everybody. i may flash MIUI just to try it out. thanks!
Personal preference tbh.
so just to cover my ass a little, if i make a backup of my current rom using rom manager and i dont like MIUI i can always restore from the backup that i made? and when i do decide to get MIUI what and where should i get it from?
MIUI is in the developers section of the infuse forums. It is usually on the first page due to so many people posting on it, it isn't hard to find.
well i did it. i flashed to MIUI and i am going to see if i like it. so far i am not happy. i had my phone to backup all my contacts to google and it didnt and i even moved them to my sim card. so i lost all my contacts. but all in all its going to take some getting used to. will either upload pics at some point or maybe make a video to help people like me who are a lil iffy on rom flashing.
thanks guys for all your help!
I've been running MIUI for 3 weeks now and I LOVE it.....sleek, customizable, fast, faster browsing than stock....but I would recommend trying both to find the one that works for you

MI~INFUSED~UI
All I know is I LOVE Infused GB rom
I tried Serendipity, and HATED it. Flashed Infused back immediately. The swype is outdated, and the look and feel is god-awful. Plus, I refuse to keep a ROM on my phone called "Serendipity" terrible...just awful.
Never tried MiUI
just get Infused. GTG is the man.
Im late on this topic. Just flash both and see which you enjoy more.
