APN on/off after Sense 3.0, android 2.3.5 - HTC Desire S

Hi all,
I updated my phone (not rooted) via OTA to Sense 3.0 android 2.3.5 and suddenly the app I used for turning my internet connection ON/OFF is not working well anymore (used apn switch, etc).
This is frustrating as I travel a lot and I turn my data connection OFF when abroad and then turn it on when I need it. It is a long way to go to settings every time..
Does anyone know any app/widget working after update?
Thank you!

hi there, when u slide down notifications,u have quick settings tab on the bottom of ur screen,on that tab u have switches for mobile network,Wi-Fi etc,etc..cheers

It is still faster to turn on/off with a widget if it just worked

Working here
These 2 seem to working gr8 for me. Google them.

[Q] Internet problem on Android 2.2 on HTC HD2 T-Mobile

hey guys,
so i just installed FroyoStone SEnse Version 3.2 from gamesquare.co.uk
and everything works so well except for the Internet.
I have Wi-Fi at home, but when I went to school today, i couldn't go on my Internet help me please? how do i get the Internet working? I have the data plan too :/
THank you !!
Hi kincawine3
I have the same problem. I live in the Netherlands with Tmobile as my carrier, full data plan etcetera.
I installed android 2.2 my wifi works, my internet doesnt. It says 'connected', it even shows the right icons in the taskbar, but no internet.
I tried erasing my apn settings and resetting them and I tried factory settings but to no avail. I ringed Tmobile about it and (as was to be expected) they couldnt help since they suggested the above.
Help would be immensely appreciated.

First of all, make sure you're not set to a static IP (which i assume you're not).
You might also want to check a different kernel. I'm not familiar with the kernel used in your build so i couldn't tell you what to expect - but there are 2 kernels running for the HD2 (hastarin's and mdj's). you can try to use them and see if it helps. the older builds had problems with ppp which are now (more or less) fixed.
read the instructions on how to replace the kernel and let me know if you run into any problems.
Thanks Nir
Hi,
While i do not share the problem of no internet access, the connection drops off regularly. Why, but more practival how do I fix it?
I can often see the signal switching from 2G to 3G to HSDPA, perhaps this has someting to do with the connection going dead. Is there a way to keep the signal fixed on 3G? Like there is an option to only maintain 2G connections.
When i go to Settings and disable + enable internet access it works fine. Sometimes the connection goes dead every five minutes, sometimes rarely.
Facts: HTC HD2 WinMobile 6.5, Android 2.3 via SD card method.
Unlimited data plan.
regards from Netherlands

I honestly don't use ICS but here is a shot in the dark. Have you tried using a stock ROM and experience the same thing?
from what i remember i had no problems with the stock rom but from what it seems its like a registry issue but idk...
ok this only happens on the energy roms anybody have a clue on why this happens?
Please someone help i hate this!!!!1
Fuze ICS auto disconnecting
Try this:
Windows Start
Tools
Advanced Config
Network
Scroll Down to the (Turn Off WiFi if no activity) Change it to NO
right below the above (WiFi If no activity) find (Wifi auto off timeout) and set it to 120001.
Also you can go to the menu feature at bottom tap more settings, connections-- make sure the disconnect after is not checked and that wifi is enabled on standbye.
Hope this helps !!

[Q]Cellular Internet problems

I have a Samsung Focus running official Mango update in India... a few days after running I got a internet plan for my phone[2g] firstly I wasn't able to get it running I asked the question in xda and someone told me to make a new APN by the name "Internet" and keeping settings on Roam and Automatic...
And it started running! but when I started using more of it I noticing some problems..
1) It doesn't always turn on
2) It turns off sometimes by itself
When the net is running it usually runs fine for long times but then I have to turn off net sometime around to save some battery.
Restarting the phone helped sometimes... sometimes it doesn't.. it always shows the "E" icon[when data connection is on] but that doesn't necessarily mean it has access I guess..
Please help
Okay now it works only for a few seconds before going off..
Factory reset your phone.

