Anyone?
Many i9020t and i9023 get the OTA
But I haven't seen any i9020a get that.
Not yet!

I think I am going to wait since the instructions in the other thread seem to be for i9023 and it seems to be giving signature error for i9020a.

Thanks.
I just found that the ROM was for T-MOBILE(TMO)
Hold on
Because of minor difference between two models, i9020a will need to go through some changes for it to function properly. I heard that if you manually update i9020a with i9020t ROM, you will either get an error or it will kill your reception

Thank you!
I just found that an i9023 can be flashed the i9020t's rom.
How many days we should wait for?
A week or a month?
This is ridiculous that i9020a users get left in the dust. -.-

Settle down. It's been one day since Google announced that ICS is rolling out. They said it will be happening over the next month.
Patience.
Just flash the Neapolitan rom and be happy besides with that rom you don't loose cwm and still have root.

Why the i9020a is the last one.(except ns4g)
Maybe because it was the last one to come out...or maybe it is a way to keep from overloading the server. Only other thing I can think is that maybe they are working on a new radio for the att version

Probably a mixture of all these. I have an i9020a and I'm running the neopolitan ROM for now. It's great. I was on stock 2.3.6 with cwm recovery. Just wiped all and flashed it. It kept the bootloader and the radio.
im running the tmo ota on my 9020a with gladosv2.0
I´m running the tmo ota on my 9020a with gladosv2.5

No update for 9020a yet, -1 for google

The update should come sometime this month. Since thats when google said thats when i9020a will get the ota update. It also depends on where you are.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA
who needs the ota now when there is so many good roms out there? I think the only advantage to the ota coming out is possibly a new radio that might be better.

It may be this month but Google never said it would be this month. They have never stated when/if the i9020a version is getting ICS. There's a difference between a French website posting false information and Google actually making an announcement. JBQ (from Google) has recently said 4.0.4 is not even finished yet. So I highly doubt 4.0.5 will be released this month before 4.0.4 is finished.

If you flash 2.3.6 for the I9020T you can flash the stock ICS ROM that was uploaded last night for the I9020T. All you need to do then is flash the radio for I9020A and you have fully functioning ICS .

I keep hearing people say that. It seems weird, though, doesn't it? If that's really all it takes, why wouldn't Google have just packaged them together and released it for the I9020A? I'll never understand corporate politics...
they may just have an ota schedule to keep from taxing the servers, or maybe they are working on a different radio for the at&t version. In any case there is a rooted version of the t version without the radio in the development section that works on the a version just fine. I have been using it all afternoon with no problems what so ever.

do you have to be rooted to do that, and if you apply the t-mobile version will at&t and google still send you the real ota?

I don't think you need to be rooted, but you'll need an unlocked bootloader. And no, if you install modified firmware, you won't get future OTAs.
Is Google working on it or they never ever had planned to do it for 9020A?
btw since the update for 9020T is out, I assume what google need to do is simply replacing radio in the ROM according to 9020A specification.
Is it all that hard?
I think they need to fix the battery bugs first.

This. They've put the brakes on the i9020t update already; one suspects they aren't about to start rolling out an update to the i9020a until they're confident it works right.
Could you please educate me what's the battery bug?

I flashed the ICS 4.0.3 for 9020T (with radio replaced by KF1), what I observed is the battery lasts longer that it did back in 2.3.6 ages.

They only stopped the rollout in a few counties. The US rollout on the i0920t continues.
I hope my 9020a gets it soon. I do have the 9020t's with the right radio in the mean time.
I bought this phone because I looked forward to getting quick updates. I had the captivate on att and went mad waiting for updates. Now there is talk other devices from sony may get it soon. So help me if they get an official ICS before I get mine....

Hello, I am using Nexus S 2.3.6, from Malaysia.
A few of my Malaysian friends already receive Over The Air update of ICS from Google. However, although I do check for "Settings -> System updates" all the times, I always saw "Your system is currently up to date".
Is there any additional settings I need to do, in order to receive official update from Google? I prefer not to do it manually myself by downloading the ROM.
I believe that Google stop rolling out the ota.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
I keep wondering when the ICS OTA update will be released. I'm using an i9020a on at&t and I'm still stuck on the 2.3.4 update. When I got to check for an update it says that the system is up to date, even though most people have 2.3.6 on their NS's.
It's probably quicker and less painful to just download and update to the latest ROM yourself, especially if you're starting to check for system updates on a daily or less-than-daily basis.

I've tried that, and I'm still stuck on 2.3.4. Can't even get 2.3.6, let alone ICS.
Might as well flash one of the many AOSP or CM9 ROMs posted out here to be honest. How fast is AT&T in approving ROM updates?
I'm pretty sure that's part of what's holding it up despite the Canadian 9020As out there...
I've flashed Kalimochoaz's CM9 alphas a few days ago and it works like a charm.

I don't know that it is at&t holding up the update, I think it's still on Google right now. I have considered flashing an ICS ROM on it, I just haven't had the time or motivation just yet.

Hey guys. I was planning to get one of these tomorrow but I've seen from forums that the ICS update might not be out yet, is it or not?
In the U.K and will be getting an unlocked version of the phone.
Really want ICS, I hear the update to ICS was out in December but from the forums it doesn't seem so.
Its out, its just not OTA. So just flash it.

It depends on what device you're gonna get..
For Nexus S I9020T (the t mobile version with AMOLED screen) the ICS OTA is out since Dec. 2011 ... Stock now at ICS 4.0.3 (I think the same applies for the LCD version I9023)
For Nexus S I9020A , no ICS is not there yet !! and might be never nobody knows (except Google themselves) ...
that summs it I hope

My daughter got it early on. I didn't. I'm having a lot of battery issues and rebooting. I want this update, hopefully it will cure my problems.
Reading the posts here, it seems it may have been withdrawn,
So I ask, Did you get the OTA? When?
I saw in the other post about the update that someone had it waiting for them Monday morning so I guess that means it wasn't withdrawn as of yesterday?
I never got it, either.
My wife hasn't gotten it, but I installed a different kernel. Would that keep her from getting the notice?
I figured if the ROM was stock, she would be ok...

I'm stock. I'm on 2.3.3 and v21e.
I'm curious and just want a show of hands from people who got it after the first couple of days.
Like I said, I did see where someone said they got it apparently over the weekend. This tells me it's not withdrawn?
And isn't the consensus that the OTA goes more smoothly than through LG?
Here's the problem, there's the lgp999DW, DWP, and 2 others that I dont remember off the top of my head. Only 3 of the 4 got the OTA. They're supposed to make the file available, for those who didnt recieve it like they were supposed to, around May 14. At that time I'm sure there should be a way to force load the update for our model.

I did the whole stock format and search for update, did the stock format and connected to my computer, all said the same thing, "Your device is up-to-date. 2.3.3 V21e." There is no current sure-fire way to get the update until they release it.

OK, found out the update was for lg p999DW models only. If you wanna which one you have, remove your battery cover and right below were the battery goes in little white print you should see something LG-P999DW or LG-P999DWP.

Unofficial OTA is v21y
v21y is highly NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
