Thanks goes to #TeamWin for Temp Root
This is For Windows only, if you wish to make it work for linux or mac help your self...
Remember, This is still a Temp Root & any Changes made will be Rest back to stock on a Reboot
It's stable & works 100%
I Personally have not lost Root with this new Method
Q. I thought RW was Fixed?
A. Caused by Deleting an apk / file that was already deleted. Journaling shows it still there!
Keep Track of what you delete, as trying to delete something off system that you alread di hangs the /system into RO state.
Before Using!!HTC Sync Must be Turned OFF
Put the Phone into Charge Mode only ( Not Disk Drive )
USB Debugging Must be Turned on
What's Fixed:
Revamped due to new Method:
~ Superuser Apps now Function
~ If you Lose Root, all you have to do is Open terminal & type SU then type fixit! > No More Rebooting & running the exploit again for R/W on system to get Root back in place
~ Fixed R/O Bug!!
~ R/W is now Forced
~ /system is fully editable now! until reboot that is.
~ Busybox is installed to /vendor/bin
~ hex Edited libext4
~ hex edited libfuse.so
~~ This is the Last Update due to it working & Stable ~~

Q. Is this permanent?
A. no, it's a temp root method..
Q. Will I lose SU Access at some point while running the OS?
A. You might, but open terminal & type fixit to get root back!.
Q. What about apps that need a reboot to use superuser?
A. Use Fast Reboot form the market for app that need a reboot..
Q. Can I push & remove items to system & will it work?
A. Yes, but all changes are reset on a reboot.
Once Downloaded, Unzip & double click on the Run_ME_fre3vo_Root.bat File & Enjoy long lasting Root!
OLD NEWS:
Everyone knows that currently with any temp root, you still lose links to the SU Binary & Busybox links, it's just a matter of time before it happens!!
So after digging around somewhat I found an over sight that HTC might use later for system updates via /vendor/bin, who knows at this point though... Anyways, after amount of time the SU Binary along with busybox links if be in system/bin or /system/xbin gets deleted / removed..
Now, what I did was enable the $Path to /vendor/bin which is in the Sensation export PATH..
Any Calls made from this point either be SU or Busybox don't get deleted nor touched from any App requesting the SU Binary!! I've tested this with alot of apps & the Root sticks in place..
Other than Reboot, it might as well be a Perma-Temp-Root!!
I am Asia Sensation..Can i use it?
thanks loads
will give feedback
seems to work the same as before, cant wait until we can permanently change /system files
Thanks a lot !!!
I think the new thread it's beter, for the noob not confusion
with the old one
Great update. You should seriously consider talking with agrabren since your making temp root so much better. And I'm assuming you still can't permanently delete system apps right? Just permanently delete them for the time being until a reboot right?
does this still remove the bloatware as per the previous release? looking at the .bat doesn't seem to remove the apks in the manner/or at all?
Fantastic. Works great.

Any difference between this and Easy Fr3vo from this thread?

Even though Root Explorer is granted SuperUser, I still can not modify system files. I also can not actually overclock with SetCPU 2.2.4. It will show the max as 1728000 but it will never scale above 1188000
The process is extremely easy and very user friendly though
i have been trying root my sensation it says its a success but my phone is not rooted can anyone help
i did root it before and it worked i restarted my phone and lost root access as expected but now when reattempt it fails

Reboot did allow me to rename system apps, thank you. SetCPU still doesn't work correctly, but reading the other threads, this seems to be the normal behavior at this time. Awesome tool Eugene.

it doesn't get any easier then this thx for this , everything works perfect except SETCPU is not letting me overclock ...
I really hate to add to the chaos, but no matter what I do. I am not able to get this to work properly. I have HTC sync turned off, and debugging and mock locations checked off, but when it gets to waiting for device, it just hangs, and never picks up the device again. I tried to remove the wait for device commands out of the .bat file, and it gets through but when I attempt to use even titanium, it says root not achieved, and will not let me through. Yes superuser is installed.
T-Mobile US Sensation 4G
EDIT: I finally got it to work. The last two downloads of the files must have been bad or whatnot. I redownloaded a third time and it was the charm! Disregard this. Love your work Eugene!