The guy who tipped me told me to keep it on.
And yeah I'd rather with less to no net then loose all my music collection and apps :/
Okay I've downloaded the app, and the auto net profile changing is on.
When i select active one, I get ATT and IDEA IND .. but when i select IDEA it just shows its working but then when it goes back to previous screen it still has ATT
I've read some articles about it.. it was first wasn't compaitible with the nodo update and didn't change the profile.. can it be that the app hasn't been updated for mango or something ?
One more thing is there to note this app has not been updated for mango.

It actually worked... On selecting Idea Ind it didnt change.. but on restarting when i checked it was changed to IDEA IND already having much better net now..

[Q] GizRoot_v_2:: Two issues Can Fix?

Hello, I applied this ROM yesterday I don't have enough posts to put the question in the original thread where I downloaded the ROM but I am
and am very happy with the results but there are two issues. One is that I no longer get the “weather sound” when the clock/weather widget is doing a full screen animation.
No huge deal but I kind of liked that.
The other thing, which is a big deal to me, is that the wireless will not connect automatically, either to open wifi that is remembered, or at home where I have WPA security. It also does not notify me of open networks, even though I have that option checked. Another thing (and this goes back to the OEM ROM as well) is that there are three “AT&T Wifi Hotspot” listings and I cannot “forget “ them.
I connect to one of these at Starbucks but do not know why there are three of them. I also do not use AT&T I use a pre-paid T-Mobile with no date plan so that is why the auto connect to Wifi is so important.
Can anyone offer any advice? I am a total newb but I think I did the “full wipe” correctly, I ran a file called FULL_WIPE_1.5_EXT4_.zip
However, I noticed that after the wipe/ROM flash I still had my remembered wireless networks on the phone, as well as the name of the phone for Bluetooth, which I had changed. So it did retain some info even though it make me do the whole setup routine again once I had flashed this ROM.
Thanks in advance for any advice. I do like Sense but wanted some of the stuff I can do with root, but it is very important for me to be able to auto connect to remembered wifi networks as I don't have a data plan. I really don't want go go back to the unrooted version that is posted on the HTC page.
OK stupid a** me I found the toggle for weather sound so now the only issue is the connection to WiFi if anyone can help out. I have tried toggling WiFi on and off, forgetting and then re-connecting to my home WiFi, a restart and an off/on start, but once I am disconnected from a known Wifi it will not reconnect on it's own I have to go into menu/wireless/networks and then it will do a scan and connect automatically, but with the stock rom it always connected automatically, to remembered networks once I was in range, even if the phone was in sleep mode.
Please post all questions in the Q & A section. Thanks. Thread moved.

WiFi issues after Marshmallow update

Hey guys,
Having an issue with WiFi since the Marshmallow update. We have an open WiFi network at work that you need to sign in to the firewall to access internet. Previously it worked fine, but after the Marshmallow update, my phone constantly drops the WiFi network. It always happens when I lock the phone or otherwise let the screen turn off for more than about a minute, but it also happens even when I'm using my phone, if I'm on for more than about 5 minutes on average it drops the network. When I go to reconnect, it lists under the SSID "Internet not available" but I just tap the network and tap connect and it connects anyway, doesn't even make me sign into the firewall again. I'd really appreciate some help with this, if I can't get this fixed I'll be doing away with Android for good. I don't use my phone for much other than Facebook and games, so I'm not at all opposed to using a custom ROM if that would help. Just haven't installed one since CM7 on my HTC Evo Shift, so I duno which would be best for my situation. Thanks in advance for any input!
Bump. Hopefully someone has a solution...
One more bump before I give up...
Hi, I'm on stock firm, and after the last upgrade, I cannot connect to my work's wifi network. It's a EAP-MSCHAP2 connection. At home, wifi works flawlessly....

try talking to your system administrator at work. The upgrade may cause a comparability issue that maybe fixed by a simple tweak at work.
