I9000 GPU. - General Questions and Answers

Anyone know if antutu supports dual core?
Because the hummingbird's GPU considering the cpu clock speed is at 1ghz, antutu reports back 1106, now if i oc'ed it to 1.2ghz , i bet this I9000 could perform just as well as the new nexus on certain games

^^ my phone, Samsung Galaxy I9000 (16gb version, 4 months old, came with 2.3 now on 2.3.3, now my 3D graphics score is 1106.
Here is now the
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4a-sphr07c
above is the new galaxy nexus, which has a dual core, it has a faster cpu, by rights, it should really own a phone as old as the i9000 fair to say.. but, if you break, it down you'll see that the nexus's GPU power only gives it's a slight boost, 3D 1226 on the galaxy nexus, and on a humble I9000 GS, we have 1106..
Now what gives the impression of a superior score, is of course, double/triple the memory and significant IO/read/writes.., when it comes to Asphalt 6 on the I9000 vs I91000, there's really not much difference on that game...
So the differences between an i9000 and say a galaxus nexus, please it can't be just triple the memory, a faster clock frequency, and a slightly more powerful GPU? because the difference after you OC the hummingbird processor of how the GPU (specifically GPU here) performs....
I was lead to believe the GPU in this was significantly better than the I9000's?

You sure you have the original galaxy s2 the 2d score with exynos and Mali should be around 900 something. The t-mobile version has a snapdragon s3 processor.

Gtablet CPU Wars 2 vs Droid X

Dual vs Single.
Viewsonic Gtab is sporting the Nvidia dual-core Tegra cpu and I wanted to see how is compares to the Motorola Droid X single-core Texas Instrument OMAP 3630. I ran Softweg Benchmark app to compare results.

Wonder how much Gingerbread OS is factoring into the score difference? Looks like a lot of optimizing has been done with the Tegra processor. Rumors that the Droid X will be coming out with a dual-core processor also.
Forgive me if I'm being thick, but I'm not quite sure what you're trying to illustrate here. Are you trying to say that a dual-core chip doesn't suck against a single core chip? I think that the Optimus 2X is the only phone that is close to kicking our tab's butt and it has the same processor. So...what was this comparison meant to show?

I made 6 benchmark post for information. I like to see how device perform under different benchmarks so I have an idea how they perform. Easier to make decisions on price to performance. I'm convinced the Gtab is the best price/performance 10" tablet on the market. I tossed my Droid X in since it has plenty of users, lots of reviews and illustrates how much the Tegra cpu is bringing to the tablet/mobile world. Can you post your Optimus 2X numbers?

[Q] Benchmarks

Hi i am in the balance of getting an atrix 4g or an atrix 2 and i want more data.
cold someone post a quadrant score of the fastest most overclocked rom here (that is stable) so that i can compare. also could someone tell me the xvid hardware capabilities?(if there are any?)

The Atrix 2 has (on average) higher benchmarks than the og Atrix. The TI OMAP4 is much more optimized, and especially because of overclocking, the benchmarks should be a lt higher. I'll post a screenshot later, I'm a little busy
Just to give you an idea, I'll put up the numbrs for a stock Atrix 2:
Quadrant Score: 1924
AnTuTu Benchmark v2.5.4: 4278
For some reason Screen Grabber isn't working atm..."unknown error aquiring image from device"
Just from looking at the rankings from AnTuTu, the top ranked A2 running the Supercharged ROM is hitting 1,375Mhz and scored @6,543.
Runnin ifaber06's BEAST ROM V4 Supercharged. @ 1325 mhz my chip has been getting broke in good ...good looking you guys are off the chain! !!

Edit I was running these kinda numbers on my G2X @ 1.5 MHz...this phone has got potential ..
Attached is a snapshot of the most recent top AnTuTu rankings for the A2...
I have no idea what that guy in Russia did with his to get a score of 7678 at 1280MHz..

Is Antutu a bad benchmarking tool?

I've been a big fan of Antutu and have been using it to compare performances for several phones. However, I noticed that in several places when they compare Att vs. International hox, no one posted the Antutu benchmark results.
Below is the result from international HOX.

And this is the result from my local Att store's HOX
There is a huge difference. And they still say that the two phones are comparable in processor performance, why?

This topic has already been discussed ad nauseum in this forum. Antutu is highly threaded and thus able to take advantage of all four cores on the Tegra 3. In the rare situations where an app is able to take full advantage of four cores of the Tegra3, it will come out ahead. However, this does not represent the common use case. Even on the desktop, few apps take advantage of more than one core, let alone two. The advantage of four cores is debatable. The advantage of faster, more energy efficient cores is not.
I agree. Every benchmark has it's own bias.
For example, the dual core will destroy the quad in something like linpack. Or increasing just the SD cache size will add a ridiculous amount to your quadrant score.
None of them truly represent actual performance. The only ones that can would be actual in-game benchmarks of games with the FPS shown. And that's just if you want to benchmark the gaming performance.

Quadrant is just an app that benchmarks your phone. Or simply put runs a series of tests on your phone to determine how fast your phone can perform tasks. It tests GPU, CPU and how efficient your phones ram is along with other things. It will then provide a score for how well your device has performed the tasks. The higher the score the better.
i get also scores >6400 (stock), whereas my friends (stock) galaxy S3 gets only 5800. I kow benchmark scores does not really say anthing about everyday-use-performance but also in this area i prefer to use the One S and can say it is indeed more fluid than S3. we can say the One S is the best phone <4,5" ..
HTC did a well done job in releasing such a powerful phone which does not have sizes of tablets but a comfortable easy to handle 4.3" screen. I hope they release Sense 5 soon, and i am waiting for the successor of One S with same dimensions but higher pixel density and higher battery-capacity.
I'm on Twisted Kernel OC'd at 1.9GHz and I'm only getting a 4k score. When I was on ViperOneS, I had a 5.8k score or something. Not fair :x
when it comes to benchmarks, for me stock was always the one with most points. does not say anything about overall performance tough

2.1GHz Cortex-A57 not clocking at 2.1GHz

Ok can anyone else confirm. I used cpu spy and other variouse kernel tuners to see that all 8 core will not go past 1.5 GHz. I am on the tmobile 920T and others are not going past 1.5. I am not coplaining about performance but if the exynos cpu is not putting out then we have a problem.

Look at the better battery stat screenshot. Time in state for all frequencies has a highest level on 1.5ghz only.
I did benchmarks too and still not passing 1.5ghz.
There is no problem ,CPU spy cannot read the frequency correctly for a BIG.little CPU
It shows frequency for little([email protected]) cluster only ,not the BIG(A57) cluster which goes up to 2.1Ghz.
P.S Hopefully you understood this

Side Note:
I do believe its big.LITTLE though? Or am I off base. Could've sworn it was this way though. One of those odd things I remeberd because of the slight irony.

I hope this is 100 percent true. I even looked at trickster mod and it wouldnt let me set the frequncies higher than 1.5 either.