Follow the steps in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152148
He did an awesome job with this.
If you did follow this then you probably need to boot into recovery and change permissions settings.
when i type in su in adb i get # but when i type in adb shell i still get $, it says adb: Not found

i have the same issue after OTA update. root only with terminal emulator on the device. try'd to fix permission in recovery, no changes. adb shell gives me no #, only $, allways permission denied by trying su.
Edit:
it looks like that only adb can't switch the user. su_2.3.6.3_efgh is sccessfully installed via CWM 4.0.1.4 without any errors. all root apps (e.g. Titanium Backup Pro, Root Explorer, Superuser, Terminal Emulator) are working perfect. root check from market told me that adb binary is set to default shell user access as a standard non-root user. any idears?

thanks for your help, busybox is successfully installed but i still can't change the user with adb
inside the trouble guide thread from the development they advice to flash a custom rom, but this is not my target.
seems the only way to get "#" from adb shell is with a custom rom. for me at least. i tried everything, changing the permissions of su, fixing permissions in recovery, and installing busybox,
When you type su are you going back to your phone and allowing super user for the unknown device? - I know that is a basic answer.

When you're in CMD and type adb shell or su, if its the first time you should see a request to allow or deny su permission on the phone, right? Does that happen when you attempt?

there is no request on the phone, nothing happens (screen was on)
Open super user- and see if you already hit deny- You can also change it from there. Also when you type "adb devices" does your phone show up with serial number?

It is not working with the stock ROM no point redoing every thing it wont work no matter how many times you try.
I doubt we will get much help it is not a problem with a custom ROM so there wont be that many peeps who will be looking into it.
Best bet it to stick a custom stock based ROM with a stock kernel.
Can someone walk me through the steps to root this One X? I tried rooting it last night with no luck, I couldn't get the 1.85 script to work--it installed Superuser and when I opened superuser it force closed and then said something like: "No binary installed, blah blah blah." If anyone is willing to help me just PM me and say which IM you'd like to use. Thanks a lot!

use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709296
seems to work every time to root 1.85
After going to the manual route and typing in the first command I get: C:\Users\Kelton\Downloads>adb shell rm /data/data/com.redbend.vdmc/lib/libvd*
C:\Users\Kelton\Downloads>
It completely ignored my command. .what did I do wrong? I dragged the SU file into downloads, which is where my "adb files, busy box, and root" root option are. :c
Edit 1: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/232/htcpic.png/ ---made a new folder where I extracted the auto-root script materials and included a screen shot showing it ignores my attempts at the manual method. Help.
Edit 2: Throughout this process somehow the OTA update got downloaded, *but* I didn't push it, I postponed it and did a factory reset. My firmware is still 1.85, so I should be good. However, now when I run the auto script and go to the phone and select "AT&T check for update" it says "continue update" instead of "check." Does that mean I can't run the script now? Is there anyway I could delete the update file off my SD card?
Edit 3: I ran the script after another factory reset and got a different result: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/705/htcpic.png/ I now have supersu on my phone, but when I try and open it I get: "There is no su binary isntalled, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!" Did I mess up? Should I factory reset again and try to do the manual method (which I've had no luck with)?
Edit 4: I downloaded Root Checker thinking I would have root access since I have SU in the app drawer, but I don't. Root checker said "This device does not have proper root access."

Hi there, I'm very new to all this android stuff, but i'm currently trying to get a sim unlock code for my one s. For this I'll need to copy a file to /system/ but Android Commander has so far told me I need root access (which i thought i had) and ES File Explorer has just said copy failed. Any help would be appreciated greatly
There is an option you may need to enable that will allow read/write access in es file explorer. Also, your SU program should request SU rights if it hasn't already.

I suspect it is to do with a 'soft root' issue, or so I keep seeing. Now I'm trying to use SuperOneClick but it just hangs at step#7, ive been having a lot of issues with the device being recognised in things such as HTC Sync.
I guess a better question to ask would be, is there another method to root i can use to get full access?
I'm not sure which tool you're using but sometimes connection issues are because usb debugging is not enabled. Did you get as far as flashing a custom recovery?

You need to unlock bootloader, install custom recovery, flash SU and SU script.

guys i recently bought xperia l ... earlier had htc explorer and had rooted it...so i wanna root xperia l but after reading various comments in various threads i doubt whether rooting wil b successful or not ?..after searching various threads i found this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44647265&postcount=19 ppl say its working for some and not for someothers... wanna know whether ths method is safe o not...wil it have any -ve effects on my device...i don wanna change kernel or rom...just want su for some apps...build no"15.0.a.2.17"
Yes that method is the only one that worked for me to get a full root. Motochopper only gives a partial root, you need the remount fix to get full root of the phone. It does work fine though.

i didnt get the steps mentioned there ..can u clearly lemme the steps and am not sure whtethe adb drivers are installed or not?...how to confirm it ?
also will i loose all my data and contents of memory card or not ?
No you won't loose anything rooting.
You'll know ADB drivers are installed properly because the batch file won't start at all.
Run the run.bat, let it do it's thing, wait for it to reboot.
run the SuperSU.bat, let it do it's thing, wait for it reboot.
Done.
